  • Angel Reese becomes first player ejected in Unrivaled history

Angel Reese made some history Saturday night, becoming the first player ejected from an Unrivaled game.

Reese, playing for her Rose Basketball Club in the new 3×3 women’s basketball league, was ejected after receiving back-to-back technical fouls in the second quarter of her team’s game against the Laces. A referee called Reese for a foul while she was guarding Tiffany Hayes, who fell to the floor while dribbling toward the basket.

After the call, Reese repeatedly waved her hand in the direction of both the official on the baseline who made the call and Hayes. The official — appearing to think the motion was directed at him — called the first technical foul. Reese was then handed the second tech after arguing with the officials.

The WNBA star took to social media after the game, which the Rose won 83-69, writing a series of posts on X about the incident. “Free me,” she wrote in one post, commenting on a video of her after the ejection. In another: “Happy (Black History Month). Y’all know I had to be the first.”

Reese had 15 rebounds, six points and three assists in seven minutes before the ejection. Chelsea Gray, who had 28 points, eight assists and three rebounds, was named the Player of the Game.

Unrivaled’s season takes place during the WNBA offseason as an option for players to expand their games. The league features 36 players (six players per team) and includes many of the top WNBA players, such as league co-founders Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, as well as Reese, who recently wrapped up her rookie season with the Chicago Sky.

Reese, who plays for Team Supreme, was involved in a heated altercation with an opponent during the game. After receiving her first technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct, she continued to argue with the referees and was subsequently given a second technical foul, resulting in her ejection from the game.

This incident has sparked a debate among fans and analysts, with some questioning Reese’s behavior on the court and others defending her passion for the game. • Jaden McDaniels pokes Suns’ Devin Booker, gets ejected

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels was ejected with 20 seconds remaining in Wednesday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns after poking Suns guard Devin Booker in the face at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

McDaniels and Booker were sharing some words throughout the game. During a sequence in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, McDaniels poked Booker in the face, and both players were hit with technical fouls. McDaniels, however, was also ejected because of the contact with Booker’s face. The Wolves, though, already secured their 121-113 win.

If that wasn’t weird enough, it wasn’t even the first ejection of the game. Timberwolves coach Chris Finch was ejected during the third quarter after picking up his second technical foul of the game. Finch was furious as he exited, but his fiery outburst appeared to spark the Wolves, who shortly after took their largest lead of the game and put away the Suns.

In a heated matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns, tensions boiled over as Jaden McDaniels found himself in hot water after poking Suns’ star Devin Booker.

The incident occurred in the third quarter when McDaniels, frustrated with a call, approached Booker and gave him a playful poke on the chest. However, the referees deemed the action as unsportsmanlike and gave McDaniels a technical foul, resulting in his ejection from the game.

The ejection came as a blow to the Timberwolves, who were already trailing the Suns by a significant margin. McDaniels’ absence only added to their struggles as they ultimately fell to Phoenix.

While the poke may have been intended as harmless banter, it serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining composure on the court. Emotions can run high in competitive games, but players must remember to channel their energy in a positive and respectful manner.

As for McDaniels, he will likely face disciplinary action from the league for his actions. Hopefully, this incident serves as a learning experience for the young player and he can move forward with a renewed focus on sportsmanship and fair play.

  • Multiple players ejected after fight in LSU vs. Oklahoma

The women’s basketball game between LSU and Oklahoma on Thursday got heated early. Two players were tossed from the game in the first quarter (Sa’Myah Smith and Liz Scott), after Smith shoved Beatrice Culliton, then Liz Scott came in and shoved Smith. Both sides were chippy early in the game.

Here’s the video of the scuffle.

Officials eventually went to the monitor to settle things out and issued double technicals, one for each player (Sa’Myah Smith and Liz Scott), ejecting both from the contest.

The scuffle started because Sa’Myah Smith and Beatrice Culliton were battling for position on the low block. At the end of a wild first quarter, Oklahoma led LSU 23-20. LSU’s Aneesah Morrow had seven points and two rebounds. Tigers star Flau’jae Johnson only had one point in the first quarter.

The first half between OU and LSU was chaotic, to say the least. We not only had players get ejected from both teams. But there was also a technical foul assessed to Sooners head coach Jennie Barancyzk. And there was a flagrant foul charged to LSU’s Aalyah Del Rosario, after she delivered an elbow to the neck Raegan Beers. That all happened before the end of the first half in Baton Rouge.

LSU women’s basketball continues to dominate the sport, sitting at 21-1 overall and 6-1 in the SEC.

In a highly anticipated matchup between LSU and Oklahoma, multiple players were ejected after a heated altercation on the field. The incident occurred in the third quarter when tensions boiled over between the two teams.

The scuffle started after a hard hit on the quarterback, leading to players from both sides exchanging words and shoving each other. The situation quickly escalated into a full-blown brawl, with punches being thrown and players being restrained by officials and teammates.

In the end, several players from both teams were ejected for their involvement in the altercation. The ejections further fueled the intensity of the game, with both teams playing with a renewed sense of passion and aggression.

The fight serves as a reminder of the intense rivalries and emotions that can run high in college football. It also underscores the importance of sportsmanship and maintaining composure in the heat of the moment.

Despite the ejections, the game continued on, with both teams giving it their all until the final whistle. In the end, LSU emerged victorious, but the fight will surely be a topic of discussion in the days to come.

  • Pistons vs Pacers: Isaiah Stewart ejected

INDIANAPOLIS — After their Jan. 16 game ended with lots of heated conversation and posturing, the Pacers and Pistons are already going at it and have already drawn double technical fouls and one player has been ejected.

Pistons center Isaiah Stewart — who made fun of Pacers center Myles Turner for his Lego-building hobby in the last verbal skirmish — got into it with Pacers veteran James Johnson Jr., known around the NBA as the guy no one wants to fight. Stewart and Johnson were assessed double technical fouls. The incident came with 3:32 to play in the first quarter and the Pacers leading 31-22.

Later in the second quarter, Stewart hit Pacers big man with an forearm to the chest and knocked him over. Stewart was immediately sent to the Pistons’ bench and Bryant got up ready to get after him but was held back. Officials ruled that the action involved a wind-up and was an unnecessary action and therefore a Flagrant 2 foul, leading to Stewart’s ejection. He was booed heartily on his way off the floor. Ben Sheppard seemed to wave goodbye to him as he was leaving and Stewart pointed out him forcefully as he entered the tunnel to the visitor’s locker room.

The Pistons’ Cade Cunningham then drew a techincal with 7:06 to play in the second quarter.

In a heated matchup between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, Isaiah Stewart was ejected after a scuffle on the court. 3 Players Get Ejected After Fight During Mavericks-Suns Following Offensive Foul

The Dallas Mavericks have mounted a big lead over the Phoenix Suns, leading by double digits early in the second half. As the Mavericks had secured some momentum and things were going right, a scuffle ensued.

Suns center Jusuf Nurkic was backing down Mavericks forward Naji Marshall before running him over with his size. Marshall took exception to Nurkic’s physicality, which led to the Suns center slapping Marshall in the face.

Of course, Marshall took exception to that and swung for a punch. A small scuffle then ensued before it was broken up. Nurkic, Marshall and PJ Washington were ejected following the situation.

Led by Kyrie Irving and Daniel Gafford — with Luka Doncic set to be sidelined for a month — the Mavericks are building a good lead and are set to finish the game strong.

The Mavericks are going to need every hand on deck and every win possible with Doncic sidelined, as a poor month could certainly throw their season off course. A win over the Suns on the road to start the Doncic-less month would be huge.
