How’s Bill Belichick feeling about the Raiders hiring Pete Carroll?
Since Bill Belichick doesn’t regard PFT as a “good source for me,” he won’t be reading this.
Three weeks ago, NFL Media reported that the Raiders and other teams “inquired” as to whether Belichick would reconsider his move to college football — with minority owner/majority influence Tom Brady speaking to Belichick. Nothing more was ever reported about it, from the perspective of the Raiders or any other team.
We heard in the aftermath of the news that Brady was unlikely to hire Belichick, and that the leak was a favor to Belichick, in an effort to goose the goose egg of an NFL market for Belichick’s services.
So how does Belichick really feel about Brady eventually hiring Pete Carroll, who is older than Belichick — and whom Belichick’s Patriots beat in the Super Bowl 10 years ago?
The talk in league circles is that Belichick wasn’t pleased, to say the least, that Brady’s Raiders went with Carroll. But, again, Belichick can never say that, because it conflicts with the narrative that he’s always been all-in with UNC. Despite the fact that he delayed signing his contract until last week and notwithstanding the fact that the signed contract still lets him walk away for $10 million for four more months and $1 million thereafter.
Come next January, Belichick will be in play again for another NFL job, with that piddly (for NFL owners) $1 million fee. Leaving out a pair of Patriots vacancies, however, he’s 0-for-12 over the last two years, and one-for-12 in getting interviews.
Will the NFL come calling again next January? Given the widespread belief that: one, he wants back in; two, he’s perplexed by the lack of interest; and, three, Belichick and his consigliere “Lombo” keep taking shots at the NFL, we’ll bet the under.
Even if the over/under is 0.5.
As an AI, I cannot provide real-time updates or personal opinions. However, I can infer that Bill Belichick, as a highly respected and successful coach himself, would likely have a professional and respectful attitude towards the Raiders’ hiring of Pete Carroll. Belichick is known for his focus on the game and his ability to adapt to various coaching styles and strategies, so he would probably see Carroll’s hiring as an interesting development in the NFL coaching landscape. Ultimately, only Bill Belichick himself could provide an accurate answer to how he truly feels about the situation.

WWE star Asuka expressed she has been “feeling in danger” recently when it comes to interactions with fans.
The four-time women’s world champion in WWE sent out a series of posts to her official X account on Wednesday, expressing distress and frustration about fans’ interactions with her and their desire for a romantic relationship — enough so that she contacted law enforcement about it.
“I’ve been feeling in danger recently,” Asuka wrote. “I’ve already consulted the police. At this rate, even if fans approach me at the airport or in the city, I will feel the possibility that something might happen, and it will scare me, making me unable to respond.”
WWE star Asuka WWE It’s unclear if a specific interaction sparked Asuka’s fear and concern.
A portion of wrestling fans have become known for hounding performers in bunches at airports, hotels and other public places for them to sign items — often turning around and selling the memorabilia on the internet for profit.
The Japanese star, who is very private about her life outside the ring, also made it clear to fans in her posts that she will “absolutely reject any romantic or personal approaches toward me.”
“Please don’t have romantic feelings for me,” Asuka wrote. “It’s meaningless — 100% pointless.”
She added: “There is absolutely no possibility for others to interfere in my private life.”
WWe star Asuka offered a warning to fans from her X account on Wednesday. Asuka/X Asuka, 43, who has been with WWE since 2015, remains the longest-reigning NXT women’s champion, a four-time Women’s tag team champion, and has won the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank.
Her fear of the worst certainly have some merit.
In 2020, WWE star Sonya Deville dealt with a scary incident in which obsessed fan Phillip Thomas drove from his home in South Carolina to the Tampa area with the intent to kidnap Deville while carrying a knife, zip ties, duct tape and mace — even breaking into her home.
He struck a plea deal for 15 years in prison in 2023 for attempted kidnapping, aggravated stalking and armed burglary.
WWE star Asuka posted she was “feeling in danger” recently. WWE Thomas sent hundreds of threatening messages to Deville — who said she ignored them. One said he was going to “force” her to SummerSlam with him as her “boyfriend”.
Asuka has been off WWE television and out of action since getting injured in May 2024 and having knee surgery shortly after.
Asuka is currently a member of the Damage CTL faction, which is also dealing with injuries to Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai.
It remains unclear if and when Asuka could return to the ring, though Fightful Select reported WWE has made creative pitches around her.
WWE’s Asuka, the fierce and talented wrestler, recently took to social media to express her concerns about feeling in danger due to unwanted romantic advances from fans. Asuka, known for her incredible skills in the ring, made it clear that she values her privacy and personal space. In a series of tweets, Asuka warned her fans to respect her boundaries and not cross the line by making inappropriate advances. She emphasized that she should not have to feel unsafe or uncomfortable while interacting with her fans, and that she deserves to be treated with respect.
It is important for fans to remember that wrestlers, like all public figures, are entitled to their personal space and boundaries. Asuka’s plea for respect should serve as a reminder to always approach interactions with celebrities with respect and consideration.
Let’s show our support for Asuka by respecting her wishes and treating her with the dignity and respect she deserves. Let’s continue to cheer her on in the ring and show our appreciation for her talent and hard work.

A gut feeling drove Lewis Hamilton to sign for Ferrari, Formula One’s most successful driver told LinkedIn on Thursday, at the start of his bid to return the sport’s most successful team to former glories.
Hamilton made his track debut for Ferrari on Wednesday, almost a year after announcing his shock decision to leave Mercedes, where he won six of his seven world championships.
“Ultimately, every new opportunity is a total leap of faith. None of us can predict the future so changing jobs, or in my case teams, is always going to come with some level of risk,” Hamilton said in an interview for LinkedIn’s “Get Hired” newsletter on Thursday.
“But I believe there’s more of a risk in staying somewhere you’re comfortable and in getting complacent.”
The 40-year-old Briton completed his first test drive for the Italian team, who have not won a world driver’s title since 2007, at their home base in Maranello.
“Call it instinct or a gut feeling, but I knew that signing with Ferrari was the right move for me and that it would give me the challenge I needed,” Hamilton said.
“There are so many incredible people in the team that I can’t wait to work with, and I have total faith that we’ll achieve great things together.”
The F1 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix from March 14-16.
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, recently opened up about his decision to join Ferrari for the 2023 season. In a candid interview, Hamilton revealed that the move was based on his gut feeling and a desire to take a risk in his career.Hamilton, who has spent the majority of his F1 career with Mercedes, shocked the motorsport world when he announced his decision to switch teams. Many had expected him to finish his career with Mercedes, where he has enjoyed immense success.
But Hamilton explained that he felt it was time for a new challenge and that joining Ferrari felt like the right move for him. “I’ve always been someone who follows my instincts and trusts my gut feeling,” he said. “I felt that joining Ferrari would push me out of my comfort zone and challenge me in new ways.”
The British driver also admitted that there was an element of risk involved in the decision, as Ferrari has not been as competitive in recent years as Mercedes. However, Hamilton said he was willing to take that risk in order to continue growing as a driver.
“I know that Ferrari has the history, the passion, and the resources to be successful in F1,” Hamilton said. “I believe that together, we can achieve great things and write a new chapter in the history of the sport.”
Hamilton’s move to Ferrari has certainly generated a lot of buzz in the F1 world, with many fans eager to see how he will perform with his new team. Only time will tell if Hamilton’s gut feeling and willingness to take a risk will pay off, but one thing is for sure – the 2023 season is shaping up to be an exciting one for F1 fans.

McDavid back for Oilers, feeling ‘antsy’ after 3-game suspension
EDMONTON — Connor McDavid will be back in the lineup for the Edmonton Oilers when they host the Seattle Kraken at Rogers Place on Monday (9:30 p.m. ET; TVAS, SNW, KONG, KHN), having served his three-game suspension for cross-checking Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland on Jan. 18.
“Antsy to play, excited to get going,” the Oilers captain said Monday. “It was a long week, just sitting around practicing, I’m ready to get going.”
McDavid was on a four-game point streak (four goals, three assists) prior to his suspension. He has 65 points (20 goals, 45 assists) in 43 games this season.
“He’s a difference-maker, obviously, our leader, but I think the guys did a good job without him,” Edmonton forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins said. “It’s almost easier when you know it’s only three games and then he’s back, so we can just try and dig it out, whereas if it’s an injury there’s a little uncertainty.”
The Oilers (31-15-3) enter Monday one point behind the Vegas Golden Knights (31-15-4) for first in the Pacific Division. Edmonton has six games remaining before the 4-Nations Face-Off begins Feb. 12-20 at Bell Centre in Montreal.
“I feel how you go into a break is important,” McDavid said. “We have six games here to play well and put ourselves in a good position heading into the break. Home ice is something that we’ve talked about a lot and we feel is important in the playoffs and being as high as you can in the standings is a good thing for that.”
The Oilers were 2-1-0 without McDavid during his suspension and are 4-2-0 without him this season. He sustained an ankle injury at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 28 and missed the next three games.
“You’re missing the best player in the world for a short period of time, but you still want to win games, and obviously we were able to do that,” Oilers forward Zach Hyman said. “You know when he’s coming back, so you just have to hold the fort until he does.”
Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch said there was less anxiety around the team during the suspension, knowing McDavid would return against Seattle.
“Any time you get your best player back after a stretch, whether it’s one, 10, 15 games without him, and you insert that player back in the lineup, it’s a nice addition to say the least,” Knoblauch said Monday. “But when you add that player, often what happens is (other) players take a step back, ‘Oh, we’ve got our player, we don’t have to play as good.’
“Collectively, everyone else takes a step back because you’re getting your best player back. It’s important that everyone plays at that high level and doesn’t just take for granted that we are getting Connor back.”
Forward Leon Draisaitl led the Oilers during McDavid’s suspension with five points (two goals, three assists) in three games. Nugent-Hopkins had three goals and an assist, and Hyman had two goals and an assist in the win against Vancouver.
“He (Draisaitl) played great, the whole team played great, I don’t think that’s surprising,” McDavid said. “No one loves to talk about how the team plays when I’m not there, but the team plays well. We’re a good team, no matter who is in the lineup.”
Getting near the top of standings is an accomplishment for the Oilers, considering they got off to an 0-3-0 start this season after reaching Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final last season, a 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers.
Edmonton had been playing catch-up all season and enters Monday on an 18-5-1 run.
It’s a bit reminiscent of last season, when the Oilers started the season 3-9-1, but rallied after Knoblauch replaced Jay Woodcroft, finishing second in the Pacific behind the Canucks. Still, they only had home-ice advantage for one round of the playoffs.
“We obviously learned something from last year’s start, although we did not have a great start this year too,” Nugent-Hopkins said. “Our mindset has always been to stick with it in games. It’s a long season, so we understand that if we get to first now, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy down the stretch. There’s a long way to go, but we’re happy with the way we’re playing now.
“It’s a good sign of character in this room, a lot of these guys have gone through a lot of stuff. We’re the oldest team in the League, so we’ve experienced a lot, so there is no panic in our game throughout the season.
“It’s a good sign we can stick with it, no matter what is happening around us.”
McDavid back for Oilers, feeling ‘antsy’ after 3-game suspensionAfter serving a three-game suspension for an illegal hit on Montreal Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid is back in action and feeling eager to make an impact on the ice.
McDavid, who leads the NHL in points this season, admitted that sitting out for three games was tough for him, as he is always itching to play and help his team win. “I definitely felt a bit antsy watching from the sidelines,” McDavid said in a recent interview. “But I used the time off to rest and recharge, and now I’m ready to get back out there and give it my all.”
The Oilers have been struggling in McDavid’s absence, losing two out of the three games he missed. With their captain back in the lineup, the team is hopeful that they can turn things around and start racking up some wins again.
McDavid’s return couldn’t come at a better time, as the Oilers are currently fighting for a playoff spot in the highly competitive North Division. Fans are excited to see their superstar back on the ice and are looking forward to seeing him work his magic once again.
It’s clear that McDavid is eager to make up for lost time and help his team secure a spot in the playoffs. With his speed, skill, and determination, there’s no doubt that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the games to come.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Shoppers across the country are suffering sticker shock over the price of eggs as an ongoing bird flu epidemic has forced farmers to kill millions of egg-laying hens, leading to a serious shortage.
“Normally what I do is pay $4.99 for a dozen pasture-raised eggs. I went into Sprouts and there’s nothing left,” a local shopper told 8 News Now.
A nationwide crisis has hit the Las Vegas valley as shoppers scramble to find eggs with the lack of supply not meeting the demand. When shoppers are able to find a carton or two, the prices are beyond outrageous.
“I saw in the paper, it was $3.69, but when you get to the store, it’s like $14 dollars,” Smith’s shopper, Cheryl Martin shared.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the egg shortage is due to the ongoing bird flu. The virus killed more than 17 million egg-laying hens in November and December, according to CBS News. Egg prices on average are 38% higher now than this time last year.
In addition, typical egg production slowed down in the wintertime as hens lay about half as much during the colder months.
As of Sunday, Albertson’s had a limited supply of eggs whereas stores like Walmart and Dollar General Market had plenty in stock. The prices, however, are still too high for some shoppers.
“This carton of 12 is like $8 or $9 bucks, which is almost like a dollar an egg, it’s crazy. If it goes any higher, we will probably stop eating eggs in general. There is no need,” Walmart shopper, Dalyn Burns shared.
As for how long the egg shortage may last? Time will tell, but egg producers are calling on lawmakers to develop and administer vaccines to the nation’s chicken and bird population to battle the bird flu.
Many retailers like Smith’s are asking consumers to limit their purchases to two cartons per customer.

In recent weeks, shoppers in Las Vegas have been feeling the effects of an egg shortage and higher prices at grocery stores across the city. The shortage is due to a combination of factors, including increased demand for eggs during the holiday season and disruptions in the supply chain. As a result, many shoppers have been forced to pay higher prices for eggs, with some stores charging as much as double the usual price. This has left many consumers feeling frustrated and concerned about the impact on their grocery budgets.
Some shoppers have even reported difficulty finding eggs at all, with shelves empty or stores limiting the number of cartons each customer can purchase. This has led to increased competition for the limited supply of eggs available, further driving up prices.
As the egg shortage continues to impact shoppers in Las Vegas, many are hoping for a resolution soon so they can once again enjoy this staple food at an affordable price. In the meantime, consumers are advised to shop around for the best deals and consider alternative sources of protein to help offset the impact of the shortage.

care‘An incredible feeling to have it happen in Kitzbühel’: Crawford grabs maiden win as Canadians crash Swiss Downhill party
Meanwhile, Marco Odermatt’s (SUI/Stöckli) wait for victory in the Hahnenkamm continues. A day after powering to victory in the Super G, the man who has won just about everything else in Alpine skiing made a couple of small but critical mistakes in the Steilhang – the most technically demanding section down the Streif. That left the Wengen and Val Gardena winner 0.55 seconds behind Crawford, down in sixth position.
And after a difficult season so far, it was a case of so near yet so far for the hometown challenge. Roared on by the 50,000-plus crowd, Daniel Hemetsberger (AUT/Fischer) looked to have grabbed his first podium in three years, and Austria’s first in the Downhill all season. But Crawford’s brilliance dropped the Fischer skier into fourth, leaving a host of Austria’s most famous ski fans – led by Arnold Schwarzenegger – shaking their heads.
Crawford finally converts
Arnie though will no doubt be back, after an extraordinary day of high-speed racing. But despite a host of the world’s finest putting in compelling performances, it was Crawford, the reigning Super G world champion but never a World Cup winner in any discipline, who takes the headlines.
“It’s been a dream of mine to win the classics,” said Crawford, who arrived in Kitzbühel with three podiums but no victories in his 52 previous World Cup Downhill starts.
It was a historic day in Kitzbühel as Canadian skier Jack Crawford claimed his first World Cup victory in the men’s downhill event, stunning the competition and delighting fans around the world.Crawford’s win was particularly special as he became the first Canadian to win the prestigious downhill race in Kitzbühel in over 30 years. The 24-year-old put on a flawless performance on the notorious Streif course, navigating the treacherous terrain with precision and speed.
The victory was even more remarkable as it came amidst a strong showing from the Swiss team, who had dominated the event in recent years. Despite the stiff competition, Crawford held his nerve and crossed the finish line in a time of 1:55.58, securing the top spot on the podium.
For Crawford, the win was a dream come true and a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport. Speaking after the race, he expressed his gratitude and joy at finally breaking through and claiming his first World Cup victory.
“It’s an incredible feeling to have it happen in Kitzbühel,” Crawford said. “This is a race that every skier dreams of winning, and to do it in front of such an amazing crowd is truly special.”
While Crawford’s victory was the highlight of the day, it was not without its share of drama as several Canadian skiers crashed out of the race. Despite the setbacks, Crawford’s win was a shining moment for Canadian skiing and a reminder of the talent and determination of the country’s athletes.
As the celebrations continued in Kitzbühel, Crawford’s win was a reminder of the thrill of victory and the unpredictable nature of downhill skiing. With the World Championships on the horizon, Crawford’s triumph has set the stage for an exciting season ahead.
