  • Milan have agreement in principle with Feyenoord striker Gimenez – Football Italia

    Milan reportedly have an agreement in principle on personal terms with Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez, but the Rossoneri still need to agree on a fee with the Eredivisie side according to Wednesday’s reports in Italy. 

    As well as the expected arrival of Kyle Walker from Manchester City, the Rossoneri have also been attempting to add another attacking option to Sergio Conceicao’s ranks in the January transfer window. 

    There had been links with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, Chelsea’s Joao Felix and Borussia Dortmund’s Gio Reyna, but La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Milan are now closing in on a deal with Feyenoord for Gimenez instead. 

    The Pink Paper suggests that there is already an agreement in principle on financial terms with the striker himself, and now it is down to the club’s directors to get the final approval from Feyenoord.

    Gimenez reportedly earns a wage of less than €1m per season in the Eredivisie, which will be increased several times over if he is to join Milan in January.

    Milan had also been linked with a move for the Mexico international in the summer, but were not able to get a deal over the line with Feyenoord reportedly requesting a fee of around €40m. 

    As Feyenoord want to keep hold of Gimenez at least until the summer, they are expected to request a similar fee to sell him in January, but La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Milan are still hoping to negotiate a discount. 

    Though he has represented Mexico on 32 occasions, Gimenez is also an Italian passport holder, which means that he will not take up a precious non-EU slot in Milan’s roster.

    According to reports from Football Italia, AC Milan have reached an agreement in principle with Feyenoord striker Gimenez. The Italian giants are said to be keen on bolstering their attacking options and see the Uruguayan forward as a perfect fit for their squad.

  • Reports: Feyenoord star ‘says yes’ to Milan


    There are growing reports suggesting that Santiago Gimenez is pushing for a move to AC Milan as soon as the January transfer window.

    Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Gimenez wants to move to Milan this month and his entourage are working to make the dream come true. There has even been a verbal agreement reached over personal terms, which was described as ‘easy’ to achieve.

    It will be more complicated to convince Feyenoord to sell their striker in the current winter transfer window. Their directors, who have already said no to Juventus for David Hancko, intend to hold on to the Mexico international at least until the summer.

    However, in the next few hours the agent who officially represents Santiago – Rafaela Pimenta – and the footballer’s father Christian (who also manages his son’s career) will tell them that the forward wishes to join the Rossoneri.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada wanted Gimenez as Alvaro Morata’s attacking partner last summer. Feyenoord’s high request (over €40m) saw them turn back to Tammy Abraham and close the loan swap with Roma involving Alexis Saelemaekers.

    Gimenez – who has an Italian passport – remained at the top of the Rossoneri’s wish list. Whether Milan will break through the wall erected by the Dutch club to prevent their striker from leaving remains to be seen, with the Milan management ready to contact Feyenoord after his agents.

    There is no possibility of closing a loan with option to buy, at best a loan with obligation. The figure must be worked on, perhaps tying a portion of the sum to the results obtained by the team’s results, such as qualifying for the Champions League and trophies won in the next few seasons.

    The €40m that Feyenoord are asking for is deemed too much and there is the intention to negotiate. It is possible that the sale of Strahinja Pavlovic to Fenerbahçe could help bring forward the investment (on the attack) planned for 2025-26.

    Meanwhile, Sky are also stating that Milan want to give Sergio Conceicao a striker. After abandoning the Marcus Rashford option and sounding out Chelsea for Joao Felix (the Blues are not open to a loan), the Rossoneri are looking at the Eredivisie.




     

    Gimenez  is the first name on the list and in the last few hours there have been contacts with the entourage of the 23-year-old centre-forward, who has scored 13 goals in 17 games in all competitions with the Rotterdam club this year.

    Today, Wednesday 22 January, could be an important day to understand the real feasibility of the operation. The option of Sevilla’s Dodi Lukebakio – a Belgian player with different characteristics to Gimenez (he is more of a winger) – remains alive.

    Finally, Calciomercato.com state that contacts between Milan and Gimenez have been ongoing for months now and the closeness between the parties remains strong. However, Feyenoord are not currently open to an immediate sale, but would set up an operation for the summer.

    The second obstacle is that Milan is thinking first about raising funds and then coming forward with a significant offer to present to the Eredivisie club. The deals involving Emerson Royal, Pavlovic, Luka Jovic and even Noah Okafor could increase the propensity to do so.



    Reports have emerged that Feyenoord star, Orkun Kokcu, has reportedly ‘said yes’ to a potential move to Italian giants AC Milan. The 20-year-old midfielder has been catching the eye of several top European clubs with his impressive performances in the Eredivisie.

    According to sources, Milan have been monitoring Kokcu for some time now and are keen to bring him to the San Siro in the upcoming transfer window. The player is said to be excited about the prospect of playing for such a historic club and is open to the idea of a move to Serie A.

    Bayern Munich are aware of the ferocious welcome they will receive from Feyenoord’s famous fans in Wednesday’s Champions League game, but still believe they can leave De Kuip with three points.

    “We have a very experienced team. This is a special away game. As ever, we want to win and put in a performance,” coach Vincent Kompany told a news conference on Tuesday. “I think the atmosphere will motivate us.”

    Bayern are looking to lift themselves into the top eight, who qualify automatically for the last 16 without a play-off.

    “I don’t look at the table. I’ve enjoyed this new format. There’s no point looking at the table. If you win six games, you’re in the top eight. Anything else is hard to predict, but my aim is to make sure we win six games.”

    Bayern have won four so far and have a home game next Wednesday against eliminated Slovan Bratislava when the league phase wraps up.

    Jamal Musiala, whom Bayern hope will sign a new contract soon, said they would not underestimate the Dutch side.

    “We’ve had meetings about Feyenoord already. They’re good on the counter and have talent and quality. They want to play football and they can make things happen with the ball. We’re approaching it like every game – all of us will work hard,” Musiala said.

    “A few buddies of mine who have played here before have said that it’ll be very loud here. But we look forward to that.”

    Feyenoord coach Brian Priske earlier told a news conference: “It’s a difficult phase but it’s another opportunity to get a result. I love Feyenoord and I love playing against top clubs. It’s nice for me to be here, where so many expectations are placed on me.”

    Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala understands his team’s tenuous position in the Champions League table. Given that, the young attacker knows that full focus will be required to get three points on the road against Feyenoord.

    “We’ll not underestimate Feyenoord and I hope we win tomorrow. A few of my friends who have played here have already said that it will be very loud. But we are looking forward to the game,” said Musiala (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I’m not good with names [ of players], but we’ve already had the meeting to analyze them. They’re good at counters and have talent and quality. We will not underestimate them. They want to play football and they have quality. They can do a lot with the ball. We’ll approach it like any other game, each of us will work hard.”

    Musiala had been dealing with an extended illness, but after a couple of substitute appearances, appears ready to make the start in Amsterdam. Per the youngster, he is back at full strength.

    “I feel fresh and better. I got back slowly in the last two games. I now have energy and feel fresh. The coach will decide how many minutes I get,” said Musiala.

    Jamal Musiala picked up a lingering illness over winter break that has limited him to 26 minutes in Bayern Munich’s first three matches of 2025. He should be able to put in a solid shift around 45-60 minutes and hopefully add a goal or assist to show that he is back in full form.

    The big surprise of the lineup is Kingsley Coman earning the nod over Leroy Sané. Sané scored a brace against Hoffenheim and assisted Michael Olise in the Wolfsburg win. On the other hand, Coman has failed to record a goal or assist, or play a full match in 10 consecutive outings.

    Bayern Munich and Feyenoord haven’t met since 2001 so it’s safe to say this is not much of a rivalry game. Bayern’s stale attack has stepped on the gas pedal in 2025 and Feyenoord’s leaky defense won’t be the squad to provide the blueprint to slow them down.

    Jamal Musiala is expected back in the starting lineup, making the Champions League clash an opportunity for Vincent Kompany to trot out this preferred starting XI for the first time since the winter break.

    Odds: Bayern (-230), Draw (+375), Feyenoord (+550), Over/Under 3.5 goals

    Prediction: Bayern wins 5-1. Back to full strength, Bayern takes an early lead thanks to Harry Kane’s first non-penalty kick goal since the Augsburg match. Ten minutes later, Michael Olise and Konrad Laimer drop some next level one-touch passing up the right flank and find Kane for a tap-in on the back post. Jamal Musiala will open the second half with a scrappy goal, Leroy Sané will continue his scoring streak, and Kane will complete his hat trick. After the subs are made, Feyenoord will find the back of the net in the 85th minute.
