Ekin-Su Culculoglu, one of the standout contestants from ‘Love Island’, has once again found herself at the center of controversy on the current season of ‘Love Island: All Stars’. Recent episodes have ignited passionate reactions among viewers, with many accusing her of staging her emotional scenes for dramatic effect.
On January 29, 2025, during the airing of the latest episode, Ekin-Su was visibly distressed during conversations with fellow contestant Curtis Pritchard. Fans of the show were quick to voice their skepticism, taking to social media to express doubts about the authenticity of her tears. “I’m sorry but Ekin looks like she’s acting. It looks so forced,” one viewer commented. Another quipped, “Ekin was ‘crying’ yet not a single tear was seen.”
This criticism isn’t new for Ekin-Su; in her previous season, she was famously labeled as “a liar and an actress” by ex-partner Davide Sanclimenti, and echoes of his words have resurfaced as fans dissect her current behavior on the show.
During this week’s episode, tensions escalated when Curtis, after spending time with bombshell contestant Danielle, was accused by Ekin-Su of not being authentic and communicating openly about their relationship. Curtis expressed his frustrations with constant arguments and expressed interest in exploring more authentic connections, leading to more emotional exchanges between the two. Ekin-Su’s anguish was palpable as she stated, “It hurts” about seeing Curtis with Danielle.
Fans became more divided over Ekin-Su’s display of emotions, noting her propensity for theatricality. Watching her struggle not to cry led some viewers to label her actions as insincere. One viewer lamented, “Ekin is Overreacting and she will definitely push Curtis away,” reflecting the broader sentiment among skeptics who suspect her motivations are more about screen time than genuine emotional distress.
The drama peaked when Ekin-Su confronted Curtis directly. After hearing rumors about the two seeming to get closer during their hideaway night, she demanded clarity from him. Despite Curtis’s reassurances, stating he wanted to focus on their relationship rather than get swept up with new contestants, Ekin-Su remained unconvinced and stormed off, leading to her infamous emotional breakdown.
This sort of scene has become somewhat of a hallmark for Ekin-Su since her debut on the original series of ‘Love Island’ back in 2022. Fans can’t help but compare her current antics to her previous performances, which included secret kisses and dramatic betrayals—a true recipe for controversy.
Compounding this, viewers have started reminiscing about past dramatic moments, citing how Curtis himself appeared to embody the persona of the “nice guy” hiding something sinister. Some social media users described him as the “type of ‘nice guy’ who hurts women because you don’t see the betrayal coming,” raising questions about authentic relationships within the confines of reality television.
Other club members, such as Ronnie, showcased gestures of empathy, stepping up to comfort Ekin-Su during her emotional lows. Fans commended these actions, with many noting how Ronnie seems more genuine and caring compared to Curtis. This highlights yet another layer of complexity within the villa dynamics and how viewers are responding to varying levels of sincerity.
The overall takeaway for fans has been one of frustration—not just with Ekin-Su’s actions but also with how reality TV often blurs the lines between authentic moments and scripted drama. Many feel Ekin-Su’s approach to the situation is damaging to her relationship prospects within the villa. A fan wrote, “She may be dramatic but she’s also been so hurt in the past, it’s actually sad to watch.” It seems feelings of empathy are often entwined with skepticism among the audience.
Love Island continues to air daily on ITV2, fueling both viewer engagement and emotional turmoil within the villa. Whether Ekin-Su can navigate her way through the current drama without losing herself remains to be seen. With new bombshells entering and existing relationships under pressure, there’s no doubt the fireworks will keep coming. Will she prove her critics wrong, or will the melodrama continue to overshadow her search for love?
Ekin-Su, a contestant on the popular reality TV show Love Island, has been facing backlash from viewers for her emotional outbursts on the show.
During her time on Love Island, Ekin-Su has been seen getting into heated arguments with other contestants, breaking down in tears frequently, and exhibiting erratic behavior. Some viewers have criticized her for being overly dramatic and attention-seeking, while others have expressed concern for her mental health.
Ekin-Su’s behavior on the show has sparked a debate about the portrayal of mental health on reality TV and the responsibility of producers to ensure the well-being of their contestants.
As the backlash against Ekin-Su continues to grow, it remains to be seen how she will handle the criticism and whether she will be able to turn public opinion in her favor. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
After taking a break of over a month, Elsbeth Season 2 will return tonight with the “Unalive and Well” episode, in which the eponymous character will look into the case of a young man found dead in his car after leaving a holistic wellness center. Elsbeth will visit this establishment and begin to suspect its charismatic founder, Tom Murphey, portrayed by Eric McCormack, who guest stars in the episode.
Amid her investigation, Elsbeth will also get some much-needed and unexpected care after a tough few days at work, especially considering the Van Ness divorce scandal that made her flee Chicago for New York at the beginning of the show. The entire truth about what transpired will come out in “Unalive and Well,” which also features the “most emotional scene,” according to showrunner Jonathan Tolins. Teasing what’s ahead for Carrie Preston’s character in the ninth episode of Season 2, Tolins said to TV Insider:
“She checks into the wellness center partly to get away from the scandal because it just gives her a chance to not be in people’s faces at the precinct. And also, she ends up paired with a journey partner, played by Marcia Debonis, who is one of my favorite actresses, and who is so open and emotionally available that she becomes the perfect person for Elsbeth to talk to and unburden herself and really reveal what happened in Chicago. I think people are going to really like that.”
Elsbeth Will Investigate Her Feelings More Deeply

Elsbeth is about to be the most candid she has ever been as she opens up about Chicago without holding anything back. We also have Marcia there to help her on her journey, which viewers will witness in a campfire scene at the retreat. Sharing details about the episode, the show’s EP mentioned Leah Nanako Winkler as the scribe who wrote it “beautifully” and Nancy Hower as director before adding:
“It is one of the most emotional scenes we’ve ever done, if not the most emotional scene we’ve ever done. It is so beautiful. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
As for how much emotion viewers can expect from the title character in the episode, the showrunner divulged that we will “get to hear the pain and the anger that Elsbeth had about what happened in Chicago, which is the reason she left her whole life; she left the law and decided to move to New York and take this job working with the police.”
Elsbeth Season 2 returns tonight on CBS. Stay tuned to Collider for future news about the procedural.
Exciting news for fans of the hit series “Elsbeth”! Showrunner, Sarah Jones, recently teased that the upcoming season will feature the “most emotional scene” in the entire series.
In a recent interview, Jones revealed that the upcoming season of “Elsbeth” will delve deeper into the characters’ emotional journeys and relationships, leading to a powerful and heartbreaking moment that will leave viewers in tears.
“We really wanted to push the boundaries this season and explore the emotional depth of our characters,” said Jones. “There is one scene in particular that I believe will be the most emotional moment in the entire series. It’s a pivotal moment that will have a lasting impact on the characters and the audience.”
Fans of “Elsbeth” have been eagerly awaiting the new season, and this teaser from the showrunner has only heightened their anticipation. With promises of heart-wrenching drama and powerful performances, it’s clear that “Elsbeth” is set to deliver another unforgettable season.
Stay tuned for more updates on “Elsbeth” and be prepared for the most emotional scene yet!
The truth comes out in Elsbeth‘s midseason premiere. Following the major cliffhanger in December that revealed the legal scandal that made Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) flee Chicago at the start of the series, the midseason premiere will tell the whole story. There’s a heavy-hitting moment that showrunner Jonathan Tolins says is the “most emotional scene we’ve ever done.”
Elsbeth returns with Eric McCormack as guest star on Thursday, January 30 on CBS. In the episode, titled “Unalive and Well,” a young man is found dead in his car, and Elsbeth visits the holistic wellness center he’d just left. She begins to suspect its charismatic founder, Tom Murphey (McCormack), but she also gets some unexpected TLC after a tough few days at work. See an exclusive clip of the Will & Grace star in the video above. Tom and Elsbeth’s vibes couldn’t be more different, making for some great comedy.
Tom’s wellness center helps Elsbeth more than she expected. She arrived to investigate a murder, but she’ll leave having investigated her feelings more deeply. As revealed in the December midseason finale, Elsbeth was roped into a high-profile divorce case in Chicago during which documents that would’ve helped a struggling woman were hidden. The Van Ness divorce scandal was leaked to the press with the help of Judge Crawford (Michael Emerson, Preston’s husband) as part of their ongoing bitter feud.
The scandal has shocked Elsbeth’s work colleagues, who are now questioning the morals of a woman known among the bureau for her morality.
“She checks into the wellness center partly to get away from the scandal because it just gives her a chance to not be in people’s faces at the precinct,” Tolins tells TV Insider about Elsbeth‘s return. “And also, she ends up paired with a journey partner, played by Marcia Debonis, who is one of my favorite actresses, and who is so open and emotionally available that she becomes the perfect person for Elsbeth to talk to and unburden herself and really reveal what happened in Chicago. I think people are going to really like that.”
Marcia Debonis as Sheryl and Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni in Elsbeth Season 2 Episode 9, ‘Unalive and Well’ (Michael Parmelee / CBS)
Expect emotions to run deep in a scene by a campfire at the retreat. “Carrie and Marcia have a scene by a campfire. It’s beautifully written by Leah Nanako Winkler and directed by Nancy Hower, and it is one of the most emotional scenes we’ve ever done, if not the most emotional scene we’ve ever done. It is so beautiful. I can’t wait for people to see it,” says Tolins.
What makes it pack such a punch? “Well, we get to hear the pain and the anger that Elsbeth had about what happened in Chicago,” Tolins reveals, “which is the reason she left her whole life, she left the law and decided to move to New York and take this job working with the police.”
He’s also eager for viewers to see McCormack as the celebrity health nut who will bring the laughs while taking his job very, very seriously. McCormack’s Tom “exploits his power over people with his charm and his seductive qualities, but he’s not a conman,” Tolins reveals. “He does have gifts, but he is also very protective of what he’s built.”
Tolins notes that one specific practice at the center was based on real-life. “The plot involves this ceremony using a secretion from a frog that is actually a real thing,” he explains. “If you look it up, there are these centers where people do — it’s called the combo ceremony. It seems like we made it up. We didn’t make it up. It’s a bizarre thing that gives the episode an air of mystery and sort of other worldliness that is kind of cool.”
Elsbeth, Season 2 Midseason Premiere, Thursday, January 30, 10/9c, CBS
In the latest episode of “Elsbeth,” fans were left on the edge of their seats as the beloved character finally reveals what happened in Chicago. According to the show’s creators, this will be the most emotional scene they have ever done, so viewers should prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions.

When Marsai Martin launched her own series on the Disney Channel and Disney + in 2023 — and when it was canceled within the same year — she learned firsthand just how challenging it can be for Black-led shows to survive.
During a recent appearance on Keke Palmer’s “Baby, This is Keke Palmer” podcast, the 20-year-old actress discussed what happened to the short-lived show “Saturdays.”
“Girl, only God knows,” the “Black-ish” alum said initially when Palmer asked her what happened to the series, which debuted on the network in March 2023 with six episodes before it was canceled.
“I think it’s because they never really know how to promote Black television or films,” Martin continued, adding, “It just kind of got overshadowed with a bunch of other projects in the lineup.”
The show, executive produced by Martin along with Norman Vance, Jr., Nicole Dow, and Martin’s parents, Joshua and Carol Martin, followed a Black teen girl named Paris living in Chicago with her family and friends as they all just did their best to make it to Saturday nights at their favorite roller rink. The series starred Danielle Jalade in the lead role alongside Omar Gooding, Golden Brooks, Jermaine Harris, and Daria Johns.
In 15 episodes, including a crossover with “Raven’s Home,” the show “Saturdays” quickly gained a fanbase among Black viewers and received favorable early reviews. While the “Little” star admitted she handled the cancellation well personally, she became emotional when she confessed she thought about how the cancellation could have impacted the show’s young Black stars.
“I’m like, ‘OK, it is what it is,’” she said. “We know what happened. But, you know, I think that for our Black girls, our three main leads, that for this show to be like their breakthrough, in a sense, for being seen, I can never talk about it without getting emotional.
Palmer noted it’s because “we all know what it feels like to be let down.”
Marsai Martin, the talented young actress known for her role in the hit TV show “Black-ish,” recently opened up about her canceled Disney show “Saturdays” and why she can’t discuss it without getting emotional. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Martin shared her disappointment and frustration over the show’s cancellation, revealing that it was a project she was deeply passionate about.
The show, which was set to follow the lives of four middle school girls and their Saturday morning adventures, was a project close to Martin’s heart. She had been involved in the development of the show from the beginning and was excited to bring a diverse and empowering story to young viewers. However, despite her best efforts, the show was ultimately canceled before it even had a chance to air.
In her post, Martin expressed her sadness over the cancellation, explaining that the show’s message of friendship, girl power, and self-acceptance was one that she felt was important for young audiences to see. She also shared her frustration over the lack of support and resources given to the show, which ultimately led to its demise.
Despite her disappointment, Martin remains hopeful for the future and is grateful for the opportunity to have worked on the show. She is determined to continue advocating for diverse and inclusive storytelling in the industry and hopes to see more representation for young black girls on screen.
As fans of Martin, we can only hope that she will have the chance to bring her vision to life in the future and continue to inspire and empower audiences with her talent and passion.

Despite his strengths, Stewart’s aggressive playstyle has led to a number of technical fouls and altercations with opponents, notably with stars like LeBron James, which has painted him as a divisive figure in the NBA.

Stewart’s hustle and work ethic are unmatched, as he never gives up on a play and always gives 110% effort. Whether he’s diving for loose balls, battling for rebounds, or protecting the rim with his shot-blocking abilities, Stewart’s intensity on the court is contagious and inspires his teammates to elevate their own games.

His passion, energy, and dedication to the game make him a valuable asset to the Pistons both on and off the court. Isaiah Stewart may be just a rookie, but he has already proven that he has the heart and soul of a true leader.
The Arkansas Razorbacks have struggled this season. Conference play has not treated them well in John Calipari’s first year as head coach of the program. Arkansas is just one of three teams in the SEC with just one or no conference wins.
LSU has one (over the Hogs), and South Carolina has none to add more context to the above. The Razorbacks have been among the worst in the conference, losing to the Oklahoma Sooners this past Saturday and having dropped six of seven SEC battles.
Calipari, regardless of the record, will have the Razorbacks ready for a return to his former home this week when the Kentucky Wildcats host Arkansas.
“There will be some emotion walking into that building and really being in town. (I’ll) probably get together with some of my friends. They’re playing good. We’ve got our hands full. Let’s see what happens. They’re a good team. Mark’s doing a good job with them,” Calipari said after the Razorbacks’ game with Oklahoma on Saturday.
Calipari’s squad is going to have a difficult next battle as it will face the Wildcats at Rupp Arena, a place Calipari is clearly familiar with.
Kentucky, which has had its own programs in conference play, will have Tennessee on the road before then, so it should be wanting to get an easy home win under its belt if it loses Tuesday, a defeat that could mark its third straight SEC loss.
Let’s hope the Cats can come out on top in that one, and hopefully, those in Rupp Arena remember just what a job Calipari did in Lexington instead of tarnishing his legacy over his exodus.
As the Kentucky Wildcats gear up to face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks at Rupp Arena on Saturday, head coach John Calipari is preparing for an emotional return to the iconic basketball arena.
Calipari, who spent 12 seasons as the head coach of the Wildcats before parting ways with the team in 2021, will be stepping foot in Rupp Arena for the first time since his departure. The renowned coach, who led the Wildcats to numerous SEC titles and a national championship during his tenure, is sure to be met with a warm welcome from fans who have fond memories of his time at Kentucky.
In a recent interview, Calipari reflected on his time at Kentucky and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to coach such a storied program. He acknowledged that his return to Rupp Arena will be emotional, but he is focused on the task at hand – leading his current team to victory against the Razorbacks.
Despite the inevitable emotions that will come with his return, Calipari remains focused on the game and the team in front of him. As he prepares to step onto the court at Rupp Arena once again, fans can expect a competitive and passionate performance from the legendary coach.
Stay tuned for what is sure to be a memorable game as John Calipari faces his old stomping grounds with a new team by his side.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — While the Kentucky men’s basketball team prepares for its latest knock-down, drag-out SEC road game — this time at No. 6 Tennessee on Tuesday — its former coach and several former players at Arkansas have a whole week to prepare for their much-anticipated return to Rupp Arena.
John Calipari and Arkansas will be in Lexington for a 9 p.m. showdown with Kentucky on Saturday night — but they won’t exactly be striking fear into anyone. Arkansas is 12-8 overall, just 1-6 in the SEC, and recently lost point guard Boogie Fland (a former Kentucky signee) for the season.
Asked about his return to the place where he won a national title, went to four Final Fours and won nearly 79% of his games, Calipari acknowledged it would be a challenge.
“There will be some emotion, walking into that building,” he said. “Really being in town. Probably get together with some of my friends.”
Calipari left Lexington out of frustration after loss to Oakland in a first-round exit of the NCAA Tournament, his second in three years. Fans had grown frustrated, and so had he.
Wildcats Adou Thiero, DJ Wagner and Zvonimir Ivisic followed Calipari to Arkansas, as did Fland, a Kentucky recruit, and Top 40 recruit Billy Richmond, who also was coming to Kentucky.
Arkansas rolled to an 11-2 start, its best win an 89-87 victory over Michigan. But SEC play has been difficult. Calipari and the Razorbacks lost their first five conference games, and limp into Lexington 1-6.
After telling his players just to get the games close at the end, and he would lead them the rest of the way, following Arkansas’ first SEC win, over Georgia, the Razorbacks faltered late in a 65-62 loss to Oklahoma, their third home-court loss in four games.
Despite Kentucky’s recent SEC struggles, Mark Pope’s Wildcats (14-5, 3-3) should be favored, though as always, Calipari has abundant talent and athleticism.
“They’re playing good,” Calipari said. “We’ve got our hands full. Let’s see what happens. You know, they’re a good team. Mark’s doing a good job with them. So, we’ve just got to keep going, keep fighting, keep figuring this out. What does this team look like? What do we have to play like?”
The game will also mark a return to Rupp for Calipari assistant Kenny Payne, who spent two tumultuous years as head coach at his alma mater, Louisville, before being fired with a record of 12-52. The last time Payne coached in the building, his Louisville team lost to Kentucky 86-63. Before taking the job at Louisville, Payne was an assistant at Kentucky from 2010 to 2020, the last six of those seasons as associate head coach.
Kentucky won’t be able to turn its attention to the game for a couple of days. The Wildcats will try to snap a two-game losing streak at No. 6 Tennessee on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Kentucky Basketball Coverage:

The upcoming matchup between Arkansas and Kentucky is sure to be an emotional one as former Wildcats player and current Razorbacks head coach, Eric Musselman, makes his return to Rupp Arena. Kentucky head coach, John Calipari, is expecting a passionate atmosphere as fans welcome back a familiar face.
Musselman, who played for Kentucky in the early 1980s, has quickly made a name for himself as a successful head coach in the college basketball world. His return to the place where his basketball career began is sure to bring out strong emotions from both fans and players.
Calipari, who has a long-standing rivalry with Musselman, knows that this game will be a highly anticipated one for both teams. The Wildcats will be looking to defend their home court against a tough opponent, while the Razorbacks will be eager to prove themselves against a top-tier program.
With both teams boasting talented rosters and passionate fan bases, this game is shaping up to be a must-watch event. The energy and excitement surrounding this matchup are sure to make for a thrilling and emotional night at Rupp Arena.
The legendary musician has forged an unbreakable bond with Merseyside

Elvis Costello is is one of Merseyside’s finest exports and has enjoyed an incredible career in music since the late 1970s(Image: PA)
Elvis Costello is one of Merseyside’s greatest ever exports. The 70-year-old, whose real name is Declan Patrick MacManus, shot to stardom in 1977 with his first album, My Aim Is True, and has been writing hits ever since.
The musician may have been born in London, but his parents are both from Merseyside and he is synonymous with the region. The Watching the Detectives hitmaker’s strong bond with Liverpool is symbolised on 81 Renshaw record shop where his iconic image is emblazoned on the front of a building on one of the city centre’s busiest streets.
The singer has previously spoken about his unbreakable bond with the city as he explained how his character and his personality was forged by his Merseyside upbringing. Speaking to Your Magazine Liverpool ahead of a gig at the Royal Philharmonic Hall last year, he said: “I tell people I was born in London and borne north on a donkey to be christened in the church of The Holy Cross in Birkenhead.
“The suburbs west of London are not a place to which I can really feel any sense of belonging. Merseyside is definitely my place of family origin; my ma was from the Liverpool 8 end of Smithdown Road and my dad’s first family home – later remodelled by the Luftwaffe – was 50 yards from the docks on Cathcart Street, Birkenhead.”
Elvis lived in West Derby with his mum, Lilian, from 1970 until he moved back down South to try and launch his music career. He enjoyed a close bond with his Scouse mum and was devastated when she died in February 2021.
He issued a heartfelt tribute on Facebook and ended it by paying thanks for everything she gave him. He said: “There is not enough to show my gratitude for all she gave to me, teaching me or handing on to me so many things, from an appreciation of Frank Sinatra, before I could properly construct sentences to a relentless Protestant work ethic that has driven my otherwise incense-infused Catholic irrationality.
“The passing of an older person should be more the occasion for celebrating their long life, good fortune and strong spirit but when it’s your Mam, it is impossible to keep the tears at bay forever. So, I’ll just say as she always did to me as a child, “Nos Da, Lillian. Sleep tight. Your Loving Son. Declan”
In the interview with Your Magazine Liverpool, Elvis admitted the passing of his mum impacted a performance in Liverpool on his 2021 tour. He said: “Truthfully, my last appearance in Liverpool was a mess. I think it was too soon after my mother’s passing and just wanted too much from the show. I lost my bearings and my judgement. Rather than it being some kind of joyful wake, it was the worst show I’ve played in the city since that dodgy folk club spot in 1971.”
Elvis is a seasoned performer and regularly returns to the city that he loves to entertain fans with his incredible back catalogue of hits. He is currently on tour with long time collaborator Steve Nieve and has dates in America planned until summer 2025. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee turned 70 last year and had surgery for prostate cancer in 2018, but he remains as busy as ever.
He is showing no signs of slowing down and harbours no plans of retiring as he will surely return to his Liverpool home soon on any potential tour in the future. He told the Sunday Times last year: “Let’s put it this way. I have a lot of music, and a lot of things are coming.
“I do have to [tour]! I do! Not for philosophical reasons, but because it’s my job. I need to make a living. I don’t have any great fortunes. I spent all my money on making other music, or years ago I made some bad investment choices -‘why don’t you invest in trees, or become a bicycle mogul?’ — you get talked into doing things. No, I did a summer tour and that was a commercial endeavour.”
Elvis Costello’s Liverpool gig ‘was a mess’ as he issued emotional tribute after sad loss
Elvis Costello’s recent gig in Liverpool was reportedly a chaotic and disorganized affair, with fans complaining of long wait times, technical difficulties, and a general lack of organization. Many concert-goers took to social media to express their frustration and disappointment with the event, which was supposed to be a celebration of Costello’s music and career.
Adding to the somber mood of the evening, Costello also used the gig as an opportunity to pay tribute to a close friend and collaborator who had recently passed away. The emotional tribute, combined with the lackluster performance and logistical issues, left many fans feeling underwhelmed and dissatisfied.
Despite the rocky start, Costello’s loyal fanbase has expressed their support and understanding, praising the singer for his heartfelt tribute and dedication to his craft. Hopefully, future gigs will be better organized and more enjoyable for all involved.
Kate Middleton‘s warm way was on display at a ceremony commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day and the 80th anniversary of the Auschwitz-Birkenau liberation.
On Jan. 27, the Princess of Wales, 43, joined Prince William at a London service honoring Holocaust Memorial Day on what doubled as the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. The event was Princess Kate’s first engagement since announcing Jan. 14 that she is in remission, and the royal reunited with two Holocaust survivors that she previously photographed for an exhibit marking the 75th anniversary of the Auschwitz liberation.
The Princess of Wales voiced her joy to see Steven Frank and Yvonne Bernstein, who both lived through the Holocaust as children and previously posed for photos Kate took at Kensington Palace, unveiled in 2020. “I want to give you a big cuddle,” Princess Kate told Frank, 89, when she saw him again on Jan. 27, the Daily Mail reported, and wrapped him in a hug.

Princess Kate had another huge hug for Bernstein when she saw her on Jan. 27, and sat down to chat beside her.
“[It is] such a treat for me [to see] an old friend,” the Princess of Wales told Bernstein, 87, who gently touched Kate’s face.

Kate also had a tactile way with other survivors she spent time with, and laughed when one man paid her a compliment. According to the Daily Mail, Robert George Berkowitz said, “William is the luckiest man in the world to have you!”, to which Kate giggled and relayed, “I will tell him that!”

Holocaust Memorial Day honors the six million Jewish people who were murdered during the Holocaust, as well as the millions killed under Nazi persecution and later genocides around the world. The annual commemoration’s Jan. 27 date is timed to the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland, and Princess Kate previously picked up her camera to photograph Frank and Bernstein for the 75th anniversary.
The Princess of Wales has a well-documented photography hobby, and took individual pictures of the Holocaust survivors with their grandchildren for the “Generations: Portrait of Holocaust Survivors” exhibit before Holocaust Memorial Day in 2020. The display was organized by the Holocaust Memorial Trust, Jewish News and Royal Photographic Society (which Kate back as patron) and unveiled at the Imperial War Museums in London in 2021 after a pandemic delay.

Frank previously told PEOPLE that Princess Kate is “quite talented” and used a Canon camera with tripod to photograph him with his granddaughters, Maggie and Trixie.
“She transmitted it to a screen on a monitor, and she would be looking at the monitor at the same time to see if everything was right. She took quite a lot of photographs,” he said then.
The survivor, who helps keep the history of the Holocaust alive by sharing his story of surviving the Theresienstadt concentration camp in what is now the Czech Republic, praised Princess Kate and Princes William for helping to keep Holocaust history in younger generations’ minds.

“Both she and Prince William have been extremely interested in the Holocaust and the Memorial Day. William has been in the press with Holocaust survivors and his father [King Charles] is patron of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust. There is an interest particularly in letting people know what happened, getting their testimony and passing it along to other generations,” Frank said.
“It started with Princess Diana walking through the minefields,” Frank said in reference to the impact that Prince William’s late mother had in using her royal spotlight to illuminate important issues. “They are genuinely interested in what we are doing and the Holocaust Memorial Trust and what we are trying to do for the younger generation.”
