It Takes Two Dev’s Split Fiction Gets Trailer With Dune And Alice In Wonderland-Inspired Levels
A new trailer for the next EA Originals game, Split Fiction, has gone live and shows off more of the Hazelight-developed game in action. Narrated by game director Josef Fares, the gameplay trailer shows off two levels–one set in a sci-fi world, the other in a fantasy land–and how players will use unique co-op gameplay elements in each one to progress. For the sci-fi level, there are anti-gravity sections and bike chases to look forward to, while the fantasy level features shape-shifting gameplay mechanics.
The other big feature shown off in the Split Fiction video are Side Stories, optional one-off adventures that are hidden throughout the game’s levels. Discovering one and exploring it will transport players to even more worlds influenced by sci-fi and fantasy fiction, with some of the levels including outer space, an Alice in Wonderland-themed world, and a stage that looks heavily influenced by the recent Dune movies.
Developed by the studio behind the critically acclaimed It Takes Two, Split Fiction was first revealed at The Game Awards last year. A mandatory two-player game, Split Fiction lets you play as two would-be writers: Mio and Zoe. After the pair sign up to participate in a new publishing program, they find themselves transported to virtual recreations of their stories by a shady tech company and have to work together to escape before they lose their memories.
Split Fiction is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC on March 6, 2025, and preorders are now live for it. The great thing about the game is that it comes with a cross-play Friend Pass, allowing one user to invite a friend to join them even if they haven’t purchased Split Fiction.
Thanks to its cross-play design, it also doesn’t matter which of the three applicable platforms your pal is on either, as you’ll both be able to team up for a jaunt across futuristic and magical lands. 2025 has quite a few exciting co-op games on the horizon, and if you’re interested in seeing what else is coming out in this genre throughout the year, you can check out GameSpot’s list of the most-anticipated co-op games of the year.
Exciting news for fans of the popular co-op game It Takes Two! The developers at Hazelight Studios have just released a new trailer for their upcoming split fiction DLC, featuring levels inspired by Dune and Alice in Wonderland. In this new DLC, players will be able to take on the roles of characters from these iconic stories as they navigate through beautifully crafted levels that pay homage to the worlds of Dune and Alice in Wonderland. From sandworms to tea parties, players can expect a unique and immersive experience that combines the best of both universes.
The trailer showcases stunning visuals, creative gameplay mechanics, and a glimpse into the captivating story that awaits players in this exciting new expansion. With its innovative split-screen co-op gameplay and engaging narrative, It Takes Two continues to push boundaries and deliver unforgettable gaming experiences.
Stay tuned for more updates on the release date and additional details about the split fiction DLC for It Takes Two. Get ready to embark on a thrilling adventure through worlds inspired by Dune and Alice in Wonderland with your favorite co-op partner!

#Dune #Part #Bluray #Region #Free,2024Dune: Prophecy – The Origin of Desmond Hart’s Powers, Explained
The first season of Dune: Prophecy set up many mysteries, but one of the biggest questions fans had all season was what exactly was going on with Desmond Hart. Played by Travis Fimmel, the former Imperial soldier with mysterious powers was one of the most intriguing new characters introduced to the franchise. However, fans were largely kept in the dark about his origins and where he picked up the ability to burn people alive from the inside out.
In the back half of the season, the creators started giving the audience some answerswhile still holding back more mysteries for the recently announced season two. In episode five, they revealed the truth of Desmond’s parentage, and the finale finally gave at least some answers as to the origins of his powers. While the forces who gave him his abilities remain a mystery for now, fans at least know that they’re not quite as mystical as they seemed at first.
Dune: Prophecy’s Fear Virus
After nearly a whole season spent looking for answers in the wake of Mother Kasha’s death in the premiere, the Sisterhood finally made progress in uncovering the truth in episode five. The consciousness of former Reverend Mother Raquella—using young acolyte Sister Lila’s body as a vessel—discovered that what killed Kasha is actually a virus that preys on a person’s fear response, overwhelming their system and killing them from the inside. The Sisters began to understand how the virus worked, but not how it could be triggered at will.

Dune: Prophecy: The Season 1 Ending For Each Major Character
Here’s where every major character in Dune: Prophecy stands at the end of Season 1.
They discovered more clues in the finale, theorizing that Desmond could somehow be triggering a reaction that was already lying dormant inside them, using fear as a catalyst. Armed with this knowledge, Sister and Suk doctor Nazir (Karima McAdams) willingly infected herself and attempted to control the virus using her Truthsayer training. This ultimately fails, as the virus seemed to react stronger the harder Nazir fights, and ultimately overwhelmed her defenses.
Through this gruesome affair, Tula surmised that the virus might not be biological at all, but rather some kind of small-scale thinking machine technology. She posited that Desmond may have had this technology implanted inside him, making him into a sort of living weapon, which would mean he’s as much a victim of outside forces as those he killed. If that’s the case, it means the Sisterhood has a much bigger enemy on their hands than Desmond Hart.
Desmond Hart the Weapon
In the Dune: Prophecy season finale, Tula heads to Salusa Secundus to try and confront Desmond, revealing that she’s his mother and offering to help try and remove the weapon from him. It all comes to a head when an injured Desmond catches up to Valya, Ynez, and Keiran as they try to make their escape, triggering the virus in Valya. By facing her fear rather than fighting it, Valya survives the ordeal and is treated to a vision of Desmond’s memory as a bonus.

Shows To Watch If You Like Dune: Prophecy
While fans wait for Dune: Prophecy’s next season, these shows should scratch the itch for political intrigue in fantastical worlds.
The memory puts the audience in Desmond’s point of view as a thinking machine pulls out one of his eyes, implanting several small glowing devices in his optic nerve before sticking the whole thing back in, as a shadowy figure watches from a distance. This all but confirms that his “powers” aren’t really powers at all, but technology implanted in him by as-yet unknown forces. The memory also ties into the vision that frightened the acolytes in episode four, revealing that the piercing blue eyes looming out of the darkness were actually the bright lights of the thinking machine.
Whether Desmond had this technology implanted in him willingly remains to be seen, but so far it seems like he’s always been in control of them, despite the heavy physical toll it takes to use them. It also remains to be seen just who is behind this whole scheme. Valya was unable to make out any details in her vision, and Desmond’s memory seemed like it had some holes. Before her death, Sister Nazir had a vision of “the monster of Arrakis,” and it seems like she saw something other than just a garden-variety Sandworm.
Now knowing the source of his power, Valya moved to kill Desmond but was stopped by Tula, who tried to get through to him and got arrested for her trouble. Hopefully, season two will reveal whether she’s able to cut through his resentment and fanaticism and convince him to join forces to fight their unknown common enemy, or if Desmond is fully aware of what’s been done to him and willing to carry it out. There will be plenty to ponder whenever Dune: Prophecy returns, but for now, fans at least have a few answers to tide them over until the next round of mysteries begins.

Vintage Mugler Vintage Givenchy The hardest-working woman of 2024 was undoubtedly Zendaya.
With two back-to-back press tours, you favoured the Sci-Fi Chic and Dune of the Desert-themed looks she served during the Dune: Part 2 campaign.

‘Dune: Prophecy’s’ Faoileann Cunningham on Sister Jen’s harrowing series journey (exclusive)
Amid the sacred stone walls of the Sisterhood’s fortress-like headquarters on the planet Wallach IX, the acolytes of Mother Superior Valya Harkonnen (Emily Watson) and Reverend Mother Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams) in “Dune: Prophecy” struggle to make sense of the strange happenings of their order as forces internal and external try to destroy their influential heritage.
Sister Jen is one of the foremost academy students, who displays an uncanny level of common sense, uncensored intuition, and outspokenness that might make her one of the frontrunners to claim a leadership role should tragedy befall her stoic-but-flawed mentors, Valya and Tula.
Actress Faoileann Cunningham, who had a brief role in director Robert Eggers’ Viking saga “The Northman,” portrays this headstrong apprentice amid an incredible ensemble cast that allowed her to significantly stretch her range in HBO/Max’s six-episode prequel miniseries. After being taken under Tula’s wing and entrusted to harbor dangerous secrets in regards to Lila’s (Chloe Lea) resurrection and recovery, Sister Jen has come to the forefront of this remarkable series to assert herself in myriad ways that will likely resonate into the newly-announced second season.
Faoileann Cunningham as Sister Jen in “Dune: Prophecy” (Image credit: HBO/Max) “It was very fun,” Cunningham tells Space.com. “Obviously they’re challenging scenes but working with those guys was so fun and we’d obviously built up a good rapport across the whole series. To be honest, sometimes those things are easier than the big set pieces where there’s a million people on set for a day, so you can just connect to the other actor and do what you need to do. I really enjoyed it, and it was nice that we shot those scenes in sequence which made it a lot easier. Chloe and I are very good friends, and the same with Olivia. So it was very joyful. A lot is happening so you have to reset and go, ‘Okay, I didn’t know that five seconds ago.’”
The intense sequences down in the bowels of the Sisterhood’s stronghold with Sister Lila possessed by the deceased Mother Raquella, who’s trying to dissect reasons for Kasha’s death and discover the source of Desmond Hart’s powers, carried a style and tone reminiscent of old Universal horror movies such as “The Bride of Frankenstein.”
“When we go into the cave Lila is in a lot of pain and is clearly grappling with the ancestors so I think wrapping that up as far as we could possible go was our aim in the safest way possible but really pushing that with the stunt coordinators,” she notes. “The minute that door opens it’s a fire that’s happening. And in the following scenes, it was really nice because we hadn’t seen in so long that really close connection between Jen and Lila that was there in the early episodes. They were head-to-head in bunk beds to each other so they were always able to have those conversations. After that, it was just really connecting to what had gone before and bringing it right down to two friends filling each other in on everything.”
Faoileann Cunningham and Chloe Lea in “Dune: Prophecy” (Image credit: HBO/Max) Cunningham admits to the complexity of Sister Jen’s journey in “Dune: Prophecy,” something that required her to inhabit the role with facets of her own personality.
“I think initially what I loved about her was this jester quality, setting people up to fall or setting people up for questions they really didn’t want to answer, or playing with people’s own perception of truth,” she explains. “That was fun because obviously as an actor you could switch off what parts of those things were really sincere and what parts weren’t. But that kind of runs right up to the end of the season. We never really know where she sits in terms of her loyalty, what she wants to get from this, who she trusts and who she doesn’t. And that’s very appealing. I’m also quite a cerebral person so it was nice to try and find parts of yourself in there. That firm footedness and reactive nature, but equally both on a personal level and on a character level, maturing through the season into being able to hold lots of conflicting ideas.
“When you’re on set with Olivia and Emily you’ve got to run quicker than you’ve ever run in your life, and likewise for the younger cast. Every single person is astonishingly talented and incredibly hardworking. It made me do my homework times a million. There’s so many moving parts to the story, you have to become very refined in each moment of what you’re trying to convey. It’s all very very focused work because otherwise, I think we would lose the audience since there’s so much going on. God only knows where Jen is headed, but it’s very exciting.”
