  • Antonio Banderas’ Ex Melanie Griffith Evacuated to Daughter Stella’s During L.A. Fires (Exclusive)

Antonio Banderas‘ family in Los Angeles remains safe, weeks after a series of devastating wildfires broke out across the city.

Banderas, 64, tells PEOPLE in a recent interview about his Bosch Super Bowl commercial that his ex-wife Melanie Griffith and other members of her family stayed with their daughter Stella Banderas after they were ordered to evacuate from their homes in the initial days after fires burst out across L.A. county on Jan. 7.

“With Dakota, I think she was out of Los Angeles,” Banderas says of his stepdaughter Dakota Johnson, who has been photographed traveling through India with her fiancé Chris Martin during Coldplay’s world tour in recent days. “But I talk all the time with my daughter Stella. I continue doing it and I know everybody’s fine. I know that Melanie was at some point, the whole entire area where she lives, they got the evacuation. And so her, my ex mother-in-law, some friends of my daughter, they were all living with my daughter because she was in an area that was not [affected].”

Babygirl actor Banderas was married to Griffith, 67, from 1996 to 2015. The pair share Stella, 28, and Johnson, 35, has always been close to Banderas. Her father is Don Johnson, whom Griffith was previously married to. Griffith also shares son Alexander Bauer with ex-husband Steven Bauer and and stepson Jesse Johnson with Don, now 75.

“It’s so sad,” Banderas, who lives in Spain, says of the ongoing wildfires in L.A., which he described as “difficult to understand for European people.”

Thousands of structures have been destroyed by the multiple fires that have broken out in L.A. over the last two-plus weeks, with 27 deaths caused by the still-burning Palisades and Eaton Fires. More than 80,000 people have been displaced by the fires, including a significant number of celebrities who live throughout L.A. County.

“My daughter was telling me, ‘Oh, Papi, I never experienced winds like this in Los Angeles. It was unbelievable, and it was very difficult to stop. We were seeing embers that were just flying miles and falling into another neighborhood,’ ” Banderas says. “So if you are not looking at the sky entire time, you can find the surprise that your house is just burning from the roof. So all of these things were happening all at the same time. . . It’s very difficult.”

“I suppose that’s gonna be a whole full investigation, just to see not only what happened, but how to avoid it in the future,” he adds. “But it’s very difficult for European people to understand that a big city like Los Angeles with so much investing, so much money and that something like this can happen, that neighborhoods, complete neighborhoods, they were flattened by fire. It’s weird. It’s just strange.”

Banderas’ commercial with Bosch will air during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9.

In the midst of the devastating wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles, actress Melanie Griffith found herself in need of a safe haven. The ex-wife of Antonio Banderas was forced to evacuate her home and seek refuge at her daughter Stella’s residence.

According to sources close to the family, Griffith’s daughter Stella, whom she shares with ex-husband Don Johnson, opened her doors to her mother during this difficult time. The mother-daughter duo is said to be staying together and supporting each other through the chaos and uncertainty of the wildfires.

Griffith’s ex-husband Antonio Banderas has reportedly reached out to offer his support and ensure the safety of his former wife. Despite their past differences, it’s heartening to see the Hollywood family come together in a time of crisis.

Our thoughts are with Melanie Griffith, Stella, and all those affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles. Stay safe, everyone.

  • Thousands in Ethiopia evacuated due to Rift Valley seismic activity

Authorities in Ethiopia said they are evacuating residents in the Rift Valley in the country’s central regions, ahead of dangerous seismic activity from volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. VOA’s Philip Alexiou and Yeheyes Wuhib report on how seismologists and geophysicists are working to calculate and predict which areas will be among the most impacted.Authorities in Ethiopia said they are evacuating residents in the Rift Valley in the country’s central regions, ahead of dangerous seismic activity from volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. VOA’s Philip Alexiou and Yeheyes Wuhib report on how seismologists and geophysicists are working to calculate and predict which areas will be among the most impacted.

Thousands of people in Ethiopia have been forced to evacuate their homes due to increasing seismic activity along the Rift Valley region. The Ethiopian government has issued evacuation orders for several towns and villages near the epicenter of the earthquakes, which have been occurring with alarming frequency in recent days.

The Rift Valley is a highly seismically active area, known for its frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The recent increase in seismic activity has raised concerns about the potential for a major earthquake in the region, prompting authorities to take swift action to protect the safety of residents.

Emergency relief efforts are underway to provide shelter, food, and medical assistance to those affected by the evacuations. The government is working to ensure that all necessary resources are available to support those displaced by the earthquakes, and to prepare for any potential further seismic activity.

As the situation continues to unfold, it is crucial for residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and follow the guidance of local authorities. Our thoughts are with those impacted by this natural disaster, and we hope for a swift and safe resolution to the ongoing seismic activity in the Rift Valley region.

The LA wildfires have been ongoing in Los Angeles County since Tuesday.

Ten people have since died, with over 100,000 people evacuated in the affected areas, CNN reported.

According to the outlet, 10,000 properties have been destroyed – as four wildfires are still ongoing in the county.

Neighborhoods have been flattened due to the Palisades Fire – in the Pacific Palisades – as well as the Eaton Fire – in Altadena.

Heidi Klum and her husband Tom Kaulitz were spotted soaking up the sun on the beaches of St. Barts, but what caught everyone’s attention was Heidi going topless. The supermodel and TV personality didn’t seem to have a care in the world as she showed off her incredible figure while enjoying a romantic day with her husband.

The couple’s beach day comes just days after Tom’s brother, Bill Kaulitz, was forced to evacuate his home in Los Angeles due to the devastating wildfires that have been raging in the area. Despite the turmoil back home, Heidi and Tom seemed to be in good spirits as they relaxed on the sandy shores of the Caribbean island.

Heidi, 48, looked stunning as always in a tiny black bikini bottom and a straw hat, while Tom, 32, showed off his tattoos and toned physique in a pair of swim trunks. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they frolicked in the crystal-clear waters and shared a few steamy kisses.

It’s clear that Heidi and Tom are making the most of their time together and are not letting any distractions get in the way of their happiness. And judging by these photos, it seems like their love is stronger than ever.

  • Hundreds evacuated, interstate closed due to gas leak

Hundreds of people were evacuated from stores in Seekonk and traffic halted for a brief time on I-195 in Seekonk after construction crews hit a six inch gas line at a construction site off Fall River Avenue.

Utility crews from Eversource scrambled to cap the leak and make repairs, while firefighters went to big-box stores and restaurants along nearby Route 6 to measure for gas and enforce brief evacuations, said Seekonk Fire Chief Shaun Whalen.

He said fire crews arrived on scene at approximately 8:56 A.M., and the gas company crews had gas service terminated by 9:40 A.M. to begin to effect repairs. The broken line was at the entrance to the former motel and Dublin Rose Sports Pub, where a future Whole Foods Market is under construction.

“We had evacuated everybody in the general vicinity, and as far down as Walmart, so we evacuated approximately 250 to 400 people, and we’re currently allowing those buildings to start to re-occupy after we have companies going there to meter and make sure there’s no gas readings inside the structures,” said Whalen shortly after the leak was capped.

“It’s estimated it was a six-inch line that was struck and torn right off the main. So we didn’t know how much gas we had impacting the highway. So we preliminarily shut the highway down as a precaution,” he said, estimating the shutdown of the interstate lasted only minutes.

Firefighters were going into nearby stores to check for gas levels, while workers at a Dunkin’ shop on Route 6 about a half mile away from the construction site said they were not evacuated, but could smell gas in the area.

Hundreds of people have been evacuated and a major interstate has been closed due to a gas leak in the area. Emergency crews are on the scene trying to contain the leak and ensure the safety of residents and motorists.

The incident has caused chaos and disruption as authorities work to secure the area and address the leak. Traffic is being diverted and residents are being urged to stay away from the affected area until the situation is under control.

Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops and authorities work to resolve the gas leak. Safety is the top priority, and officials are working diligently to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.
