The legendary musician, 77, put on a stylish display as he opted for a bold blue pair of glasses as he beamed in snaps.

Also in attendance was Kate Moss‘ ex boyfriend Count Nikolai Von Bismarck, however the supermodel was nowhere to be seen.

It was revealed in December that the model, 50, is said to have finally called it quits with Nikolai, 37, after nine years together.

Seated next to American writer Derek Blasberg, Nikolai kept it casual in a pale pink and blue striped shirt and black blazer.

Nick Cave and his wife Susie also posed up a storm together as the musician looked rather dapper in a black suit, tie and white shirt.

Meanwhile fashion designer Susie, 58, made sure all eyes were on her in black wrap dress adorned with sparkly purple and green thistles.

Completing the look with black lace gloves and matching tights, she added a quirky slip on green shoe and silver sparkly bow clip.

Annie Lennox’s daughter Tali opted for a plunging cream floaty blouse and matching skirt as she flashed a hint of cleavage in the ensemble.

The model, 31, completed the look with long black plaited pigtails as she struck a serious expression on the front row.

Elton’s outing comes after he celebrated his ninth Official Number 1 album with his album Diamonds.

A chart staple since its release in 2017, the 77-year-old music legend’s career-spanning hits collection finally surged to the summit in its 374th week on chart.

The record was bolstered by limited edition releases across brand-new formats, including cassette for the first time.

The Pinner-born star’s latest compilation debuted at Number 5 in its opening week back in 2017 and went on to peak at Number 2.

It hasn’t left the Official Albums Chart Top 100 since its release, and far and away boasts more weeks on chart than any other Elton LP.

Moreover, Diamonds claims the most consecutive weeks inside the Official Albums Chart Top 40 ever and claims the most weeks inside the Top 40 before reaching that coveted Number 1 spot.

Diamonds now joins Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player (1973), Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (1973), Caribou (1974), Elton John’s Greatest Hits (1974), Sleeping With The Past (1989), The Very Best Of Elton John (1990), collaborative PNAU record Good Morning To The Night (2012) and The Lockdown Sessions (2021) in Elton’s tally of UK chart-toppers.

It also comes amid his health struggles with his eyesight, which he first lifted the lid on in September 2024.

Elton appeared on Good Morning America alongside his husband David in December to chat with Robin Roberts about his life, career and the personal challenges featured in his new documentary.

Speaking in the interview, the music legend explained: ‘I unfortunately lost my eyesight in my right eye in July because I had an infection in the South of France and it’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see.

‘And my left eye is not the greatest, so. There’s hope and encouragement that it will be okay and we’re taking an intiative to try and get it better. At the moment that’s really what we’re concentrating on.’

When asked to elaborate on his current health to put fans worried at ease, Sir Elton quipped: ‘David and I always have our blood tests every six months in Los Angeles. Our health has never been better.

‘It’s never fortunate for anything like this to happen. I can’t see anything, I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything.’

The hitmaker, who played his final shows last summer, revealed his eyesight issues in September.

He took to his Instagram with a lengthy post, explaining how he spent the past few months ‘recuperating at home.’

Elton wrote: ‘Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye.

‘I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.

‘I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.’

Elton concluded: ‘I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.’

And his health battles have undermined any new music from the star.

Elsewhere in the interview, he said: ‘I can do something like this, but going into the studio and recording I don’t know, because I can’t see a lyric for a start.

‘We’re taking an initiative to try and get it better, but at the moment that’s really what we’re concentrating on.’

  • The worst James Bond theme ever, according to Elton John

Since its inception in 1962, the James Bond film franchise has featured some of cinema’s most iconic music. Each instalment contains a theme song that is an encapsulation not only of the film but of the cultural zeitgeist. Over the years, performers like Duran Duran, Paul McCartney and Wings, and Billie Eilish have dated each movie by default, without needing to allude to the year in which each film was released.

With more than two dozen movies, it’s no surprise that some of the theme songs have been better than others. In 1962, John Barry and Orchestra performed the now classic ‘James Bond Theme’. Composed by Monty Norman and arranged by Barry, it features a brassy swagger and an opening guitar riff that instantly characterises the suave action hero about to appear on screen.

Later films featured iconic vocal performances from some of the greatest musical acts of the era. However, no matter how much you love Adele or Louis Armstrong, no one will ever top Shirley Bassey, whose booming voice has echoed through cinematic history ever since she lent her unparalleled skills to the franchise in 1964. Whether you prefer the showstopping drama of ‘Goldfinger’, the mystery and sexiness of ‘Diamond Are Forever’, or, however unlikely, the ethereal romance of ‘Moonraker’, she was bested by no one.

In all those years, there have, of course, been some thudding disappointments. Sam Smith defied all odds by winning an Oscar for his mind-numbingly aimless and self-indulgent ‘Writing’s on the Wall’ from Spectre, and Jack White and Alicia Keys did themselves no favours by trying to reinvent a perfect formula with Quantum of Solace’s ‘Another Way To Die’.

One person who has a very strong opinion about all of this is Sir Elton John, who, through some glaring oversight by the Bond producers, and possibly the cosmos itself, has not yet created one of the 007 themes. In 2002, the EGOT winner said that Madonna’s ‘Die Another Day’ from that year’s film of the same name was “the worst Bond tune ever,” and he did not mince his words when explaining why.

“It hasn’t got a tune,” he said flatly. “James Bond themes are usually very camp, and this one’s different… They should have gone for somebody like Lulu and Shirley Bassey, or maybe I’m in that league?”

You could easily dismiss his putdown as sour grapes. John’s distaste for Madonna goes back decades, and based on the end of his comment, he clearly (and justifiably) felt short-changed for never having been asked to do one of the themes himself. However, he was objectively correct. With ‘Die Another Day’, Madonna opted to stay true to herself, which would have been just fine if she was releasing a single but made no sense in a Bond film. Her theme is Madonna-forward, featuring a mixture of electropop and techno with a smattering of strings to demonstrate just how poorly her musical style blended with the usual Bond fare.

As a Madonna song, ‘Die Another Day’ is serviceable, but when she utters the line “I’m gonna kill my ego”, it is clear that nothing could be further from the truth.

Elton John’s pick for the worst James Bond theme ever may surprise you! In a recent interview, the legendary singer-songwriter revealed that he believes the worst James Bond theme of all time is “Die Another Day” by Madonna. John described the song as “shocking” and “not a good tune at all,” criticizing its lack of a memorable melody and overall quality compared to other Bond themes.

While opinions on Bond themes may vary, it’s clear that Elton John is not a fan of “Die Another Day.” Do you agree with his choice for the worst James Bond theme, or do you have another pick in mind? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Elton John backs Paul McCartney in criticising proposed overhaul to UK copyright system | Elton John

Elton John has backed Paul McCartney in criticising a proposed overhaul of the UK copyright system, and has called for new rules to prevent tech companies from riding “roughshod over the traditional copyright laws that protect artists’ livelihoods”.

John has backed proposed amendments to the data (use and access) bill that would extend existing copyright protections, when it goes before a vote in the House of Lords on Tuesday.

The government is also consulting on an overhaul of copyright laws that would result in artists having to opt out of letting AI companies train their models using their work, rather than an opt-in model.

McCartney told the BBC that the proposed changes could disincentivise writers and artists and result in a “loss of creativity”. The former Beatle said: “You get young guys, girls, coming up, and they write a beautiful song, and they don’t own it, and they don’t have anything to do with it. And anyone who wants can just rip it off.”

“The truth is, the money’s going somewhere … Somebody’s getting paid, so why shouldn’t it be the guy who sat down and wrote Yesterday?”

John told the Sunday Times that he felt “wheels are in motion to allow AI companies to ride roughshod over the traditional copyright laws that protect artists’ livelihoods. This will allow global big tech companies to gain free and easy access to artists’ work in order to train their artificial intelligence and create competing music. This will dilute and threaten young artists’ earnings even further. The musician community rejects it wholeheartedly.”

He said that “challenging financial situations” and increased touring costs made it “harder than ever for new and emerging musicians to make the finances of the industry stack up to sustain a fledgling career”, and added that the UK’s place on the world stage as “a leader in arts and popular culture is under serious jeopardy” without robust copyright protection.

“It is the absolute bedrock of artistic prosperity, and the country’s future success in the creative industries depends on it.”

The government consultation runs until 25 February and will explore how to improve trust between the creative and AI sectors, and how creators can license and get paid for use of their material.

A government spokesperson said: “Our aim is to deliver legal certainty through a copyright regime that provides creators with real control, transparency, and helps them license their content.

“We are keen to hear the views of the music industry on these proposals, and no move will be made until we are absolutely confident that we are delivering clarity, control and transparency for artists and the sector, alongside appropriate access to data for AI innovators.”

McCartney said: “We’re the people, you’re the government. You’re supposed to protect us. That’s your job. So you know, if you’re putting through a bill, make sure you protect the creative thinkers, the creative artists, or you’re not going to have them.”

In 2023, McCartney and Ringo Starr created the song Now And Then using AI technology to separate John Lennon’s vocals from a home demo recorded in 1977.

In December 2024, McCartney warned that AI could “just take over”, and signed a petition, alongside actors Julianne Moore, Stephen Fry and Hugh Bonneville, stating that “unlicensed use of creative works for training generative AI is a major, unjust threat to the livelihoods of the people behind those works, and must not be permitted”.

In a recent development, legendary musician Elton John has come out in support of fellow music icon Paul McCartney in criticizing the proposed overhaul to the UK copyright system. The proposed changes have been met with widespread backlash from artists and musicians who fear that they will negatively impact their ability to earn a living from their work.

Elton John, known for hits such as “Rocket Man” and “Tiny Dancer,” is no stranger to the importance of protecting artists’ rights. In a statement, he expressed his concerns about the potential impact of the proposed changes on the music industry, stating that it is crucial for artists to be able to control and benefit from their own work.

McCartney, a former member of The Beatles and one of the most successful musicians of all time, has been a vocal critic of the proposed overhaul, arguing that it could lead to a “vast transfer of value” from artists to tech companies. Both he and Elton John are calling for a fairer system that ensures artists are properly compensated for their creations.

As two of the most influential figures in the music industry, Elton John and Paul McCartney’s backing adds significant weight to the campaign against the proposed changes. Their voices, along with those of other artists and musicians, are crucial in ensuring that the UK copyright system continues to protect and support creators in the digital age.

Tony Khan brings back AEW Collision’s original Elton John theme song

From the launch of what was then the promotion’s third weekly television show in June of 2023 until this past July, AEW Collision featured Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” as its theme song.

The classic rock, well, classic was a bit of an odd fit for a pro wrestling show. But it’s a classic for a reason, Collision (almost always) airs on Saturday nights, and it does feature quite a bit of fighting — all of which has been deemed “alright” by the powers that be, so it worked.

It’s not been explicitly stated, at least that I can find, why AEW stopped using John’s 1973 mega-hit. Cost is the obvious answer, though. But with even WWE ponying up for hit songs to open Raw and SmackDown with, and his own new media rights deal in hand, AEW owner & president Tony Khan announced on New Year’s Eve that “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” will be back starting with their Jan. 4, 2025 episode this weekend.

Starting this Sat 1/4 Collision simulcasts Saturdays on @TNTdrama + @StreamOnMax!

Our Christmas #AEWCollision episode was our most viewers in a year and a half!

Elton John Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting is back for 2025!

As Khan reminds us, that new WBD deal means this Saturday’s Collision will be be simulcast on the Max streaming service. Here’s a look at what’s been announced so far for their Jan. 4 show:

    • Toni Storm vs. Deonna Purrazzo
    • Daniel Garcia (c) vs. Mark Briscoe for the TNT championship
    • Private Party (c) vs. Lio Rush & Action Andretti for the AEW Tag titles
    • An appearance by Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson of The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express

Excited for that? Does Sir Elton make you a little more excited?

Fans of All Elite Wrestling’s AEW Collision were in for a treat this week as Tony Khan announced the return of the show’s original theme song by legendary artist Elton John.

The catchy and energetic tune, which was used when AEW Collision first debuted, quickly became a fan favorite and set the perfect tone for the action-packed wrestling show.

Khan’s decision to bring back the Elton John theme song was met with excitement and nostalgia from fans, many of whom had been hoping for its return ever since it was replaced with a different track.

With the iconic music now back in rotation, AEW Collision is sure to have even more fans tuning in each week to enjoy the thrilling matches and unforgettable moments that have become a staple of the show.

Thank you, Tony Khan, for bringing back the Elton John theme song and giving fans of AEW Collision a reason to dance and cheer once again!

Missing Knoxville 2-year-old, Elton Bailey, found safe

KPD is investigating whether somebody did attempt to steal the SUV or if it was left in gear and rolled down several ravines into the construction area.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE: The Knoxville Police Department said Elton Bailey and the Ford Explorer have both been located and Bailey is safe.

KPD said it was reported to the department around 5:25 p.m. on Sunday that a gold 2002 Ford Explorer had been stolen from a home on Old State Road. KPD said Bailey was still inside the vehicle.

“It was further reported that Elton was with his grandfather, who briefly stopped at the home on Old State Road, quickly went inside the home, and left the Ford Explorer running with Elton still inside the vehicle,” KPD said.

When Bailey’s grandfather came out of the house, the Explorer was gone and had presumably been stolen, the department said.

“KPD Special Crimes Unit detectives responded to the scene while a large-scale search effort was mobilized, which included dozens of Field Operations and Investigations Bureau Officers as well as the KPD Search and Rescue and UAV teams,” KPD said in a release.

The search effort was also assisted by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, including KCSO AirWatch, The Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

KPD said search efforts persisted for well over three hours with no verified sightings of the Explorer until assisting KCSO personnel found the vehicle in a muddy construction site near 212 Pelham Park Road. The department said this was just a short distance from where the SUV was reportedly last seen.

“The car was still running and Elton was found safe and unharmed inside of the vehicle,” the release said. “The Special Crimes Unit is continuing their investigation to determine if somebody did briefly attempt to steal the vehicle or if it was potentially left in gear and rolled down several ravines into the construction area where it was found.”

PREVIOUS STORY: An Amber Alert has been issued after the Knoxville Police Department began searching for a 2-year-old child who was reportedly inside a gold Ford Explorer when it was stolen.

The vehicle was stolen on Old State Road, KPD said. Anyone who sees the vehicle or child below is asked to call 911 immediately.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Elton Bailey, was last seen in Knoxville wearing a gray shirt and pants.

    “He’s 3′, 35 lbs, w/blonde hair & blue eyes,” TBI said.

This story is developing and will be updated as more information is available.
