  • Eric Stonestreet gets real about Josh Allen, reveals most underrated Bills players

Eric Stonestreet, one of the stars of popular TV series Modern Family, has been obsessed with the Kansas City Chiefs since childhood, and is a legit football fan. Knowledgable? Definitely. Stonestreet played football in high school and as he dropped tidbits about offense, defense and the organizational culture of NFL teams, it’s clear he knows the game. Passionate? No question. The guy was dropping names of Chiefs players from decades ago, has a box suite at Arrowhead, and his anticipation of the AFC Championship matchup was palpable.

Stonestreet was crystal clear about his tempermant while watching a game, “No one really talks to me…my fiance ‘knows I dont’ want to host a party…conversation is not something we’re going to enjoy. ..during the game, no conversations…[except] football talk is permissable.” Intense! Chiefs Kingdom is lucky to have you, E.

With a pretty good quarterback on his own team, Stonestreet don’t hold back in complimenting Josh Allen, “I love Josh Allen. I said many times, if Patrick wasn’t my quarterback, I’d want Josh Allen. I imagine Bills fans feel the same.” Later on, in discussing how a great quarterback changes a team, Stonestreet wisely pointed out, “Think about how your 4th and 2’s have changed from seven years ago to having Josh Allen. Fourth and two?! And I have Josh Allen – I’m not worried anymore!” Which is why the Bills, at 72.7%, have the 2nd highest fourth down conversion rate in the league.

“This if pure football…it is winning the one-on-one matchups when we have to, when we need to and…more than anything, functioning as unit on both sides of the ball. This year more than any, Kansas City has had to come together… as a team. Is it the most fun football to watch? No!” As Glab noted, the Chiefs scored more than 30 points twice this season – definitely not fun. The Bills on the other hand averaged 30.9 points per game. But 15-2 isn’t bad, Stonestreet!

“Offensive linemen are the only position on the field where if you don’t do your job…someone gets hurt.” And that someone for the Bills would be Josh Allen. Would not be good. Which is why it was comforting to hear Stonestreet hail the job that the Bills offensive line has done all year. Yes, Eric played O-line himself so he may be biased but that doesn’t make him wrong. The Bills big men began to get a little recognition toward the end of the season but it’s hard for most fans to see past Josh Allen. Again, not the savvy Stonestreet.

Stonestreet shared his thoughts on potential AFC opponents for his Chiefs, “I kinda thought, going into the season, maybe the [Bills] had lost their window…was these last two yearsthe Bills chance to take over the AFC? It wasn’ t until we faced each other that I thought, ‘oh, the Bills are really good again. F—. Awesome.” He added, “I’d rather play the Ravens but I’d rather beat [the Bills] – because of [our] great rivalry that’s been cemented [over the last several years].”

We will find out Sunday, Mr. Stonestreet. At the very least, we hope no one talks to you during the game. As you said, “May the best team win!”

In a recent interview, actor Eric Stonestreet opened up about his love for the Buffalo Bills and shared his thoughts on quarterback Josh Allen. Stonestreet, a die-hard Bills fan, praised Allen for his incredible talent and leadership on the field, calling him a “game-changer” for the team.

But Stonestreet didn’t stop there – he also revealed who he believes are the most underrated players on the Bills roster. According to the actor, defensive tackle Ed Oliver and wide receiver Cole Beasley are two players who don’t get enough recognition for their contributions to the team.

Oliver, a former first-round draft pick, has been a force on the defensive line, consistently disrupting opposing offenses and making big plays. Beasley, on the other hand, has been a reliable target for Allen in the passing game, consistently making tough catches and moving the chains.

Stonestreet’s insights shed light on the depth and talent of the Bills roster, showing that there are plenty of players who deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication to the team. With Allen leading the way and players like Oliver and Beasley stepping up, the Bills are poised for success in the upcoming season.

  • Harry Kane and Eric Dier make Bundesliga history with all-time first in Bayern Munich win

Harry Kane and Eric Dier combined for a goal in the Bundesliga to become the first Englishmen to do so in the league’s history.

Kane opened the scoring for Bayern Munich in the 15th minute of their clash against SC Freiburg – a fixture that they won 2-1.

On the right-hand side of the pitch, Dier played a pass into the feet of the striker who turned his man and fired into the bottom corner of Noah Atubolu’s net.

It was Kane’s 17th league goal of the season, edging him closer to the Bundesliga’s Golden Boot award.

It was also a strike which ended a rather unique run in which Kane had failed to score from open play in two months.

His closest competitor for the trophy was Omar Marmoush, formerly of Eintracht Frankfurt, who recently completed a £59m move to Manchester City.

Kim Min-jae followed suit next with a goal in the 54th minute to double the lead.

Freiburg did score soon after but it was simply a consolation goal.

Speaking on his Cleats Club messaging app afterwards, Kane said: “Big away win today guys, really tough place to go.

“I think they had one of the best home records in the Bundesliga this year, so knew it was going to be a big fight and tough battle.

“So year, top mentality from the boys to go there and get the three points, and put ourselves a couple more points ahead was really important today so massive credit to everyone for the way we’ve worked and the way we’ve bounced back from midweek is really important.

“We use this now, two home games coming up, and another big week – so yeah, let’s keep the three points coming.”

Before the match, Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl was asked directly about Kane’s lack of goals from open play.

He said: “Harry is the least of my worries. When you have a young player, you might worry more, but Harry Kane has had so many highs and also some lows.

“So if anyone can cope and deal with it, it’s Harry Kane,” he added.

“He hasn’t scored from open play for a long time, but he also was injured. Of course, we need his goals.

“He knows that and is probably the one who is most critical of himself. But I don’t think it’s causing a mental problem for Harry.”

Kane since coming to Germany has not been a stranger to criticism despite an impressive 66 goals in 69 appearances.

Dier has also been slammed for his performances for Bayern but has been a key piece for the club, especially when the likes of Dayot Upamecano and Kim are unavailable.

“Eric is a player with a lot of experience who knows what to do in these moments,” said Vincent Kompany earlier this month. “Players like Eric have character and always prioritise the team.”

Kane and Dier, who played together at Tottenham, are yet to attain silverware for Bayern as Bayer Leverkusen infamously won their first-ever title last season.

But with Xavi Alonso’s side drawing with RB Leipzig, Bayern are now six points clear on top of the table.

In a historic moment for English footballers in the Bundesliga, Harry Kane and Eric Dier have made history with an all-time first in Bayern Munich’s recent win.

In their match against Bayern Munich, Kane and Dier became the first English players to score in a Bundesliga game together. Kane netted a goal in the first half, while Dier scored a crucial goal in the second half to secure a 2-1 victory for their team.

This milestone achievement not only showcases the talent and skill of these two players but also highlights the increasing presence of English players in top European leagues.

Fans and pundits alike are buzzing about this feat, with many praising Kane and Dier for their impressive performances on the pitch. It’s a proud moment for English football and a sign of things to come for these two talented players.

Congratulations to Harry Kane and Eric Dier for making history in the Bundesliga and for putting English football on the map in Germany. Here’s to many more memorable moments to come! #Bundesliga #HarryKane #EricDier #BayernMunich #EnglishFootball

  • REI President & CEO Eric Artz Announces Retirement; Mary Beth Laughton to Become the Co-op’s Next President & CEO

    Appointment Follows Planned Succession Process

SEATTLE, Jan. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — REI Co-op president & CEO, Eric Artz, today announced that he will retire in March as CEO, marking a new chapter in the co-op’s 87-year history. Mary Beth Laughton, a former REI Board Director and seasoned retail leader, will join REI as president on February 3, 2025, before assuming full CEO responsibilities on March 31.

Laughton has held leadership roles at Nike, Athleta, and Sephora. Her experience and personal passion balance strategic vision for the future of retail, innovation and operational rigor, love for the outdoors, and appreciation for the co-op’s unique culture. She has also held board roles with Impossible Foods and Instacart. During the planned handover period, Mary Beth will be out on the road and in stores and distribution centers, building connections with employees, partners and community members.

“Eric has led and stabilized REI through some of the most challenging years the retail sector and our co-op ever faced. REI is in a strong position today because he always kept our purpose, values, and people as his north star,” said Chris Carr, Chair of the REI Board of Directors. “Mary Beth has the ideal experience to build on this foundation and to lead REI forward into our next chapter. The world needs a strong REI, and we are confident Mary Beth will hit the ground running.”

“Serving you and this enduring organization has been the honor of my professional life,” said Artz in a letter to employees this morning. “Being outside means something different for everyone and our job is not to tell people what that looks like. It is to show one another and to welcome others, always making time outside more accessible to more people in more ways. That is worth fighting for.”

“No other company balances purpose and performance quite like REI, and we must ensure it thrives for generations to come,” said Laughton. “That is a big responsibility – one I embrace with utmost respect for our millions of members and the thousands of employees whose passion for life outside and deep expertise set the co-op apart. I know that we will go further together and cannot wait to join you and build our future.”

As REI moves through this transition, the Board and executive leadership team remain focused on ensuring stability for its employees, members, and partners while building on the growth the co-op saw at the end of 2024. REI expects to meet its 2024 goals of break-even operating profit (Pre-Dividend Operating Income) and near break-even Free Cash Flow. This is a significant improvement versus 2023 for both metrics.
