The Buffalo Bills are wearing blue home jerseys for their AFC divisional round game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Ryan Fitzpatrick prefers shirts versus skins.
Fitzpatrick, 42, fired up the crowd in ice-cold Orchard Park before Buffalo took on the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round of the playoffs Sunday night.
He went bare-chested. Again.
Fitzpatrick was an apropos selection for the Bills Legend of the Game, bestowed upon a former Buffalo player who takes the field to pump up fans.
Fitzpatrick made it through part of his performance fully-clothed before saying, “I’ve got to ask you a question but hold on one sec.”
He ripped off his jersey and jacket, flexing and screaming like a WWE promo. The crowd roared and chanted with Fitzpatrick in unison, “Where else would you rather be, then right here, right now?” echoing former Bills coach Marv Levy’s motivational question to his players:
Fitzpatrick threw his jersey into the stands.
If frigid temperatures put hair on your chest, Fitzpatrick has spent a lot of time in the cold. It’s 18 degrees at kickoff and feels like 11 degrees with the wind chill, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
Fitzpatrick has gone shirtless at Highmark Stadium before as a fan and TV analyst. The third time was another charm, or repulsive if you’re appalled by follicle sweaters.
Fitzpatrick ripped off his shirt and flexed in the stands as the Bills drubbed the New England Patriots in the playoffs in January 2022. He pleased the after-party Bills crowd in October 2023 when he removed his shirt and blazer to interview Josh Allen on the Amazon’s Thursday Night Football postgame show.
Fitzpatrick played for nine teams over his 17-year NFL career. He started growing his trademark beard while playing in Buffalo from 2009 to 2012.
Fitzpatrick has the most career passing yards and touchdowns in league history without without a playoff appearance. He’s living his best life appearing – half-clothed – on the field today in the postseason.
Fitzpatrick joined Amazon Prime Video as an analyst in 2022 and signed a three-year extension in October.
Welcome to Buffalo. No shoes for Mack Hollins. No shirt for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Both are a wonderful service to all Bills fans.
