Folks in Chapel Hill who have been nervous about Bill Belichick bolting for the NFL before he even coaches a single game have one less reason to be anxious.
Belichick has finally taken the one overt act that makes his employment official — he has signed his contract.
But the buyout remains. He can walk away before June 1 for $10 million. After June 1, it drops to $1 million.
If he really wanted to make a clear commitment, that could have been easily revised. How about no buyout until after the 2025 season? How about $10 million thereafter?
Actions always speak louder than words. Signing the contract sends a message. But the content of the message is that he can still jump to the NFL, as long as someone writes a $10 million check to the Tar Heels.
None of it means he will. But the door remains ajar. The fact that no NFL team has shown interest in him is the biggest impediment.
The dynamics changed on Wednesday, when the Jaguars fired G.M. Trent Baalke. There’s one spot where Belichick could be given the keys to the entire operation.
It can still happen, in theory. As long as the man with a $360 million yacht would pay 1/36th that amount to get him, if he wants him.
After weeks of speculation and negotiations, Bill Belichick has officially signed his contract with the University of North Carolina — but there’s a catch. The buyout clause remains unchanged, leaving many fans wondering if the legendary coach is truly committed to the Tar Heels.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future with the team, Belichick remains focused on the upcoming season and is determined to lead UNC to victory. With his unparalleled coaching experience and strategic prowess, there’s no doubt that he will make a significant impact on the program.
As the season approaches, all eyes will be on Belichick and the Tar Heels as they strive for success on the field. Only time will tell if this unexpected turn of events will ultimately benefit the team or hinder their chances of success. Stay tuned for more updates as the story unfolds.

The saga of Elon Musk secretly account boosting Diablo 4 and/or Path of Exile 2 characters may be over, as he’s admitted outright he’s done so, along with possibly using Real Money Trading for gear.
In a new video going over DMs with Elon Musk directly, YouTuber NikoWrex said he was given permission to share what he said about his gaming prowess, or lack thereof. The video, heavily downvoted for its subservience regarding Elon’s tactics, goes over the following:
Niko: “Have you ever level boosted (had someone else play your accounts) and/or purchased gear/resources for PoE2 and Diablo 4?”.
Musk: “(100 Emoji) It’s impossible to beat players in Asia if you don’t.”
Niko: “Regarding Poe2, was it your intention to take full credit for leveling your HC (hardcore) characters?”
Musk: “No, never claimed that. The top accounts in Diablo or PoE require multiple people playing the account to win a leveling race.”
Musk goes on to say on his streams that he is at least the one playing, though admits that with say, a Monk as strong as his was, high level gameplay is like “Cookie Clicker” (with a similar Monk, I can attest to that). He’s also asked if he would “apologize to the Poe2 community”, to which he answers “What would I be apologizing for?”
Path of Exile 2

So I mean, this confirms what we essentially already knew, given that it was close to impossible to get his characters and rank that high without someone boosting him or purchasing top gear. He says everyone does it and that he wasn’t trying to take credit, but he’s clearly positioned himself as projecting that he’s one of the top gamers in the world with these characters.
It’s just been a strange situation that one of the most powerful people in the world cares enough about acting like a top-ranked gamer to pay for boosting and gear and show those characters off to millions on stream. When asked if he’d do a stream with actual top PoE2 creators, he said that he’d be busy preparing for the presidential transition, emphasizing how bizarre this all is.
Will I stop covering Elon Musk’s gaming habits from here? At least until something else absurd happens, as yes, I do think it’s relevant to the industry that one of the most powerful people in the world is a gamer and apparently lying or misleading people about his prowess. My guess is more weird situations like this will follow, no matter if he’s supposed to be busy with co-governing the US with Trump or not.
Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, has finally come clean about his questionable gaming habits. In a recent exchange of direct messages on Twitter, Musk admitted to engaging in account boosting for the highly popular online game “Path of Exile 2.”
For those unfamiliar with the term, account boosting involves paying someone to play on your behalf in order to improve your in-game stats and progress. It is a controversial practice that is often frowned upon by both game developers and the gaming community at large.
Musk’s confession has sparked outrage among gamers, many of whom view him as a role model and inspiration. Some have called for consequences to be handed down, while others have defended him, citing the pressures of his high-profile lifestyle.
Regardless of where you stand on the issue, one thing is clear: even the richest and most powerful among us are not immune to the temptations of cheating in the world of gaming. Musk’s admission serves as a stark reminder that integrity and fair play should always be valued, no matter how successful you may be.
One of the more intriguing projects set to release this year is Mickey 17, the upcoming space sci-fi thriller starring Robert Pattinson that comes from Bong Joon-ho. Joon-ho most recently directed Parasite, the 2019 smash hit psychological thriller that became the first foreign language film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards. It’s no secret that Mickey 17 has had a rough go of things for the last few years; the film has since switched release dates four times, originally slated to drop on March 29, 2024. Now confirmed for release on March 7 later this year, a new report from Deadline has provided a peek behind the curtain at exactly what has been going on with Mickey 17, and why it’s taken so long to make it to the big screen.
Deadline reports that the film was finished in January 2023, roughly two years ago, but that Joon-ho and Warner Bros. have been exchanging ideas about what should and shouldn’t go in the final cut, which the director ultimately gets the final say on. The studio has reportedly not been blown away by the reception for the first two trailers for Mickey 17, which have paled in comparison to the trailers for Superman and Minecraft in an audience-interest-gauging metric. Warner Bros. has sunk $80 million into the making of Mickey 17, which also stars Oscar-nominees Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, and Steven Yeun, meaning it will need close to $200 million to break even. Joon-ho is a tough director to analyze via box office performance, with hits like Parasite at $262 million being scattered in with straight-to-streaming releases like Okja, but Warner Bros. remains hopeful that Mickey 17 can still be a huge profit at the box office.
The Success of ‘Mickey 17’ Relies on Robert Pattinson
Another interesting tidbit in the new report from Deadline is that part of the reason Mickey 17 has been delayed is to give Pattinson, who has been busy with other projects, time to promote the film without fear of scheduling conflicts. Warner Bros. is reportedly planning to drop one final trailer for Mickey 17 between now and the release date to help build anticipation for the film, which could turn into a major financial disaster if audiences don’t show up to theaters to see the star-studded cast on an epic space adventure. The film follows Mickey (Pattinson), an “expendable” who journeys to a treacherous ice planet to colonize new territory, but every time he dies he is reincarnated to begin his mission anew.
Mickey 17 hits theaters on March 7. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates and coverage of the film and watch Joon-ho’s last Oscar-winning outing, Parasite, on Max.
The highly anticipated film ‘Mickey 17’ has been making headlines for constantly shifting its release dates, leaving fans puzzled and frustrated. However, the mystery behind these changes has finally been revealed.
According to sources close to the production, the delays were caused by unforeseen challenges during filming, such as weather disruptions, casting issues, and post-production complications. These unexpected hurdles forced the filmmakers to continuously push back the release date in order to ensure that the final product met their high standards.
Despite the setbacks, the team behind ‘Mickey 17’ remained dedicated to delivering a top-quality film and refused to rush the process. They are confident that the extra time and effort put into the project will result in a truly exceptional cinematic experience for audiences.
While it may have been a bumpy road to get to this point, fans can now rest assured that ‘Mickey 17’ is on track for a successful release. Stay tuned for further updates and mark your calendars for the new and final release date.
For years, New England Patriots fans have cultivated animosity toward Peyton and Eli Manning. For good reason: as starting quarterbacks for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos as well as the New York Giants, respectively, the two brothers were the Patriots’ main rivals for much of the Brady/Belichick dynasty.
Oh, how the tables have turned. Not only are both long retired, Patriots fans can now actively profit from a Manning brother having success.
How? Let us introduce you to FanDuel’s Kick of Destiny.
Kick of Destiny, explained
Kick of Destiny is a head-to-head kicking competition between the two brothers that will be broadcast live on Fox during the Super Bowl pregame show on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. ET.
Each of the two will attempt a 25-yard field goal. If the first contestant makes the kick, the second will have a chance to tie; likewise, if he misses, the second is kicking for the victory. If no winner is decided after three rounds, the Manning who came closest to the center target in the last round will win on a tiebreaker.
For the last two years, by the way, Rob Gronkowski was attempting the kick. He missed both years.
How to participate
Fans can participate in the Kick of Destiny by making the right pick via the FanDuel Sportsbook app. Those who pick the winner correctly will split an equal share of $10 million in bonus bets to be paid out on Monday after the Super Bowl.
Picks can be made from now until 3 p.m. ET on Super Bowl Sunday. Here is how to participate:
Make a free pick, depending on who you think will win between the Manning brothers.
Possibly end up winning a share of $10 million in bonus bets if you made the correct pick.
For the last few seasons, there was little excitement about the Super Bowl from a Patriots perspective. Now, their fans can at least get a little action — and it’s all due to the freaking Manning brothers.
After years of watching Tom Brady dominate the NFL, Patriots fans can finally turn the tables and profit from a Manning brother having success. With Peyton Manning’s recent success as a team owner and broadcaster, fans can now bask in the glory of a Manning victory and potentially make some extra cash in the process.
Whether it’s betting on Manning’s team to win, buying merchandise with his name on it, or simply enjoying the bragging rights that come with being a fan of a successful player, Patriots fans can finally revel in the success of a Manning brother. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as Peyton Manning continues to make his mark on the football world – and maybe even make a profit while you’re at it.
Suits L.A. can finally solve Suits‘ biggest problem by doing things a little differently. The Suits spinoff comes after Suits received a surprising revival in its popularity after the hit drama began streaming on Netflix. The resurgence came soon after Suits was added to Netflix in 2023, four years after its series finale in 2019. The show’s massive appeal has led to the creation of one of the most anticipated network shows of 2025, Suits L.A.
Since its release in 2011, Suits has been revered as one of the best legal dramas, and now with the premiere of Suits L.A. close by, the flagship series may finally have some tough competition. However, despite Suits‘ popularity, there has always been something slightly off about the show. Now, with the upcoming spinoff, the franchise can finally do a better version of the original Suits.
Suits L.A. Can Be Suits Without Mike’s Unrealistic Secret
Suits L.A. Has A Completely Different Premise
Where Suits focused on the legal duo between Mike and Harvey, Suits L.A. will have a completely different premise and will instead focus on Ted Black as the lead with a featured ensemble cast. In Suits L.A., Ted is a former prosecutor who becomes a defense attorney in criminal and entertainment law. This allows the legal drama to be Suits without its lie. Ted and his team are highly trained lawyers who actually attended law school and have genuine experience practicing law.
Suits LA may not be the first Suits spinoff show, but the new series is avoiding the mistake that killed Pearson after just one season.
As most of the writers on Suits L.A. are the same as the ones who worked on Suits, there is bound to be some overlap in the style of stories and characters that appear on the show. However, since the protagonists of the show are legitimate lawyers, it removes the unrealistic storyline that existed in Suits regarding Mike’s secret. This way, the Suits franchise can finally do a different version of Suits without removing what worked best in the show: the legal drama and character interactions in each scene.
Mike’s Secret & Photographic Memory Never Made Sense In Suits
Mike’s Lie Would Never Work Out In Real Life
Mike’s secret was a major drive for the show’s plot and character arcs, but it never really made any sense. He was a highly intelligent and skilled individual but lacked the necessary credentials to work at a high-end law firm. As a result, the fact that Harvey hired him over well-qualified candidates has always stood out as unrealistic. Suits’ pilot episode seems more like movie magic than anything else.
Suits L.A. is premiering on NBC on February 23, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET.
Giving the characters of Suits L.A. proper credentials means that Suits L.A. can avoid Suits‘ fate of being based on an unrealistic storyline. Mike’s secret made for great dramatic scenes and interesting plots, but its unlikely nature made the show’s premise hard to swallow. Suits remains one of the best legal dramas, but Suits L.A. can finally fix its biggest problem by having the characters of the spinoff stay honest about their credentials.
Suits LA follows Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who now represents influential clients in Los Angeles. As his law firm faces a critical juncture, Ted must navigate the challenges of a role he once disdained, balancing moral dilemmas with the demands of high-stakes legal battles.

The horror genre sees a lot of reboots, revivals and requels, so the fact that we’re getting two surprising franchise titles in 2025 is impressive. First, Final Destination: Bloodlines is the first title in its series in nearly a decade and a half, premiering on May 16th. Then on June 20th, we’ll get 28 Years Later — our first return to this zombie-infested world since 2007.
Videos by ComicBook.com
It’s no surprise to see big franchises leaning on title recognition and nostalgia, but the way it’s done in the horror genre can feel distinct from other blockbusters in some ways. Whether it’s a hard reboot, soft reboot or a belated sequel, horror filmmakers are often praised for respecting their audiences’ intelligence and taking creative approaches to their premises. In the cases of 28 Years Later and Final Destination: Bloodlines, expectations are high in that sense.
Final Destination: Bloodlines
The sixth Final Destination movie brings a new creative team to the franchise — screenwriters Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, and directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. The nature of these movies makes it hard to keep recurring characters around for long, so the only confirmed returning cast member is Tony Todd as William Bludworth. The focus on this mysterious character is the most exciting part of this movie’s premise we’ve heard about so far.
Bludworth appeared in Final Destination, Final Destination 2 and Final Destination 5. He is the owner of Bludworth Funeral Homes, and seems to have supernatural knowledge of the nature of death. He often warns characters about their situations when they narrowly avoid death and begin experiencing premonitions. According to a report by Bloody Disgusting, Bloodlines will explore William Bloodworth’s backstory, including flashbacks to his childhood that will explain his connection to death.
We don’t have a trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines yet, but it has already given us an incredible behind-the-scenes story. Sources close to the project told The Hollywood Reporter that the studio struggled to settle on a director for this revival until Lipovsky and Stein put on an outrageous display in a video call. The two staged and pre-recorded a stunt for the interview to make it look like they were killed in a freak accident — much like the ones that befall characters in these movies. They made it look like the fireplace behind them got out of control, with flames spreading to the mantel. They barely put out the fire, but after that a ceiling fan broke off and fell, appearing to decapitate the two filmmakers.
This passion for the franchise is reportedly what put Lipovsky and Stein over the edge to get the job directing this movie. Hopefully, that familiarity and enthusiasm comes through in the finished product as well. Final Destination: Bloodlines hits theaters on on May 16th.
28 Years Later
Just over a month later, we’ll get the highly anticipated sequel 28 Years Later. The movie brings back original screenwriter Alex Garland and director Danny Boyle after the two were absent from 28 Weeks Later in 2007. The duo created this franchise in 2002 with the low-budget hit 28 Days Later. Now, they have big plans for the series’ future.
There’s a lot we don’t know about the post-apocalyptic world of 28 Years Later, where the infection that turns people into zombies is known as the “rage virus.” According to the movie’s official synopsis, the virus has now gone global, with small groups of survivors existing only through “ruthlessly enforced quarantine.” The community this story will focus on has settled on a small island, which is only connected to the mainland by a small, heavily-guarded causeway.
The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes — all of whom are newcomers to the franchise. However, it also has original star Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Jim from 28 Days Later. The extent of his role is unclear, but he has also been added to the cast of the next movie, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. That complicates fans’ speculation that Jim has been infected himself.
We’ll have the answers soon, as 28 Years Later and The Bone Temple were shot back-to-back. The Bone Temple is scheduled for release on January 16, 2026, with another film reportedly in development. After lying dormant for years, this series is rising from the dead with a vengeance, and fans online are clearly excited. 28 Years Later debuts on June 20th.
Streaming
One of the best things about these two revivals is that it gives fans an excuse to binge-watch the other movies in anticipation. For those interested, 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later are available only on PVOD stores for rental or purchase. You can find them on Apple TV, Fandango at Home and Prime Video, or in physical media.
The Final Destination series is tricky to track down as well. The first movie was added to Paramount+ on January 1st, but the second and third movies are only available to stream on PVOD stores. The fourth movie, titled The Final Destination, is streaming now on Max. For Final Destination 5, you’ll have to go back to PVOD stores.
Horror fans, rejoice! Two of the most iconic horror franchises are set to make a long-awaited comeback this year, after more than a decade since their last installments.
First up, we have the return of the terrifying “Scream” series. The fifth installment, simply titled “Scream,” is set to hit theaters in 2022. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the film will see the return of original cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette, as well as introduce a new generation of characters to the deadly game of Ghostface. With a blend of nostalgia and fresh scares, “Scream” is sure to please both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.
Next, we have the highly-anticipated revival of the “Paranormal Activity” series. The seventh film, also titled “Paranormal Activity,” is set to be released this year. While plot details are being kept under wraps, fans can expect the return of the found footage style that made the original film a hit, as well as plenty of spine-tingling scares. With a new creative team at the helm, including director William Eubank, “Paranormal Activity” promises to bring a fresh perspective to the franchise while staying true to its horror roots.
Both “Scream” and “Paranormal Activity” have left a lasting impact on the horror genre, and their return is sure to be a welcome sight for fans craving some new scares. So mark your calendars, horror lovers, because 2022 is shaping up to be a thrilling year for these beloved franchises.

The Final Destination movie series is among the latest to get a reboot, and the upcoming sixth movie can finally explain the franchise’s biggest mystery thanks to one important change. Back in 2000, the horror genre was going through a peak in slasher stories, and Final Destination arrived to add extra chaos to this branch. Directed by James Wong, Final Destination introduces the audience to Alex Browning (Devon Sawa), who has a vivid vision of the plane he’s boarding exploding. Alex, a teacher, and some of his friends and classmates leave the plane, which minutes later explodes just like in his vision.
Because Alex and the rest cheated Death, they begin to die in bizarre circumstances, one by one in the order they were meant to die on the plane. The success of Final Destination led to a franchise with a total of five movies and a sixth one in development, with the rest of the movies following the same formula as the first one. However, the upcoming reboot, Final Destination: Bloodlines, is doing things slightly differently, and thanks to this, it can finally solve the franchise’s biggest mystery without losing the saga’s essence.
Final Destination: Bloodlines Will Focus On First Responders
Final Destination 6 Is Taking A Different Approach
The Final Destination movies don’t follow a continuity, instead just being set in the same universe – however, Final Destination 5 reveals at the end that it’s a prequel, and the ending makes way for the plane explosion at the beginning of the first movie. Final Destination: Bloodlines, then, isn’t a direct sequel to either movie in the saga, but it will have a different approach than the one seen in the previous movies and that the audience now knows a bit too well.
Final Destination 5’s ending has one of the greatest horror movie plot twists ever, however, it is the only good thing about this underwhelming movie.
What’s known about Final Destination: Bloodlines so far is that it will be set in the world of first responders, featuring firefighters, EMTs, and police officers, Final Destination: Bloodlines also brings back Tony Todd’s William Bludworth, the only character from the previous movies to return, and the movie is said to explore his backstory. The new Final Destination movie has also been said to differ from the franchise’s formula, which, taking into account the presence of first responders, might mean that, instead of following the victims of Death’s plan, Bloodlines will focus on those attending to the bizarre deaths.
Final Destination Has Never Explained The Mystery Of The Visions
Final Destination’s Biggest Mystery Is All About The Visions
In every Final Destination movie, the main character has a vivid vision of the catastrophic and deadly event that kicks off the movie. The Final Destination formula is that, after the vision, the character manages to save some of the people meant to die – both people close to them and strangers – but Death doesn’t like to be cheated, so they die one by one in mysterious and horrifying ways. However, none of the Final Destination movies have explained why these visions happen and why these characters get them, as there are no signs of them ever having visions before.
The Final Destination franchise focuses on Death’s design, which is constantly changing; here is every death rule and their exceptions explained.
Of course, this has made way for different theories on why the visions happen and whether they happen at random or whether these characters had something “special” that turned them into targets. One of them suggests that the visions in the Final Destination movies are part of Death’s design, and it gives them to these characters to give them and others a chance to escape, all so Death can later chase them down and, in the process, claim the lives of others who have the bad luck of being near them.
Letting them go also means that Death has to come up with a new plan to take their lives, through which it also kills more people – in short, the theory suggests Death loves chaos and is the source of the visions, all so it can claim more lives than the original accident alone would. Whether this or any other theory is correct or not, the truth is that Final Destination: Bloodlines focusing on first responders is the way to solve the franchise’s mystery about the visions.
How Final Destination: Bloodlines Can Solve The Mystery Of The Visions Through First Responders
This Is The Best Chance To Solve The Franchise’s Biggest Mystery
As mentioned above, Final Destination: Bloodlines following first responders and differing from the franchise’s formula could mean that they are not the targets of Death’s plan, and instead, they attend and investigate the mysterious deaths of those who are. Without the pressure and threat of being chased by Death, the first responders could investigate a lot deeper than the characters in the previous movies could, with the help of Bludworth. This also allows Bloodlines more timeline freedom, as it can be set between movies, after The Final Destination, or before Final Destination 5.
Final Destination: Bloodlines is arriving 14 years after Final Destination 5, and it has to get one key thing right to be worth the wait.
With this, Final Destination: Bloodlines would differ from the franchise’s formula everyone now knows, but without losing the saga’s essence and still featuring bizarre and shocking deaths. Final Destination: Bloodlines has the potential to solve the huge mystery of the source of the visions and how the targets are chosen, but it could also end up making it a lot bigger.
The premonition-based horror franchise returns in Final Destination: Bloodlines. This entry acts a relaunch for the series with the formula remaining the same. Each Film’s protagonist is given a vision of a deadly event that takes several lives – by using this information to avoid their own death and the deaths of others, By doing this, death looks to claim those who’ve escaped by orchestrating bizarre accidents that kill them one by one.

The Final Destination franchise has been thrilling audiences for years with its gruesome deaths and intricate plots, but one mystery has always eluded fans: why do the characters have premonitions of their deaths?
In Final Destination 6, this long-standing question will finally be answered thanks to one key change in the franchise’s formula. Instead of the usual supernatural explanation for the characters’ visions, it will be revealed that a secret society has been pulling the strings all along.
This society, known as The Watchers, has been orchestrating the deaths of the characters in order to maintain a delicate balance in the universe. By giving the characters premonitions of their deaths, The Watchers are able to ensure that fate is always fulfilled.
With this new twist, Final Destination 6 promises to delve deeper into the mythology of the franchise and provide a satisfying resolution to its biggest mystery. Fans can look forward to a thrilling and unexpected conclusion that will leave them on the edge of their seats.
Christopher Nolan’s incredible sci-fi drama, Interstellar, has finally landed on Netflix to ring in 2025, and its awards history may prove surprising given the film’s enduring popularity and acclaim. Since early in his career, Nolan has continued to exemplify a mastery of high-concept sci-fi and action films, such as with Memento, The Prestige, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, and Tenet. In the decade since the movie’s release, the argument that the apex of Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic filmmaking arrived in 2014 with Interstellar has only received more support, laying the groundwork for the director’s massive achievements with films like Oppenheimer.
Interstellar debuted with positive reviews and an impressive box office showing for a non-franchise Nolan project. Following its IMAX re-release in December 2024, Interstellar has amassed over $740 million against a $165 million budget (via Box Office Mojo), and currently holds a 72% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the widespread acclaim and enthusiasm for his movie back in 2014, it would take another decade before Nolan would win Best Picture, let alone Best Director, for 2023’s Oppenheimer. With Interstellar now streaming on Netflix, it’s a great opportunity to see again why those feats should have occurred so much earlier.
Interstellar Is Now Streaming On Netflix For The First Time In The US
Christopher Nolan’s Sci-Fi Hit Interstellar Has Finally Joined Netflix’s Movie Library
Though Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi movies – Interstellar in particular – are generally better suited for theatrical viewing than at-home on a smaller screen, their additions to streaming catalogs still provide a more accessible way for new audiences to find his work and established fans to easily rewatch his masterpieces. As such, Interstellar joining Netflix’s movie library on January 1, 2025 is a huge win for the streaming service, with the anticipation to watch the Matthew McConaughey-starring sci-fi film doubtlessly being much higher after Nolan’s achievements with Oppenheimer.
Christopher Nolan’s 2010 sci-fi movie Inception is also now streaming on Netflix.
Before coming to Netflix in 2025, Interstellar had long been available to stream on Paramount+, unsurprisingly due to the movie being a Paramount Pictures co-production, but Netflix’s larger subscriber numbers now offer a much wider audience reach. Of course, its arrival on Netflix also came at the perfect time, as Interstellar’s high-demand IMAX re-release in December was only available in select locations, with many missing out on seeing the film in the premium format. It may not be the same as watching Interstellar on the big screen, but having immediate access to the sci-fi hit is still a great benefit.
Interstellar has only recently been understood as one of Christopher Nolan’s best films, but the resurgence in popularity is well deserved.
There are no reports of Interstellar having been available to stream on Netflix in the US prior to its January 2025 release, which will certainly help open the Christopher Nolan movie up to a brand-new slate of audiences. Additionally, since Interstellar’s cast stars a young Timothée Chalamet as Coop’s son, Tom, the interest in seeing the film on Netflix should also be greater due to the actor’s current critically acclaimed theatrical release, A Complete Unknown. Not to mention, Nolan’s name is back in the headlines following the announcement of his upcoming adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.
Interstellar Is Still One Of Christopher Nolan’s Best Movies
Interstellar Remains A Major Achievement In Filmmaking
Christopher Nolan has no shortage of acclaimed movies, and has continued to release incredibly strong award contenders, critical hits, and box office successes in the time since Interstellar. However, given its technical and storytelling achievements, influence on the sci-fi genre, and compelling performances by its cast, Interstellar remains one of Christopher Nolan’s best movies from across his prolific filmmaking career.
Interstellar is arguably Christopher Nolan’s best sci-fi and most emotionally compelling movie to date, with the director having then mastered his craft while integrating many of the successful, innovative elements of his celebrated earlier sci-fi projects like The Prestige and Inception. Interstellar stands tall among other Christopher Nolan movies that have created long-awaited milestones in his career, made a lasting impact on their genres and technical filmmaking, and exemplified his greatest strengths as a filmmaker.

Of course, 2008’s The Dark Knight is another of Nolan’s most revolutionary films, being a groundbreaking adaptation that changed the perception of what a superhero movie could and should be in Hollywood. Furthermore, Interstellar has earned a place high among the ranks of Nolan’s most influential films like Oppenheimer, arriving as his Best Picture-winning war biopic epic, Dunkirk, proving to be a masterful war drama, and Inception, which continues to be one of the most clever and innovative action sci-fi movies from the 21st century.
Interstellar Shockingly Wasn’t Nominated For The Best Picture Oscar (But Deserved To Be That Year’s Winner)
Interstellar’s Influential Legacy Continues To Be Strengthened As Time Passes
Though Interstellar is now widely regarded as one of Christopher Nolan’s greatest filmmaking achievements, it was shockingly snubbed at the 2015 Oscars in the top category. In 2015, the Best Picture nominees were Birdman (which won the award), American Sniper, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything, and Whiplash. To be fair, 2014 was an incredibly strong year for movies, so Interstellar had steep competition during the awards circuit. But, the fact that it wasn’t even nominated for Best Picture, despite its holistic, influential accomplishments, is baffling.
It’s been 10 years since Christopher Nolan released Interstellar, and while there’s a lot to love, there are some flaws that stand out on a rewatch.
One explanation for Interstellar’s snub that year is the fact that the majority of the 2015 Best Picture Oscar nominees were biopics, dramas, historical films, and timely commentaries on the pressures of craft-making and the industry itself. Interstellar didn’t quite fit this mold, so, unlike Christopher Nolan’s previous sci-fi hit Inception, it was left out of Best Picture contention. Additionally, perhaps even more surprisingly, Christopher Nolan wasn’t even nominated for Best Director for Interstellar, despite being one of the greatest examples of his direction to date.
It’s shocking today to recall Interstellar being excluded from Best Picture contention, especially since its reputation has grown even more positive in the decade since.
Interstellar wasn’t completely forgotten at the 2015 Oscars ceremony, however. The Christopher Nolan movie was nominated for Oscars in the Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects categories, the latter of which Interstellar won. Still, it’s shocking today to recall Interstellar being excluded from Best Picture contention, especially since its reputation has grown even more positive in the decade since, which can’t be said for some of the other films that received nods in the category that year.
Birdman remains a fantastic piece of filmmaking with poignant themes and timely cultural commentary, and is certainly among Alejandro G. Iñárritu and Michael Keaton’s best work, but it’s currently difficult to believe that it will have a stronger, more influential, and enduring legacy in Hollywood’s future than Interstellar. It took a long time for Nolan’s movies to break the barrier of Oscar contention despite their cultural and technical influence (Inception was his first Best Picture nod), but with Oppenheimer finally landing him a win, his upcoming films, hopefully, won’t be overlooked in the same fashion as Interstellar in 2015.
From Christopher Nolan, Interstellar imagines a future where the Earth is plagued by a life-threatening famine, and a small team of astronauts is sent out to find a new prospective home among the stars. Despite putting the mission first, Coop (Matthew McConaughey) races against time to return home to his family even as they work to save mankind back on Earth.

Reba McEntire may not be returning for season 27 of The Voice, but that doesn’t mean fans won’t see her on their screens. The flame-haired “Queen of Country” is currently starring in the NBC sitcom Happy’s Place. And the Academy of Country Music officially announced Wednesday (Jan. 1) that Reba will return to host this year’s historic 60th awards ceremony.
Reba McEntire Has Hosted the ACM Awards More Than Anyone
During last year’s ACM Awards, Reba McEntire promised she’d be back next year to host. Now, the Academy of Country Music has made that official. “We can finally say ‘Reba will be back THIS YEAR to host the 60th ACM Awards!’” read a post on the Academy’s official Instagram page.
The 60th ACM Awards ceremony will return to the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on May 8, 2025. This marks the Lone Star State’s third consecutive year to host the awards show.
This year also marks Reba’s 18th time to host or co-host the ceremony—more than any other artist in ACM history. The “Fancy” hitmaker first co-hosted the show in 1986 with John Schneider and the late Mac Davis.
In fact, Reba is gaining ground on Bob Hope as the “host with the most” for any major awards show. Hope hosted or co-hosted the Oscars 19 times between 1940 and 1978.
“After her triumphant return this year for the 59th show, there is clearly no one better suited to helm this milestone show!” ACM CEO Damon Whiteside previously said in a statement.
Instagram users were eager to see Reba return to the Ford Center stage. “I can’t wait to see her host again,” one fan wrote.
Another added, ” So excited! She needs to perform too!! She’s truly the best !”
‘The Voice’ Champ Says Reba Was “Like a Mother” To Him
Under Reba McEntire’s tutelage, Asher HaVon became the first openly LGBTQ+ winner of The Voice. And the season 25 champ is still singing the seven-time Top Female Vocalist’s praises nearly a year later.
HaVon, 32, dropped his latest single, “Thank You,” on Thanksgiving Day.
“The entire song was based on our relationship, of course being from Selma, not experiencing a big city and then going to the big city and meeting Reba,” he told the Selma Times-Journal.
He continued, “She really cultivated me like a mother with a son and just really walked me through some great trials and really bringing me out on the other side as a mentor, as a coach and as a mother.”
