There’s always fun to be had around the Super Bowl. Between the commercials, the halftime show, and all the pageantry around the game, the NFL always goes all out.
As a part of this year’s festivities, FanDuel Sportsbook is pitting New York Giants great Eli Manning against his brother, Peyton Manning, in the Kick Of Destiny.
So what is the Kick Of Destiny? The two quarterbacks will compete to prove that they could do Adam Vinatieri and Lawrence Tynes’ jobs, and go head-to-head in a competition of 25-yard field goals attempts.
(It’s worth noting that extra points are 33-yard kicks.)
Rules
- Peyton and Eli Manning will face off in a field goal kicking competition.
- Each kicker will attempt a 25-yard kick.
- If the first kicker makes, the second kicker is given a chance to tie.
- If the first kicker misses, the second kicker is given a chance to win.
- If both kickers miss, they will kick again until there is a winner.
- If no winner is decided after three rounds, the kicker who kicked it closest to the center target on the net in the last round wins the tiebreaker.
SB Nation reacts asked fans who would come out on top, with the majority voting for the younger Manning.
The Brothers Manning are among the most prolific quarterbacks in NFL history. But unlike triple-threat George Blanda, Eli and Peyton were quarterback specialists.
But as we all know, being a multi-discipline athlete requires athleticism. Eli has always been the more athletic of the two — recall the time Eli outran reigning DPOY and HOF pass rusher Jason Taylor for a touchdown. Being a successful kicker also demands the cool, calm demeanor to not let nerves impact the process, and Eli was well-known as one of the most clutch quarterbacks of all time. Easy E is famous for his steady keel and imperviousness to pressure.
That all works in Eli’s favor, and hopefully he’ll get the ultimate bragging rights over Peyton.

As part of the competition, the Manning brothers will both attempt a 25-yard field goal. If the first contestant makes the kick, the second will have a chance to tie; likewise, if he misses, the second is kicking for the victory. If no winner is decided after three rounds, the Manning who came closest to the center target in the last round will win on a tiebreaker.
For the last two years, New England Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski was attempting the kick. He missed both years.
With the highly anticipated “Kick of Destiny 3” season just around the corner, NFL fans are showing a renewed sense of optimism for veteran quarterback Eli Manning. Despite some critics questioning Manning’s ability to lead his team to victory, fans are bullish on his potential to make a comeback and prove his doubters wrong.Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champion and former MVP, has faced his fair share of criticism in recent years. However, with a revamped offensive line and a new coaching staff in place, fans believe that Manning has the tools necessary to succeed in the upcoming season.
Many fans are excited to see Manning back on the field and are confident that he still has what it takes to lead his team to success. With his experience and leadership skills, Manning has the potential to surprise everyone and have a standout season.
As the countdown to “Kick of Destiny 3” continues, NFL fans are eagerly anticipating Manning’s return to the field and are ready to support him every step of the way. With their unwavering belief in Manning’s abilities, fans are hopeful that he will once again prove himself as one of the league’s top quarterbacks.

Giants legend Eli Manning has QB prospect ‘under (his) wing’ — and he loves New York
The Giants will likely take a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, but who? That’s anybody’s guess.
The leading candidate seems to be Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders if he’s available at No. 3. If he’s not, then perhaps the Giants should consider waiting until the second round, where Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart is likely to be available.
Giants legend Eli Manning, who also played for Ole Miss, has already admitted he likes Dart to The New York Post last week.
“I’ve been around him and [he’s] been a great kid, been in the same offense for three years and been successful,” Manning said. “Seen him grow and progress and seems to be able to make all the throws.’’

But their connection runs deeper than the university they played for.
Aside from attending the Manning Passing Academy, where he rubbed shoulders with Archie Manning and his sons Peyton and Eli, Dart has grown close with the elder Manning, he reveals In a feature by Paul Schwarts of The Post.
“I would say the closest I’ve got was with Archie,” Dart said, via The Post. “Eli has been great with me as well. They reach out to me consistently throughout the season, it’s really every week. They just know so much. They have so much experience, so much wisdom. I’ve been blessed to kind of be under their wing.’’
Dart is currently the No. 6-ranked quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class, per ESPN NFL draft analyst Jordan Reid. Miami’s Cam Ward is ranked first with Sanders coming in second.
This season, his 4,279 passing yards ranks third among quarterbacks with at least 300 pass attempts. Dart’s 29 touchdowns and six interceptions allowed him to post the best passer rating (180.7) in college football.

NFL Draft 2025: This QB could be Giants’ next Eli Manning — and it’s not Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward
Twenty-one years ago, the Giants drafted a quarterback from Mississippi — Eli Manning — and he wound up bringing them two Super Bowl championships.
Now, they need a franchise quarterback again. Could they find that guy at Ole Miss?
Well, if they do, it would be a much bigger surprise than what Manning accomplished. But Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart — who, like Manning, was a three-year college starter — is generating some buzz leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft.
Remember, the Giants draft third, behind two quarterback-needy teams (Titans and Browns). So Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward could both be gone by No. 3. If that happens, what might Giants general manager Joe Schoen do?
He would have a few options, depending on how he addressed quarterback in free agency (or via a trade). But if he picks a non-Sanders/Ward quarterback at No. 3, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe might be in the mix. He is Pro Football Focus’ fourth-rated quarterback in this draft, behind Ward, Sanders, and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel (who is 67th overall, one spot higher than Milroe).
Meanwhile, Dart is not particularly well regarded by PFF — 13th among quarterbacks and 202nd overall. (So it’s possible the Giants could trade back from No. 3 and still get him.)
But longtime draft analyst Todd McShay — former of ESPN, now with The Ringer — is high on Dart, for what it’s worth.
Here’s what McShay recently tweeted:
Just wrapped up two tapes on Jaxson Dart (LSU, SC ‘24). Neither were great stat-line gms and LSU was a loss, but a LOT of positive takeaways. His natural ball placement is underrated and he shows a lot of awareness on certain throws. Really excited to share more throughout Senior Bowl week, but don’t be surprised if Dart winds up as QB3 in this class!
As McShay mentioned, there’s still a lot of time before the draft begins on April 24. So a lot can change between now and then — with the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine still ahead.
The first of three days of Senior Bowl practices happens Tuesday in Mobile, Ala., ahead of the game there Saturday. And Dart is one of the top prospects in Mobile this year.
Here is CBSSports.com’s breakdown of Dart:
Few quarterbacks have the history of production that Dart boasts. Over the course of his career, which began at USC, he has thrown for more than 10,000 yards and 81 touchdowns. Teams will be interested to see how he responds to coaching and how quickly he picks up the offense. Dart will be in that conversation to be the third quarterback off the board.
Dart is on the American team’s roster for the Senior Bowl. Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka is the head coach for the National team. Four other Giants assistants are coaching in Mobile this week. Most notably, running backs coach Joel Thomas is the American team’s offensive coordinator. So he’ll get a chance to have some serious exposure to Dart.
Milroe also is on the American team, while Gabriel is on the National team. Those are the three most notable quarterbacks in Mobile this week, though you could probably also throw in Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard, who is sixth among quarterbacks on PFF’s big board.

With the 2025 NFL Draft quickly approaching, all eyes are on the New York Giants as they search for their next franchise quarterback. While prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward have garnered a lot of attention, there is another quarterback who could potentially fill the shoes of the legendary Eli Manning. This mystery quarterback has been making waves in the college football world with his pinpoint accuracy, strong arm, and natural leadership abilities. Many scouts and analysts believe he has the potential to be a game-changer at the next level, much like Manning was for the Giants.
While his name may not be as recognizable as Sanders or Ward, this quarterback has shown tremendous growth and potential throughout his college career, and many believe he could be the answer to the Giants’ quarterback woes.
As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, all eyes will be on the Giants as they look to secure their future at the quarterback position. Could this under-the-radar prospect be the next Eli Manning? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates as the draft draws near.

“I just think you just got to be a little more patient,” Manning said Thursday at a charity event when asked about his thought process watching the Giants season pan out. “Everybody’s in a quick decision to get rid of people and without necessarily a game plan to get someone, you know. Who else are you gonna get? Is there someone better out there? You can’t just keep changing over on coaches and management and expect better results. That said, Schoen needs to think long and hard before pulling the trigger on a trade up. Eli Manning eager to help Giants in search for next QB
The Giants need to find a quarterback.
If the best one in franchise history is asked, he will help in the search.
“I like watching film,’’ Eli Manning said Thursday. “If that’s something I’m wanted for, needed for, be happy to look at film and get involved in that part of it.’’
Eli Manning attends a Guiding Eyes for the Blind event on Jan. 23, 2025. Getty Images Yes, Manning remains tied to the team he lined up for at quarterback for 16 years and led to two Super Bowl triumphs in what is loosely described as a “business operations and fan engagement’’ role.
No, he does not delve into evaluating players or scouting or mentoring.
But he knows more about the position than most, and it would be wise for general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll to, at the very least, run some ideas through one of the sharpest players to ever don a Giants uniform.
Every now and then, there is an inquiry.
“Yes, I mean a little bit, just over the years, just guys I’ve been around, whether it’s Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss or quarterbacks over the years who have been to the Manning Passing Academy,’’ Manning said. “Just what kind of person they are, kind of more off-the-field stuff than maybe on the field.’’
The Giants own the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and if Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders is on the board, it will be difficult for the Giants to pass either of them up considering they have one quarterback under contract (exclusive rights free agent Tommy DeVito) for next season.
There is a glaring need for a starting quarterback, whether that player arrives via free agency or, preferably, in the draft.
This situation arose for the Giants in 2004 when they swung a mega-deal to acquire Manning, who had been the No. 1 overall pick that year by the Chargers.
How he fared as an NFL novice came up when Manning was in Manhattan to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Ten, a guide dog named for Manning, being paired with Thomas Panek, the CEO and President of Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
Panek said he goes on marathon runs together with Ten, a soon-to-be 3-year-old yellow Labrador retriever.
“He’s looking less like a rookie and he’s been doing a really great job,’’ Panek said. “He’s definitely growing into his number. Doesn’t have 16 seasons ahead of him yet but Season 1 was a real success.’’
Manning, beaming nearby, added, “I bet he had a better rookie season than I did.’’
Joe Schoen speaks to the media on July 24, 2025. Robert Sabo for NY Post No one knows better than Manning what it takes to survive as a young quarterback in the New York/New Jersey market.
When he finally got the call to start, Manning lost his first six starts — many in woeful fashion — before notching his first NFL victory, in the season finale.
“It’s not an easy situation,’’ Manning said. “A lot of pressure, a lot of expectations and being in New York, really being around the NFL, they expect immediate results, which is not easy to do, in any market playing the quarterback position. It will be interesting to see what route they take and who they get to play quarterback next year for the Giants. Hopefully they can get someone to make a difference. Because you see it this year, when you get a young quarterback playing at a high level, they can make a big difference for an organization.’’
Manning clearly was referring to Jayden Daniels, the electric first-year quarterback who has the Commanders in Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Eagles.
“Hopefully, with their system they’ll get a guy who can pick it up quickly and put him in the right situation to make plays,’’ Manning said. “I feel they have some playmakers with [Malik] Nabers and [Tyrone] Tracy and some young guys. When you get those young guys on that first rookie contract that are a big part of the offense on the team, that can make a big difference.’’
As a former star at Ole Miss, Manning has a natural affinity for Dart, who is likely the No. 3 or 4 quarterback on many draft boards.
Eli Manning attends a Guiding Eyes for the Blind event on Jan. 23, 2025. Getty Images “I like Jaxson Dart,’’ Manning said. “I’ve probably watched him more than anybody, just from watching Ole Miss games. I’ve been around him and [he’s] been a great kid, been in the same offense for three years and been successful. Seen him grow and progress and seems to be able to make all the throws.’’
Whoever it ends up being, he will be needed sooner rather than later.
“Can they process quickly, can they come in and learn this offense and the NFL schemes to be able to be effective as a young quarterback?’’ Manning said. “I think that’s the difference. You’re not sitting there saying ‘Hey, this guy is gonna be the best quarterback in five years.’ You want a guy who’s gonna develop quickly and be effective in the first two years.’’
That happened with Manning.
By his second season, he was helping the Giants to a record of 11-5 and a playoff berth.
But, it is painfully obvious that replacing Manning is not an easy assignment for the Giants to complete.
Eli Manning, the two-time Super Bowl champion and longtime quarterback for the New York Giants, may have officially retired from playing on the field, but he is still very much involved in helping the team in their search for their next franchise quarterback.Manning, who played 16 seasons with the Giants and holds numerous franchise records, has been working closely with the team’s front office and coaching staff to provide insight and advice on potential quarterback prospects in the upcoming NFL draft.
Despite no longer being the starting quarterback, Manning’s experience and knowledge of the game make him a valuable asset in evaluating and mentoring young quarterbacks. He has expressed his eagerness to pass on his wisdom and help the Giants find their next leader under center.
With Manning’s guidance and support, the Giants are surely in good hands as they navigate the crucial decision of selecting their future quarterback. Fans can rest assured that Manning’s dedication to the team and his passion for the game will continue to shine through in his new role off the field.

Eli Manning willing to help New York Giants evaluate quarterbacks
The New York Giants enter the offseason with a singular goal in mind: Find the next franchise quarterback.
That player could be signed as a free agent, acquired via trade, or selected in the 2025 NFL draft. There could even be multiple quarterbacks added in an effort to develop one while another serves as a bridge.
However the Giants plan to approach it, retired legend Eli Manning is offering his help in evaluating the many options.
“I like watching film,” Manning said, via the New York Post. “If that’s something I’m wanted for, needed for, be happy to look at film and get involved in that part of it.”
Although Manning still works for the Giants in a business operations and fan engagement role, he is not currently involved in any sort of scouting. However, he has occasionally been asked for his input over the years.
“Yes, I mean a little bit, just over the years, just guys I’ve been around, whether it’s Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss or quarterbacks over the years who have been to the Manning Passing Academy,” he said. “Just what kind of person they are, kind of more off-the-field stuff than maybe on the field.”
Because of the Manning Passing Academy, Eli does have significant firsthand knowledge of most quarterback prospects. At some point or another, many cycle through the academy at least once with several making a multitude of appearances.
That also provides Manning the opportunity to converse with the young quarterbacks who are headed to the NFL. And should the Giants hone in on anyone specific, Manning could get into their ear and help them understand the pressure that comes along with playing in New York.
“It’s not an easy situation,” he said. “A lot of pressure, a lot of expectations and being in New York, really being around the NFL, they expect immediate results, which is not easy to do, in any market playing the quarterback position.
“It will be interesting to see what route they take and who they get to play quarterback next year for the Giants. Hopefully, they can get someone to make a difference. Because you see it this year, when you get a young quarterback playing at a high level, they can make a big difference for an organization.”
Without actually dipping his toe into any scouting waters, Manning admits he has a personal favorite in the upcoming class. Who that player is should come as little surprise.
“I like Jaxson Dart,” Manning said. “I’ve probably watched him more than anybody, just from watching Ole Miss games. I’ve been around him and (he’s) been a great kid, been in the same offense for three years and been successful. Seen him grow and progress and seems to be able to make all the throws.”
Ultimately, Manning says, whoever the Giants decide on must be able to “develop quickly and be effective in the first two years.”
After announcing his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning is not done with the game of football just yet. In a recent interview, Manning expressed his willingness to help his former team, the New York Giants, evaluate quarterbacks for the upcoming season. As a former quarterback for the Giants for 16 seasons, Manning has a wealth of knowledge and experience that could be invaluable in assessing potential draft picks or free agent signings. Manning’s understanding of the game, leadership skills, and ability to read defenses could provide valuable insights for the Giants’ front office as they look to strengthen their quarterback position.
While Manning may not be directly involved in the decision-making process, his input could be a valuable asset for the Giants as they navigate the quarterback landscape. With his dedication to the franchise and desire to see the team succeed, Manning’s willingness to help evaluate quarterbacks demonstrates his continued commitment to the Giants organization.
It remains to be seen how Manning’s involvement will impact the Giants’ quarterback search, but fans can rest assured knowing that one of the greatest quarterbacks in franchise history is willing to lend his expertise to help the team find their next signal-caller.

Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard Clears Air on Injured Will Howard After Eli Manning Broke Internet With Wild News
We’re all excited about the ultimate CFP National Championship showdown between Ohio State vs Notre Dame. But a wild revelation from a 2x Super Bowl QB makes us take a double turn to the history of their respective starting QBs Riley Leonard and Will Howard. The fact that both these national championship QBs are transfers in their final eligibility makes the plot even more remarkable.
Riley Leonard and Will Howard were roommates! Notre Dame Fighting Irish posted a YouTube video of the Notre Dame QB during his post-practice press conference on January 16. In his speech, Riley Leonard dug out his past as Will Howard’s roommate, calling him a “good roommate” and a “clean guy.” The Irish QB said, “At the time, we weren’t really the big names at the camp. We were just two dudes hustling, trying to compete, and make a name for ourselves kind of thing.” He reminisced, “It’s really cool to have those late-night conversations with him about life and whatever. To see where we are now, it’s really cool cause he’s a person I respect a lot.”

How did this revelation come about? We have both Archie Manning and Eli Manning to credit. The former New York Giants QB shared a text message that his father sent him which read – “FYI — Riley Leonard and Will Howard were roommates at Manning Passing Academy last summer!”

Only the best CFB QBs make it to the Manning Passing Academy held in Thibodaux, La. Both Leonard’s and Howard’s presence at this prestigious football camp is no surprise.
A big significance for the 2025 national championship QBs is that they both transferred before this past season. In his final collegiate season, Leonard led the independent Irish against all odds with a 14-1 record. They defeated Indiana, Georgia, and Penn State in the 12-team playoff to advance to their first Natty appearance in 2012.
Howard had been a force himself, leading the Buckeyes to a National Championship game since 2020 with a 13-2 record. Their final performance and outcome might determine the fate of HC Ryan Day who’s under a lot of pressure to win a championship game. But which QB has the better odds for the ultimate win?

It was a breakout season for Riley Leonard who compiled a total season record of 2,606 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also added 866 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground. The 22-year-old’s playoff stats could’ve been better with 514 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions + 145 rushing yards and two TDs in the three postseason games but the potential is there.
Will Howard, on the other hand, is looking strong after sustaining an injury in his non-throwing hand in the last game against Texas. He excels above Leonard in terms of stats recording 919 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions in the playoffs. This season, he’s recorded a total of 3,779 yards and 33 touchdowns in addition to 169 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
