Stock market today: Stock indices Sensex and Nifty ended lower on Monday following weak global markets due to concerns about US President Donald Trump’s tariff implementation on trading partners. The BSE Sensex fell 319.22 points (0.41%) to 77,186.74, ending its five-day upward trend. During trading, it fell 749.87 points (0.96%) to 76,756.09. The NSE Nifty dropped 121.10 points (0.52%) to 23,361.05.
Among Sensex components, major decliners included Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors, Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints, ITC, Power Grid, NTPC and Reliance Industries.
Bajaj Finance led the gainers with over 5% increase. Other advancing stocks included Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Bharti Airtel and Maruti.
Asian markets in Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong closed significantly lower. European markets experienced substantial losses, while US markets finished lower on Friday.
“Slump in global equity markets weighed negatively on Indian benchmarks after Trump announced tariffs on China, Mexico and Canada which fuelled pessimism amongst the investors. Besides, the rupee depreciating sharply raised concerns that foreign investors are unlikely to reverse the selling trend,” Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities Ltd, said.
The tariffs of 25% on Canadian and Mexican imports and 10% on Chinese goods will commence from Tuesday.
“The global market got unsettled amid the onset of the ‘Trade War,’ as tariff conflicts between the US and other nations are unlikely to yield any economic benefits. Instead, it may cause challenges to the global economy, heightening global financial risks,” Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services, said.
Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, rose 1.15% to USD 76.50 per barrel.
On Saturday, the BSE benchmark achieved a slight gain of 5.39 points (0.01%) to 77,505.96 amid high volatility. The Nifty decreased by 26.25 points (0.11%) to 23,482.15. Markets operated on Saturday for the Union Budget presentation.
According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 1,327.09 crore on Saturday.

The stock market today saw a downward trend as the BSE Sensex closed over 300 points down, while the Nifty50 managed to stay above the 23,350 mark.

Investors were cautious as concerns over rising inflation and the ongoing geopolitical tensions weighed on the market sentiment. The Sensex closed at 77,423, down 301 points, while the Nifty50 ended at 23,381, down 87 points.

Despite the overall negative trend, certain sectors like IT and pharma managed to outperform, providing some support to the market. However, the overall mood remained cautious as investors awaited further clarity on the economic outlook.

It will be interesting to see how the market reacts in the coming days as various domestic and global factors continue to influence investor sentiment. Stay tuned for more updates on the stock market trends.

  • Latest In Growing ‘It Ends With Us’ Feud’

    Topline

Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, both defendants in a sweeping lawsuit from her “It Ends With Us” director and co-star Justin Baldoni, have told a federal judge they plan to ask for the suit to be dismissed days before their respective lawyers are expected to attend their first pre-trial conference in a legal battle that includes accusations of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment on the set of the film. (Here are in-depth explanations for Lively’s claims and Baldoni’s claims.)

    Timeline

Jan. 30, 2025Lawyers for Lively and Reynolds said in a letter to New York federal judge Lewis J. Liman that they plan to move to dismiss the lawsuit filed against them at a pre-trial conference scheduled for Monday, Feb. 3.

Jan. 29, 2025The Hollywood Reporter cited unnamed sources in reporting Baldoni has “lost three jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars” since Lively first filed suit against him in December and that an in-the-works “Pac-Man” movie project he was set to direct is now in jeopardy.

Jan. 27, 2025Liman told Lively and Baldoni’s lawyers to prepare for a March 9, 2026 trial date and set a pretrial conference to discuss, among other things, complaints from Lively’s team about the conduct of Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman. Lively’s lawyers have claimed Freedman is trying to paint potential jurors by creating a website to release communication between the two actors and documents from set, and accused him of making an “endless stream of defamatory and extrajudicial media statements.”

Jan. 27, 2025 The Daily Mail first published a nearly seven-minute voice note it says Baldoni sent to Lively at 2 a.m. during the filming of “It Ends With Us,” in which he allegedly apologizes for not being open enough to script changes she made, admits he is a “a very flawed man” and makes a reference to her breastfeeding her then-newborn child.

Jan. 21, 2025Baldoni’s legal team countered Lively’s claims that he acted inappropriately while filming a slow dancing scene for the film by releasing a 10-minute video from set that includes three takes of the same scene, which Baldoni’s team says is the entirety of the footage shot for that scene, during which Lively alleged in a lawsuit Baldoni “leaned forward and slowly dragged his lips from her ear and down her neck as he said, ‘it smells so good.’” The footage shows a similar interaction, where Baldoni is seen nuzzling Lively’s neck, and she says, “I’m probably getting spray-tan on you,” to which he responds, “It smells good.” Lively’s team says the footage fully corroborates her account, and “any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort.” Baldoni’s lawyers said the footage proves both actors clearly behaved “well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism.”

Jan. 16, 2025Baldoni filed a federal lawsuit in New York against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, her publicist Leslie Sloane and Sloane’s firm Vision PR alleging his co-star “tormented” him, his family and his partners, falsely accused him of sexual harassment and used him as a “scapegoat” to dodge the negative press surrounding. He also pushed back on claims he sexually harassed her, instead claiming she “calculatingly devised” fake stories to destroy his reputation and livelihood, seized control of the film he was directing and set out to damage his career and Wayfarer Studios “if they did not bend to her incessant demands” (Here’s more on Baldoni’s lawsuit).

Jan. 10, 2025Deadline reported Baldoni’s former publicist Stephanie Jones, who sued the actor and a handful of others for defamation and breach of contract in December, has issued subpoenas to WhatsApp, Signal, website hosts Hostinger and Name Cheap, digital publishing platform AnyFlip and chatbot company Gab AI in attempts to discover who may have been behind posts and websites aimed at harming Lively and Baldoni’s reputations.

Jan. 10, 2025Paul Feig, who directed Lively’s upcoming film “A Simple Favor 2,” responded to viral rumors the film had been shelved “indefinitely,” partially due to the Lively/Baldoni legal battle, calling it “total BS” and confirming the film “is finished and coming out soon.”

Jan. 8, 2025In an interview with Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, TMZ founder Harvey Levin said about the co-stars’ competing accusations about online campaigns to damage one another’s reputation: “Both sides tried to skew this story. We’ve been on the recipient end of that … It has happened on both sides in the Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni war. Both sides.” Freedman responded by saying, “That’s good to know.” (In recent days, Freedman has denied Lively’s allegations that she faced a smear campaign by Baldoni’s PR team, claiming Lively’s team was instead working to smear Baldoni.)

Jan. 7, 2025Freedman appeared on Megyn Kelly’s YouTube show to discuss Baldoni’s plans to sue Lively “into oblivion” and pushed back on several of the actresses’ allegations, accusing Lively of not reading the source material for the film, refuting claims she was sexually harassed and accusing her of orchestrating her own smear campaign against Baldoni. The interview also included newly released sound from a voice note from Baldoni explaining that he was “sent to the basement” of the film’s premiere because Lively “didn’t want me anywhere near her or the rest of the cast” (Here’s more on what Freedman said on Kelly’s show.)

Jan. 3, 2025Freedman told NBC’s “Today” he “absolutely” plans to file suit against Lively after she alleged she was subjected to “sexually inappropriate behavior” by Baldoni on the set of their 2024 film, but wouldn’t say exactly what the countersuit would allege, though denied Lively’s claim that Baldoni and his team launched a smear campaign against the actress.

Dec. 31, 2024Baldoni filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times for the paper’s reporting on Lively’s allegations, accusing the outlet of having “cowered to the wants and whims of two powerful ‘untouchable’ Hollywood elites”—Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

Dec. 31, 2024Lively formally filed a lawsuit in New York federal court against Baldoni, his publicist, Wayfarer Studios and other defendants for “retaliating against her for reporting sexual harassment and workplace safety concerns.”

Dec. 24, 2024Baldoni was sued by his ex-publicist, Stephanie Jones, over an alleged conspiracy to discredit her and steal her clients.

Dec. 24, 2024Vital Voices, a nonprofit that focuses on empowering women, rescinded an award it gave to Baldoni, who has made a career expressing his support of women’s stories and co-hosted a podcast about masculinity called “Man Enough,” which his co-host pulled out of the same day.

Dec. 20, 2024Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department claiming Baldoni invaded her privacy by “entering her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed,” pressured her to lose weight four months after giving birth and coordinated a PR campaign with a crisis firm “designed to ‘destroy’ Ms. Lively’s reputation.”

What Did Justin Baldoni Say In A Supposed Voice Note To Blake Lively?

The message, which was obtained by the Daily Mail and has since gone viral on TikTok, appears to be Baldoni apologizing for his reception to changes Lively proposed for a scene in “It Ends With Us.” Baldoni says his reaction to the changes “fell short” and thanked her for telling him how she was feeling about his response, according to the newspaper. “I f***ed up, that is a fail on my part,” he appears to say. “One thing you should know about me is that I am willing to apologize when I fail… I am a very flawed man, as my wife will attest.” Baldoni then appears to talk for almost another five minutes, in which he says there is “nothing more exciting to me” than working with Lively. The message does not specifically say which scene Baldoni is referring to but his lawsuit against Lively mentions tension over a rooftop scene in the film that Lively rewrote and presented to Baldoni as her own work before telling media outlets that her husband, Reynolds, actually wrote it.

    Key Background

Baldoni directed and co-starred with Lively in “It Ends With Us,” the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling book of the same name, which released last August. Rumors of a rift developing between Lively and Baldoni during post-production began to emerge around the movie’s release, and were further fueled during the film’s press tour when Lively appeared to avoid mention of Baldoni in interviews. Speculation emerged that there were disputes over creative control and sources told TMZ Baldoni had “fat-shamed” Lively by inquiring about her weight, telling an on-set trainer he wanted to avoid injury while lifting the actress in the movie. Baldoni and Lively were never photographed together while promoting “It Ends With Us.” As rumors of a feud grew, Baldoni hired Melissa Nathan, a crisis PR manager who represented Johnny Depp in his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard. According to texts published by The New York Times, Nathan suggested plans including “full social take downs” by creating “threads of theories” and planting pieces in the media of “how horrible Blake is to work with.” Lively said the alleged smear campaign had caused “severe emotional distress” for her and her family, prompting her to back out of hosting the “Saturday Night Live” season 50 premiere.

How Were These Text Messages From Baldoni Released?

Lively’s initial complaint included excerpts from thousands of pages of text messages and emails, which were the main focus of the Times article at the center of Baldoni’s lawsuit. The text messages were largely between Baldoni, his publicist Jennifer Abel and crisis management expert Melissa Nathan, and were obtained through a civil subpoena, Lively’s complaint said. A lawsuit filed by Baldoni’s ex-publicist Stephanie Jones, the founder of the Jonesworks publicity firm, days later revealed she was the source of the text messages, which were obtained from Abel’s work phone. In her own lawsuit against Baldoni, Jones claimed Abel was fired for conspiring to steal clients from her firm and Jones later had Abel’s company-issued phone “forensically preserved and examined in detail.” Lively’s team then obtained the texts through a subpoena against Jonesworks. The texts show discussions on how to coordinate a social media campaign against Lively, and how Baldoni wanted to feel like Lively “can be buried” under negative media. The messages show the trio talking about the “shift on social” against Lively, and reveal that Baldoni was aware of the negative messaging against her. Messages from Baldoni also show him encouraging the P.R. team, flagging social media posts for them to use and, in one case, suggesting “flipping the narrative” on a positive story about Lively and Reynolds, according to The Times. In other messages, he reiterates that the campaign needs to be untraceable.

    Surprising Fact

Around the time of the “It Ends With Us” premiere, Lively was the subject of intense criticism online targeting how she promoted the film, the opportune release of her haircare line and other behaviors. In one promotional video, Lively encourages the audience to “grab your friends, wear your florals and head out to see (the movie).” Fans instantly criticized Lively’s upbeat tone and claimed she was attempting to promote the movie as a lighthearted love story, cheapening the movie’s serious take on domestic abuse. Comments on the video attacked Lively—”shame on you and your PR team for turning a blind eye,” one said—but praised Baldoni for how he handled promotion. Lively was also criticized for seeming to promote her newly launched hair-care line, Blake Brown, off the back of the film, but it was later revealed that the two were never supposed to launch at the same time. Production delays caused by Hollywood strikes in 2023 pushed the premiere of “It Ends With Us,” then coinciding with the predetermined launch date of the brand. At the same time, Lively was freshly criticized for her reaction to an interviewer in a resurfaced 2016 clip. Lively’s lawsuits claim the public’s attacks were part of the smear campaign she says was orchestrated against her.

    Tangent

A number of celebrities have come out to support Lively since she filed her initial complaint, including Hoover, Lively’s “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” co-stars and actress Amber Heard, who claimed to be a victim of a similar social media takedown. Hoover, who The Times reported also refused to do press with Baldoni, posted to Instagram after Lively first made her allegations to call her “nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient.” America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn, who starred alongside Lively in her 2005 breakout role in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” slammed the “vindictive effort ensued to discredit her voice” and Heard said she has seen similar social media campaigns “firsthand and up close,” calling it “horrifying and destructive.” Actresses Kate Beckinsale and Abigail Breslin shared their own stories of harassment and retaliation in the wake of Lively’s lawsuit, and director Paul Feig posted that Lively “did not deserve any of this smear campaign.” Lively’s “It Ends with Us” costar Brandon Sklenar posted a link to the initial New York Times story and Jenny Slate, another co-star in the film, said she stands by her “loyal friend.” Amy Schumer posted a story on Instagram that said, “I believe Blake.” Political influencer Candace Owens posted in support of Baldoni after he was stripped of his Vital Voices award, writing that he should “have his day in court” before such drastic measures are taken.

The drama continues to unfold in the growing feud surrounding the bestselling novel “It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover. With tensions running high among fans and critics alike, it seems that the controversy shows no signs of slowing down.

One of the latest developments in the feud involves a heated debate on social media over the portrayal of the main characters and the sensitive subject matter addressed in the book. Some readers have expressed their dissatisfaction with how certain themes were handled, while others have come to the defense of the author and the story she has crafted.

  • Scottie Scheffler’s beach adventure ends with a ‘lucky’ par at Pebble

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Temperatures were plunging and the wind was whipping — not an ideal day for a walk on the beach. It turned out to be a par-saving moment for Scottie Scheffler on Friday in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Scheffler pulled his tee shot on the par-5 18th hole at Pebble Beach toward the Pacific Ocean. He never saw it carom off the rocks or splash in golf’s biggest water hazard.

His only other option was to take a penalty drop some 40 yards forward at the end of the tee box. So he figured he might as well walk 300 yards and take a look. Good thing he did.

“Saw a ball on the beach, went down there, found my ball, moved some rocks, hit it out, hit it on the green, two-putted,” Scheffler said, making it sound all so routine.

It took some good fortune, starting with find his golf ball. He had to take a long route to the beach, down a 5-foot rock shelf, walking back some 40 yards to find a smaller ledge to sea level, careful not to slip along the way. He also was able to move small rocks and seaweed around his ball.

Then it was a matter of hitting it cleanly enough with a wedge to get it over the cliff and back toward the fairway. Once he managed that, it was a 6-iron from 179 yards that he got to the back right of the green, leaving him two putts from 40 feet for a par and a 2-under 70.

Scheffler was seven shots behind going into the weekend, still very much in the mix, and a little lucky to not be further back.

“I’ve made good pars,” he said. “That one was more lucky than anything.”

Scheffler is not the only player to experience where Pebble Beach gets its name. Brandt Snedeker once made birdie from the beach in 2019.

Scheffler certainly would have taken a 5 from where he hit his tee shot, and he had few other complaints about his game considering this is his first real competition in nearly two months.

    AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025 – Round Two

Sepp Straka leads as Rory McIlroy eagles and Scottie Scheffler hits the beach at Pebble

Straka, who won a couple of weeks ago at The American Express, is back in front with two rounds to play at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

He had minor surgery on his right hand when glass punctured his upper palm while he was using a wine glass to cut homemade ravioli over Christmas. The swing looks good. He said his hand feels fine. But there is a small matter of rust he can detect.

One was obvious — a semi-shank on the 11th hole with a lob wedge from 82 yards away that led to his lone bogey on Friday.

There was also some brilliance, such as the 6-iron he hit across the ocean that settled about 2 feet away for birdie on No. 8, one of the toughest holes on the golf course.

“I think the last two days out here I haven’t felt at peak performance at all,” he said. “I think if you look at my strokes gained-ball striking numbers, they’re probably not near what they would normally be. And I think that’s just a little bit of competitive rust, kind of getting my feet back under me and playing tournament golf.

“To only have two bogeys, one of them being with a semi-shank, it’s pretty good.”

Scottie Scheffler’s beach adventure ends with a ‘lucky’ par at Pebble

Professional golfer Scottie Scheffler found himself in a precarious situation during the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, as his tee shot on the 18th hole landed in a sandy hazard on the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links.

With the Pacific Ocean looming behind him, Scheffler faced a difficult decision on how to approach his next shot. After assessing his options, Scheffler decided to take a risk and attempt to play the ball out of the hazard, rather than taking a penalty drop.

As he lined up his shot, spectators held their breath, wondering if Scheffler’s bold move would pay off. With a perfect swing, Scheffler executed the shot flawlessly, sending the ball soaring out of the sand and onto the green just a few feet from the hole.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Scheffler walked up to the green and calmly sank a putt for par, saving himself from what could have been a disastrous end to his round. After his round, Scheffler admitted that his shot out of the hazard was a bit of a lucky break, but he was grateful for the outcome.

Despite the pressure of playing on one of the most famous golf courses in the world, Scheffler’s composure and skill shone through, proving once again why he is one of the rising stars on the PGA Tour. It was a thrilling end to an already exciting tournament, and one that will surely be remembered for years to come.

  • ‘Kraven the Hunter’ Ends Box Office Run as Lowest-Grossing Sony Marvel Film

In news that isn’t all that surprising, Kraven the Hunter has ended its abysmal box office run by breaking another record, though it isn’t a good one. After grossing $59 million worldwide, the seemingly final film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) is now the lowest-grossing comic book movie in the franchise and one of the lowest ever in the genre. After multiple delays and release date changes, the film sputtered to the finish line after a release in December, and the end result was a box office gross that was even lower than what Madame Web earned in its theatrical run.

2024 saw the release of three different SSU films: Madame Web, Venom: The Last Dance, and Kraven the Hunter. It was a hefty theatrical slate that could have anyone convinced that Sony’s superhero venture was thriving. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t be the case, as Madame Web would only gross $100 million overall against its $80 million budget. Venom: The Last Dance would be the only box office success of the three films, with the film costing between $110-120 million and grossing $479 million.

On the other hand, Kraven the Hunter had a budget in the range of $110-130 million, meaning that the film wasn’t even able to make back what it had cost to produce it. The $26 million global opening for the film, which was also a record-low for the SSU, was a tell-tale sign that the film wouldn’t have legs, especially going up against films such as Wicked, Gladiator II, and Moana 2.

‘Kraven the Hunter’ Might Be the End of Sony’s Shared Universe

With the news of Kraven’s unfortunate box office intake, the future of the SSU seems more dire than ever. While the Venom franchise has undoubtedly helped the studio recoup some of the losses, it doesn’t seem likely that Sony will attempt to make more films based on Spider-Man supporting characters or villains. Despite the Venom films being financially successful, the trilogy of films— and even the rest of the SSU films as a whole— haven’t received a “fresh” Rotten Tomatoes score for any of its movies, with each being critically panned.

Sony’s “Death of the Blu-ray” Announcement Is Worrying, but Not as Shocking as It Seems

Sony’s recent announcement that they will not be producing new Blu-ray discs is not the physical media disaster it seems…yet.

From the Venom series to Morbius, and now Kraven the Hunter, the SSU has felt like a product of a bygone era of superhero films. As the genre of comic book movies continues to evolve, interconnected universes are now less of a novel idea and more of a requirement. Unfortunately, the Spider-Man characters chosen to headline the movies have very loose and nonsensical connections that ultimately went nowhere.

Overall, Kraven the Hunter’s inability to cross the $60 million threshold in its box office run is unsurprising. Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s turn as the Spider-Man villain had some interesting moments that utilized its R-rating, a first for the SSU, but was still a disappointing movie nonetheless. The point of most of these characters is their relationship with Spider-Man more than anything else. Despite its box office shortcomings, it will be interesting to see how Kraven the Hunter performs on streaming platforms and physical media down the line.

The film, which starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, was met with mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Many cited the lackluster storyline and underdeveloped characters as major drawbacks, ultimately leading to the film’s poor performance at the box office.

With a worldwide gross of just $150 million, Kraven the Hunter now holds the unfortunate title of the lowest-grossing Sony Marvel film to date. This disappointing outcome has raised questions about the future of the franchise and whether Sony will continue to invest in these standalone Marvel projects.

Despite this setback, Sony remains committed to expanding its Marvel Universe with upcoming projects such as Morbius and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Only time will tell if these films will fare better at the box office and help revitalize the studio’s superhero offerings.

  • Budget 2025 Stock Market Live Updates | Sensex falls 200 pts as Budget presentation ends; Nifty50 below 23,450; India VIX eases 10%

Share buybacks have long been a popular exit strategy for investors. Effective October 1, 2024, amendments under the Finance (No. 2) Act 2024 classify buyback proceeds as dividends, taxable as “income from other sources” for shareholders. Additionally, the acquisition cost is treated as a capital loss, which can be offset against other capital gains.

This creates an anomaly where shareholders may pay tax on amounts equivalent to their capital investment, without any actual income gain. While capital loss benefits are available, they may not always be useful. To address this, it is recommended that buyback proceeds equivalent to the capital returned be exempt from tax, with no corresponding capital loss be recorded.

  • Here’s The Exact Time ‘Fortnite OG’ Season 1 Ends And Season 2 Begins

It’s about that time . . . again. Tilted Towers makes its triumphant return in Fortnite OG Season 2. Get ready to dive into the most famous and beloved Fortnite named location as though it’s the first time all over again.

Epic Games is taking players through all the game’s original seasons, replete with the old map and the many ways it changed over the months and years. Season 1 has been a big hit and Season 2 promises to be even better. Read on to find out everything you need to know about the upcoming season including when Season 1 ends, server downtime and when you’ll be able to check out the new version of one of Fortnite’s most excellent maps.

    What’s New In Season 2?

Alongside the advent of Tilted Towers, Season 2 of the original game introduced small shield potions. Tilted wasn’t the only new named location, either, and the Season 2 map will also introduce:

    • Haunted Hills
    • Junk Junction
    • Shifty Shafts
    • Snobby Shores

New items added in Season 2’s original release included:

    • Boogie Bomb
    • Chug Jug
    • Cozy Campfire
    • Cupid’s Crossbow
    • Damage Trap (uncommon)
    • Impulse Grenade

One big change is the vaulting of Godzilla, who will no longer be available as a foe on the OG map.

When Does Season 1 End And Season 2 Begin?

Fortnite OG Season 1 will wrap up on Thursday, January 30th though it’s not clear the exact time servers will go down. You only have hours at this point to wrap up the Season 1 Battle Pass and finish any other challenges you wanted to complete.

We also don’t have an exact start-time for Season 2, but we do know the timing for Season 1’s launch and it’s likely that Epic will stick to the same format. If so, here is when Season 2 will go live on Friday, January 31st:

    • 6 a.m. PST for the west coast of North America
    • 9 a.m. EST for the east coast of North America
    • 2 p.m. GMT for the U.K.

Fortnite OG Season 2 Trailer And Battle Pass Skins

Here’s the Fortnite OG Season 2 trailer. You can spot a bunch of the new skins in the footage:

As you can see, a lot of familiar skins are getting a remix overhaul. Expect new looks for classic skins like Cuddle Team Leader, Black Knight and Brite Bomber.

If any new information about Fortnite OG Season 2 releases before tomorrow, I’ll update this post. I keep hoping that Epic Games will bring back the old-school challenges that made early seasons of this game so much fun. Finding secret loading screens, hidden treasures and all the other creative challenges the game used to do was a lot of fun but it’s been years now since anything like this was a major component of the popular Battle Royale. Still, it’ll be fun to dive back into Tilted, get into gunfights in Haunted Hills and Shifty Shafts and discover whatever else the game has up its sleeve.

  • REVEALED: Justin Baldoni’s voice note to Blake Lively addressing It Ends With Us rooftop scene feud

It’s one of the most eye-opening revelations to emerge in the messy It Ends With Us saga so far: Blake Lively appearing to threaten co-star Justin Baldoni by comparing herself to Game of Thrones character Khaleesi and referring to husband Ryan Reynolds and bestie Taylor Swift as her ‘dragons’.

Now DailyMail.com has obtained exclusive audio which sheds further light on the feud which arose when Lively, 37, made changes to the rooftop scene in the romantic drama film – not all of which were met with unqualified praise.

Text messages from April 2023 included in the $400million lawsuit filed against the actress show a dejected Lively expressing her disappointment at Baldoni’s lukewarm response to her version of the scene which had been praised by her husband and her superstar best friend.

The spat saw her go silent for several days until Baldoni ‘felt obliged’ to send her a text message saying he liked her pages and noting that he ‘would have felt that without Ryan and Taylor’, according to the complaint.

Lively would then respond with a lengthy text that said: ‘They [Reynolds and Swift] also know I’m not always good at making sure I’m seen and utilized for fear of threatening egos, or fear of affecting the ease of the process.

‘They don’t give a s*** about that. And because of that, everyone listens to them with immense respect and enthusiasm. So I guess I have to stop worrying about people liking me.’

The feud arose when Lively, 37, made changes to the film's famous rooftop scene. Baldoni replied with a voicemail, in which the clearly rattled actor could be heard offering Lively a groveling apology and noting 'I fell short' over his response to her changes; Lively and Baldoni seen in a still

DailyMail.com obtained exclusive audio which sheds further light on the feud which arose when Blake Lively, 37, made changes to the film’s famous rooftop scene

Lively admitted that Baldoni's response to her version of the scene 'didn't feel great for me' after he seemed hesitant about many of the changes, but thanked her for her 'passion'

In text messages included in his filing, Lively admitted that Baldoni’s response to her version of the scene ‘didn’t feel great for me’ after he seemed hesitant about many of the changes, but thanked her for her ‘passion’

Baldoni replied with a voicemail, published today for the first time, in which the clearly rattled actor could be heard offering Lively a groveling apology and noting ‘I fell short’ over his response to her changes.

In the full audio message, which is just over six and a half minutes long, he goes on to say that he is pleased she feels comfortable enough to tell him that and describes himself as ‘a very flawed man, as my wife will say.’

Baldoni then addresses Lively’s dragon threat directly, saying: ‘Damn right, you got great friends. If that’s how you felt and they knew that. F***.

‘We should all have friends like that, aside from the fact they’re two of the most creative people on the planet… The three of you guys together is unbelievable. Talk about energy. Force. All three of you.’

But, he reiterates, he did not need their names to be raised over the changes to the scene and instead goes on to praise the glamorous blonde – highlighting her work ethic and creative vision.

He said: ‘I just wanted you to know, I didn’t need that. It’s really good and it’s going to make the movie sing like you said and I’m excited to go through the whole movie with you.

A text message exchange from April 15, 2023 shows Baldoni praising Lively's version of the rooftop scene and Lively complimenting his work as a director and actor in return

In a subsequent text that has gone viral on social media, Lively compares herself to the formidable ruler in Game of Thrones Khaleesi and claims to have a 'few dragons' who are widely speculated to be husband Ryan Reynolds and bestie Taylor Swift

‘You and I have been trying to build a relationship which I think we’ve done successfully. Here we are talking together at 2am in the morning.

‘But largely via text and voicemail and I will admit, that’s not my biggest strength. I love being with people and being in somebody’s space and being face-to-face and I think that’s where I excel.

‘But I’ve definitely fallen short at times in our texts and voicemail exchanges because there’s so much to communicate and so much happening.

‘All I have to say is I’m really looking forward to spending time together and I believe that’s going to go a long way for our chemistry, which I believe is there. It’s been there from the start so I was so damn excited when you agreed to do this film. I believe it comes from us both being so hard working and having a vision.

‘I’m excited to have a creative partner in that with you.’

The new audio comes as the drama over It Ends With Us rumbles on, with Lively and Reynolds facing imminent subpoenas from Baldoni’s legal team.

According to his complaint, Lively’s reference to her ‘dragons’ was a ‘clear message’ that he was also up against to ‘two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world’

At the same time, lawyers working for the A-list couple have made a fresh bid to gag Baldoni’s side – writing to New York judge Lewis J. Liman in a bid to shut down a website they plan to launch which will contain copies of every text and email exchanged by the warring parties.

The letter, seen by DailyMail.com, also accuses Baldoni’s team of launching ‘character attacks’ on Lively and of making ‘false and defamatory’ statements.

It goes on to ask Judge Liman to prevent the launch of the website on the basis it could influence a jury pool and requests a conference with both sides present to discuss it.

The battle between Lively and Baldoni began with rumors of rancor behind the scenes of It Ends With Us when it was released last August.

It then exploded into a legal fight just before Christmas when the Gossip Girl actress sued Baldoni for sexual harassment.

The film at the heart of the feud, based on the 2016 bestseller by Colleen Hoover, was released in August and was a box office hit. It follows Lily Bloom, a florist played by Lively, who falls in love with a charming but abusive neurosurgeon played by Baldoni, who was also the film's director

At the same time, the New York Times released a story based on Lively’s legal filing that accused him of orchestrating a negative publicity campaign against her and put the smell claim front and center.

In turn, Baldoni sued the Times for defamation and, two weeks go, launched a lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds that accused her of using her celebrity power to hijack his film and attempt to torpedo his career.

Since then, torrents of new information have come to light – including raw footage of a scene that Lively claimed had seen Baldoni subject her to sexual harassment by dragging his lips up her neck and telling her ‘it smells so good’.

Lively had insisted the clip had no audio and the microphones were switched off – and therefore, nobody heard the alleged harassment.

But DailyMail.com’s raw footage proved that Baldoni’s microphone was switched on and that the alleged abuse was in fact a discussion about the smell of Lively’s fake tan – throwing her claims into doubt.

The warring co-stars are also heard discussing their other halves, with Lively saying she and Reynolds talk ‘all the time’ while Baldoni says he and wife Emily stare at each other ‘for 10, literally like we’ve done it for five minutes’.

DailyMail.com previously published raw footage showing the slow dance montage scene during which Lively claimed Baldoni had sexually harassed her by nuzzling her neck and declaring: 'It smells so good'

Lively then bursts into laughter as he tells her ‘I think you would find it terrifying’. When Lively continues to tell him about how she can’t stop talking to Reynolds, Baldoni compliments: ‘Oh, I think that’s cute. You guys are really cute.’

Awkwardly, she replies ‘I think it’s more than cute’ which he hastily agrees with, adding ‘I think you guys are amazing.’

The incident formed a key plank of the sex harassment lawsuit Lively filed against Baldoni before Christmas, along with claims he deliberately set out to smear her and ruin her reputation.

Baldoni’s counter-suit says Lively attempted to hijack his film, failed to read the novel on which the movie is based until long after filming had begun and orchestrated a negative publicity campaign of her own with the connivance of her own publicist Leslie Sloane and the New York Times.

The actress and her team are also accused of doctoring text conversations between Baldoni’s publicists to make them look damning and as if they’re plotting a smear campaign against her – which led to both being subjected to social media abuse when the edited texts were published.

Baldoni’s cross-complaint also revealed that he and his family had been forced to spend the premiere of It Ends With Us sitting in a basement because Lively refused to allow him to be in the same room as her.

Recently, a voice note from Justin Baldoni to Blake Lively addressing the rooftop scene feud in the film “It Ends With Us” has been revealed. In the voice note, Baldoni expresses his thoughts and feelings about the controversy surrounding the scene and clarifies his intentions behind it.

In the voice note, Baldoni explains that the rooftop scene was meant to create a powerful and emotional moment in the film, highlighting the complex and difficult issues surrounding domestic abuse. He emphasizes that the scene was not meant to offend or upset anyone, but rather to shine a light on an important and often overlooked issue.

Baldoni goes on to express his admiration and respect for Lively as a talented actress and collaborator, and apologizes if there was any misunderstanding or hurt caused by the scene. He reassures Lively that his intentions were always pure and that he deeply values their working relationship.

Overall, the voice note reveals the heartfelt and genuine intentions behind the controversial rooftop scene in “It Ends With Us,” and highlights the importance of open communication and understanding in creative collaborations.

  • Trail Blazers’ winning streak ends with loss to Thunder

The Portland Trail Blazers’ four-game winning streak came to a screeching halt against the Oklahoma City Thunder Sunday afternoon at the Moda Center.

But there’s no shame in losing to the Thunder, even by a score of 118-108.

“I thought we hung in there,” Blazers coach Chauncey Billups said. “I thought we played hard. We played well. We played pretty much even with them for three quarters.”

The Blazers’ four-game run produced a defensive rating of 99.2, the best in the NBA during that stretch.

The Thunder, who have the league’s best record, weren’t impressed. They entered the game as one of the most balanced in the NBA, ranked No. 1 in defensive rating (103.7) and No. 6 in offensive rating.

The Thunder dominated Portland in virtually every imaginable way. Points in the paint (52-22), turnovers (8-15), second-chance points (28-13).

The Blazers’ inability to keep the Thunder out of the paint proved to be impossible to overcome.

“That’s everybody’s problem,” Billups said. “They’re the best in the league at it. We talked about it. They put their head down and they drive, drive, drive, drive, kick, swing all game.”

If not for the Blazers’ better-than-usual shooting from three-point range (45%), this game could have gotten ugly.

Toumani Camara scored a career-high 24 points on 8-for-11 shooting. Deni Avdija’s 28 points and eight assists were both season highs. He also had eight rebounds.

Scoot Henderson came off the bench to score 25 points while shooting 5 of 11 from beyond the arc. Anfernee Simons scored 14 and Jerami Grant didn’t make his first and only basket until early in the fourth quarter.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexender led the Thunder with 35 points on 12-of-25 shooting. Jalen Williams scored 24.

The Blazers took an early 14-4 lead in the first with two threes from Camara and one from Avdija. But the Thunder, led by Gilgeous-Alexander’s 12 points, dominated the rest of the quarter to make the score 27-27 entering the second.

The Thunder pushed their lead to 19 points and took a 66-53 advantage into halftime.

The Blazers hung around in the third and fell behind by 15 in the fourth quarter before rallying to trail 110-104, when Anfernee Simons hit a three with 2:37 remaining.

But the Blazers couldn’t put together defensive stops to get them a chance to win.

“You have one tough quarter, and treading uphill against a good team makes it tough,” Billups said.

    WHAT IT MEANS

The Blazers (17-29) hung tough with the Thunder (37-8) for the second time this season. Portland lost 109-99 at Oklahoma City on Nov. 20.

“It’s the first seed in the West,” Avdija said. “A great team. I feel like we did a lot of great things. We’ve been playing better, coming off a four-game winning streak. You can just see how we’re playing much, much better, and how we’re growing individually and as a team.”

The Blazers and Thunder will meet for the final time this season on Mar. 7 in Oklahoma City.

    NEXT UP

The Blazers host Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks (25-18) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Portland Trail Blazers’ impressive winning streak came to an end on Tuesday night as they fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 110-103.

Despite a valiant effort from Damian Lillard, who finished with 32 points, the Blazers were unable to overcome the strong play of the Thunder. Oklahoma City’s balanced scoring attack, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 23 points, proved to be too much for Portland to handle.

The loss snaps a six-game winning streak for the Trail Blazers, who had been playing some of their best basketball of the season. However, they will look to bounce back quickly as they continue their push for a playoff spot in the highly competitive Western Conference.

While the streak may have come to an end, the Trail Blazers remain a dangerous team and will be looking to start a new winning streak in their next game. Stay tuned for more updates on Portland’s quest for postseason success.
