Infine, massima attenzione all’avversario di serata: “La Roma?
Avete mai chiesto quanto stavano i vostri nervi? Condividete le vostre emozioni e pensieri nei commenti! #DerbyDay #EmozioniForti #Calcio
Another edition of the hotly contested Milan derby takes center stage at the San Siro as AC Milan will play host to their cross-town rivals Inter.
As is often the case, this match means more than just a heated rivalry in this edition. Inter trail Napoli by three points with a game in hand, and with a significantly better goal differential, they can take over the the lead in the title race with a win.
Milan, meanwhile, have slumped all the way down to eighth, as their issues this season have remained even as Sergio Conceicao took over for Paulo Fonseca at the helm. They lost to Juventus in league play two weeks prior, and fell to Dinamo Zagreb in the final league phase match of the Champions League midweek.
The Sporting News takes a closer look at this matchup with both title implications and bragging rights on the line.
Sporting News football betting expert Kyle Bonn shares his best bets, props, and longshot fliers for some of the biggest matches in the sport each week. Since the start of 2024, he has correctly predicted 54.6% of 386 match outcomes via his 3-way moneyline leans for a totalprofit of 68.7 units.
These two teams almost always play extremely tight games, that much is true. The last three Milan derbies have all been decided by a single goal, while the same is true for five of the last seven.
Yet in their current form and squad makeup, Inter are just plain better. They should have won the Supercoppa Italiana, and are just the more skilled side. AC Milan have won each of the last two, and that run should come to an end here. If it doesn’t, Inter will have a lot of questions to answer for yet another missed opportunity

AC Milan vs. Inter best bet
Pick: Over 2.5 total goals
Odds: -145 (BetMGM)
While Serie A clubs aren’t necessarily prone to scoring goals and hitting overs, these two clubs have been chaotic enough this year to do the job. Each of the last four Milan derbies have gone over the total, with a combined 17 goals between them.
The main goal scorers for both these clubs are healthy and in good form, and it’s the defensive unit that is struggling the most for Milan.
AC Milan vs. Inter prop bet
Pick: Lautaro Martinez anytime goal scorer
Odds: +160 on DraftKings
Sometimes the easy choice is the right one, especially when the odds are this favorable.
Lautaro Martinez had a very difficult end to 2024, but he has exploded to life in the new year. With a goal in each of his last three matches, the Argentine looks back to his best at the head of the Inter attack.
He’s also been a menace for AC Milan in the past, as you can imagine. He scored in the last meeting as Inter fell in the Supercoppa Italiana, and he has a goal contribution in three of the last four league games. With three of those four contributions being assists, Lautaro is due for himself to finish one off himself, as he’s not a volume chance creator for teammates.
The Milan derby is always a highly anticipated match in Serie A, and this weekend’s clash between AC Milan and Inter is set to be a thrilling encounter. Both teams are in top form and fighting for the Scudetto, making this match a crucial one in the title race.
AC Milan currently sit in second place in the league table, just behind Inter. They have been in impressive form this season, with striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the charge. Inter, on the other hand, have been in scintillating form, with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez forming a deadly partnership up front.
In terms of odds, Inter are slight favorites to win the match, with bookmakers offering odds of around 2.20 for an Inter victory. AC Milan are not far behind, with odds of around 2.80 for a Milan win. A draw is also a possibility, with odds of around 3.30.
When it comes to betting tips, it’s always a good idea to consider the form of both teams and the history of the fixture. Both teams have been scoring freely this season, so a bet on both teams to score could be a good option. Over 2.5 goals is also a good bet, given the attacking talent on display.
In terms of best bets, a bet on Inter to win and both teams to score could be a good option, with odds of around 4.00. Alternatively, a bet on over 2.5 goals and both teams to score could also be a good bet, with odds of around 3.00.
Overall, this Milan derby is set to be a closely contested match, with both teams in top form. It’s sure to be a thrilling encounter, and one that is not to be missed.

Meanwhile, in defense it is the trio of Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, and Benjamin Pavard.
Next, in midfield Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan complete the usual trio alongside Calhanoglu.
Then, on the flanks Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries get the nod.
Lastly, in attack Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram lead the line.
Meanwhile, there are a couple of notable names on the Inter bench. Francesco Acerbi is back from injury, while Nicola Zalewski is available after completing his move from Roma on loan.
Inter (3-5-2): Yann Sommer; Benjamin Pavard, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Federico Dimarco; Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez. ‘We haven’t won anything yet’ – Chelsea boss Bompastor plays it cool after derby victory
Chelsea head coach Sonia Bompastor said that her side haven’t won anything yet after they defeated Arsenal 1-0 in a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Guro Reiten netted the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in-front of a record crowd for a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Stamford Bridge of 34,302.
The Blues are seven points clear in the title race with just 10 games to play. When speaking in the post-match press conference, head coach Bompastor expressed her satisfaction with the result but emphasised the need to maintain the right mentality for the rest of the season.
“I’m really pleased with the result but as you could see in the game today, it’s a really fine margin between Arsenal and us,” Bompastor said.
“It went our way which I’m really pleased with, but I think if you analyse the performance, it was a tough game and we didn’t control everything in the game. We were able to score which brought us a great result.
“We want to take it game-by-game, making sure we make the right decisions in every game to bring the great results, but we are far away yet to have won something. We haven’t won anything yet, so we need to keep the right mentality.”
Bompastor was pleased with the impact of her game-changers with Lauren James and Guro Reiten being particularly impressive.
She said “I think they have a lot of quality. This is where sometimes as a manager, you have some headaches because you need to decide the starting XI.
“They have the right mentality even if they were frustrated and that’s good. They just thought about the team first and when they were coming in, they had a big impact which is a really, really good thing for me to have in my squad.”
While Chelsea have a seven-point advantage on Manchester United at the top of the table, there are now 10 points between The Blues and London rivals Arsenal. Bompastor again emphasised the importance of keeping the right mentality between now and the end of the season.
She said “In terms of psychological elements, the win is huge, but there are a lot of games to be played. If we keep the right mentality, if we keep almost all the players available, we are in a good position but you never know what can happen in football.”
Chelsea return to Barclays Women’s Super League action on Sunday when they travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa.
Chelsea boss Bompastor plays it cool after derby victory
After a thrilling victory in the derby against our rivals, Chelsea boss Bompastor is keeping a level head. Despite the impressive performance from her team, Bompastor is quick to remind everyone that they haven’t won anything yet.
In a post-match interview, Bompastor praised her players for their hard work and dedication but emphasized the importance of staying focused and not getting ahead of themselves. She knows that the season is long and there are still many challenges ahead.
While the derby victory is certainly a cause for celebration, Bompastor is already looking ahead to the next match and the next opportunity to prove themselves. She knows that complacency is the enemy of success and will not let her team rest on their laurels.
So, while the fans may be buzzing with excitement after the derby win, Bompastor is keeping her cool and reminding everyone that there is still work to be done. With her leadership and determination, Chelsea is sure to continue their success and reach even greater heights.

Jim Goodwin has been speaking to the media before Dundee United’s Premiership game against Rangers on Sunday.
Here are the key lines from his press conference:
On the Scottish Cup derby defeat: “We didn’t cover ourselves in glory in the first 45 minutes, but the reaction in the second half was brilliant and if we can replicate that performance more consistently for longer periods in games then we give ourselves a great chance of winning.”
Goodwin says Rangers have “had their struggles” in the league but are “full of international class players” and will “take confidence” from Thursday’s game at Man United despite the late defeat.
He wants his side to “get their gameplan right,” adding: “It’s about us being brave on the ball when we get the opportunity, being more clinical and ruthless in front of goal.”
The United players are in “a really good place psychologically” and the next target is to guarantee a place in the top six.
Goodwin is “delighted” with the loan addition of midfielder Lewis Fiorini and forward Ruari Paton, with the latter providing a “different dimension at the top end of the pitch”.
On potential further signings: “We’ll continue to see what options are out there, it’s just about trying to strengthen in those key areas to make sure we don’t leave ourselves short.”
Goodwin is planning on Sam Dalby staying until the summer but Wrexham “hold all the cards”.
Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin has weighed in on Rangers’ recent struggles, their derby loss to Celtic, and the club’s new signings in a recent interview.
In the interview, Goodwin expressed sympathy for Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, acknowledging the pressure that comes with managing a club of Rangers’ stature. He also highlighted the challenges of facing a strong Celtic side in the recent derby loss, but emphasized the need for Rangers to bounce back quickly.
Goodwin also discussed Dundee United’s own transfer activity, praising the club’s new signings and expressing confidence in their ability to make an impact on the team. He emphasized the importance of integrating the new players quickly and building on their positive start to the season.
Overall, Goodwin’s comments shed light on the challenges and opportunities facing both Rangers and Dundee United in the current season, and highlight the competitive nature of Scottish football. Fans will be eager to see how both teams respond to these challenges in the coming weeks.
Ange Postecoglou should be sacked as Tottenham boss after their north London derby defeat.
That’s the view of Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit, who told talkSPORT that ‘broken’ Spurs need to put their players out of their misery.

Ange Postecoglou should face the sack, according to Emmanuel Petit
Fresh from a tricky FA Cup victory over non-league Tamworth on Sunday, Postecoglou’s side went into the clash at the Emirates Stadium in need of a reaction and got one when Heung-min Son put them ahead early on.
However, it didn’t take long for Arsenal to seize control of the game and secure a 2-1 victory in a game that could have gone even further in the Gunners’ favour.
As well as keeping them stuck in 13th spot in the table, Spurs have lost four of their last five games in the Premier League and picked up just 11 points in their last 12 games, conceding 22 goals in the process.
With Tottenham 14 points from the top four and just eight points from the drop zone, Petit believes that the time is now for Spurs to make a change.
Speaking to talkSPORT from the Emirates Stadium, Petit said: “I was watching Ange Postecoglou and he must be feeling really alone on the pitch tonight.
“I think things are probably coming to the end for him. I think that something has to change.
“We can see the league, we can see the faces of the players tonight on the pitch and they look so miserable, nobody looks like themselves.
“As I said, I think something has to change at Spurs so I think he will get the sack.”
He added: “I feel pity for the Spurs fan. Honestly, I feel pity.
“Game after game, I’ve watched this team and I’m thinking, is it Postecoglou’s fault?

“When I look at this team, I have no idea what they want to do on the pitch, what kind of system, what kind of movements, even the commitment and the behaviour of the players.
“I know that they give everything on the pitch, but that’s not enough. When you look at the quality individually and collectively in this team, something has been broken.
“They’ve been losing so many games, they’re dropping down the table, they’re not far the relegation zone. We’re talking about a team that should be playing for the top position in the Premier League.
Arsenal labelled ‘Cringe FC’ for Gabriel Jesus gesture by Jason Cundy after victory over Tottenham
“So this is something for me that worries me the most.
“If I was a Spurs fans – and I’m not in the board, I’m not Mr Levy – but to be honest with you, something has to change.”
Tottenham haven’t been helped by key injuries to Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and Rodrigo Bentancur, while Richarlison has just returned to fitness.
But reflecting on their fitness woes, Petit responded: “Injuries are something very important to deal with but they have enough quality in the squad.

Meanwhile it’s that sinking feeling once again for SpursCredit: Getty
“Look at the players on the pitch, look at Son – he was amazing on the pitch for five years. Maddison this season – Maddison last year was such a great player, what has happened to him?
“Something is broken in this team and you can’t sack all of the players and so you have to make the easiest decision and that’s to sack the manager.
“I don’t like saying that and I feel for Postecoglou, but he deserves to be sacked because they’re going down game after game so change something.”
Tottenham are next in action on Sunday when they travel to face Everton, before taking on German side Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday.
Speaking to talkSPORT after the game, Postecoglou said: “I just thought the first half in particular was just way too passive. We allowed Arsenal to control the game and we’re just nowhere near aggressive enough with and without the ball.
4
Postecoglou needs to turn results around and quicklyCredit: Getty
“And, you know, allowed them to sort of feel comfortable in the game and that’s not what we’re about.
“It’s unacceptable. It’s a big game, we should be ready for that. And I said we were nowhere near the team that we can be in that first half.
“I think all you do is you get up tomorrow morning and start preparing for a tough game on the weekend.
“Our league form’s unacceptable, the results are unacceptable and it needs to change… as I said, our form and our results are nowhere near good enough so we need to change that.”
The recent North London derby defeat was a tough blow for Spurs fans, and Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit believes that their manager, Ange Postecoglou, should be sacked. As a former player for Arsenal, Petit has strong opinions about their rivals, but he also expresses pity for the fans who have to endure such disappointing performances.
In a recent interview, Petit stated, “I feel pity for Spurs fans. They deserve better than this. Postecoglou has proven to be incapable of turning things around, and it’s time for a change. The team looks broken, and the fans deserve better.”
It’s clear that Petit’s words strike a chord with many football fans, as the pressure mounts on Postecoglou to deliver results. Whether or not the Spurs board will heed Petit’s advice remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – the fans will continue to support their team through thick and thin.

As seen above, the England international won seven duels in the North London Derby, the joint-most within the Arsenal squad, tied with defender Jurrien Timber.
The winger put in a real shift on the right flank and despite Sterling frustrating Arsenal fans, his contribution in the wide areas did cause Spurs problems.
Sure, the 30-year-old’s finishing and final ball could have been better however, there is little to complain about when reviewing his application in the must-win game.
Sterling has a chance to impress Mikel Arteta
Arteta knew of Sterling’s record against Tottenham going into the fixture but unfortunately, the Englishman wasn’t able to add to his tally.
That being said, there were plenty of positives to take from the loanee’s performance, with the rusty areas of his game partly due to his lack of minutes.
Amid Arsenal’s dire injury situation in attack, Arteta will have some assurance that he can count on Sterling to bring some experience and trickery to the wide areas.
All that’s needed is for the Premier League winner to offer more with his final ball, which will surely come with additional minutes and building confidence.

Raheem Sterling’s North London Derby performance was seriously overlooked for one surprising reason
Raheem Sterling put on a masterclass performance in the recent North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, yet his incredible display seemed to have gone unnoticed by many fans and pundits alike.
The surprising reason behind this lack of recognition? It seems that all eyes were on the controversial incidents that occurred during the match, overshadowing Sterling’s standout performance on the pitch.
Despite being heavily involved in the game and causing constant problems for the opposition defense, Sterling’s contributions were seemingly brushed aside in light of the drama that unfolded throughout the match.
It’s a shame that Sterling’s exceptional performance was overshadowed by external factors, as his skill and determination deserved to be praised and celebrated. Hopefully, fans and pundits will take a closer look at his performance and give credit where credit is due.
Raheem Sterling’s North London Derby performance may have been overlooked, but his talent and ability on the pitch certainly did not go unnoticed by those who truly appreciate the beauty of the game.
