  • Kid Rock embraces new celebrities supporting Trump: ‘Welcome to the party’

Kid Rock got the party going at President-elect Trump’s MAGA Victory Rally on Sunday afternoon, performing “Sweet Home Alabama” to kick-start his set at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Followed by a performance of his pointed 2022 song, “We The People,” which includes lyrics like “We all bleed red, brother, listen to me/It’s time for love and unity,” the rocker left the stage to fans chanting “U-S-A.”

Ahead of the performance, the singer stopped by “Fox & Friends Weekend” to speak about the palpable shift in energy he’s felt in the nation’s capital and Hollywood.

“It feels like the rebirth of our nation,” the musician, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, told hosts Lawrence Jones, Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade. “Felt like that at the UFC fight after the election, everybody was together, you know, walking to the ring,” he said of the championship fight that featured Trump supporters like Elon Musk and Dana White, as well as the rocker, to New York City.

“There’s just this overwhelming sense … you’ve heard it a million times, that America’s back,” the “Born Free” singer explained.

Kid Rock also spoke about how, since Trump had secured the Oval Office in November, Hollywood has seemed to embrace him as the nation’s leader, less reluctant to voice their support.

“Now they feel it’s safe to go in the water after dipping their toe in it for four to eight years,” he joked. “I mean, welcome to the party, like I’ve said. Better to have them on board than not,” he added.

Carrie Underwood, known to be removed from the political scene, stunned some when it was announced last week that she’d be performing “America The Beautiful” at Trump’s inauguration: “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” the country superstar said in a statement.

Jason Aldean, a longtime Trump supporter, was also tapped to play at the Liberty Ball, as well as rapper Nelly.

Actors Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson and Jon Voight were made “special ambassadors” to the “great, but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” by Trump last week, all of whom have had either favorable things to say publicly about Trump or have been supporters. Voight was also in attendance at Sunday’s rally.

“There’s a whole change in the air, there’s a whole shift in everything,” Kid Rock continued.

“[People] saw what he did the first time. And when you really look at the facts and the numbers and how great it was, and it’s only going to be better from there. The feeling’s everywhere,” he said. “Especially if you’re on our side – it’s through the roof. But I think people, all reasonable people, I feel, you know, are understanding, just if we would have got a reasonable Democrat.”

Kid Rock embraces new celebrities supporting Trump: ‘Welcome to the party’

In a recent interview, Kid Rock expressed his excitement over the growing number of celebrities who are openly supporting President Trump. “It’s great to see more and more people in Hollywood and the entertainment industry coming out in support of our president,” the rock star said. “Welcome to the party!”

Kid Rock, who has been a vocal supporter of Trump since his presidential campaign, has faced backlash for his political beliefs in the past. However, he remains unapologetic and stands firm in his support for the president.

With more and more celebrities like Kanye West, Roseanne Barr, and James Woods speaking out in favor of Trump, Kid Rock believes that the tide is turning in Hollywood. “It takes guts to go against the mainstream narrative, but I admire those who are willing to stand up for what they believe in,” he said.

As the 2020 election approaches, Kid Rock hopes to see even more celebrities come forward in support of Trump. “It’s time for people to speak up and not be afraid to show their support for our president,” he said. “We need to come together and make our voices heard.”

Hollywood actress Cheryl Hines is embracing her new role in the MAGA world as her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., prepares to join the incoming Trump administration.

On Monday, the 59-year-old “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star is expected to attend Trump’s inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C., with Kennedy, who President-elect Trump nominated to serve as Health and Human Services Secretary.

A representative for Hines confirmed the actress will walk the red carpet at the MAHA Inaugural Ball, which celebrates the beginning of Trump’s second term and Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” movement.

Over the past few months, Hines has been along for the ride as Kennedy, 70, became a key member of Trump’s inner circle. In August, the environmental lawyer endorsed Trump after suspending his own presidential campaign and became one of the president-elect’s most prominent surrogates.

Prior to the inauguration, the two-time Emmy Award nominee joined her spouse at several events held at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

On Nov. 5, Hines and Kennedy were in attendance at Trump’s election night watch party and celebrated alongside the Republican candidate as he emerged triumphant over the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump’s second wife, Marla Maples, later shared photos from the festivities, including an image of her with Hines and Kennedy. The trio beamed as they posed for a snap inside Mar-a-Lago’s ballroom.

“Nov 5th, we gathered as friends with a shared vision to unite our nation and restore the values instilled by our forefathers, while celebrating the light and joy within all of us,” Maples wrote in the caption.

“Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and even those who have never voted before united in a vision of peace in our land and our hearts. This was a celebration to secure hope for all children, for families, for our nation formed as one under God.”

Maples wrote that Trump and his family were joined by “friends and voices of change,” naming several guests, including Elon Musk, Jon Voight, Kennedy and Hines. The former model noted that Kennedy’s son Finn, 26, was also in attendance.

“We continue to pray for those who may have been misled and didn’t fully grasp our intentions,” Maples wrote. “We invite all to open their hearts and minds, to see that by coming together, we can let go of fear and live in the freedom that is every child of God’s birthright.

“Time to bring in the Joy while we continue to pray for our nation and our world.”

On Nov. 14, Trump announced on X, formerly Twitter, that he had tapped Kennedy to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

That night, Hines returned to Mar-a-Lago for the America First Policy Institute gala to celebrate her husband’s nomination with other Trump allies and supporters.

At the time, a source told Page Six the “I Can See Your Voice” judge appeared “happy and relaxed” and “playing nice with MAGA world.”

“Cheryl was talking to everyone, including Donald Trump,” the insider said.

The outlet reported that other guests included Trump’s nominee for director of national intelligence, former Democratic representative Tulsi Gabbard; Donald Trump Jr.; Trump Jr.’s fiancée at the time, Kimberly Guilfoyle; and Kennedy’s daughter-in-law and former campaign manager, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy.

Kennedy’s nomination to Trump’s Cabinet awaits confirmation by the U.S. Senate.

Hines has not shared photos from her visits to Mar-a-Lago on her own social media pages, though she indicated her support for the MAHA movement on her Instagram story in late November.

Hines shared a cheeky video of Kennedy while promoting products from her eco-friendly, self-care company, Hines+Young, which she co-founded with her 20-year-old daughter, Catherine Young.

In the clip, Kennedy appeared partially naked while showering in the background as Hines’ head strategically blocked most of his body.

The actress also posted an image of Hines+Young products, including a candle that had a lid emblazoned with “MAHA.” Hines tagged her company’s Instagram page and added the “MAHA” hashtag on the photo.

In a December interview with TMZ, Hines shed some light on her future plans as Kennedy prepares to undergo the confirmation process and embark on the next chapter of his political career.

When asked if she was excited about her move to Washington, D.C., Hines laughed and said, “One day at a time.”

The actress agreed the weather in the nation’s capital was “gonna be a little different” than in Los Angeles. Hines also confirmed she will remain focused on her own profession, telling TMZ, “I will keep acting.”

“I’m gonna pay attention to my career,” she added. “And do what I do and support my husband at the same time.”

Hines was also asked about a photo of Kennedy that made headlines when Trump Jr. posted it on X in November. In the viral image, Kennedy surprised social media users when he was seen sharing a McDonald’s meal with Trump, Trump Jr., Musk and Speaker Mike Johnson while aboard Trump Force One.

Kennedy, an outspoken critic of processed foods, was pictured sitting in front of McDonald’s fries and a bottle of Coca-Cola as he held up a burger box.

Trump Jr. captioned the photo, “Make America Healthy Again starts TOMORROW.”

The group was returning from a trip to New York City, where they attended UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden, the site of Trump’s historic campaign rally in October.

While speaking with TMZ, Hines dismissed the idea that Trump, a well-known lover of fast food, would have any influence over her health-conscious husband’s dietary habits.

“No, no,” she said. “Bobby is a very strong-willed, strong-minded person.”

However, Hines acknowledged that Kennedy, who has previously said Trump’s diet is “really bad,” most likely couldn’t have refused to partake in the meal.

“I don’t think he had a choice,” she admitted.

Hines’ acceptance of her entrée into Trump world has surprised and dismayed some in her Hollywood circle. In November, a source told People magazine Hines was contemplating divorcing Kennedy when reports emerged that he had allegedly been involved in an affair with a political journalist. Kennedy has denied the claims.

ACTRESS CHERYL HINES WON’T BE AT EVERY RFK JR. POLITICAL EVENT, SAYS SHE HAS HER ‘OWN CAREER’

“Cheryl was livid over the reports that her husband was involved in any way with the political reporter,” the insider said. “People who know her well in LA feel if she stays with Bobby now that Trump won the election, she’ll get fame over being in the inner circles.”

The source added that some may think of Hines as a “traitor.”

Another source told People Hines appeared to be a “supportive wife” when she was spotted attending events at Mar-a-Lago with Kennedy.

“It’s obvious she doesn’t lean right or left,” the insider told People. “RFK Jr. is her political belief.”

However, Kennedy previously told TMZ Hines was initially opposed to his endorsement of Trump.

“She’s a lifelong Democrat, and the idea of me supporting Donald Trump as president is something that she would have never imagined, that she never wanted in her life,” he said. “That is, I think, causing her a lot of discomfort.

“And, you know, I’m very grateful to her.”

Kennedy announced his candidacy for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination in April 2023. In October 2023, he announced he was dropping the bid and running as an independent candidate.

Hines, who married Kennedy in 2014, has rarely spoken out publicly against her husband’s politics, though she distanced herself from controversial remarks he made in January 2023 prior to launching his campaign.

Kennedy, a longtime anti-vaccine activist, sparked backlash when he gave a speech in which he drew comparisons between Nazi Germany and the U.S. government’s push for Americans to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

He later apologized for his remarks. At the time, Hines addressed her husband’s comments in a post she shared on X.

“My husband’s opinions are not a reflection of my own,” Hines wrote. “While we love each other, we differ on many current issues.”

The following day, Hines wrote, “My husband’s reference to Anne Frank at a mandate rally in D.C. was reprehensible and insensitive. The atrocities that millions endured during the Holocaust should never be compared to anyone or anything. His opinions are not a reflection of my own.”

After the backlash, Kennedy told The New York Times he suggested announcing a fake separation. He said “it was a difficult time” for them, and he was worried his statements were negatively affecting Hines personally and professionally.

Kennedy revealed he even drafted a news release announcing the split. However, the release was never sent, and in a separate interview with The New York Times, Hines told the outlet she never considered Kennedy’s proposal to be an option.

On Jan. 16., the “Skinny Confidential Him & Her” podcast released an episode during which Hines appeared as a guest. While speaking with Lauryn Evarts Bosstick and Michael Bosstick, Hines reflected on her experience over the past year.

“It’s been emotional a lot of times for me as a person,” she said. “You’re talking about friends, people who don’t want to have … they don’t even want to have a conversation about something, whatever that is.

“That’s been hard because some people I don’t talk to as much.

“And then, you know, you have to really step back and say, ‘OK, what are these friendships? And what you would hope is that you would have a friend who is a friend no matter what. And I do. I do have those friends. And then you have to say, ’OK, well, if this is separating us, me and my friend, then maybe what was the friendship to begin with? But it’s hard because it does happen all at once.”

Hines pointed out that some of her friends in Hollywood are reluctant to express their views if they differ from the status quo.

“In Los Angeles, people are very passionate about their political beliefs,” she said. “But a lot of people have come up to me privately and will say, ‘I love what your husband’ is doing, you know?’ I know. But they don’t want to say it out loud. And that’s OK too.

“But it’s disappointing that people can’t just talk and have a conversation.”

Hines explained that she “had to get my bearings” during the “big moments” over the past year, including when Trump nominated Kennedy for his Cabinet.

“Bobby has been working so hard for so long on all of these issues that are really important,” she said. “And for him to be able to have a voice in an administration would be so important. At the same time, you’re still talking about politics, and people are mean. People are impatient. People are angry.

“And, for all of those people, there are ten people who are nice and supportive and really have been so kind and nice to Bobby, but also to me.”

The actress said supporting her husband is important. (AP Photo/Alex Brandon)

During Kennedy’s presidential run, Hines occasionally joined him on the campaign trail. In a March 2023 interview with Fox News Digital, Hines reflected on how she and Kennedy approach instances when they don’t see eye to eye on political issues.

“One of the things that I’ve learned, especially about politics, is you’re not going to agree with somebody about everything, and it’s OK,” she said.

“We’ve learned to talk through it. Talk it out. Listen to each other. Sometimes, agree to disagree or say, ‘Oh, I’m going to think about that and I hear what you’re saying,’ or ‘I don’t like the way you’re saying it. I wish you’d say it in a different way.’

“So, I think it’s all about communication and just, you know, keeping your mind open and your heart open.”

At the time, Hines told Fox News Digital she has found certain aspects of Kennedy’s campaign “challenging.”

“I’ve never been a political figure, or I thought that I would never have anything to do with politics,” she said. “It’s a different world. So, I’m getting used to that and getting used to new cycles. That’s challenging because I’ve learned that there’s a rhythm to it that I don’t feel in other aspects of my life. So, that’s challenging, but, you know, workable.”

Hines also opened up about ways in which she has supported Kennedy throughout his campaign.

“I love him,” she said. “And I hope I’m a good friend to him. So, the downtime and the time away from the campaign, I think, is really important to just stay grounded and to keep connecting with each other.”

In August, Kennedy announced he was dropping his bid for the presidency and endorsing Trump.

WATCH: “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Cheryl Hines shares how she supports husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his campaign

At the time, Hines shared a message of support for her husband and his campaign staff on X.

In part, the statement said, “The decision has been made to suspend my husband’s, Robert Kennedy Jr.’s, presidency and I’d like to extend a sincere, deeply heartfelt thank you to every person who has worked so tirelessly and lovingly on his campaign.

“They have accomplished feats that were said to be impossible. They have gathered over a million signatures, more than any candidate in history, and have achieved ballot access across the country despite the roadblocks and lawsuits that have been brought against them for the sole purpose of keeping Bobby off of the ballots so no one would even have the opportunity to vote for him.

“I deeply respect the decision Bobby made to run on the principle of unity. Over the last year and a half, I have met some extraordinary people from all parties — Democrats, Republicans and Independents. It’s been my experience that the vast majority of all parties are truly good people who want the best for our country and for each other. It has been an eye-opening, transformative and endearing journey.”

Kennedy told TMZ his wife stood by his decision, though she did not agree with it.

“This is the opposite of what she would want to do,” he told the outlet. “She went along with it because she loves me, and she wanted to be supportive of me, but it was not something that she ever encouraged, I would say.”

On January 20th, 2017, as Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States, actress Cheryl Hines made headlines for her public embrace of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) mission.

Hines, a longtime advocate for environmental and health causes, was seen at the inauguration ceremony wearing a pin with the MAHA logo, showing her support for Kennedy’s campaign to promote a healthier and more sustainable America.

In a statement to the press, Hines praised Kennedy’s efforts to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and public health, stating that she was honored to be a part of the MAHA movement.

The embrace between Hines and Kennedy symbolized a coming together of Hollywood activism and political advocacy, as they joined forces to promote a vision of a healthier, more sustainable future for all Americans.

As the Trump administration took office, Hines and Kennedy’s partnership served as a reminder that the fight for a better world continues, no matter who is in power. Their dedication to the MAHA mission inspired many to join their cause and work towards a brighter future for all.

  • In new sideline role, Jeff Green embraces being ‘vocal leader’ for Rockets

When Jabari Smith Jr. broke a bone in his left hand at a Jan. 3 shootaround and with Amen Thompson serving part two of a two-game NBA suspension, the Houston Rockets started Jeff Green at power forward versus the Boston Celtics.

For the 38-year-old in his 17th professional season, it was a sudden and unusual turn of events. After having a rotation role for most of last season (averaging 16.8 minutes in 78 games played), Green has played only sparingly in 2024-25, averaging just 8.5 minutes per appearance while playing in only 11 of Houston’s 37 games. Since Thompson’s return a game later, Green has largely gone back to a non-playing role near the end of the bench.

But given the emerging young talent on the Rockets (25-12), who currently sit at No. 2 in the Western Conference standings, Green understands and accepts the changes. Relative to last season, Thompson is healthier and earning significantly more frontcourt minutes, and the addition of veteran center Steven Adams has taken away some backup center minutes that previously went to Green.

In a new interview with Vanessa Richardson, courtside reporter for the Rockets on Space City Home Network (SCHN) television broadcasts, Green shared some perspective on his new role:

It’s been fun. There was a learning curve. Playing for so many years, and now not playing as much as I used to, it’s something you have to get used to. You want to be out there on the floor. You still have a competitive side.

But with the task at hand, I have to realize where I’m at. I have to be realistic, be in the moment, and be present. The shift has been good. There have been some times that I fight it, but when I’m watching the young guys go out there and compete, it’s fun. It’s been fun watching these guys compete, night in and night out, and being that vocal leader on the sideline.

The complete interview will be aired throughout the upcoming week on SCHN broadcasts and digital platforms.

In short, Green — on an expiring $8.0 million contract this season — has transitioned to a largely non-playing, veteran leadership role for head coach Ime Udoka. In some ways, it’s similar to the role big man Boban Marjanovic held for the Rockets in recent seasons, though Green offers more positional versatility and an ability to play at both center and power forward.

It remains to be seen if the Rockets will deem that role worthy of another contract beyond 2024-25, or if Green will want to continue with such an arrangement. But for now, “Uncle Jeff” is making the most of his unique situation while helping lead a young and developing team from the sidelines.

More: ‘We’re not there yet’: Why Ime Udoka turned away big names in Houston’s 2023 free agency

This article originally appeared on Rockets Wire: In new sideline role, Jeff Green remains ‘vocal leader’ for Rockets

In his new sideline role, Jeff Green has fully embraced his role as a vocal leader for the Houston Rockets. Despite being sidelined with a foot injury, Green has taken on the responsibility of encouraging and motivating his teammates from the bench.

Known for his positive attitude and strong work ethic, Green has become a valuable asset to the team in this new capacity. He can be seen offering advice, cheering on his teammates, and providing guidance during timeouts and breaks in the game.

Green’s presence and leadership have not gone unnoticed by his fellow players and coaches. He has quickly established himself as a respected voice in the locker room and on the court, helping to keep the team focused and motivated during games.

While Green may not be able to contribute on the court at the moment, his impact off the court has been immeasurable. His willingness to step up and lead from the sidelines has been instrumental in keeping the team united and focused on their goals.

As the Rockets continue their season, Jeff Green’s role as a vocal leader will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their success. His positivity, experience, and leadership will continue to be a driving force for the team as they strive for greatness.

Timberwolves’ Donte DiVincenzo finally embraces new home by letting go of New York

MINNEAPOLIS — The realization of what it was going to take to fully become a Minnesota Timberwolf came slowly for Donte DiVincenzo.

No matter how often he said that he was happy to be in Minnesota, no matter how welcoming his new teammates and coaches were to a player they so desperately needed, DiVincenzo could not help himself from holding on to what he left behind.

For an athlete, there is nothing more intoxicating than the roar of the crowd, and DiVincenzo’s last memories of his one season in the Big Apple were soaked in adoration from the New York Knicks’ faithful. Madison Square Garden erupted for him in the Knicks’ last game of the season, when he scored 39 points during a loss to the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of their second-round series. And his ears were still ringing from the mayhem of Game 2 of the first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers, against whom his 3-pointer capped a miraculous comeback win and left him almost speechless from the volume inside one of the league’s most storied arenas.

The “Big Ragu” was a smash hit on Broadway, averaging a career-high 15.5 points per game and hitting 40 percent of his 3s for an upstart team that fought to the death. When he was traded on the eve of training camp along with Julius Randle to Minnesota for Karl-Anthony Towns, DiVincenzo told himself that it was for the best. The Knicks had just spent a boatload of draft capital to acquire another wing in Mikal Bridges, meaning he likely was not going to be able to hold on to his starting spot, and he was coming to one of the rising teams in the Western Conference, one with a megawatt star in Anthony Edwards that was entering the season with championship aspirations.

The Timberwolves turned down several offers from the Knicks over the past year and only relented after they included DiVincenzo in the deal, so he knew he was wanted in his new home.

But that roar. It is straight dopamine into the veins. You don’t just leave that behind. You don’t just forget that when you step on the plane.

“From what I felt, I think he was still hanging on to some frustration from what happened,” Wolves center Rudy Gobert said. “He’s human. But when you want to succeed, you’ve got to let that go.”

There was an anvil hanging around his neck. The past was preventing him from fully embracing the present. There was only one thing to do.

“Stop comparing what you did last year and just go out and hoop,” DiVincenzo said.

Unlike most offseason trades, DiVincenzo had no time to process this one. The Timberwolves and Knicks pulled off their blockbuster just two days before training camp opened. Like the rest of the principals involved in the deal, DiVincenzo was caught completely off guard.

“I was at home chilling,” he said. “Next thing I know, I’m on a flight going to Minnesota.”

It was nothing against Minnesota or the Timberwolves. DiVincenzo was genuinely excited to play with Edwards and come to a team that he knew valued his skill set. It was just jarring to have to relocate so close to the start of a season. As soon as the regular season began, DiVincenzo just could not find the same gear that had led to his career campaign with New York.

Through the first 18 games of the season, he averaged 8.9 points on 35 percent shooting, including 31.5 percent from 3-point range. This was not the fiery competitor, plug-and-play, 3-and-D wing the Wolves thought they were getting. This was an angsty, erratic player prone to turnovers on drives to the basket and scuds that clanked hard off the back iron when he pulled up from 3.

Everyone, from players to coaches to fans, wanted to see this new-look Timberwolves team just pick up where it left off last season. The reality of the situation was much more complex.

“It’s hard, because you know that going back to the trade, you lose a huge piece,” DiVincenzo said of Towns. “And you have two guys coming in that aren’t just throw-in guys. They’re key rotation guys that you have to figure it out. And when things aren’t going well, there’s a lot of stones thrown at you guys because of the success that the team had last year, but understanding stay together and figure it out.”

In the gossip-riddled NBA, speculation started to spread of DiVincenzo’s unhappiness with his role. He went from starting the last 74 games of last season and averaging 36 minutes per night in the playoffs for the Knicks to coming off of the bench for 24 minutes a game in Minnesota. Those Knicks were the toast of the town for their unexpected success in the Eastern Conference playoffs. These Timberwolves were booed at home earlier in the season because they were not meeting the expectations set by last season’s run to the West finals.

DiVincenzo’s body language did little to dissuade the rumor-mongers. Even when he was making shots, he reacted more with a sigh of relief than the bravado that is his calling card. His shoulders slumped with every turnover that came from trying to get Gobert the ball. His answers in interviews grew edgier as he was asked about the team’s struggles to find a rhythm.

“Everybody holds themselves to a high standard, so when it’s not going to that ability of what you know you’re capable of, it seems like the negative is worse than what it actually is,” DiVincenzo said. “For me, it’s just understanding that some games aren’t going to happen. You’re not going to have your night. But what can you hang your hat on? Making energy plays, doing the little things and giving yourself up to your teammates.”

Through all of the early-season struggles, the Wolves never wavered with DiVincenzo. They love his talent, love his contract and see him as a main part of their core going forward. Edwards went through a shooting session with him on Thanksgiving to try to boost his spirits. Chris Finch talked to him about where he feels comfortable getting his shots and how they can make things easier for him. Mike Conley and Naz Reid encouraged him to keep shooting no matter what.

But it was a chance conversation with veteran guard (and Wolves nemesis) Dennis Schröder that helped crystalize DiVincenzo’s outlook.

When Schröder was traded from Brooklyn to Golden State last week, he sought out DiVincenzo for notes on what it was like to play for the Warriors. DiVincenzo raved about his experience in Golden State and offered some thoughts on how Schröder could acclimate to his new surroundings. Schröder then turned the tables on him. He told DiVincenzo that it was time to stop fixating on his transition from New York to Minnesota and just get out there and play.

“He was just straightforward with his words,” DiVincenzo said. “He said that it’s hard. You just have to go out and do it. No matter where you’re at, just be you and just go do it. You look yourself in the mirror and be like, all right, the situation is the situation. Let last year go. This year is this year.”

Over the last six games, DiVincenzo is starting to look much more like the difference-maker he was in New York and the key role player who helped the Milwaukee Bucks win a championship. In that span, he is averaging 15.2 points on 50 percent shooting, including 49 percent from 3-point range. He scored a season-high 26 points on Sunday night and was a team-best plus-23 in a 112-110 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota’s third straight win.

DiVincenzo hit 5 of 10 3s and also had seven rebounds and four assists, one game after hitting six 3s and scoring 22 points in the Wolves’ come-from-behind win in Houston.

He’s giving us everything,” Finch said. “He’s giving us everything we knew he was with the rebounding and the shotmaking and the smart play.”

The key for DiVincenzo lately is that he has been so much more than just a shooter. He is grabbing rebounds in traffic, helping the Wolves out-board 7-foot-3 Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs 56-41 on Sunday night. He is finding some chemistry with Gobert, hitting him on lobs and pick-and-roll actions for easy buckets.

And he may have had the play of the game when he raced back on defense to break up a pass from Chris Paul to Wembanyama that could have cut Minnesota’s lead to one point with 90 seconds to play.

“I think that’s what gets me going. It’s what gets everybody else going,” DiVincenzo said. “That’s who I am. It’s what my identity is. It’s also what our identity as a team is. … The good is contagious; so is the bad. So, those little plays of just trying to make a play then turns into other guys making plays.”

As he started to find his footing, the sauce is returning to Ragu’s game as well. Now, when he hits an open 3, he will do his trademark celebration and hold out his right arm with three fingers extended while pointing to the ice in his veins.

He unleashed a finger roll on a drive to the basket against San Antonio and also froze Keldon Johnson in transition with a slow spin move, a game drenched in confidence.

“Getting back to playing for the joy and love of the game versus comparing what I did and trying to build off of it,” DiVincenzo said. “Just being out there. You can’t take it for granted. You’re playing in the NBA, and you’re playing for one of the best teams in the league, and you’re playing with one of the best young superstars in the league. That dude has fun. Go have fun with him.”

The Wolves are all having fun right now. After a three-game losing streak dropped them to a disappointing .500, they went on the road to beat Dallas on Christmas Day and came back from 16 down with five minutes to play in Houston to stun the Rockets. They were down eight points early in the fourth quarter against San Antonio, but DiVincenzo played the last 17 minutes of the second half to help rally the Wolves (17-14), who are 9-4 in their last 13. Every one of those wins has come against a team with a record over .500 at the time.

Rudy Gobert had 17 points, 15 rebounds and a block against the Spurs. Randle added 16 points and four assists and gave it his all on defense against the towering Wembanyama, who had 34 points on 13-of-30 shooting.

After the Timberwolves got a final defensive stop to preserve their win, DiVincenzo was interviewed in the arena as the player of the game. The sellout crowd hollered “Donte! Donte! Donte!” as he answered questions, a warm and well-earned embrace from a fan base that has been waiting to see this version of him.

“It was super cool,” DiVincenzo said with a wide smile.

And he left it at that. No need to compare it to what he heard in New York. That is in the past. There are new memories to make.

“Just let go. Just go play. This is home. I want to be here,” DiVincenzo said. “There’s nothing else outside of that. It’s not (speculation) that I don’t want to be here. It’s not (people saying) that I’m p—-ed off. No. I’m happy as hell.

“My family’s here. I’m raising my family here. It’s a beautiful city. I want to be here. Now, just go play.”
