  • Amy Schumer Posts ‘No Filter’ Selfie After Cushing Syndrome Discussion

Amy Schumer is feeling herself — no filters necessary.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, the actress and comedian, 43, shared a “no filter” selfie on Instagram just a few days after revealing that people who trolled her appearance online had an unexpected outcome: her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, which she first revealed in February 2024.

Schumer shared the casual selfie, in which she showcased a soft smile while resting her hand on her head, on her Instagram Stories, where she revealed that she used “no filter.” The star also shared the same photo, in which she wears a simple charcoal gray sweatshirt, to the grid.

“What can I say,” she captioned the latter post, “It was a good night.”

The raw selfie comes three days after the comedian revealed in a podcast appearance that she wouldn’t have known she had Cushing syndrome if it weren’t for Internet trolls.

In the Jan. 22 episode of Call Her Daddy, Schumer told host Alex Cooper that “a year ago, the Internet really came for me,” referring to commenters who harshly criticized her face’s suddenly swollen appearance.

The Trainwreck actress said she ignored the comments at first — that is, until actual physicians began to comment with possible diagnoses based on the swelling she experienced. “Doctors were chiming in in the comments,” she told Cooper, 30, “and they were like, ‘No, no … something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy.’ “

Some of the medical experts weighing in, Schumer recalled, thought she might have Cushing syndrome, which occurs when the stress hormone cortisol remains in the body for too long, according to Mayo Clinic. It is caused by taking steroids for an extended period of time and leads to symptoms including weight gain, acne and distinctive facial swelling that is referred to as “moon face.”

“At first,” Schumer said, she thought, “F— off,” but then realized that the online diagnosis may have some validity after all.

The star had been getting steroid injections to treat the scars that were left from her breast reduction and Cesarean section — she welcomed son Gene, 5, with husband Chris Fischer in 2019 — and “it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome — which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard,” she explained.

Later in the discussion, Schumer explained that she “got rid” of her Cushing symptoms, but before she got in front of the cameras for her upcoming comedy Kinda Pregnant, she was feeling vulnerable where her on-screen appearance was concerned.

“I was feeling really down on myself before I started filming this movie,” she told the Call Her Daddy host. “I was really having trouble figuring out how I was going to star in a movie while I had this going on.”

But, Schumer recalled, all it took was a friend — director Lorraine Caffery, to be exact — to get her back to the right headspace to tackle the role. “I just needed one person to just amp me up,” she said.

Amy Schumer took to social media to share a ‘no filter’ selfie after opening up about her struggles with Cushing Syndrome. In the candid post, the comedian and actress proudly showed off her natural beauty, embracing her imperfections and sending a powerful message of self-acceptance.

Schumer has been open about her battle with Cushing Syndrome, a hormonal disorder that can cause weight gain, fatigue, and other symptoms. In a recent interview, she spoke about the challenges she has faced with the condition and the impact it has had on her body image.

The ‘no filter’ selfie is a refreshing and empowering move from Schumer, who is known for her unapologetic approach to body positivity. By sharing her unretouched, unfiltered image with her followers, she is showing that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and that imperfections are a natural part of being human.

Fans and followers of Schumer have praised her for her honesty and bravery in sharing her journey with Cushing Syndrome. The post has sparked a wave of support and admiration for the star, with many commending her for being a role model for body positivity and self-love.

In a world where social media often presents a skewed and unrealistic version of beauty, Schumer’s ‘no filter’ selfie serves as a powerful reminder that true beauty lies in embracing and loving ourselves just as we are.

  • Discussion: Who should be the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator?

The Detroit Lions’ 2025 coaching staff is in the very early stages of being rebuilt. As former Lions coaches Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson build their respective staffs in their new homes, Detroit has seen several key staffers leave this week. On top of Glenn and Johnson, the Lions have lost assistant QB coach J.T. Barrett, WR coach Antwaan Randle EL, and DL coach Terrell Williams. With Glenn still building his roster, more attrition could be on the horizon

But, in my opinion, no coaching vacancy is more important than offensive coordinator. A large majority of the Lions’ success over the last three seasons has been off the backs of their top-five ranked offense. While Ben Johnson is far from the only reason Detroit has maintained one of the best offenses in football over the past three seasons, it’s essential for the Lions to ensure that side of the football doesn’t take a significant step back.

So today’s Question of the Day is:

Who should be the Lions’ next offensive coordinator?

My answer: Obviously, a few candidates to take over that job are no longer options. Randle El is in Chicago now, while offensive line coach Hank Fraley is staying—but with the run game coordinator title added.

Despite that, Detroit still has a few internal candidates. Assistant head coach/running backs coach Scottie Montgomery is extremely well-respected and has the leadership qualities for a promotion. QB coach Mark Brunell—while getting some attention for other jobs—would help the Lions continue to keep quarterback Jared Goff comfortable. And passing game coordinator Tanner Engstrand has been the behind-the-scenes guy with his hands all over game-planning and scheme evolution.

There are also a bunch of intriguing external candidates, as ran down by our own Erik Schlitt. Rams TE coach/pass game coordinator Nick Caley is probably my favorite on the list, although some consider him the frontrunner for Aaron Glenn’s offensive coordinator with the Jets.

Ultimately, though, this team wants consistency with previous years. They want someone who Goff is comfortable with, who aligns their vision of the offense with head coach Dan Campbell, and they would even prefer the terminology to be the same or similar. If that’s the case, I see no candidate better qualified than Engstrand. He’s followed the exact same path as Johnson did on his way to becoming the Lions offensive coordinator, and it’s clear from his career trajectory that the Lions value him.

“He’s bringing a lot more ideas to the pass game in general,” Campbell said shortly after Engstrand’s promotion to passing game coordinator. “And I think really from the gameplan aspect is where you really see it, as well as, man, the details of the routes with the receivers, the tight ends, the backs, because he kind of works in those rooms too. And then we go out, we do the walkthroughs, we do practice and so he’s got a hand in all that too. So, I just – I see a lot of growth and if you’re asking me what I’ve really seen over a three-year period is the growth in vision and gameplan.”

Someone who has a hand in every position group, is critical in weekly gameplans for the passing offense, and has constantly received promotions every step of the way? Find me a better candidate.

What do you think? Share you pick for the Lions’ next offensive coordinator in the comment section below.

The Detroit Lions are in need of a new offensive coordinator after parting ways with Darrell Bevell. With a talented roster that includes quarterback Jared Goff and star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, the Lions have the potential to have a high-powered offense.

But the question remains, who should be the next offensive coordinator for the Lions? Should they go with a proven veteran coach, a young up-and-comer, or someone with a specific offensive scheme in mind?

Let’s discuss and debate who would be the best fit for the Detroit Lions as their offensive coordinator. Share your thoughts, opinions, and potential candidates in the comments below!

Ethics of Computing: Codes, spaces for discussion and law (IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology)

In the ever-evolving world of technology, the ethical implications of computing are becoming increasingly important. From data privacy and security to the impact of artificial intelligence on society, the decisions made in the realm of computing have far-reaching consequences.

One way to navigate these complex ethical challenges is through the use of codes of conduct. These codes serve as guidelines for professionals in the field of computing, helping to ensure that their work is carried out in a responsible and ethical manner. By adhering to these codes, individuals and organizations can help to promote trust and accountability in the digital age.

In addition to codes of conduct, spaces for discussion are also crucial in the ethical exploration of computing. Forums and conferences dedicated to ethics in technology provide a platform for experts to exchange ideas, share best practices, and debate the ethical implications of emerging technologies. These discussions help to shape the future of computing in a way that is both responsible and sustainable.

Finally, the law plays a crucial role in ensuring that ethical standards are upheld in the field of computing. Legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provide legal frameworks for protecting individuals’ data and holding organizations accountable for their actions.

In the upcoming IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology conference, we will explore the intersection of codes, spaces for discussion, and law in the ethical landscape of computing. Join us as we delve into the ethical challenges facing the world of technology and work towards a more responsible and sustainable digital future.
