  • Three things to watch for during 2025 Divisional Round on Sunday

    • WHERE: Highmark Stadium (Orchard Park, N.Y.)
    • WHEN: 6:30 p.m. ET | CBS, Paramount+, NFL+

Ravens-Bills has just about everything you might want in a Divisional Round showcase.

Two championship-level teams squaring off. Two quarterbacks who are battling it out for MVP and are seeking their first Super Bowl title. And yes, some snowfall is expected over the weekend in Western New York.

Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen will square off Sunday night in a milestone game in both of their careers. Jackson led the Ravens to the AFC Championship Game last season, while Allen’s Bills have fallen short of getting there each of the past three campaigns, losing the past two divisional round games at Highmark Stadium to the Bengals and Chiefs, respectively.

The Ravens also sent a message to the Bills back in Week 4, demolishing them, 35-10, in an early season battle that helped Baltimore avoid a 1-3 start. It was the Bills’ biggest loss in three years, and the Ravens are only team to beat them (when the Bills played their starters) by more than three points all season.

Both Jackson and Allen were in fine form in the Wild Card Round. The Bills outgained the Broncos by 247 yards last week. The Ravens had a 464-280 yardage edge over the Steelers. Both defenses excelled, too, and which unit can do its best to slow down a dangerous offense could ultimately determine who wins on Sunday.

Whoever comes out on top will face the winner of Saturday’s Texans-Chiefs game, playing for a spot in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. That was the site of the Ravens’ last Super Bowl title, during the 2012 season. The Bills are still seeking their first rings and their first appearance in the Super Bowl in 31 years.

    1. Quarterback showdowns: With top signal-callers like Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, and Tom Brady likely leading their teams into the Divisional Round, fans can expect some epic quarterback duels. Keep an eye on how these elite passers perform under pressure and whether they can elevate their teams to victory.
    2. Defensive battles: As the competition heats up in the playoffs, defenses will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of each game. Look for standout performances from defensive stars like Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, T.J. Watt, and Micah Parsons as they try to shut down high-powered offenses and make game-changing plays.
    3. Coaching decisions: In the high-stakes environment of the Divisional Round, coaching decisions can make all the difference between winning and losing. Pay attention to how head coaches manage the clock, make strategic adjustments, and take calculated risks in key moments of the game. The ability of coaches to outsmart their opponents could be the deciding factor in advancing to the conference championships.

  • Texans voice dismay with officiating following 23-14 Divisional Round loss to Chiefs

Anderson was cited for roughing the passer on a third-and-8 Mahomes incompletion midway through the third quarter. The first down that accompanied the penalty led to an eventual go-ahead field goal.

“I had forcible contact to the facemask area and so I went with roughing the passer on that play,” referee Clay Martin told pool reporter Aaron Wilson.

In the third quarter, Mahomes scrambled for a gain before sliding. Two Texans players, who collided with each other, also contacted Mahomes. That drew an unnecessary roughness flag and was part of a drive that culminated with a touchdown catch by Travis Kelce.

“So, [Mahomes] slid, obviously and when he slides, he is considered defenseless,” Martin said. “The onus is on the defender. I had forcible contact there to the hairline, the helmet.”

Regardless of any explanation, the Texans didn’t hesitate to voice their views on how they felt the game was called.

“Everybody knows how it is playing up here,” Houston running back Joe Mixon said. “You can never leave it into the refs’ hands. It is what it is. When it comes down to it, you can never leave it into the refs’ hands.”

In total, the Texans had eight penalties accepted against them for 82 yards in comparison to four accepted against the Chiefs for 29 yards. The negative-four accepted penalty margin tied the largest for Kansas City all season. It was also a negative-four margin (6-2) in Week 16 against the Texans.

While the Texans were authoring a narrative of the flags being exclusive to their efforts against the Chiefs, they averaged 7.0 accepted penalties per game in the regular season and had eight accepted penalties in their win over the Chargers the week prior.

“We knew going into this game, man, it was us versus everybody,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “When I say everybody, I mean everybody. The naysayers, the doubt. Everybody, we had to go against again today. Going into this game knowing what we were up against, we can’t make the mistakes we made. We had a lot of self-inflicted mistakes that happened, whether it was special teams not converting our kicks; defensively, not being where we’re supposed to be in coverage; offensively, not protecting our quarterback and keeping him clean. So, you marry that on top of everything else that we have to deal with, it’s going be a really tough, uphill battle.”

To Ryans’ points, Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud was sacked eight times. The Stroud-led offense had just one touchdown.

Meanwhile, kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn missed two kicks (one extra point and a field goal) and had a field goal attempt blocked.

Houston also began the game allowing a 63-yard kickoff return, caused a fumble on the play, didn’t recover and then had Kris Boyd penalized 15 yards for throwing his helmet. He then proceeded to shove Texans special teams coordinator Frank Ross.

“I was lit, I was turnt, I thought we had a good play and I apologize to everybody,” Boyd said. “I apologize to Frank. And I did again, and he told me, ‘Don’t worry about that.’”

The penalties drew the ire of social media and the Texans locker room, but flags have been troublesome all season for Houston, which had more than just the laundry on the field going against it Saturday.

“I’m walking out of here discouraged,” Ryans said. “Like, this one hurts, right? Because I know we’re better football team than we showed today, no matter who we’re playing against. To go back and still have to talk about mistakes that we made and this moment, like, yeah, it’s discouraging to be here, because we gotta be over that at this point in the playoffs, right? Postseason football, you gotta be at your best, you gotta be operating on all cylinders, and for us, we didn’t do that today. So, that’s what I’m discouraged about.”

Texans fans are not happy with the officiating in Sunday’s Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs. Despite jumping out to a 24-0 lead in the first quarter, the Texans ultimately fell to the Chiefs 51-31, ending their playoff run.

Many fans took to social media to express their frustration with several controversial calls made by the officials during the game. From questionable pass interference calls to missed holding penalties, Texans supporters feel like the officiating played a significant role in the outcome of the game.

One particular play that has sparked outrage among fans was a fake punt attempt by the Texans in the second quarter that was deemed unsuccessful due to an illegal formation penalty. Fans argue that the penalty was unwarranted and cost the Texans valuable momentum.

Overall, Texans fans are feeling disheartened and disappointed following the loss, with many calling for changes to be made in the officiating process to ensure fair and unbiased calls in future games. Despite the setback, fans are still proud of the team’s accomplishments this season and are hopeful for a better outcome next year.

  • NFL divisional round playoff overreactions: Travis Kelce better than Jerry Rice? Chiefs aided by officials?

The first day of the divisional round of the playoffs was a thriller around the NFL. The Washington Commanders had a massive upset victory over the Detroit Lions and advanced to the conference championship game for the first time since 1991, all behind the rookie sensation in Jayden Daniels. Washington will play the winner of the Philadelphia eagles and Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game next week.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans in the early game to advance to their seventh consecutive conference championship game — or every season Patrick Mahomes has been a starter. The Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills or the Baltimore Ravens next week.

With the exciting divisional round matchups on Saturday concluded, there are plenty of overreactions to be had. Which are overreactions and which are reality?

Jayden Daniels is having the best postseason ever for a rookie QB

    Overreaction or reality: Reality

What Daniels has done in two postseason games is the stuff legends are made of. The No. 6-seeded Commanders defeated the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay then beat the No. 1-seeded Lions in Detroit, making Daniels the third rookie quarterback to play in the conference championship game.

Daniels hasn’t game managed his way there either. Daniels is the first player since the 1970 merger with 250+ passing yards, 2+ passing touchdowns, and zero interceptions in each of his first two playoff games. He’s the third player with 500+ passing yards, 75+ rushing yards, 4+ passing touchdowns and zero interceptions through the first two games of a postseason — joining Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.

The Commanders are in the conference championship game for the first time in 33 years because of Daniels, playing like a top-five quarterback in Year 1. Daniels and the Commanders have a bright future.

Lions Super Bowl window is closed

    Overreaction or reality: Overreaction

The Lions were the team to beat in the NFC with the No. 1 seed and a 15-2 record. This was their best chance to win a Super Bowl, and they were in position to win one with the playoffs going through Detroit. With this divisional playoff loss to the Commanders, is the Super Bowl window closed?

The core of this team with Jared GoffAmon-Ra St. BrownJahmyr Gibbs and Penei Sewell are back. Aidan Hutchinson and many other key defensive starters will be healthy as well (the Lions had six defensive starters on injured reserve and 16 total players). Detroit still has a top-three offensive line in football and one of the most explosive offenses, whether Ben Johnson returns as offensive coordinator or not.

The Lions will lose some key coaches (Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn most likely), so they’ll take a hit there. There are some questions whether Goff is good enough to win this team a Super Bowl, but this team will be in the mix to compete for a Super Bowl in 2025. The window is not closed yet.

Jared Goff isn’t good enough to win the Lions a Super Bowl

    Overreaction or reality: Overreaction

Goff is a good enough quarterback to win Detroit a Super Bowl championship, but turnovers and subpar play in big games have been his downfall. Goff threw three interceptions — one returned for a touchdown — and had a fumble lost in Saturday’s loss to the Commanders.

The Lions may have to protect Goff from himself going forward, making him a game manager in big games instead of a gun slinger. Goff has been to a Super Bowl and two conference championship games in his career, yet has a 4-5 postseason record. Heading into Saturday, Goff’s 0.6 interception rate was the lowest in NFL playoff history — which evaporated because of his poor performance.

Detroit committed to Goff and gave him $53 million a year for the next four years. They’ll roll with Goff going forward and Goff will have multiple opportunities to avenge this playoff loss. Going forward, Detroit probably should not rely on him throwing 40+ times in a playoff game.

Travis Kelce is the best receiver to ever play in the postseason

    Overreaction or reality: Reality

Kelce added to his postseason legend in Saturday’s win, catching seven passes for 117 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Kelce passed Jerry Rice for the most 100-yard games by any player in the postseason (nine) and has 14 straight playoff games with 70+ receiving yards — double the amount of the next highest player (Antonio Brown has seven).

Kelce has 2,020 receiving yards, and 20 receiving touchdowns in his playoff career — only Rice has more with 2,245 and 22 touchdowns. At 35 years old, Kelce could pass Rice as soon as this season — and he’s already in striking distance of Rice.

Both Kelce and Rice have three Super Bowl titles and are the No. 1 options for each of their Super Bowl championship teams. Kelce also has the most receptions by any player in postseason history (172) — and has these numbers in six fewer playoff games than Rice.

When it comes to the postseason, no one is a better pass catcher than Kelce.

Andy Reid will set the NFL all-time wins record for coaches

    Overreaction or reality: Reality

Reid notched his 300th career win (regular and postseason) with the Chiefs beating the Texans on Saturday, becoming the fourth head coach in NFL history to hit 300 career wins. Only three head coaches have more career wins than Reid: Don Shula (347), Bill Belichick (333), and George Halas (324). The all-time wins record is well within reach.

Reid only needs 48 wins to pass Shula and is only 66 years old. The Chiefs win an average of 13 regular-season games a season since Patrick Mahomes became the starting quarterback — and this isn’t including the 16 postseason wins. Counting the postseason, the Chiefs win an average of 15 games a year.

Reid only needs three more seasons at that pace to get within five wins of the all-time record, something he can pass by the 2028 season (he would be 70). Assuming Reid doesn’t retire prior to then, he will pass Shula for the most wins by a head coach — and may have a few more championships by then.

Officials are why the Chiefs won

    Overreaction or reality: Overreaction

Social media was buzzing with how the officiating crew were in favor of the Chiefs in Saturday’s win, particularly Patrick Mahomes. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans added fuel to the fire by saying in his postgame press conference — “It was us versus everybody. When I say everybody, I mean everybody.” — implying the officials had calls in favor of the Chiefs.

This isn’t way the Chiefs won the game. The Texans allowed eight sacks in the divisional round loss, allowed a 63-yard kickoff return on the opening play of the game that led to three points, had a 35-yard field goal blocked, and missed a 55-yard field goal in the 23-14 loss (nine points given up right there). Houston was also 1 of 3 in the red zone, not having a single goal-to-go situation.

Houston made enough mistakes on Saturday not to advance to the conference championship game. Losses don’t need to be blamed on the officials, especially if Ryans was implying that was the case.

The NFL divisional round playoffs always bring out some wild reactions from fans and analysts alike. This weekend was no exception, with the Kansas City Chiefs pulling off a thrilling comeback win over the Buffalo Bills. But are some of the reactions going too far?

One hot take making the rounds is the idea that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is better than legendary receiver Jerry Rice. While Kelce is undoubtedly one of the best tight ends in the game right now, comparing him to Rice, who is widely considered the greatest receiver of all time, seems like a stretch. Rice holds numerous records and won three Super Bowls during his career, while Kelce is still chasing his first ring.

Another controversial topic from the Chiefs-Bills game is the idea that Kansas City was aided by the officials. There were several questionable calls throughout the game, including a crucial pass interference call that went in favor of the Chiefs. Some fans are crying foul and accusing the officials of favoring the reigning Super Bowl champions. While it’s natural for fans to feel frustrated when calls don’t go their team’s way, it’s important to remember that officiating is a difficult job and mistakes will happen.

In the end, it’s important to take a step back and consider the bigger picture. Travis Kelce is a phenomenal player, but comparing him to Jerry Rice is a bit premature. And while officiating can certainly impact the outcome of a game, it’s just one factor among many. Let’s enjoy the excitement of the playoffs and leave the overreactions behind.

  • NFL divisional round playoffs: Overreactions, big questions

The divisional round of the NFL playoffs kicked off Saturday afternoon with the Chiefs topping the Texans 23-14 to advance to the AFC Championship Game. Then the Commanders punched their ticket to the NFC Championship Game on Saturday night, beating the Lions 45-31.

What are the lessons from each divisional round matchup, and what’s next for these teams? We asked NFL analyst Ben Solak and national insider Dan Graziano to help size up each game and look forward from all angles. For Texans-Chiefs and Commanders-Lions, Ben answered one big remaining question and Dan judged the legitimacy of one potential overreaction.

Let’s jump in, making sense of the Commanders’ wild upset of the Lions and Travis Kelce‘s big performance for the Chiefs.

    Jump to a matchup:
    Texans-Chiefs | Commanders-Lions

Overreaction? The Lions have already blown their best shot at a Super Bowl.

The NFL divisional round playoffs are in full swing, and as always, there are plenty of overreactions and big questions swirling around the league. From surprising upsets to standout performances, here are some of the most talked-about storylines from the weekend:

    Overreactions:
    1. The Green Bay Packers are unstoppable: After a dominant win over the Los Angeles Rams, many fans and analysts are declaring the Packers as the team to beat in the playoffs. But can they keep up their momentum against tougher competition in the conference championship?

    2. The Buffalo Bills are Super Bowl bound: With a convincing victory over the Baltimore Ravens, the Bills are looking like a serious contender for the Lombardi Trophy. But can they continue their hot streak and make it past the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game?

    3. Tom Brady is ageless: At 43 years old, Tom Brady is still playing at an elite level and led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a win over the New Orleans Saints. But can he keep up his performance against the stout defense of the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game?

    Big questions:
    1. Can the Kansas City Chiefs repeat as Super Bowl champions? The defending champs looked dominant in their win over the Cleveland Browns, but they will face a tough test against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.

    2. Will the Cleveland Browns bounce back next season? Despite a disappointing loss to the Chiefs, the Browns had a successful season and made it to the playoffs for the first time in 18 years. Can they build on their success and make a deeper run in the postseason next year?

    3. Who will be the breakout star of the divisional round playoffs? With standout performances from players like Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes, there are plenty of candidates for the title of playoff MVP. Who do you think will emerge as the standout player of the weekend?

As the playoffs continue, these overreactions and big questions will only become more pronounced. Stay tuned to see how the rest of the postseason unfolds!

  • Game status | Bobby Wagner active vs. Lions in Divisional round

The Washington Commanders are getting their Hall of Fame linebacker for their biggest game of the last 20 years. Bobby Wagner will be available for the Commanders’ playoff game against the Detroit Lions in the Divisional round.
Wagner was out on Tuesday and Wednesday with an ankle injury, but head coach Dan Quinn dismissed any speculation that he would be unable to play on Saturday.

“No,” Quinn said when about any concerns for Wagner. “He did a good job on the rehab part of it. … He looks strong.”
Wagner has been the Commanders’ emotional and statistical leader all season. He led the team with 132 tackles during the regular season — he’s had at least 100 in each of his seasons as a pro — and had eight tackles with a quarterback hit against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wagner supplied one of the game-changing plays in the 23-20 Wild Card. He fell on a fumble by Baker Mayfield in the fourth quarter, setting the offense up at Tampa Bay’s 13-yard line. The Commanders scored and took the lead on a five-yard touchdown to Terry McLaurin four plays later.

“He is a rare competitor,” Quinn said of Wagner in his postgame press conference. “So much of his success is unseen work. I’m in early. He’s already there. He’ll be the first one in tomorrow. I’m certain of it. He’s just that type of competitor that he doesn’t back off of it.”

The Commanders will need more of that against the Lions, who boast one of the best offenses in the league. They ended the regular season ranked second in yards per game, first in points and fourth in third-down conversion rate.
Quinn also said there was no concern about Zane Gonzalez, who appeared on the injury report with a hip issue. Gonzalez hit the game-winning field goal against the Buccaneers that sent Washington to the Divisional round for the first time since 2005.

Linebacker Jordan Magee, who Quinn said earlier in the week reinjured his hamstring, has been ruled out for Saturday’s game. Mykal Walker and Colson Yankoff are both questionable. The remaining players on Washington’s injury report, including Brandon Coleman, Marshon Lattimore, Frankie Luvu and Zach Ertz, will be ready to go.

Check out bet365 for more Commanders news.

The Seattle Seahawks have announced that star linebacker Bobby Wagner will be active for their Divisional round playoff game against the Detroit Lions. Wagner, who has been dealing with a knee injury, was a game-time decision but has been cleared to play in this crucial matchup.

Having Wagner on the field is a huge boost for the Seahawks defense, as he is not only a tackling machine but also a leader on and off the field. His presence will be crucial in trying to contain the Lions’ potent offense and advancing to the NFC Championship game.

Stay tuned for more updates on the game status and follow along as the Seahawks look to make a deep playoff run with Wagner leading the way. #GoHawks #NFLPlayoffs

  • Jamison Crowder Divisional Round Outlook for Fantasy Football (2025)

    Share:

    Link copied to clipboard!

2 days agoAccording to the team, Washington Commanders wide receiver Jamison Crowder (hamstring) is off the injury report and good to go for Saturday’s playoff game against the Detroit Lions. Crowder carried a questionable tag with this same injury last tweet but avoided one heading into the divisional round. Last weekend against Tampa Bay, Crowder logged just offensive snaps and did not see a target. He also was held off the scoresheet during Week 18. However, during Weeks 15 through 17, Crowder caught 2.7 passes per game and, tallied 22.3 yards per contest and found the end zone twice. The 31-year-old should be viewed as a high-risk desperation flex play as he is the clear No.4 option in the wide receiver room and has not seen consistent work throughout the season.Andy Smith – RotoBaller
    Source: Washington Commanders

As we head into the divisional round of the fantasy football playoffs in 2025, many managers may be wondering what to expect from Washington Commanders wide receiver Jamison Crowder. Crowder has been a consistent fantasy producer throughout the season, and his performance in the wild card round did not disappoint.

In the wild card round, Crowder had a solid outing, hauling in 6 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. He was a reliable target for quarterback Jalen Hurts and played a key role in the Commanders’ victory. Looking ahead to the divisional round, Crowder will be facing a tough matchup against a formidable secondary. However, Crowder has shown that he can produce against tough defenses, making him a solid option for fantasy managers.

Crowder’s ability to create separation and make plays in the passing game bodes well for his fantasy outlook in the divisional round. He has a strong connection with Hurts and should see plenty of targets as Washington looks to advance in the playoffs. While he may not put up huge numbers, Crowder has the potential to deliver a solid performance for fantasy managers.

Overall, fantasy managers can feel confident starting Jamison Crowder in the divisional round of the playoffs. He has been a consistent performer all season and has the potential to put up solid numbers against a tough defense. Keep an eye on Crowder as he looks to help lead Washington to victory and continue his strong fantasy production.

As the Washington Football Team gears up for their NFC Divisional Round matchup against the Green Bay Packers, fans are anxiously awaiting news on the status of wide receiver Jamison Crowder. Crowder has been dealing with a calf injury that kept him out of the Wild Card round, but there is optimism that he could return for this crucial game.

Crowder has been a key playmaker for Washington this season, recording 699 receiving yards and six touchdowns in the regular season. His absence was felt in the Wild Card game, as the offense struggled to find a rhythm without him on the field.

The latest reports indicate that Crowder has been making progress in his recovery and could potentially be available for the Divisional Round. However, his status remains uncertain and will likely be a game-time decision.

Fans are hopeful that Crowder will be able to suit up and make an impact in this important game. His ability to stretch the field and create mismatches for the defense would be a huge asset for Washington as they look to pull off an upset against the Packers.

Stay tuned for further updates on Jamison Crowder’s injury status as game day approaches. Washington fans are keeping their fingers crossed that their star receiver will be able to take the field and help lead the team to victory.

  • Zach Ertz Divisional Round Outlook for Fantasy Football (2025)

    Share:

2 days agoWashington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz (rib) is off the injury report and should be viewed as a low-end TE1 in DFS formats this weekend, facing the Detroit Lions. Ertz opened the week as a non-participant but was able to upgrade each day, ending the week with a full session on Thursday. Last weekend, during their upset victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ertz took the backseat as he caught just two of his four targets for 23 yards. However, Ertz scored three touchdowns during Weeks 17 and 18 and caught 11 of his 12 targets. Overall, the 34-year-old has enjoyed a nice debut campaign in the DMV as he has found the back of the end zone seven times and averaged 38.5 yards during 17 regular season games. Given the projected high-scoring affair on Saturday evening, Ertz should enjoy a nice bounce back despite the Lions allowing the fewest PPR points to opposing tight ends.Andy Smith – RotoBaller

As we head into the divisional round of the 2025 NFL playoffs, fantasy football owners are likely keeping a close eye on Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz. Ertz has been a reliable fantasy option throughout his career, known for his sure hands and ability to find the end zone.

In the wild card round, Ertz had a solid performance, hauling in 6 receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. He showed a strong connection with quarterback Jalen Hurts and was a key factor in the Eagles’ victory.

Looking ahead to the divisional round, Ertz faces a tough matchup against a stout defense. However, with his skillset and experience, he is more than capable of putting up solid fantasy numbers. Ertz has a knack for finding the soft spots in the defense and could be a reliable target for Hurts in crucial moments.

Fantasy owners should feel confident starting Ertz in their lineups for the divisional round, as he has the potential to be a difference-maker and help lead their team to victory. Keep an eye on Ertz as he looks to continue his impressive postseason performance and help propel the Eagles to the next round.

    B/R

The Kansas City Chiefs are playing in the AFC Championship Game for a seventh straight season.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans 23-14 on Saturday night to keep Kansas City’s hopes of a championship three-peat alive.

Later Saturday evening, the Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions will play with a trip to the NFC Championship Game on the line.

Here’s a look at the state of the playoff picture and remaining schedule as the Divisional Round continues Sunday.

    2025 NFL Playoff Schedule

    Divisional Round

NFC: (6) Washington Commanders at (1) Detroit Lions, 8 p.m. ET

NFC: (4) Los Angeles Rams at (2) Philadelphia Eagles, 3 p.m. ET

AFC: (3) Baltimore Ravens at (2) Buffalo Bills, 6:30 p.m. ET

    Conference Championships

AFC at Kansas City Chiefs, 6:30 p.m. ET

    Super Bowl LIX

AFC Champion vs. NFC Champion, 6:30 p.m. ET

The Chiefs have played in every AFC Championship Game since the 2018 season, and that streak won’t end this winter.

Mahomes and the Chiefs won four of those conference championship games on the team’s way to three championships. Now the two-time reigning champs will wait to see which opponent they will be playing for another shot at the Super Bowl.

The Commanders and Lions will compete for a spot in the NFC Championship Game under the dome at Detroit’s Ford Field, but Sunday’s divisional round contests are likely to be shaped by weather.

The Rams and Eagles could be playing in snow in Philadelphia, while the Ravens and Bills are slated to compete in sub-freezing temperatures in Buffalo.

How these teams respond to the cold will determine whether players head home Monday or continue their bid for a trip to New Orleans in February.

Whichever four teams advance will have until next Sunday to prepare for their conference championship.

The Chiefs entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the AFC, so the conference championship game will take place at Arrowhead Stadium regardless of whether the Ravens or Bills advance to the next round.

Home advantage in the NFC Championship Game will similarly go to the highest seed that makes it through this weekend. The top-ranked Lions could lock up another game at Ford Field if they are able to defeat the Commanders on Saturday night.
