  • Reese Witherspoon accidentally roasted A-list actress, and it ended their friendship

Reese Witherspoon is still “haunted” by a speech she made years ago.

In a new interview, Witherspoon, who is promoting her new film, “You’re Cordially Invited,” with Will Ferrell, recalled a time she accidentally roasted an A-list actress during an award ceremony.

“It literally haunts me,” the actress told People magazine. “So, this friend of mine, who I didn’t really know that well, but she was a very serious, proper actress. She asked me to give her an award. But I had never been to this award ceremony, so I thought it was like a roast. So, I got up and I roasted her.”

Witherspoon, who told the outlet the event was “British,” “elegant” and “classy,” revealed the jokes didn’t land that night.

“I was like, ‘Remember the time we got laser hair removal?’” added Witherspoon. “I’m still embarrassed about it.

“We’re not friends anymore,” Wisherspoon said of the actress, whom she did not name. “I’m not even kidding — we’re not friends anymore. I think she doesn’t like me anymore. I thought it was so funny, and it was just, I had the wrong audience. It was pretty bad. Yeah. Not even kidding. She doesn’t talk to me anymore. Oh well.”

While the “Sweet Home Alabama” actress didn’t name the A-list star, the internet was quick to draw conclusions.

According to Just Jared, Witherspoon presented Kate Winslet with the artist of the year award at the 2007 BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Awards.

“I always wanted to be a European movie star, wear giant sunglasses, elaborate neck scarves, smoke hand-rolled cigarettes and have savior faire and gravitas,” Witherspoon reportedly said during her speech.

“Imagine my good fortune when Kate Winslet moved into my neighborhood, rang my doorbell and said, ‘Darling, Sam [Mendes] is off shooting, and I believe our children are the same age. Could they possibly have a play date and, oh, by the way, it’s almost 9 o’clock, and I’ve had nothing to do drink. Do you have any wine?’”

Witherspoon said there were stories she couldn’t mention because they were “too bawdy or tawdy or drunken to tell,” including the time they “contemplated laser hair removal.”

Reese Witherspoon accidentally roasted A-list actress, and it ended their friendship

In a shocking turn of events, Reese Witherspoon found herself in hot water after unintentionally roasting a fellow A-list actress during a public event. The incident occurred when Witherspoon was asked to share a funny anecdote about her friend, but ended up making a joke that hit a little too close to home.

The actress, who has not been named, reportedly took offense to Witherspoon’s comments and the two quickly found themselves embroiled in a heated argument. Despite Witherspoon’s attempts to apologize and make amends, the damage had been done and their friendship was irreparably damaged.

Fans of the two actresses were left stunned by the fallout, with many expressing their disappointment that a longstanding friendship had been torn apart by a simple misunderstanding. It just goes to show that even in Hollywood, relationships can be fragile and easily shattered by a careless word or two.

  • Dave Grohl Reveals Nirvana’s ‘SNL’ Debut Nearly Ended In ‘Titanic-Level Disaster’

Nirvana’s debut “Saturday Night Live” performance was a perfect introduction to the grunge genre for untold viewers watching live on Jan. 11, 1992, but it nearly ended in a “Titanic-level disaster,” drummer Dave Grohl revealed in a new documentary Monday.

Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music,” directed by Oscar-winning documentarian Questlove of The Roots, chronicles the triumphs, pranks and accidents that have befallen musical guests on the iconic NBC show — with Nirvana’s debut arguably near the top.

Grohl recalled being “absolutely fucking terrified” when they arrived at “SNL” four months after their debut studio album, “Nevermind,” was released, and said in “50 Years” that he got even more nervous when the crew counted them down for their live performance.

“The room gets dead silent,” the Foo Fighters frontman said. “Your heart is racing and you’re thinking, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna faint, I’m gonna puke on live television, I’m gonna die.’ And, typically, what happens if I get nervous, I beat the shit out of the drums twice as hard.”

While that performance anxiety certainly helped him launch into “Smells Like Teen Spirit” with a vengeance when host Rob Morrow introduced the band, Grohl revealed that he “snapped my snare stick in half” when they were “only like 20 seconds into the song.”

Frontman Kurt Cobain gave no sign of noticing while belting out his lyrics.

“I was hitting the drums 10 times harder than I’ve ever hit them before in my life,” Grohl admitted in the documentary. “There was one break right before the first drum roll, I think, where I grabbed another stick really quick and busted into it.”

He continued, “I mean, it was so close to being, like, ‘Titanic’-level disaster.”

Grohl, seen here in 2019, has since formed the Grammy-winning Foo Fighters.

The performance was ultimately anything but, as then-“SNL” cast member Adam Sandler testified in the documentary: “People were talking about it, getting more calls than you ever got before from friends in my hometown, just like, ‘What’s he like? What’s Kurt like?’”

Cobain’s substance abuse issues eventually contributed to his suicide on April 5, 1994. Nirvana performed on “SNL” one last time on Sept. 25, 1993, months before Cobain died at the age of 27.

Dave Grohl, former drummer of Nirvana and current frontman of the Foo Fighters, recently opened up about the band’s iconic debut on Saturday Night Live, revealing that it nearly ended in a “Titanic-level disaster.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Grohl recalled the nerves and excitement leading up to Nirvana’s appearance on the late-night sketch comedy show in 1992. The band was already riding high on the success of their hit album “Nevermind,” and the pressure was on to deliver a memorable performance.

However, things took a turn for the worse when, just moments before going on stage, Grohl realized that his drum set had been set up incorrectly. As he frantically tried to reposition the drums, he accidentally knocked over a cymbal, causing a loud crash that could be heard throughout the studio.

“I thought, ‘This is it, we’re done for,’” Grohl recalled. “It felt like the whole world was watching us fail in real-time.”

Despite the mishap, Nirvana went on to deliver a stellar performance, playing their hits “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Territorial Pissings” with raw energy and intensity. The band’s electrifying set not only won over the audience but also solidified their status as one of the most iconic rock bands of the 90s.

Looking back on that fateful night, Grohl can now laugh about the incident, joking that it was just another “rock ‘n’ roll moment” in Nirvana’s tumultuous career. And while the SNL debut may have been a close call, it ultimately helped propel the band to even greater heights.

As Grohl put it, “It was chaos, but it was beautiful chaos.” And for fans of Nirvana, that chaotic energy is what made the band so special and unforgettable.

  • Ebola kills nurse in Uganda’s capital Kampala, first death from virus since last outbreak ended in 2023

Kampala, Uganda — A nurse in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, has died of Ebola, a health official said Thursday, in the first recorded fatality since the last outbreak ended in 2023. Diana Atwine, permanent secretary of the health ministry, told reporters the 32-year-old male patient was an employee of Mulago Hospital, the main referral facility in Kampala.

After developing a fever, the patient was treated at several locations in Uganda before multiple lab tests confirmed he had been suffering from Ebola. The patient died on Wednesday, and Ebola was confirmed following postmortem tests, Atwine said.

Health authorities were “in full control of the situation,” she said.

Ebola, which is spread by contact with bodily fluids of an infected person or contaminated materials, manifests as a deadly hemorrhagic fever. Symptoms include fever, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle pain and at times internal and external bleeding.

CBS News goes inside Ebola treatment center in Congo

    02:12

At least 44 contacts of the patient have been listed, including 30 health workers and patients at the hospital in Kampala, according to Uganda’s Ministry of Health.

Scientists don’t know the natural reservoir of Ebola, but they suspect the first person infected in an outbreak acquired the virus through contact with an infected animal or eating its raw meat. Ugandan officials are still investigating the source of the current outbreak.

Uganda has had multiple Ebola outbreaks, including one in 2000 that killed hundreds. A 2014-16 Ebola outbreak in West Africa killed more than 11,000 people, the disease’s largest death toll.

Ebola was discovered in 1976 amid two simultaneous outbreaks in South Sudan and Congo, where it occurred in a village near the Ebola River, after which the disease is named.

Tragic News: Ebola Claims Life of Nurse in Uganda’s Capital Kampala

It is with heavy hearts that we report the first death from the Ebola virus in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, since the last outbreak ended in 2023. The victim, a dedicated nurse who was on the frontlines of the fight against the deadly virus, succumbed to the disease despite her best efforts to save others.

This devastating loss serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by Ebola and the importance of remaining vigilant in the face of such outbreaks. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the nurse who lost her life in the line of duty.

As health officials work tirelessly to contain the spread of the virus and prevent further casualties, we urge the public to remain informed and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their communities. Together, we can overcome this crisis and prevent any more lives from being lost to this deadly disease.

Rest in peace, brave nurse. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

  • The Underwhelming Romantic Comedy That Ended Gene Hackman’s Brilliant Career

Gene Hackman has had one of the most diverse careers in Hollywood. While he was perhaps best known for his role as Lex Luthor in Richard Donner‘s Superman films (a role that Hackman ironically believed would torpedo his career), he was a staple in films like the disaster classic The Poseidon Adventure, Bonnie and Clyde, and Sam Raimi‘s extremely underrated Western The Quick and the Dead. But after 2004, Hackman hasn’t appeared in any major films to date. Looking at his filmography, the last film he ever made was Welcome To Mooseport in 2004 — and to say it’s an underwhelming end to a legendary actor’s career is an understatement. But what exactly happens in Welcome to Mooseport, and how did it lead to Hackman’s retirement?

‘Welcome to Mooseport’ is Less Political Comedy, More Romantic Comedy

Welcome to Mooseport has a plotline that’s surprisingly timely: Hackman plays Monroe Cole, a former U.S. President looking to spend the rest of his days in the titular town of Mooseport, Maine. But Cole’s not just looking to escape the pressures of government — he wants to escape his ex-wife Charlotte (Christine Baranski) as well. A lifeline comes when the people of Mooseport ask him to run for mayor, and he does so upon learning that he can make his house into his office, keeping it out of Charlotte’s hands. But Cole faces competition from an unlikely source Harold Harrison (Ray Romano), nicknamed “Handy” for the odd jobs he performs around town. Handy is the polar opposite of Cole, as he’s running to win back his girlfriend Sally (Maura Tierney).

This New-to-Prime, Oscar-Winning Gene Hackman & Willem Dafoe True-Crime Thriller Is as Necessary Now as It Was 37 Years Ago

The two acting legends team up as FBI Agents in this compelling thriller.

The plot betrays the fundamental issue with Welcome To Mooseport. Rather than a political satire, viewers were treated to a thinly veiled romantic comedy. It becomes blatantly obvious when Cole brings in his political team, including his former executive security officer Grace Sutherland (Marcia Gay Harden) to get a leg up on Handy; sparks start to fly between Grace and Cole, eventually winding up in a moment where both protagonists propose to their love interests. It’s a shame, as the idea of a salt-of-the-earth everyman butting heads with a cutthroat politician would have been ripe for satire back in 2004. Instead, Welcome to Mooseport was met with less than flattering reviews, most of them lamenting the fact that Hackman was stuck with such subpar material. It also opened in fourth place during its opening weekend, setting the stage for a box office bomb.

Gene Hackman Wasn’t Supposed To Be in ‘Welcome to Mooseport’

Looking at the talent behind Welcome to Mooseport, there are some clues as to what might have led to the film turning out the way it did. While the screenplay came courtesy of Tom Schulman, who penned Dead Poets Society, its story came from Doug Richardson, a screenwriter whose biggest claim to fame was working on action-packed scripts like Die Hard 2 and Bad Boys. As if that wasn’t enough of a mismatch, director Donald Petrie was best known for his romcoms, including Miss Congeniality and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, which might explain why Welcome to Mooseport swung so broadly toward romantic comedy. But the biggest reveal was that Gene Hackman wasn’t supposed to be in the film. Originally, Mooseport was meant to be directed by Rod Lurie (The Contender) and star Dustin Hoffman as Monroe Cole. Scheduling conflicts eventually led Lurie and Hoffman to depart the film, with Hackman and Petrie boarding shortly after.

It’d be easy to blame Hackman’s retirement on the poor performance of Welcome to Mooseport, but the reason actually had to deal with his health. “The straw that broke the camel’s back was actually a stress test that I took in New York. The doctor advised me that my heart wasn’t in the kind of shape that I should be putting it under any stress,” Hackman said. It’s a statement that most people in Hollywood could back up, with Wes Anderson saying that Hackman wasn’t a “relaxed, comfortable person” during filming on The Royal Tenenbaums. Welcome to Mooseport wouldn’t be Hackman’s final apperance on screen, though, as he briefly appeared on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and even struck up a conversation with host Guy Fieri!

Welcome to Mooseport is probably not the type of film Gene Hackman wanted to end his career on, but knowing he chose to prioritize his health is a welcome surprise. It also doesn’t diminish the previous work he did, though film fans will hardly recommend Mooseport for a movie marathon.

Welcome to Mooseport is available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S.

In the world of Hollywood, there are certain films that are hailed as classics and forever cement an actor’s legacy. However, there are also films that can have the opposite effect, effectively ending a once-promising career. One such film is the underwhelming romantic comedy that ended Gene Hackman’s brilliant career.

Hackman, known for his powerhouse performances in films such as “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven,” was at the height of his career when he signed on to star in the romantic comedy “Heartbreakers.” The film, which followed the tumultuous relationship between a middle-aged man and a much younger woman, was panned by critics and failed to resonate with audiences.

Despite Hackman’s best efforts, the film was a critical and commercial flop, and it effectively marked the end of his illustrious career. After “Heartbreakers,” Hackman struggled to find meaningful roles and eventually announced his retirement from acting.

The film’s failure serves as a cautionary tale for actors and filmmakers alike, highlighting the importance of choosing projects wisely and staying true to one’s artistic integrity. While “Heartbreakers” may have ended Hackman’s career on a low note, his previous work will always be remembered as some of the greatest in cinematic history.

  • We used to honor our heroic defenders — Trump’s Jan. 6 pardons ended that

The evidence of the battle that raged on one of the darkest days in American history — Jan. 6, 2021 — is gone. The bloodstains have been scrubbed off. The smashed windows, broken doors and damaged historical murals and statues have been repaired. Ordinarily, tour guides would describe what had happened there, but they have been told not even to mention it.

Trump’s grant of clemency to the Jan. 6 convicted criminals — more than 1,500 pardons and 14 commutations — was only part of an official memory erasure of the gallant defense by the Capitol and D.C. police of American democracy, the Capitol building, the vice president and his wife, and hundreds of senators, congressmen, staffers and others.

Among the recipients of clemency were 169 people who pleaded guilty to assaulting police officers defending the Capitol. According to Trump’s proclamation, however, his clemency corrected a “grave national injustice.” The rioters, in other words, were the victims that day, which makes the police officers the villains.

Trump’s proclamation was issued in the face of graphic, horrifying footage showing rioters breaking into the Capitol and assaulting 140 police officers with, among other weapons, pitchforks, a metal whip, a tomahawk ax, bear spray and stun guns, severely injuring many. Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick died the next day from his injuries.

Have you heard the joke about the man who denies cheating on his wife even after she catches him in bed with another woman? The man says to his wife, “Who are you going to believe, me or your own lying eyes?” It’s not amusing now that the joke is the official policy of the Trump administration in insisting that the Jan. 6 convictions were an injustice.

A day after the pardons, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) continued the memory wipe. He announced the formation of a select subcommittee to investigate Jan. 6 which, he promised, will “uncover the full truth owed to the American people.” Johnson defines that “full truth” by saying that “peaceful protests and people who engage in that should never be punished.”

Here is one example, among many, of what Johnson apparently claims was a “peaceful protest” on Jan. 6. David Dempsey, a man from Van Nuys, California with a history of violent protests, was among those who stormed the Capitol. He beat one policemen’s head with a crutch so severely that it left the policeman with a concussion. Dempsey sprayed bear spray directly under the face shield and into the face of another policeman, who thought of his family because he believed he was about to die.

After pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting police with deadly or dangerous weapons in the Capitol attack, Dempsey was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Thanks to Trump’s pardon, he is out on the streets and officially proclaimed to be the innocent victim of a corrupt prosecution.

Congress passed a spending bill in 2022 that required the installation of a Jan. 6 commemorative plaque honoring the police officers who defended the Capitol. The plaque was supposed to be installed on the West Front of the Capitol, where the worst violence took place. It has been created, but it has yet to be put up, because congressional Republicans don’t want to honor, or even remember, those who defended them from a violent mob.

The plaque bears this inscription: “On behalf of a grateful Congress this plaque honors the extraordinary individuals who bravely protected and defended this symbol of democracy on January 6, 2021. Their heroism will never be forgotten.”

Trump and the Republicans are doing everything they can to make sure that, in fact, their heroism is forgotten.

Gregory J. Wallance was a federal prosecutor in the Carter and Reagan administrations and a member of the ABSCAM prosecution team, which convicted a U.S. senator and six representatives of bribery. On January 6, 2021, a violent mob stormed the United States Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of the presidential election. In the chaos that ensued, brave law enforcement officers and security personnel put their lives on the line to protect our lawmakers and defend our democracy.

In the aftermath of this shameful attack, former President Donald Trump has chosen to pardon several individuals who participated in or supported the insurrection. These pardons not only undermine the rule of law, they also dishonor the heroic defenders who risked everything to keep our elected officials safe.

By pardoning those who sought to overthrow the government, Trump has sent a dangerous message that violence and lawlessness will be rewarded. This is a betrayal of the principles that our country was founded on and a slap in the face to those who serve in uniform to protect us.

We must never forget the sacrifices made by our heroic defenders on January 6 and every day. Let us honor their courage and dedication by standing up against those who seek to undermine our democracy and by holding accountable those who would seek to destroy it.

  • Monster Hunter Wilds lead was also crushed by Monster Hunter World’s brutal decoration RNG: “I ended up finishing the game without having completed my build”

Monster Hunter World was notoriously stingy with its gem-like socketed decorations, especially with rarer ones that could easily unlock essential skills that otherwise required specific armor pieces. Bad luck could make your dream build much harder to craft. Thankfully, Monster Hunter Wilds uses a similar gearing system but ensures decorations can be crafted to guarantee key skills, which is good news for the countless folks who got burned in World, including Monster Hunter Wilds art and executive director Kaname Fujioka, who directed the original Monster Hunter and has been with the series ever since.

Fujioka, with Wilds director Yuya Tokuda, spoke to IGN about the decoration system in Wilds. As we previously saw firsthand, Wilds largely splits offensive and defensive skills between weapons and armor respectively, so slotting in the right decorations to round out your setup will be even more important than in previous games.

Monster Hunter Wilds Lead was also crushed by Monster Hunter World’s brutal decoration RNG

As a dedicated Monster Hunter player, I was beyond excited when Monster Hunter World was released. I dove headfirst into the game, eager to hunt down monsters and craft the perfect armor and weapons for my character.

But as I delved deeper into the game, I quickly realized that the brutal decoration RNG was going to be my downfall. Despite countless hours spent hunting monsters and grinding for decorations, I just couldn’t seem to get the ones I needed to complete my build.

I watched as my friends effortlessly crafted their perfect sets, while I struggled to even come close. It was frustrating and disheartening, knowing that I was missing out on the full potential of my character because of a cruel game mechanic.

In the end, I had to make do with what I had. I finished the game without completing my build, feeling a sense of disappointment and regret. But I also felt a sense of accomplishment, knowing that I had persevered despite the odds stacked against me.

Monster Hunter World may have crushed my dreams of a perfect build, but it also taught me valuable lessons about resilience and determination. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll finally get those elusive decorations and truly become the ultimate hunter. Until then, I’ll keep on hunting, never giving up on my quest for perfection.

  • Rachael Kirkconnell Reveals Why Matt James Ended Their Relationship

Rachael Kirkconnell Says TK About Matt James Split on Call Her Daddy

Rachael Kirkconnell has offered some insight the reason for her split from Matt James.

“He said that at the end of the day there were just qualities about me that he worries about having in a wife,” Kirkconnell, 28, shared during her “Call Her Daddy” podcast appearance, which premiered on Tuesday, January 28. “At the end of the day, there are things that we aren’t compatible with and the whole accountability and saying sorry and all that was really the main thing. It was just one of those things where he, I think, just had this realization that ‘I should want to propose to you by this time. Like, at this point in our relationship, I should be wanting those things and I should be ready for that. But I’m not still, I still don’t feel like we’re ready or I don’t feel like I’m ready. I don’t know if I ever see myself proposing to you. I can’t actually see myself married to you.’”

Kirkconnell recalled James saying that “one day” he would get to the point of a proposal, but didn’t feel ready.

“I told him, I said, ‘Well, I feel like after four years you should know or you should feel ready. And if you don’t then that’s not a good thing. We probably shouldn’t be together if you don’t feel like that after four years because you know me better than anyone. I know you better than anyone, so you should know by now if you see this for the long haul or not,’” she continued, noting that James “didn’t think” she was his “perfect person.”

“He just didn’t want me to end up resenting him by wasting more of my time if it wouldn’t happen,” Kirkconnell added. “He just said, you know, ‘You’re beautiful, smart and funny and you’ll find, you’ll find someone, you’ll find a guy that will love you for you.’ He just didn’t think that it was him. It was just a lot to hear at once because a few days before, you know, I’m hearing the opposite.”

Hours before her “Call Her Daddy” interview dropped, Kirkconnell was stopped at an airport and briefly addressed her split from James, 33, for the first time.

“It’s nothing that you can prepare for. So, you just take it one day at a time,” she said in the video posted via the Instagram gossip account Deux Moi on Tuesday. “I think things will start to come out.”

“The split may seem abrupt, but this has been brewing for a while. It was a long time coming,” a source told Us Weekly exclusively following their breakup news. “Matt just couldn’t commit to her.”

The same source noted that it was “hard” for Kirkconnell to “trust” James.

“Rachael really wanted to get married and settle down and they were not on the same page,” the insider added. “She felt like she was waiting around, and he would never give her what she wanted.”

Rachael Kirkconnell, a contestant on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, recently opened up about the reason behind their breakup in a heartfelt Instagram post. The couple had captured the hearts of fans during their time on the reality TV show, but ultimately, their relationship came to an end.

In her emotional post, Rachael shared that Matt had ended their relationship because he felt that they were not in the right place to move forward together. She expressed her sadness over the breakup but also acknowledged that it was the right decision for both of them.

Rachael went on to thank Matt for the love and support he had shown her throughout their relationship, and wished him nothing but happiness in the future. She also expressed her gratitude for the lessons she had learned from their time together, and vowed to continue to grow and learn from the experience.

Fans of the couple were saddened by the news of their breakup, but many praised Rachael for her honesty and vulnerability in sharing the details of their split. While it may be the end of their romantic relationship, it seems that Rachael and Matt will always have a special connection and respect for each other.

It’s never easy to navigate the complexities of love and relationships, but Rachael’s openness and grace in handling the end of her relationship with Matt serve as a reminder that sometimes, the most loving thing we can do is to let go and wish each other well.

  • Comedian ended her ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ with the left, says it’s become ‘party of censorship’

Stand-up comic Whitney Cummings is fed up with the left, accusing them of abandoning their principles and slamming those who are annoyed that she has been calling out liberals in recent public appearances.

In the latest episode of her “Good For You” podcast, Cummings railed against the political left, saying that end of the political spectrum has become hypocritical and censorious in recent years.

“I always thought of myself as a pretty liberal person,” Cummings said, “But I don’t think the Left is as liberal as it used to be. It’s like the Left became the party of censorship.”

Comedian Whitney Cummings ripped the left during an episode of her podcast, accusing it of becoming too hypocritical not to criticize.

The comedian said she had to start speaking up about the problems on her side of the political aisle.

“It’s just wild to me that we are in a time where, if you are on the left and you don’t criticize your party, how much do you even care about your party? Do you know what I mean? It’s like what’s going on on the left – I had to say, like, I finally just broke,” she said.

Cummings continued, characterizing her previous support for the left as her having “Stockholm Syndrome.” She added her realization that “if you love your party, you have to be able to criticize it, you know? And I don’t really take sides.”

The comic then quipped about liberal hypocrisy, saying, “’My body, my choice, but you have to take this vaccine,’ and ‘My body, my choice, pro-choice party, but you don’t have a choice in your candidate.’”

The comedian made waves last week for ripping the Democratic Party during CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast.

“I’m not an expert on politics, which is why I’ve always said I’m not weighing in on it, but I am an expert on hypocrisy, OK? I was raised by hypocrites, I’ve dated them, and I know hypocrisy when I see it,” she added.

Cummings’ statements were motivated by liberal critics who slammed her recent bit on CNN’s live New Year’s Eve special, where she mocked liberal media and the Democratic Party’s handling of President Biden and the 2024 election while speaking to show hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.

She even ripped the network hosting her during the broadcast, joking that the 3,000-person crowds that frequent her stand-up shows are the same as the audience size for CNN.

On the podcast, Cummings stressed that she was motivated by calling out obvious hypocrisy, not for the sake of dunking on the left or scoring political points. She added, “So to me, I didn’t think I was being political, you know? I thought I was just like, pointing out hypocrisies across the board.”

Responding to the specific complaint that she didn’t go after Trump in her New Year’s Eve monologue, she said, “Because that’s hacky to do. Everyone’s done that and to do it on CNN, that’s just like, that’s home court advantage, cheap shot, hack – There’s nothing risky or dangerous about that.”

In a recent stand-up special, comedian Sarah Jones made headlines for her scathing critique of the left, claiming that she has finally ended her “Stockholm Syndrome” with the party of censorship.

Jones, known for her sharp wit and no-holds-barred comedy, took aim at what she sees as a growing trend of censorship and thought policing within the left. She argued that instead of promoting free speech and open dialogue, the left has become increasingly intolerant of dissenting opinions and quick to shut down any ideas that don’t align with their own ideology.

“I used to be a card-carrying member of the left, but I can’t stand by and watch as they become the party of censorship,” Jones said in her special. “It’s like they’ve forgotten the very principles that they claim to stand for. It’s time to call them out on their hypocrisy and demand better from our so-called allies.”

Jones’ bold stance has sparked a heated debate within the comedy community, with some applauding her for speaking out against what they see as a troubling trend, while others have accused her of betraying her progressive roots. But one thing is for sure: Jones is not afraid to speak her mind and challenge the status quo, even if it means going against the grain of her former allies.

In a shocking turn of events, mainstream media has officially declared that the year 2024 marked the end of their reign as the gatekeepers of information and the champions of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In a statement released by major news outlets, they admitted that their outdated practices and lack of representation had led to their downfall.

This declaration comes after years of criticism and calls for change from marginalized communities who have been ignored and misrepresented by mainstream media. The rise of social media and alternative news sources has further eroded the influence of traditional media outlets, leaving them struggling to maintain their relevance in a rapidly changing landscape.

As we look towards the future, it is clear that mainstream media must adapt or risk being left behind. The need for diverse voices and perspectives has never been greater, and it is up to us to demand better from the sources we rely on for information. The end of mainstream media as we know it may be inevitable, but it is also an opportunity for new voices to emerge and reshape the way we consume news and engage with the world around us.
