Police respond to shooting at New Year’s Eve gathering
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A juvenile suspected of a shooting that occurred Tuesday night, outside of a party, is in police custody.

Shortly after 10 p.m. police responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 2500 block of 15th Street S.

Once officers arrived, they say, they learned there had been a fight between some juvenile males in the hallway of an apartment building.

A man from a neighboring unit tried to break up the fight and was struck by gunfire.

The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Three other people were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries they sustain during the fight.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office deployed a K-9 unit to assist in the search for the suspect but was unsuccessful.

However, the Metro Area Street Crimes unit arrested a juvenile suspect at his residence in Glyndon at around 3:22 a.m. Wednesday for aggravated assault with a firearm.

One person shot, boy arrested in New Years Eve fight in Fargo – InForum

Fargo police were dispatched at 10:31 p.m. Tuesday to multiple reports of a shooting in the 2500 block of 15th Street South.

Officers learned that juveniles attending a party had begun fighting in the hallway of the apartment building. A person from a neighboring unit tried to break up the fight between two boys in the hallway and was struck by gunfire, police said.

The unnamed shooting victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; three other unnamed victims were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries from the fight.

The shooting suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. The Metro Area Street Crimes unit was called to assist and later found and arrested the juvenile suspect at 3:22 a.m. at his home in Glyndon, Minn. The unnamed boy is accused of aggravated assault with a firearm, police said.

New Year’s Eve party at Fargo apartment ends in gunfire

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Multiple people are recovering after a New Year’s Eve party at a Fargo apartment ended in gunfire.

A teen boy was arrested in the case Wednesday morning at his home in Glyndon, Minnesota on aggravated assault with a firearm.

“It was around 10: 15 p.m. I was laying down. I just wanted to go to bed,” Tanya Frank said. “Next thing you know, I heard shots fired.”

Frank is the one who called police. She’s come to know her neighbors well in her eight years at the Southwood Apartments, west of the Bowler.

“You don’t want anybody you love to get hurt,” she added.

Neighbors said a fight broke out in the hallway and a young mother of five stepped out to see what was going on. Four shots rang out and she was struck in the leg by a stray bullet.

“I called to see if she was ok, if she knew what was going on,” Frank said. “I found out she was in the hospital. Talking to her husband, going through the tears, it’s heartbreaking.”

“I hate to say it, but maybe don’t step in. Let the police show up, unfortunately,” neighbor Justin Wiedrich said. “You don’t know what’s happening or how dangerous it can be. She’s in the hospital and she’s a wonderful lady.”

Three others were hurt in the fight. They tell Valley News Live they were having a party when two teen boys, who they didn’t know, showed up.

“In 30 years I’ve seen quite a lot around here. Multiple shootings, assaults,” Wiedrich added. “Last night really took the cake. There was a police presence around the entire block, probably 15-20 cars, multiple officers.”

Those like Frank echoed his concerns.

“There’s a whole lot of problems with safety here,” Frank said. “I need to get out of here.”

Everyone involved is expected to be ok. Police are still investigating.

According to the sign-up page on the inauguration website, those seeking to attend the rally can only register for up to two tickets on a first come, first served basis.

As the nation eagerly awaits the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, outgoing President Donald Trump has announced plans to headline a “victory rally” in the nation’s capital on the eve of the inauguration.

The rally, set to take place the night before Biden is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States, is expected to draw a large crowd of Trump supporters who continue to stand by the President despite his loss in the 2020 election.

Trump’s decision to hold a rally on the eve of Biden’s inauguration has sparked controversy and concerns about potential unrest in the city, as tensions remain high following the deadly riot at the Capitol earlier this month.

Critics have raised concerns about the rally potentially inciting violence or further dividing the country, while supporters see it as a way for Trump to bid farewell to his presidency and thank his loyal followers.

Simone Biles Shares New Year’s Eve Plans with Husband Jonathan — and Where They’ll Share a Midnight Kiss (Exclusive)
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are gearing up to ring in the new year together!

The seven-time Olympic gold medalist, 27, tells PEOPLE that because of her husband’s busy NFL schedule, the couple will likely be cozied up at home when the ball drops. But despite their low-key plans, Biles says her husband has a cute gesture up his sleeve.

“Me and Jonathan were actually talking about it, and I’m like, ‘We’ll probably be in bed before the ball drops anyways,’ ” she explains to PEOPLE in a recent chat about her Athleta gift guide. “And he said, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll get up. I’ll set an alarm for 12 so I could kiss you.’ ”

And while Biles, who will likely be curled up in some of her favorite Athleta pieces like the Forever Fleece High Rise Jogger and the Easy Fleece Half Zip this holiday season, “never really” makes a New Year’s resolutions because of her packed schedule, she says, “I just try to be the best person that I can be regardless.”

The couple will be spending much of the holiday season in Chicago this year, where Owens is currently playing for the Chicago Bears. Though Biles will miss being with her extended family on Christmas Day, due to Owens’ home game on Dec. 26, she says she looks forward to getting some quality time with her husband.

“This will be the first Christmas that we’ll spend alone together as a couple, which is actually really nice,” she says.

Looking beyond the football season, Biles says the pair, who tied the knot in 2023, are hoping to do some traveling together in the coming months.

“Jonathan and I want to go on a couple of vacations, we’re planning those out right now,” she says of her plans in the coming months. “But other than that, just trying to give back to the community as much as I can because they’ve supported me through this journey.”

As to if she’ll return to the Olympics for the 2028 games in L.A., though, Biles says she’s not making any decisions just yet.

“Absolutely not,” she says when asked if she’s given more thought to her return. “We’re barely done with this year.”

When asked where they’ll share their midnight kiss, Biles laughed and said, “We haven’t decided yet! It might be by the fireplace, or maybe out on the deck under the stars. Wherever it happens, I know it will be special and meaningful.”
