  • Fulham Eyeing Former Player who Marco Silva ‘Loves’

Fulham are being linked with a move to sign free-agent and former player Willian, and according to GIVEMESPORT sources, he still has good relations with the club after his time at Craven Cottage.

Willian left Olympiacos back in December, terminating his contract, meaning he’s available to join a new club for free. As a result of his free-agent status, Willian will be able to join a new side after the transfer window has closed.

Willian is ‘Loved’ by Marco Silva

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Willian still has good relations with Fulham after his time at Craven Cottage. Silva ‘loves’ the Brazilian, and with him being a free agent, Fulham could add attacking cover with Reiss Nelson and Harry Wilson picking up injuries.

GIVEMESPORT understands that Fulham have also made checks on AC Milan attacker Samuel Chukwueze to discover his condition and motivation after he was touted around the Premier League. Everton were also offered the player in the past week as they looked to see if there was any interest in the attacker.

GIVEMESPORT sources have also confirmed that Fulham are eyeing a late move to bring in a new right-back before the window slams shut, but we’re edging very close to the deadline. It could be a busy end to the window for the Cottagers as they look to get a few deals over the line.

  • 76ers Trade Rumors: Knicks, Celtics, Nuggets Among Teams Eyeing Guerschon Yabusele | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - JANUARY 15: Guerschon Yabusele #28 of the Philadelphia 76ers controls the ball against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on January 15, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Knicks defeated the 76ers 125-119 in overtime. Guerschon Yabusele is garnering trade interest in his second stint in the NBA.

The Philadelphia Inquirer‘s Keith Pompey named Yabusele as the Philadelphia 76ers’ “most enticing trade target for opposing teams” ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline.

Pompey named the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets as teams interested in acquiring the former 2016 first-round pick.

Yabusele began his NBA career by playing two seasons with the Boston Celtics before the team waived him in the summer of 2019.

He spent several years playing professionally in China, France and Spain before the Sixers brought Yabusele back to the NBA on a one-year veteran minimum contract.

Having played his way into a starting role while averaging 10.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, Yabusele has likely out-earned his $2 million salary this season.

The Sixers likely aren’t in a position to give him a raise next season after committing to pay more than $135 million to Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey in 2025-26.

Deciding whether to take advantage of the jump in Yabusele’s value to trade him this winter could hinge on if the Sixers see themselves as a postseason contender.

Heading into Sunday with a 19-28 record, the Sixers one game back from the Chicago Bulls for the last play-in spot in the Eastern Conference.

If the Sixers decide to push for the play-in round, keeping Yabusele, who played well during a recent four-game winning streak that lifted Philadelphia closer to the playoff picture, could be key to the team’s postseason hopes.

If Philadelphia decides to sell at the deadline, however, the team could be better served by taking advantage of Yabusele’s value to a win-now team by picking up draft assets.

SNY’s Ian Begley previously reported that the Knicks had checked in with the Sixers regarding Yabusele, and that his .400 shooting on 3.9 attempted 3-pointers per game could “benefit a Knick team that wants to keep the floor spread on offense.”

The Nuggets have been in need of frontcourt depth throughout the 2024-25 season. Denver’s bench has contributed 10.2 points per game, good for 27th in the NBA, through 49 games this season. Adding Yabusele as a depth option behind Nikola Jokić could help this team gear up for a playoff run.

The Celtics added to their frontcourt depth ahead of the 2024 trade deadline by adding Xavier Tillman Sr., but Tillman’s playing time has dropped to an average of just seven minutes through 26 games so far this season. Replacing him with Yabusele could be a bench upgrade for the defending champions.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been a hot topic of discussion in recent days as rumors swirl around potential trades involving forward Guerschon Yabusele. Several teams, including the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and Denver Nuggets, are reportedly interested in acquiring the talented young player.

Yabusele, a former first-round draft pick, has shown flashes of potential during his time with the 76ers, but has struggled to find consistent playing time on a deep roster. With the trade deadline approaching, Philadelphia may be looking to move Yabusele in exchange for assets that can help bolster their playoff push.

The Knicks, Celtics, and Nuggets are all in need of frontcourt depth and could benefit from adding a player like Yabusele to their roster. While no trade has been finalized yet, discussions are said to be ongoing and a deal could materialize in the coming days.

Stay tuned for more updates on the 76ers trade rumors involving Guerschon Yabusele, as news, scores, highlights, stats, and rumors continue to develop.

  • Federal investigators eyeing Terry Rozier’s play in 2023 game

MIAMI — Unusual betting patterns surrounding the play of then-Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier in a game nearly two years ago are now under investigation by federal prosecutors, part of the same probe that led to the lifetime ban of Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter, the NBA confirmed Thursday.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the investigation, noting that Rozier, who played for the Hornets at that time and now plays for the Miami Heat, has neither been charged with a crime nor has he been accused of wrongdoing.

The NBA said it looked into the matter at the time and did not find that any league rules were broken.

“In March 2023, the NBA was alerted to unusual betting activity related to Terry Rozier’s performance in a game between Charlotte and New Orleans,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement, first released to The Wall Street Journal and then to other outlets. “The league conducted an investigation and did not find a violation of NBA rules. We are now aware of an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York related to this matter and have been cooperating with that investigation.”

The U.S. Attorney’s office did not immediately comment. The Heat referred to the NBA statement when asked for comment.

“We are aware of the NBA’s 2023 investigation which determined there was absolutely no wrongdoing by Mr. Rozier and we are confident that the on-going government investigation will arrive at the exact same conclusion,” Rozier’s attorney Jim Trusty said.

The game involving Rozier that is in question was played March 23, 2023, a matchup between the Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans. Rozier played the first 9 minutes, 36 seconds of that game — and not only did not return that night, citing a foot issue, but did not play again that season.

Charlotte had eight games remaining and was not in playoff contention, so it did not seem particularly unusual that Rozier was shut down for the season’s final games.

In that March 23 game, Rozier finished with five points, four rebounds and two assists in that opening period — a productive quarter, but well below his usual total output for a full game.

Posts still online from March 23, 2023, show some bettors were furious with sportsbooks that evening when it became evident that Rozier was not going to return to the game after the first quarter, with many turning to social media to say that something “shady” had gone on regarding the prop bets involving his stats for that night.

One frustrated bettor posted an image of a ticket for a three-leg parlay where a $65 wager would have returned $401.95. The bettor played over 6.5 goals in the Tampa Bay-Ottawa NHL game and over 8.5 rebounds for Julius Randle, both of which hit. But the ticket didn’t cash because Rozier finished well below his prop bet of 32.5 combined points, assists and rebounds. The bettor picked Rozier to exceed those numbers.

Some sportsbooks offered Rozier prop bets — his totals for that night were generally set around 21.5 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds — on March 23, then took them down hours before the start of the Charlotte-New Orleans game. It was not clear why that happened, and some bettors wondered aloud why that unusual move had taken place. Rozier was not listed on the team’s injury report going into the game.

The 30-year-old Rozier is in the third year of a four-year, $96.3 million contract.

Porter’s ban came after a similar investigation into his performance and “prop bets” — wagers where bettors can choose whether a player will reach a certain statistical standard or not during a game. Last April, the NBA banned Porter for life after a league probe found he disclosed confidential information to sports bettors and wagered on games, even betting on his team to lose.

The Porter investigation started once the league learned from “licensed sports betting operators and an organization that monitors legal betting markets” about unusual gambling patterns surrounding Porter’s performance in a game on March 20, 2024, against Sacramento. The league determined that Porter gave a bettor information about his own health status prior that game and said that another individual — known to be an NBA bettor — placed an $80,000 bet that Porter would not hit the numbers set for him in parlays through an online sports book. That bet would have won $1.1 million.

The specifics of the bets that triggered the probe into the Hornets-Pelicans game are unknown.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

In a shocking turn of events, federal investigators are reportedly looking into Terry Rozier’s performance in a game that took place in 2023. The Charlotte Hornets guard has been under scrutiny for his play during this particular game, with allegations of potential foul play and match-fixing being raised.

Fans and analysts alike are stunned by these accusations, as Rozier has been a key player for the Hornets and has shown great skill and sportsmanship throughout his career. However, with investigators now involved, it remains to be seen what the outcome of their inquiry will be.

As more details emerge, the basketball world is watching closely to see how this situation unfolds and what implications it may have for Rozier and the Hornets. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

A guard, McClung led the G League in scoring with 25.7 points per game in 2023-24, and was named G League MVP for the Osceola Magic.

McClung, 26, played collegiately for Georgetown and Texas Tech.

  • Surprise Team Eyeing Ian Cunningham For Their GM Job

It looked like Ian Cunningham was once again not going to land a GM job in the NFL this year. He’d made it to the list of finalists for the position in Tennessee. Many felt he was a favorite. In the end, it went to Mike Borgonzi from Kansas City. While unfortunate, plenty of people inside Halas Hall were happy. It meant Cunningham would be around to help them with another crucial off-season. However, they may have jumped the gun on that. It appears another team is preparing to make a run at the Chicago Bears assistant GM.

News broke on Thursday that the Jacksonville Jaguars had fired GM Trent Baalke after a tumultuous several years on the job. It is believed this was done to ensure they secured top coaching candidate Liam Coen, which they have since done. Now, they must fill out the GM slot. According to Mia O’Brien, who covers the Jaguars for 1010 XL on 92.5 FM, there is a strong belief that mutual interest exists between Cunningham and Jacksonville.

Ian Cunningham being interested in Jacksonville isn’t a surprise.

Multiple factors suggest it’s a good landing spot. For one, the owner is notorious for keeping his general managers in place even if the team doesn’t do well. David Caldwell served eight seasons there, and Baalke served four. He would inherit a talented quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, meaning he wouldn’t have to focus his roster plans on finding one. They aren’t in a terrible cap situation and sit in a relatively mediocre division. That would present a big opportunity to make an immediate impact.

There is no such thing as a perfect landing spot. Ian Cunningham knows this. Jacksonville is far from that. Still, it offers many perks that other organizations can’t offer. That includes the 5th overall pick in the draft. If ever there was a time to make the jump, this would be it. Presuming it happens, the Bears would be compensated with two 3rd round draft picks per the NFL rule of minority hires. It would be a tough loss for the front office but a great opportunity for him. Co-director of player personnel Jeff King feels like the probable successor in such an event.

The NBA offseason is always full of surprises, and this latest development is no exception. Rumor has it that a surprise team is eyeing Ian Cunningham for their vacant general manager position.

Cunningham, currently the assistant general manager of the Boston Celtics, has been making waves in the league with his astute player evaluations and savvy front office moves. It comes as no surprise that other teams are taking notice of his talents.

While the team in question has not been revealed, sources close to the situation indicate that they are impressed with Cunningham’s track record and believe he could be the missing piece to help turn their franchise around.

Stay tuned as more details emerge on this unexpected twist in the NBA offseason saga. Could Ian Cunningham be the next GM to make a splash in the league? Only time will tell.

  • Chicago Bears Eyeing College Legend For Offensive Coordinator

Throughout the past 24 hours, every name that has surfaced for the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator job fit the same criteria: young, ascending, and primarily known for coaching quarterbacks. This isn’t a surprise. Ben Johnson will be the one calling plays. It makes sense that he would want somebody young, energetic, and driven to stay on top of things whenever he can’t put his focus on that side of the ball. However, things took a drastic shift on Saturday when Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune revealed they are also talking to David Shaw about the opening.

This is a massive shift in type. Shaw is a college coaching legend, having won 96 games in 11 seasons at Stanford, along with two Rose Bowl victories. He was a vital component of the program, recruiting and developing future superstar Andrew Luck. Before that, he had an extensive run as an NFL assistant in Oakland and Baltimore. Rich Gannon evolved into an MVP with the Raiders under his guidance. Shaw has also coached tight ends and wide receivers. There are so many assets he would bring to the organization.

The Chicago Bears’ interest in Shaw is well-justified.

For one, he has extensive head coaching experience. That would be a huge benefit to a first-time head coach like Johnson, who may not be aware of some of the challenges ahead. For another, Shaw knows how to identify and develop talent from his decade-long run at Stanford. He was instrumental in sending guys like Zach Ertz, Andrus Peat, Christian McCaffrey, and Justin Reid to the NFL, among many others. His sharp eye for good players would be a big help, to say nothing of his ability to organize.

More than anything, it is his leadership that people rave about the most. Shaw is universally respected as a genuine leader of men. It was why the Chicago Bears already interviewed him for the head coaching job earlier this month. The fact they’re bringing him back for the offensive coordinator job tells you how well that meeting probably went. He is available, too. At present, he merely serves as an executive in Denver. If the Bears want to hire him, there are no hoops to jump through. This one would be hard to beat.

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

The Chicago Bears are reportedly eyeing college football legend Lincoln Riley as a potential candidate for their offensive coordinator position. Riley, who currently serves as the head coach for the Oklahoma Sooners, has been lauded for his innovative offensive schemes and ability to develop quarterbacks.

With the Bears in need of a spark on offense, Riley could be the perfect fit to revitalize their struggling unit. His track record of success at the college level, including three consecutive Big 12 championships, makes him an attractive option for an NFL team looking to shake things up.

While Riley has not expressed any interest in leaving Oklahoma, the Bears are said to be exploring all options in their search for a new offensive coordinator. If they are able to lure Riley away from the college ranks, it could be a game-changer for the Chicago offense.

Stay tuned as the Bears continue their search for a new offensive coordinator, and keep an eye on Lincoln Riley as a potential candidate to lead the charge in Chicago.

  • MLB rumors: Cubs pursuing Ryan Pressly, Blue Jays eyeing Pete Alonso, Dodgers still want Clayton Kershaw

In less than a month, spring training camps will open across Arizona and Florida. There are still plenty of free agents waiting to sign and trade candidates waiting to move. There will be no shortage of activity between now and the start of camp. Here now are Thursday’s hot stove happenings.

    Cubs checking in on Pressly

Astros setup man and former closer Ryan Pressly is one year away from free agency and has been said to be on the trade block this offseason. Teams have “checked in” on his availability, according to The Athletic. Further reporting from The Athletic indicates that the Cubs have “emerged as a serious suitor” for Pressly. The two teams would have to finalize a deal and then Pressly would need to waive his no-trade clause in order for a deal to come to fruition, but for now it sounds like a real possibility he’s dealt there.

Pressly was closer for the Astros from 2021-23 and recorded the final out of the World Series in 2022, but he was removed from the role last season in favor of free agent signee Josh Hader

Talks heating up between Alonso, Blue Jays

Talks between free agent first baseman Pete Alonso and the Blue Jays are “advancing,” reports SNY. A deal is not done and there is no guarantee it gets done, but talking is something. Toronto landed Anthony Santander earlier this week and can put him in the outfield full-time, with Alonso and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sharing first base and DH duty. We ranked Alonso as the 11th-best free agent this winter.

The Mets, Alonso’s longtime team, reportedly offered him a three-year contract worth between $68 million and $70 million earlier this month. Alonso was said to have offered a short-term deal to the Mets and only the Mets, so it’s possible a contract with the Blue Jays would be a long-term agreement. Toronto has had a hard time getting players to take their money the last two years.

    Astros remain engaged with Bregman

Surprisingly, the Astros have not closed the door on an Alex Bregman reunion, reports USA Today. They are not optimistic it will happen, however, and Bregman reportedly has two offers from unknown teams. Re-signing Bregman could push Isaac Paredes to second base and Jose Altuve out to left field. We ranked Bregman as the third-best free agent available this winter.

Houston reportedly offered Bregman six years and $156 million earlier this offseason. When that was declined, they pivoted to Paredes and Christian Walker, who are set to play third and first bases, respectively. According to Cot’s Baseball Contracts, the Astros have a $243 million payroll for competitive balance tax purposes, down comfortably from $264.8 million last year.

    Dodgers remain interested in Kershaw

Even after signing Roki Sasaki and Blake Snell, the Dodgers have interest in re-signing Clayton Kershaw, GM Brandon Gomes said Wednesday (via the Orange County Register). Kershaw had toe and knee surgery in November and is not yet throwing off a mound. Gomes indicated the Dodgers will look to re-sign him once he’s completed his rehab and ready to pitch in MLB games.

The Dodgers have enviable rotation depth, though Tyler Glasnow (elbow) and Yoshinobu Yamamoto (shoulder) missed extended time with injuries last year, and Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May, and Shohei Ohtani did not pitch at all in 2024 as they rehabbed from elbow surgery. Kershaw is a franchise icon and there’s no such thing as too much pitching, especially for a World Series contender.

    Reds pursuing Estévez

The Reds are in talks with righty Carlos Estévez, according to USA Today. The Blue Jays and Cubs were said to be in the mix for the free-agent reliever earlier this week. José Leclerc (Athletics), A.J. Minter (Mets), Tanner Scott (Dodgers), and Paul Sewald (Guardians) have all agreed to deals within the last week. The reliever market is beginning to pick up.

Cincinnati already has a pretty good closer in Alexis Díaz, though there is no such thing as too many good relievers, and the bullpen was a sore spot in 2024. With three wild-card spots per league, you don’t have to try too hard to see the Reds making a run at a postseason berth this season. We ranked Estévez as the 34th-best free agent available this winter.

    Padres, Twins talking Vázquez trade

The Padres and Twins discussed a trade involving catcher Christian Vázquez earlier this offseason, reports The Athletic. A deal is not imminent, though the two sides are said to be motivated to continue talks. It appears the biggest hurdle is how much money Minnesota will eat to facilitate the trade. Vázquez is owed $10 million in 2025, the final year of his contract.

San Diego lost Kyle Higashioka to free agency and, at minimum, need a veteran backup for Luis Campusano. Vázquez has lost his starting job with the Twins to Ryan Jeffers, and Minnesota can slot Jair Camargo in as the backup catcher. For them, trading Vázquez would be a pure salary dump. The Padres, however, are said to be approaching or up against their payroll limit.

    Matzek will have showcase Thursday

Free-agent lefty Tyler Matzek, who starred for the Braves in the 2021 postseason, will throw a showcase for interested teams in California on Thursday, reports MLB.com. Matzek, 34, returned from Tommy John surgery early last season, then was shut down with elbow inflammation in May and did not pitch the rest of the year. He’s healthy now and ready to show teams he can contribute in 2025. If the showcase goes well, a minor-league contract with a contender is likely in the cards.

In the latest MLB rumors, the Chicago Cubs are reportedly pursuing Houston Astros reliever Ryan Pressly in an effort to bolster their bullpen. Pressly, who has been one of the most dominant relievers in the league, would provide a much-needed boost to the Cubs’ pitching staff.

On the other hand, the Toronto Blue Jays are said to be eyeing New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso as a potential trade target. Alonso, who burst onto the scene as a rookie with a record-breaking season in 2019, could provide a powerful presence in the middle of the Blue Jays’ lineup.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers are still interested in bringing back longtime ace Clayton Kershaw. Despite ongoing discussions, Kershaw has yet to commit to a new contract with the Dodgers, leaving the door open for other teams to potentially swoop in and sign the future Hall of Famer.

As the MLB offseason heats up, stay tuned for more updates on these and other rumors swirling around the league.

Colorado Avalanche Game Preview: Eyeing seven in a row against the Montreal Canadiens

Touchdowns for the Denver Broncos this weekend aren’t the only things on the line in Colorado. Tonight, the Colorado Avalanche face off against the Montreal Canadiens looking for seven wins in a row.

Colorado is on a great streak at the moment, aside from the seven straight wins. They’ll look to continue their current run of form for the kids tonight in their annual “Next Gen Night.”

    Colorado Avalanche

Drama ensued in the Avs’ last game, which they came back to win 6-5 in overtime over the Buffalo Sabres. They battled through everything on Thursday night, from refereeing decisions to injured goaltenders to to a hat trick from Jason Zucker, all while being down 3-0 and then 5-3 in the final two minutes.

All eyes will turn to Mackenzie Blackwood, who will now be heavily relied on. Scott Wedgewood’s lower-body injury will make him “miss some time,” according to Jared Bednar. He will get the bulk of games going forward, while Trent Miner will be called upon when needed.

If the forwards and defensemen continue to produce as they have, then it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Cale Makar racked up two points last game, and Nathan MacKinnon will look to ride high off his first Star of the Month honors in December.

    Projected Lines

    Artturi Lehkonen (62) – Nathan MacKinnon (29) – Mikko Rantanen (96)
    Ross Colton (20) – Casey Mittelstadt (37) – Jonathan Drouin (27)
    Joel Kiviranta (94) – Parker Kelly (17) – Logan O’Connor (25)
    Oskar Olausson (24) – Juuso Parssinen (16) – Jere Innala (22)

    Devon Toews (7) – Cale Makar (8)
    Sam Girard (49) – Josh Manson (42)
    Keaton Middleton (67) – Sam Malinski (70)

    Montreal Canadiens

Montreal has trouble ahead, as this matchup with the Avalanche is the second leg of a back-to-back. Last night, they played against the Chicago Blackhawks, and they lost 4-2 to the hosts.

It snapped what was a three-game win streak for Martin St. Louis men, still learning and growing while sitting toward the bottom half of the Atlantic Division. The new star man in town has been Patrik Laine, who recently returned from a preseason injury with eight goals and two assists in 13 games.

However, he was scratched last game alongside David Savard for flu-like symptoms and an upper-body injury. Hence, can Cole Caufield and former Av Alex Newhook help steer the Canadiens back into the win column?

    Projected Lines

    Cole Caufield (13) – Nick Suzuki (14) – Juraj Slafkovsky (20)
    Alex Newhook (15) – Kirby Dach (77) – Michael Pezzetta (55)
    Josh Anderson (17) – Christian Dvorak (28) – Brendan Gallagher (11)
    Emil Heineman (51) – Jake Evans (71) – Joel Armia (40)

    Lane Hutson (48) – Mike Matheson (8)
    Kaiden Guhle (21) – Alexandre Carrier (45)
    Arber Xhekaj (72) – Jayden Struble (47)

    Goaltenders

The aforementioned Blackwood will get the nod for the Avs. With Sam Montembault playing last night in Chicago, expect Jakub Dobes to get the start for the Habs.

The Colorado Avalanche are on fire, winning six games in a row and looking to make it seven as they face off against the Montreal Canadiens tonight. The team has been dominant on both ends of the ice, with their offense clicking and their defense shutting down opponents.

Tonight’s game against the Canadiens will be a tough test for the Avalanche, as Montreal is a strong team with plenty of firepower. However, the Avalanche have been playing with confidence and determination, and they will be looking to continue their winning streak.

Key players to watch for the Avalanche include Nathan MacKinnon, who has been on a tear recently, as well as goalie Philipp Grubauer, who has been solid between the pipes. The Avalanche will need strong performances from both of these players if they want to come out on top against the Canadiens.

Overall, this game promises to be an exciting matchup between two talented teams. The Avalanche will be looking to extend their winning streak to seven games, while the Canadiens will be looking to play spoiler. It’s sure to be a thrilling game, so be sure to tune in and cheer on the Avalanche as they aim for another victory. Go Avs go!
