Mysterio won the 2006 Royal Rumble, which came just a few months after his close friend Eddie Guerrero passed away. He went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania 22.
Speaking at WWE Royal Rumble Kickoff, Rey Mysterio commented on competing in the Men’s Royal Rumble. He made it clear that he wanted to win the match and do it for Eddie Guerrero.
“I feel [like I’m in] great physical shape,” Rey Mysterio said. “I want to repeat history, and I want to do it for that friend that we all know. [Fans chant for Eddie Guerrero]. If that energy from Eddie does not fill me up tomorrow, I don’t know what will, and your energy as well. So let’s repeat history tomorrow night.”
“Yeah, I love the Rumble. It’s one of those things where you really never know who’s gonna come next, so it really is a surprise,” Dominik said. “But for me, one of my favorite Rumbles is when my deadbeat [dad] unfortunately won. I was a big Randy Orton, so I thought Randy was gonna take it, and then deadbeat just comes in and ruins it.
“But shoutout to Triple H too, pulling him out, being a sore loser, throwing him against the steps,” Dominik Mysterio continued. “I thought that was pretty cool. I was like, alright, this is a done deal. Randy’s got it in the bag. But no. But anyways, I’m excited for the Rumble, man. The Rumble’s been one of my favorite pay-per-views of all time, for sure.”
Rey Mysterio Wants To Repeat History, Win Royal Rumble For Eddie Guerrero
WWE fans are buzzing with excitement as the Royal Rumble approaches, with one superstar in particular aiming to make history in honor of his late friend and mentor, Eddie Guerrero. Rey Mysterio, known for his high-flying acrobatics and incredible in-ring skills, has set his sights on winning the Royal Rumble match and dedicating the victory to the memory of Guerrero.
Mysterio and Guerrero shared a close bond both inside and outside of the ring, with Guerrero serving as a mentor and inspiration to Mysterio throughout his career. Guerrero tragically passed away in 2005, leaving a lasting impact on the wrestling world and on Mysterio personally.
Now, as the Royal Rumble approaches, Mysterio is determined to honor Guerrero’s memory by capturing the victory in the iconic match. With his impressive track record in past Royal Rumble events, including a win in 2006, Mysterio is considered a top contender to come out on top once again.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Mysterio’s performance in the Royal Rumble match, hoping to see him make history and pay tribute to his friend and mentor in a truly special way. As the anticipation builds, all eyes will be on Mysterio as he steps into the ring with the hopes of repeating history and winning the Royal Rumble for Eddie Guerrero.

Jeremy Stephens and Eddie Alvarez face off ahead of their BKFC KnuckleMania V main event in Philadelphia. (Photo via BKFC)
Uncrowned has BKFC KnuckleMania 5 live results, round-by-round updates, start time, highlights, live stream and more for the Eddie Alvarez vs. Jeremy Stephens fight card on Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Alvarez faces Stephens in a battle of UFC veterans in the main event, while fellow UFC vet Ben Rothwell challenges for the BKFC heavyweight title in the co-headliner.
Alvarez is a former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion who is 1-1 over his first two bare-knuckle boxing appearances. “The Underground King” captured a thrilling split decision over three-time UFC title challenger Chad Mendes in his April 2023 debut before suffering a TKO loss to Mike Perry in December of the same year. A Philadelphia product through and through, Alvarez returns home to fight in his native city for the first time since a successful Bellator title defense against Roger Huerta in 2010.
Stephens is a perfect 2-0 in the bare-knuckle boxing ring since making his BKFC debut in late 2023 with a win over another UFC veteran, Jimmie Rivera. Stephens also captured a decision win over Bobby Taylor this past September. Over the course of his 14-year UFC career, Stephens fought in the sixth-most bouts in promotional history (34) and tied UFC legend Anderson Silva for the second-most knockdowns in UFC history.
Rothwell challenges BKFC heavyweight titleholder Mick Terrill for the ultimate big-boy strap in the night’s championship co-main event.
The BKFC KnuckleMania 5 preliminary card begins at 8 p.m. ET and can be watched on Uncrowned below. The main card is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET and airs on DAZN.
Follow all the action with Uncrowned’s live results, highlights and play-by-play of the top three bouts below.

Of course, “The Underground King” makes that walk to the Rocky theme song. Beautiful. This crowd is loving it. Big fight feel here to this one.
Here comes Jeremy Stephens
Huge boos for the invading challenger. He’s been terrorizing Philly fans all week. Stellar heel work, tbh.
But first…
Nicolena does the honors with the National Anthem. The less said about this, the better. It was … not great.
Main event is all that’s left
Here we go, y’all. This Philly crowd has been red-hot all night — but man, they are going to EXPLODE for their native son Eddie Alvarez.
Let’s do this.
Rothwell post-fight
“I have been doing this in combat sports for 25 years and I’m telling you, your energy was in my right hand and you helped me win this title!”
This man is FIRED UP.
Official result
Heavyweight title: Ben Rothwell def. Mick Terrill via first-round KO (:36).
What a shot
A perfect right hand is the shot that did it. Terrill dropped instantly. Man. That’s a big, big boy in there. Ben Rothwell was born for bare-knuckle boxing.
Mick Terrill vs. Ben Rothwell – Round 1
Andrew Glenn is our referee. No touch of hands for this one. We’re off. Rothwell jabs to the body early. And an immediate eyepoke by Rothwell. Ooof, that was a nasty one. OK, we’re back.
OOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! BIG BEN DOES IT! ONE-SHOT KO!!!! That was MONSTROUS!!! My goodness. Y’all, we have a new heavyweight champ.
And here comes the champ
Mick Terrill with the decidedly less theatrical walkout. He’s the picture of focus, though. This should be fun. Big boys up next!
Walkouts!
“Big” Ben Rothwell enters the ring under his Dark Lord guise, draped in a Sith lord robe as absurdly dramatic music plays over the loudspeaker. I love this man so much.
Heavyweight title up next!
It’s time for the big boys: UFC veteran Ben Rothwell gets his long-awaited title shot against BKFC heavyweight champion Mick Terrill.
Bec Rawlings post-fight
Rawlings begs BKFC to book her more in 2025 after not fighting since December 2023. After a performance like that, I suspect she’ll get her wish.
Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings — official result
Flyweight: Bec Rawlings def. Taylor Starling via unanimous decision (50-44, 49-45, 50-44).
Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings – Round 5
Rawlings lunges inside with a combination. Starling returns fire and they’re both eating shots now. This is a war. Nice head movement from Rawlings as she dances inside the pocket. Rawlings resets and connects with a nasty right hand. OH! Another right hand BLASTS Starling to the canvas! The referee rules that a slip, but I don’t know, that looked clean. Either way, Starling’s face is a bloody mess. Rawlings continues to wade forward with punches and pressure. Hell of a showing from the UFC veteran Rawlings.
10-9 Rawlings. 50-44 Rawlings.
Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings – Round 4
Rawlings immediately resumes her forward pressure. She’s stalking here. One-two lands for Rawlings. Starling tries to throw back and connects hard. Rawlings goes body-head but Starling returns fire! Both women are wearing the damage now. Big mouse developing under Starling’s right eye. Another right hand slips through for Rawlings. Starling misses with two of her own. Rawlings is setting up everything with bodywork. They wade into the pocket and just start trading.
10-9 Rawlings. 40-35 Rawlings.
Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings – Round 3
Nasty right hand flies down the pipe for Rawlings. Starling eats another right hand. The action has slowed here in round three. Rawlings punches her way into the clinch then resets. Nothing coming back from Starling at this point. Stiff right hand lands again for Rawlings. And another. Starling finally connects with a few short punches.
10-9 Rawlings. 30-26 Rawlings.
Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings – Round 2
Sneaky counter right hand was the punch that dropped Starling in the first. We’re back at it now. Monster right hand connects for Rawlings. She continues to paw out that right hand. Everything is landing right now for Rawlings. Rawlings works the body. Starling whiffs on a big overhand right. Another flurry from Rawlings.
10-9 Rawlings. 20-17 Rawlings.
Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings – Round 1
Here we go, we’ve reached our top three fights of the night. Starling and Rawlings collide in the center of the ring and stand toe-to-toe. Big punches from Rawlings! She catches a charging Starling and drops her!
Starling is back up and swinging. Rawlings catches her again, but Starling eats it. More punches land on the button for Rawlings. She’s advancing, working off the front foot. Big round for Rawlings.
10-8 Rawlings.

Newcastle United are looking to sign an attacker with a real eye for goal.
The Magpies have been fortunate enough to have Alexander Isak at their disposal this season. The Swede is the Premier League’s third-highest scorer with 15, only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah have more.
Despite Isak’s fine form, they struggle to find where the goals come from if he is not available. Anthony Gordon is having a fine season thanks to his 10-goal contributions in the league. However, there are just five other players who have scored for Newcastle this season, the lowest in the Premier League.
William Osula showed signs that he has a chance to replace Isak in the future thanks to his wonderful goal in Newcastle’s win against Bromley. Elsewhere, Callum Wilson is out injured and is out of contract in the summer, so there is a need to buy.
With Newcastle eyeing a quality striker, there is one name who keeps cropping up. Now, a recent report has stated that the Magpies sent an executive to watch him recently.

Newcastle send scout to watch Jonathan David
LOSC Lille forward Jonathan David has been in exceptional form for the French side this season. He is joint-top scorer in Ligue 1 with 11 goals to his name.
David; who has been hailed as a “superstar”, has also had a fantastic run in the Champions League, scoring six goals in 10 games across the qualifiers and the league phase.
Newcastle want to sign David who is out of contract in the summer. Early signs suggest the 25-year-old does not want to stay at Lille and will look for a move away upon the expiry of his contract.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle were represented by a high-level club employee at Lille’s game against Nice on Friday.
Nikos Mavromaras; David’s agent, has stated that his client is open to options around Europe.
The report states that qualifying for the Champions League would give Newcastle a massive boost in the race to sign David.
The scouting mission is a sign that Eddie Howe is keen to gain the advantage in the race to sign the forward who also has interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Newcastle must splash the cash for David
Although David will be available on a free, he is still expected to come with a hefty wage bill. The same Chronicle report states that David is demanding around £120,000 per week from interested parties.
That wage would make him one of the highest earners at the club, but not the highest. That title currently belongs to Bruno Guimaraes who earns around £160,000 per week.

A bonus for Newcastle is that David can also play as a winger. The Magpies are keen to sign a winger with Miguel Almiron’s Newcastle departure imminent.
It allows Newcastle to form a formidable front line of Gordon, Isak and David. An attacking line-up most Premier League clubs would surely be fearful of.

Eddie George: full-time college football head coach, part-time comedian.
In an appearance on The Big College Football Show with former Notre Dame wide receiver Tim Brown, the former Ohio State running back and current Tennessee State head coach had to remind Brown and the audience of his iconic moment in the Buckeyes’ win over the Irish in 1995.
The picture behind George is of his 61-yard run in the game’s fourth quarter. A few moments later, George punched the ball into the end zone for one of his two touchdowns in the contest. His final box score totals were 32 carries for 207 yards and two scores as Ohio State defeated Notre Dame 45-26 in Columbus.
The Buckeyes’ 1995 win over the Irish is one of six victories in the all-time series between the schools. They also won regular-season games in 1996, 2022 and 2023 and the Fiesta Bowl in 2006 and 2016. Notre Dame beat Ohio State in their regular-season matchups in 1935 and 1936.
During a recent podcast appearance, former NFL running back Eddie George couldn’t resist throwing a little shade at Hall of Famer Tim Brown. The trolling moment came when George brought up their iconic matchup during the 1995 Ohio State-Notre Dame game.
In a playful jab, George shared a photo of himself stiff-arming Brown during the game, with the caption “Just a little reminder of who came out on top that day #GoBucks.”
The photo quickly went viral on social media, with fans and followers chiming in with their reactions. Some praised George for his competitive spirit, while others laughed at the good-natured banter between the two legends.
Despite the friendly rivalry, it’s clear that both George and Brown have nothing but respect for each other. And who knows, maybe this trolling moment will spark a friendly rematch on the podcast airwaves in the future. Eddie Howe will be nervous about holding onto star striker Alexander Isak at Newcastle as his fine goalscoring form continues.
That’s according to talkSPORT’s Tony Cascarino with Premier League clubs potentially set their sights on a move for the Magpies’ talent.

Isak was in excellent form for Newcastle with three goals at IpswichCredit: Getty
Isak scored a hat-trick in Newcastle’s 4-0 win at Ipswich Town on Saturday, with his first coming in the opening minute.
The Sweden international has now netted in his last four consecutive league games, although linked with an exit to a rival club.
Arsenal have been regularly linked with Isak ever since he signed for Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022.
With the January transfer window around the corner, speculation is set to increase but Howe is confident of being able to keep him.
MORE ON THE PREMIER LEAGUE
“Yeah I am,” he told talkSPORT. “I think we’re trying to build, I say many times every transfer window that comes round, we’re trying to build.
“And I think this window for us is probably more about getting the best out of the players that we have rather than looking externally.
“I don’t see us doing huge business, incomings, so it goes without saying, we want to keep our best players.”
talkSPORT understands that Newcastle are under pressure to sell players in January amid Profit and Sustainability [PSR] fears.
However, Weekend Sports Breakfast’s Cascarino senses Howe is nervy of the interest in Isak, saying: “It’s quite clear, Eddie Howe is nervous.
“You know, ‘We can’t do much business, it’s important we keep the best players we can,’ and I totally get that by Eddie. He’s got a challenge, he’s going to have to fight off a number of clubs and whether they make a bid in excess of £100million, if that happens…
“One thing in the paper that Eddie quotes as well, because this says a lot, he said he’s also very popular in the dressing room with the Newcastle lads.

Howe could be forced to bid farewell to his star manCredit: Getty
“He spoke about not only his goalscoring but he actually said he’s very popular there as well, so he would be a huge loss.”
Isak’s ten Premier League goals have him sitting joint-fourth in the standings this season with Bryan Mbeumo and Chris Wood.
Only Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer have netted more than the trio.
Isak has also reached a total of 47 goals in 86 appearances for Newcastle, with the forward now in his third season at St. James’ Park.
A January move may prove difficult for interested clubs given it the transfer window comes halfway through the campaign.
However, Newcastle could find it even tougher to keep hold of Isak in the summer should he maintain his success in front of goal.

Eddie Howe ‘nervous’ that he could lose Alexander Isak amid Premier League rival links
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has expressed his concerns about the future of star striker Alexander Isak, as Premier League rivals reportedly circle around the talented forward.
Isak, who has been in scintillating form for Bournemouth this season, has caught the eye of several top-flight clubs with his impressive performances. Howe, who has been instrumental in the development of the young Swede, is understandably anxious about the prospect of losing him to a rival team.
Speaking to reporters, Howe admitted, “I am nervous about the situation with Isak. He is a key player for us and has been crucial to our success this season. It would be a huge blow to lose him, especially to a Premier League rival.”
Despite the mounting interest in Isak, Howe remains hopeful that the club can hold onto their prized asset. Bournemouth are reportedly in talks with the striker over a new contract in a bid to fend off potential suitors.
However, with the lure of playing in the Premier League proving difficult to resist, Howe knows that he faces a tough battle to convince Isak to stay at the Vitality Stadium.
As the transfer window approaches, Bournemouth fans will be keeping a close eye on developments surrounding Isak’s future, with the fear of losing him to a rival club looming large. Howe will be hoping that his star striker remains committed to the Cherries as they continue their push for promotion to the top flight.

Favorite Artislas earned his second stakes victory Sunday after prevailing in a stretch-long battle with stubborn pacesetter Fomo Joe in the $100,000 Eddie Logan Stakes for 2-year-olds going a mile on turf at Santa Anita.
With Flavien Prat aboard for the first time, Artislas won by a neck over Fomo Joe with another 2½ lengths back to Sabertooth in third. For Prat, it was his record-extending 82nd stakes win this year.
Fomo Joe, ridden by Adrian Escobedo, set a pedestrian pace of :24.26 and :51.16 for the opening half mile as Artislas settled in midpack while racing on the outside. Down the backstretch, Frankie Dettori on European import Precision (GB) sensed the slow pace and made an early move to challenge Fomo Joe on the lead.
Fomo Joe failed to wilt with the added pressure, however. He continued on the lead through six furlongs in 1:15.02 and then into the stretch. By that point, Artislas and Prat had started their rally. Artislas ranged up to Fomo Joe and eventually edged past that rival to earn the victory.
Trained by Jeff Mullins, Artislas won in a time of 1:37.70.
“There was a lot going on,” Prat said. “I don’t know what the first quarter was, but it felt like we were going at a pretty good clip and then things slowed down. I was uncovered, but we were going so slow I was OK where I was. Frankie made a move down the backstretch and it changed the whole dynamics of the race. But my horse made a good run. He has a good turn of foot.”
By Cataline Cruiser, Artislas won the Del Mar Juvenile Turf (G3) in September when making his second start. He also crossed the wire first in the Zuma Beach (G3) at Santa Anita on Oct. 6 but was disqualified and placed third due to bumping near the wire.
Most recently, Artislas tried the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Stakes going a mile on turf at Del Mar Nov. 14. He was marooned in post 12 to start that day and was never a factor.
“We only had to go three wide (this time), we had to go 10 wide last time so it is a big difference,” Mullins said. “A big field at Del Mar is pretty rough, so you go chasing the slow pace. Even though you’re on the outside, it is still going to wear you down. We just put a line through that race and gave him plenty of time to recover and waited for here.”
Artislas, bred by the University of Kentucky from the Into Mischief mare Moms Pride (FR), is owned by Irving Ventures LLC, Michele Arthur, William Meathe, and Jeanne Tumanjan. He improved to 5-3-0-1 and improved his lifetime bankroll to $177,500.
Michael Pender, agent, purchased Artislas for $100,000 at the OBS March Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, where he was presented in the Omar Ramirez Bloodstock consignment.
