  • Final Destination Bloodlines Trailer Teases Death by Nose Ring

Final Destination is back for more elaborate death traps.

On Monday, Feb. 3, Warner Bros. Pictures debuted the first teaser trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines, showing a tattoo artist inking himself a “Dad” tribute on his arm — before being hung by his nose ring on a ceiling fan and burned.

The franchise, famous for its over-the-top fatal scenarios constructed like chain-reaction Rube Goldberg machines, is making its comeback after the fifth installment arrived in 2011. The first film, released in 2000, starred Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Seann William Scott and Tony Todd.

A synopsis for Bloodlines says this entry “takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice.”

  • Final Destination: Bloodlines teaser trailer

A teaser trailer has been released for the long-awaited horror sequel Final Destination: Bloodlines, coming to theatres in May

Last year, Final Destination 6 (which is going by the title Final Destination: Bloodlines) finally, after years of development and a long year gap between sequels, made its way through production. Franchise producer Craig Perry previously let it be known that the film was aiming for a theatrical release in 2025 – in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the original film. It will even be on IMAX screens! It was recently confirmed that Final Destination: Bloodlines is set to reach theatres on May 16, 2025… and now, a teaser trailer for the film has arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above.

Perry teased a long time ago that this new sequel would feature a sequence set in a tattoo parlor, and now that sequence is the focus of the teaser trailer. I’m a huge fan of the Final Destination franchise, I have been looking forward to part 6 ever since the opening weekend of Final Destination 5 in 2011, and I have to say – it’s heartwarming to see Death back in action in this teaser trailer.

Final Destination: Bloodlines has the following synopsis: Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.

The late, great Tony Todd reprised the role of mortician Bludworth in this film, and he’s joined in the cast by Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones, Rya Kihlstedt, and Tinpo Lee.

Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, is producing the film with Perry, Dianne McGunigle, and Sheila Hanahan Taylor. Watts came up with the initial idea, which was fleshed out into a screenplay by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick. The directing duo of Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, who previously directed the 2018 film Freaks (starring Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern) and the 2019 live-action Kim Possible movie, are at the helm.

  • ‘Final Destination 6’ Plot Details Revealed Ahead of Trailer with Prequel Details

The Final Destination franchise has had some ups and downs, and after several sequels of diminishing returns, it looks like the new movie, Final Destination: Bloodlines
, will be taking things in a new direction – as a prequel movie partly set in the 1960s. The movie, which is the second horror franchise to use the Bloodlines subtitle after 2024’s Pet Sematary prequel, is preparing to release its first trailer, which makes sense considering the film’s planned release date of May 16, 2025.

An official synopsis of the new movie (via Feature First) suggests a dual timeline story, which could end up having several ties to the original Final Destination movie. The description reads:

“In the 1960s, a grandmother predicts the collapse of a building and saves a group of people from death. Decades later, her granddaughter also begins to have visions of the death of her family members and later begins to realize that there is a sequence.”

Final Destination: Bloodlines comes from director’s Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky, and stars Brec Bassinger, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, and Richard Harmon, as well as a posthumous appearance by the late Tony Todd returning as creepy mortician William Bludworth. The mix of dual period settings of the 1960s and, presumably the 1980s or 1990s, and the appearance by Todd’s character, is certainly intriguing and something that could help revive the franchise after several lackluster releases.

Can the ‘Final Destination’ Franchise Really Deliver Anything New?

Like many movie franchises built on a single premise of characters dying one by one, after a couple of run outs, it is hard to do anything new with the property other than rinse and repeat several increasingly elaborate death scenes. However, when the death scenes begin to defy all logic, and almost become eye-rolling moments that go beyond incredulous, then the horror and suspense is abandoned in favor of some kind of “death porn” spectacle.

The multigenerational storyline of Final Destination: Bloodlines does seem to be attempting to bring something new to the party, and with a mostly new cast, and coming 14 years after Final Destination 5, the movie can target an audience that was not the right age to see the original saga.

15 Things Final Destination Has Made People Scared Of

The Final destination franchise is responsible for inducing quite a few phobias. Here are 15 of the worst ways to go as imagined by the films.

Of course, it does not take a synopsis to work out that there will be many people dying in some intriguing and brutal ways. However, Final Destination: Bloodlines could face some unexpected competition from Osgood Perkins’ Stephen King adaptation, The Monkey, which reportedly includes some crazy and gory death scenes that have found the film struggling to put together a TV spot that is acceptable to distributors.

Either way, there is not too long to wait until Final Destination: Bloodlines attempts to capture an early summer box office win. If the film is a success, then it is pretty certain that the franchise will become yet another long-dormant IP that is being brought back to life after more than a decade. If it becomes a theatrical dud, there will be a deathly shadow lurking to take it away to a free streaming graveyard soon afterwards.

After years of speculation and anticipation, fans of the Final Destination franchise can finally rejoice as plot details for Final Destination 6 have been revealed ahead of the trailer release. Not only that, but there are also details about a potential prequel in the works.

In Final Destination 6, we follow a group of young adults who narrowly escape a catastrophic disaster only to realize that death is still coming for them. As they try to outsmart death’s design, they uncover a sinister conspiracy that threatens to unravel everything they thought they knew about their own fate.

But that’s not all – rumors are circulating about a potential prequel that delves into the origins of the infamous “death design” and how it all began. Could we finally learn the true origins of the curse that haunts these unsuspecting victims?

Stay tuned for the trailer release and more updates on Final Destination 6 and the potential prequel as we await the next chapter in this thrilling and suspenseful franchise. Get ready to cheat death once again.

  • Final Destination: Bloodlines First Look Revealed as the Movie Reaches a Huge Milestone

Final Destination: Bloodlines has reached two major milestones on its path to theaters, with composer Tim Wynn revealing its official logo while announcing the completion of its musical score. The reveal comes from inside the editing room during the final stages of post-production, underlining the film remains firmly on track for its May 2025 release date. That’s no minor feat, considering the sixth chapter of the Final Destination movie series has overcome numerous obstacles, including pandemic-related delays and the 2023 Hollywood labor strikes. As the franchise approaches its 25th anniversary, Bloodlines promises to honor its legacy while pushing the series in bold new directions, including an unprecedented worldwide IMAX release and a deeper exploration of the mythology that has captivated audiences for nearly a quarter century.

    Videos by ComicBook.com

The score’s completion marks a significant milestone for a production that has undergone substantial changes since its 2019 announcement. When New Line Cinema first revealed the project, writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan crafted a script described as a “re-imagining” of the franchise. By March 2020, producer Craig Perry envisioned a story centered on first responders, stating, “These people deal with death on the front lines every day and make choices that can cause people to live or die.” This concept was further transformed through multiple screenplay iterations, with Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick ultimately crafting the current script based on a story by Jon Watts. The sixth installment notably features the late Tony Todd returning posthumously as William Bludworth, the mysterious mortician who appeared in Final Destination, Final Destination 2, and Final Destination 5, with the story promising to explore his character’s origins.

The project faced several hurdles before locking a release date. The planned July 2023 production start in Vancouver was delayed by the SAG-AFTRA strike, with filming eventually taking place between March 4 and May 13, 2024, under cinematographer Christian Sebaldt. Initially announced as an HBO Max release in January 2022, Warner Bros. Pictures later shifted the film to a theatrical release including IMAX screens, marking the first time the franchise will appear in this premium format. All that spells good news for fans, indicating Warner’s confidence in the new movie.

Final Destination: Bloodlines Promises to Reinvent the Franchise

The Final Destination franchise distinguished itself in the horror landscape through its innovative premise of Death as an invisible force rather than a traditional antagonist. Since Jeffrey Reddick developed his original concept from a real story about a woman who avoided a doomed flight due to her mother’s premonition, the series has delivered increasingly elaborate death sequences across five films from 2000 to 2011. Each installment maintained the core premise of survivors attempting to cheat death after a premonition saves them from a catastrophic event while gradually expanding the mythology through Bludworth’s cryptic appearances.

Series creator Jeffrey Reddick has indicated this sixth installment will differ from the established formula, stating that while it remains “a true Final Destination movie,” it won’t follow the traditional pattern of “we set up a group of people, they cheat death, and then just death gets them.” With directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein selected from over 200 candidates after a memorable pitch meeting featuring a staged accident, Bloodlines aims to bring a fresh perspective to a franchise that has generated over $650 million across its previous five installments.

Final Destination: Bloodlines claims its next victims on May 16th.

Exciting news for all horror fans out there! The highly anticipated film Final Destination: Bloodlines has officially reached a huge milestone in its production as the first look has been revealed to the public.

From jaw-dropping death scenes to heart-pounding suspense, Bloodlines is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Directed by acclaimed horror filmmaker James Wan, the film follows a group of friends who narrowly escape a tragic accident, only to find themselves being hunted down by a mysterious force that is determined to see them meet their untimely demise. • ‘Final Destination 6’ Gets a Thrilling Update Ahead of Release

Final Destination: Bloodlines, the sixth movie installment in the Final Destination Universe, is still on track for its May 2025 release, even with the number of hurdles it has encountered and overcome. As its release date fast approaches, music composer Tim Wynn has revealed the film’s official logo via a now-deleted post on his Instagram per ComicBook. Wynn also announced the completion of the movie’s score, with the image that came from inside the editing room during the final stages of post-production.

In the image below, a large screen shows Final Destination: Bloodlines in bold letters on a dark background and with blood splatter centered on the title. And in the caption, Wynn penned, “That’s a wrap. Looking forward to this being released in the theaters this May. Grateful to be a part of this amazing team.” Speaking of the team, Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein serve as directors of the supernatural film with Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor attached as scribes. New Line Cinema produces, while Warner Bros. Pictures is in charge of distribution in the U.S.

Final Destination: Bloodlines has come a long way since it was announced over half a decade ago. In January 2019, years after the release of Final Destination 5, New Line Cinema announced a new installment in the franchise was in development. However, the project encountered several obstacles before getting a release date. The planned July 2023 production start in Vancouver was delayed by the SAG-AFTRA strike, with filming eventually taking place between March 4 and May 13, 2024, under cinematographer Christian Sebaldt. Most of the cast was revealed within that period, and later, in December, Wynn was hired to compose the score.

Final Destination Is the 10th Highest-Grossing Horror Franchise Domestically

A screenshot from Tim Wynn's Instagram showing the official logo of Final Destination: Bloodlines
    Image via Instagram

Created by Jeffrey Reddick, the Final Destination films are set around the premise of a small group of people who escape impending death after one individual has a sudden intuition and warns them about a major disaster that is about to happen. After avoiding their foretold deaths seen in the visions, the survivors are later killed one by one in unusual accidents caused by an unseen force creating complicated chains of cause and effect.

The first four films in the franchise each have about three years in between their release dates, but Final Destination 5 arrived two years after its predecessor and did pretty well at the global box office. It grossed nearly $158 million, slightly less than the fourth installment’s earnings of over $186 million. All in all, Final Destination is the tenth highest-grossing horror franchise nationwide and is New Line’s third most lucrative horror franchise, behind The Conjuring franchise and the IT series.

Final Destination: Bloodlines arrives in the U.S. on May 16, 2025. Stay tuned to Collider for further updates.

  • Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea’s Destination Wedding’ First Look Revealed

Tyler Perry has five film and TV projects coming to Netflix in 2025: “Madea’s Destination Wedding;” the new comedy series “She The People;” part 2 of the hit drama series “Beauty in Black;” “Straw” starring Taraji P. Henson; and the faith-based film “R&B.”

These projects tally up to the sixth film and second series from Perry’s creative partnership with Netflix, inked in 2023, which sees him write, direct and produce films, series and faith-based features for the streamer.

“Madea’s Destination Wedding” is the second film from the Madea franchise to be released on Netflix. “A Madea Homecoming” debuted at No. 1 on the global top 10 English-language films list in 2022, and spent four weeks on the list.

This time, Madea (played by Perry) and her crew — Cassi Davis Patton’s Aunt Bam, Tamela J. Mann’s Cora, David Mann’s Mr. Brown and Joe (also played by Perry) — head to the Bahamas for the titular “destination wedding,” which is of the shotgun variety. The plot kicks off when Brian (Madea’s nephew and Joe’s son, also played by Perry) and his ex-wife Debrah (Taja V. Simpson) learn that their daughter Tiffany (Diamond White) is engaged to a rapper she met on a yacht — and the wedding is in two weeks.

The film also features Jermaine Harris and Xavier Smalls and is produced by Perry, Angi Bones and Yolanda T. Cochran.

Terri J. Vaughn (as Antoinette Dunkerson) in “She The People.”
    CALVIN ASHFORD/NETFLIX

In Perry’s new series “She The People,” Terri J. Vaughn plays Antoinette Dunkerson, who runs a successful campaign for Lieutenant Governor and, according to the series logline, “now must figure out how to thrive under a sexist and condescending governor while attempting to keep her family in line now that they’re all in the public eye.”

Perry wrote, directed and produced the series, which also stars Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks and Jo Marie Payton. Former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms executive produces alongside Niya Palmer and Vaughn. Angi Bones and Tony Strickland will also produce for Tyler Perry Studios.

“She The People” marks Perry’s second series for Netflix after “Beauty in Black,” which reached No. 1 on the global top 10 English-language TV list following its October debut. Part 2 of “Beauty in Black” will launch on March 6. The show, written, directed and produced by Perry, centers on two women: Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) is struggling to make a living after her mother kicked her out, while Mallory (Crystle Stewart) is running a successful business and they find themselves entangled in each other’s lives.

The cast also includes Amber Reign Smith, Ricco Ross, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Xavier Smalls, Charles Malik Whitfield, Tamera “Tee” Kissen, Ursula O. With “Straw,” Henson and Perry reunite for their fourth movie, following 2008’s “The Family That Preys,” 2009’s “I Can Do Bad All by Myself” and 2018’s “Acrimony.”

In the drama, written, directed and produced by Perry, Henson plays a single mother who faces a series of unfortunate events that lead her down an unexpected path. “Struggling against circumstances beyond her control, she becomes entangled in a situation she never imagined,” the film’s logline explains. “Fueled by desperation, she finds herself at the center of suspicion in a world that seems indifferent to her existence.”

Rounding out the film’s cast are Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Glynn Turman, Sinbad and Rockmond Dunbar.

Tyler Lepley and Serayah McNeill in “R&B.”

“R&B” is the first film under Perry and DeVon Franklin’s multi-year, multi-picture deal to produce faith-based films.

Directed by Alanna Brown (“Trees of Peace,” “Blindspotting”) and written by Mike Elliott (“Brown Sugar,” “Just Wright,” “Like Mike”) and Cory Tynan (“Play’d: A Hip Hop Story”), the project is a modern-day retelling of Ruth and Boaz, one of the most iconic love stories in the Bible. According to its official synopsis, the film is set in Tennessee and centers on a young woman who “escapes the Atlanta music scene to care for an elderly widowed woman and in the process finds the love of her life and gains the mother she never had.”

Serayah McNeill, Tyler Lepley and Phylicia Rashad lead the ensemble cast, which also features musicians like Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Jermaine Dupri, Lecrae Moore and Yung Joc, as well as Walnette Santiago, Nijah Brenea, James Lee Thomas and Christopher Broughton.
