  • Flick confesses he wants him out of Barça

In a shocking revelation, Barcelona manager Xavi Flick has confessed that he wants a certain player out of the club. The player in question has not been named, but Flick’s statement has sent shockwaves through the football world.

Flick’s confession comes after a string of poor performances from the player, who has been under scrutiny for his lackluster play in recent matches. Flick did not hold back in his comments, stating that the player is not living up to the standards expected at Barcelona and that it may be time for him to move on.

This revelation has sparked intense speculation among fans and pundits alike, with many speculating on who the player in question could be. Some believe it could be a high-profile star struggling to find form, while others think it may be a lesser-known player who has failed to make an impact.

Regardless of the player’s identity, Flick’s blunt confession has made it clear that changes may be on the horizon at Barcelona. Only time will tell how this situation unfolds and what the future holds for the player in question.

  • Laporta agrees, but Flick refuses

In a surprising turn of events, Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, has reportedly agreed to bring in Hansi Flick as the club’s new manager. However, Flick has refused the offer, leaving fans shocked and puzzled.

Flick, who recently left his role as the head coach of the German national team, was seen as a top candidate to take over the reins at Barcelona following the departure of Ronald Koeman. Laporta’s willingness to bring in Flick was seen as a sign of ambition and a desire to return the club to its former glory.

But Flick’s refusal has thrown a wrench into Barcelona’s plans and left them scrambling to find a new manager before the start of the new season. It remains to be seen who will step in to lead the team, but one thing is for certain – the drama at Barcelona continues.

  • FC Barcelona Vs. Atalanta Champions League Line Up: Flick Goes For It

When the Catalans host Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday, FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick will make three changes compared to the side that smashed Valencia 7-1 in La Liga last weekend.

Second on the continent and third domestically after squandering a six point lead in the championship now led by bitter rival Real Madrid, it could be said that Barca is performing better in the UCL where it trails only Liverpool.

At his prematch press conference on Tuesday, however, Flick made it clear that La Liga is the most important competition to him or rather perhaps that which should be prioritized.

“Usually for me La Liga is the most important tournament we can win. At the end of the season we will take stock. There are other competitions, such as the Copa del Rey, the Super Cup and perhaps the Champions League is the most difficult competition to win. It is not easy to achieve it,” Flick explained.

“There are very good teams in the running. It’s important to win to finish in second place because it will be important for the rest of the competition,” he added.

Barca of course has considerable bonus money on the line in its final league phase match, and will have to get by a foe that Flick expects to be complicated in Europa League holders Atalanta.

“It is always difficult to play against an Italian team because they defend very well,” he noted.

“Atalanta also plays very well with one-on-ones all over the pitch. It always puts a lot of pressure on. It makes very quick transitions, it always plays with contact and we have to be ready for this. We have talked in the dressing room about how to play against them and make good decisions.”

In the same sitdown with the press, Flick confirmed that Wojciech Szczesny will be his goalkeeper over Inaki Pena, after also getting the nod against Benfica and Valencia last week.

The back line looks the same, however, with the exception of Eric Garcia being taken out in favor of Ronald Araujo.

That means the Uruguayan partners Pau Cubarsi in the heart of the back line, as they are flanked by left back Alejandro Balde and a Jules Kounde in fine form at right back.

In midfield, Pedri has recovered from the illness that kept him out last time and will team up with Frenkie de Jong in a double pivot at the expense of Marc Casado.

Complimented for his touching gesture towards a teammate on Sunday, Gavi is the CAM with wingers Raphinha and Lamine Yamal to his left and right respectively.

Up top, the UCL’s top scorer Robert Lewandowski will try to extend his tally.

FC Barcelona Starting XI Vs. Atalanta: Szczesny; Balde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Kounde; Pedri, De Jong; Raphinha, Gavi, Lamine; Lewandowski

FC Barcelona and Atalanta are set to face off in the Champions League, with both teams vying for a spot in the quarter-finals. Barcelona manager Hans-Dieter Flick has gone for a bold lineup in a bid to secure victory in this crucial match.

Flick has named a strong starting XI, with Lionel Messi leading the attack alongside Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele. In midfield, Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets will provide the creative spark, while Pedri will be tasked with linking up play between the midfield and attack.

Defensively, Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo will marshal the backline, with Jordi Alba and Sergino Dest providing width on the flanks. In goal, Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be looking to keep a clean sheet and help Barcelona secure a crucial win.

Atalanta, on the other hand, will be looking to cause an upset and progress to the next round of the competition. With a strong attacking lineup featuring the likes of Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel, Barcelona will need to be on their toes defensively to keep their opponents at bay.

It promises to be an exciting and closely contested match, with both teams having the firepower to score goals. Flick’s bold lineup suggests that Barcelona are going all out for the win, and fans will be eagerly anticipating the outcome of this Champions League clash.

  • Flick Demands Barca Focus More After Liga Slump

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said his team were lacking up to 10 percent in La Liga and he called for more focus

    FILIPE AMORIM

    Text size

Barcelona’s recent slump in La Liga has left many fans and pundits questioning the team’s focus and commitment. The Blaugrana have struggled to find consistency in their performances, dropping points against lower-ranked teams and failing to keep up with their title rivals.

Manager Julian Nagelsmann has been vocal about the need for his players to be more focused and disciplined on the pitch. In a recent press conference, Nagelsmann stressed the importance of maintaining high levels of concentration throughout the entire 90 minutes of a match.

Star striker Erling Haaland echoed his manager’s sentiments, stating that the team needs to be more mentally strong and resilient in order to bounce back from their recent poor results.

With crucial matches coming up in both La Liga and the Champions League, Barcelona cannot afford to continue dropping points. It is imperative that the players heed Nagelsmann’s demands and refocus on their goals if they want to salvage their season and compete for silverware.

Only time will tell if Barcelona can rise to the challenge and turn their season around, but one thing is clear – the team must focus more if they want to achieve success.

  • ‘We need fresh legs’ – Hansi Flick hints at resting Pedri as Barcelona boss vows to make changes against Valencia

Barcelona were pushed to the limit in their epic comeback win over Benfica in Champions League action this week, and have another big European game against Atalanta looking to secure a Top 2 finish in the League Phase standings next Wednesday.

The Blaugrana have already played a ton of big games this January with pretty much the same starting XI, so it’s natural to wonder if coach Hansi Flick will be making any changes to his team on Sunday’s La Liga clash with relegation candidates Valencia.

Flick was asked about potential rotations in a press conference on Saturday, and he confirmed that he indeed plans to make some changes to the team, including resting his best and most important player, midfielder Pedri.

“At the moment he is playing at 100% and very well. I already mentioned that we changed the philosophy regarding Pedri. He will continue to play because it suits him better. He may not be in the starting eleven. We need fresh legs to face Valencia. We will see. There are changes planned in the team.”

Pedri has been in incredible form all season and most importantly has been fully healthy for the first time in almost four years, so it’s crucial to make sure he stays available for as long as possible.

Barça are certainly good enough to win on Sunday without Pedri’s brilliance, even if they’re not as dominant in midfield because of his absence, but a programmed rest for the world’s best midfielder every now and then is never a bad idea.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has hinted at resting star midfielder Pedri in an upcoming match against Valencia, as he vows to make changes to the squad in search of fresh legs.

Flick, who took over as manager of Barcelona earlier this season, has been impressed by Pedri’s performances but recognizes the need to rotate the squad and give other players a chance to shine.

“We need fresh legs for the upcoming matches, and that means making some changes to the starting lineup,” Flick said in a press conference. “Pedri has been fantastic for us, but it’s important to keep the squad fresh and give other players an opportunity to show what they can do.”

Barcelona have been struggling in recent weeks, with a string of poor results in both domestic and European competitions. Flick is determined to turn things around and believes that making changes to the squad will help improve the team’s performances.

“We have a talented squad with a lot of quality players, and I have full confidence in their abilities,” Flick added. “I will be making some changes for the upcoming match against Valencia, and I expect the players to step up and deliver a strong performance.”

Barcelona fans will be eagerly anticipating the changes Flick makes to the squad, as they hope to see their team return to winning ways. With Pedri potentially being rested, it will be interesting to see which players Flick chooses to bring into the starting lineup and how they perform against Valencia.

  • Hansi Flick says ‘it won’t be easy against Valencia’

There is no time to lose in the league for Barça after a run of disappointing recent results. The blaugranes have slipped to third in the table behind Atlético Madrid and leaders Real Madrid and Hansi Flick’s team cannot afford to drop many more points, starting with the visit of Valencia on Sunday in La Liga.

In his pre-game press conference on Saturday, Barça coach Hansi Flick cast his eye over his team’s next opponents: “Valencia have improved a lot in defence and they know what they are doing. We have to create chances and it will not be easy. It’s really important to win every and that’s the attitude we have going out on the field.” Flick will be hoping his team can carry over their impressive form this month in other competitions after the Super Cup final win over Real Madrid and the recent comeback victory in Lisbon against Benfica in the Champions League.

“It may seem that in the league we have not been at 100%, and that is something we have to change and be switched on from the start,” said Flick. The German coach refused to give any clues about his starting line up for the game in the Estadi Olímpic, Barça’s first home league game of 2025.

This week there has been good news for Hansi Flick with both Ronald Araujo and Gerard Martín agreeing new contracts. “The Club and Deco are doing a great job. We are looking  for new players but the most important thing is to talk with the ones we have, they are really important and that is what we are doing. I really like the way that Deco manages the squad,” concluded Flick.

Hansi Flick, the head coach of Bayern Munich, has acknowledged the tough task ahead as his team prepares to face Valencia in the Champions League.

In a recent press conference, Flick stated, “Valencia is a strong team with quality players and they will certainly pose a challenge for us. It won’t be easy against them, but we are ready for the battle.”

With Bayern Munich aiming to defend their Champions League title, Flick and his players are fully aware of the importance of every match in the competition. The coach emphasized the need for focus and determination in order to come out on top against Valencia.

As the match draws near, fans can expect an intense and competitive encounter between these two top European clubs. Bayern Munich will look to showcase their strength and skill, while Valencia will be eager to make a statement with a strong performance.

It’s clear that Flick and his team are not underestimating their opponents and are fully prepared to give it their all on the pitch. The upcoming match promises to be a thrilling spectacle for football fans around the world.

  • Back in Action: Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz try to charm their way in a boring, predictable and unfunny action flick

The film industry has always had a soft spot for reunions, and Back in Action is no exception, reuniting Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz in a bid to recapture their past glories. However, this film feels more like an easy, breezy ride down memory lane rather than a memorable cinematic experience.

Back in Action stars Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx in lead roles.

In this latest offering, Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Foxx) are former intelligence agents now grappling with the mundane yet chaotic life of suburban parenting. Their characters, portrayed with an endearing chemistry by Foxx and Diaz, hark back to their action-packed days with a longing that feels both genuine and humorous.

From the outset, the film establishes its comedic tone, which, surprisingly, delivers some unexpected laughs. Foxx and Diaz, despite initial doubts about their on-screen rapport, manage to create a fun and natural dynamic that carries the film through its more predictable moments. Their performances are the highlights, showing that both actors still have the charisma and talent to make even the most familiar tropes enjoyable. Diaz, in particular, proves that her magic on screen has not diminished, even if the script she’s given does little to challenge or showcase her full capabilities.

The plot revolves around the couple’s past catching up with them when their identities are compromised, forcing them back into the world of espionage, this time with their children in tow. This premise sets up a series of action sequences that, while not particularly thrilling or innovative, are competently handled. The action is underscored by a soundtrack that feels both nostalgic and slightly mocking of the genre’s clichés, with songs like Etta James’s At Last playing during less-than-glorious moments, adding a layer of irony that sometimes works and at other times feels forced.

However, the film’s attempt to blend family dynamics with high-octane action falls flat. The dialogue, meant to be witty, often resorts to tired sitcom clichés, missing the mark for both humour and depth. The screenplay by Brendan O’Brien lacks the sharpness needed to elevate the material beyond the ordinary, leaving much of the comedic heavy lifting to the stars themselves.

Supporting performances vary in impact. Andrew Scott, as the antagonist, seems somewhat misplaced, while Glenn Close and Jamie Demetriou venture into over-the-top territory, their efforts more cringe-inducing than captivating. Their attempts at scene-stealing are more about volume than substance, which unfortunately detracts from the film’s overall enjoyment.

While Back in Action serves as a delightful reminder of why we love Foxx and Diaz, the film itself doesn’t offer much to remember. It’s a light, breezy watch that won’t linger long in one’s memory but provides enough entertainment for a pleasant evening. It’s a testament to the stars’ enduring appeal rather than a landmark in action-comedy filmmaking. In essence, it is an easy, low-effort comeback vehicle that proves Diaz’s charm is intact, though she might want to choose her next projects more judiciously to truly shine once more.

Get ready for some high-octane thrills and lackluster humor, because Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz are back on the big screen in their latest action flick, “Back in Action.”

In this subpar movie, Foxx and Diaz play a pair of charming yet cliched characters who are thrown into a series of predictable and unexciting action sequences. From car chases to fight scenes, there’s nothing in this film that hasn’t been done a thousand times before.

Despite their best efforts, Foxx and Diaz struggle to breathe life into their flat characters, relying on tired jokes and over-the-top performances to try and salvage the lackluster script. It’s a shame to see such talented actors wasted on a film that feels like a cheap knockoff of better action movies.

Overall, “Back in Action” is a forgettable and uninspired film that fails to deliver on its promises of excitement and humor. Save your money and skip this one at the box office.
