HENDERSON, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders were delayed several hours Saturday for their morning charter flight to New Orleans because of a mechanical issue on their plane. The team had to wait for a second plane later in the evening.
The Raiders held their pregame team meetings, normally done at the hotel after the road team’s arrival, at their facility while waiting for the plane issues to resolve.
The Raiders did not depart Las Vegas until about 7 p.m. PT and they are scheduled to kick off against the Saints at 12 p.m. CT Sunday.
A tornado warning and a flash flood warning were issued for the New Orleans area Saturday night as storms rolled in.
The Las Vegas Raiders were delayed for several hours ahead of their flight to New Orleans for their upcoming game against the Saints. The team was scheduled to depart early in the morning, but a mechanical issue with the plane forced them to wait for a replacement aircraft.
Despite the setback, the Raiders remained in good spirits and used the extra time to review game film, strategize, and bond as a team. Head coach Jon Gruden assured fans that the delay would not affect their preparation for the game and that the team was focused and ready to compete.
Fans took to social media to express their support for the team and wish them safe travels. The Raiders are determined to put their best foot forward and come out victorious in their matchup against the Saints. Stay tuned for updates on their journey to New Orleans and their performance on game day. #RaiderNation #Delay #Flight #NewOrleans #GameDay
Reportedly one JetBlue flight attendant stole thousands of dollars from victims by selling flight passes. She got caught, and the passes were cancelled. One of her victims even made the story part of their comedy routine.
That would only sort of be stealing from the airline if these were her passes, and they were supposed to be honored. It seems like that may be part of the story, or at least how she started, selling passes that weren’t eligible for sale. And in that case JetBlue honored some seats they’d expected to honor, just for different people, and ultimately (since the passes were cancelled) fewer seats than they’d planned.
The marketing pitch was bigger than that, though, and she wasn’t just selling travel on JetBlue: ‘$250 roundtrips with two week advance purchase for partner airline travel’ including international and claimed that these were won as a prize and that they were transferable. But even that’s not the whole story.
She was also reportedly selling trips at below cost charged to a (someone’s) credit card
Those discounted trips hooked people in, and then she took more of their money
Which she kept, or at least didn’t return or provide the promised travel.
Somehow first class travel comes into this, and disputes through Venmo, where the flight attendant allegedly photoshopped screen shots to make it look like travel had been delivered (in order to win the disputes).
She was apparently married to a well-known MMA fighter, and marketed the passes as discount travel with him as part of the pitch.
When things came crashing down, she tried to refund some passengers. One of her customers claims she was selling new travel to pay back previous customers. Reportedly she says that since she no longer has a job (JetBlue) she’s having a hard time getting the money to pay people back.
According to JetBlue,
We take matters like this very seriously, and after a thorough investigation, we learned that this individual was misrepresenting that they could sell JetBlue flights in an unauthorized and improper fashion. I can report the person no longer works for JetBlue.
We deeply regret that anyone was affected by this person’s conduct. We have strongly encouraged anyone who may have been a victim of this individual to contact their financial institution and law enforcement, as they may be able to assist in recovering funds. We have and will continue to assist law enforcement in whatever way possible to complete their investigation. As a reminder, customers should only purchase travel from authorized channels or verified travel agents.
Apparently there are at least five active civil cases against the flight attendant.

JetBlue Flight Attendant's $250 Ticket Scam: Inside MMA-Linked First Class Fraud on Venmo
A JetBlue flight attendant has been accused of running a $250 ticket scam on Venmo, targeting passengers looking to upgrade to first class on flights connected to MMA events. The alleged scam involved the flight attendant offering to sell first class tickets at a discounted rate through the popular payment app, only to never deliver the tickets or provide refunds.
The flight attendant, who has not been named, is said to have used his connections in the MMA community to target fans attending events across the country. By offering discounted first class tickets, he was able to lure in unsuspecting passengers who were eager to upgrade their travel experience.
However, once the money was sent via Venmo, the flight attendant would reportedly block the individuals and never provide the promised tickets. Some victims claim they were scammed out of hundreds of dollars, with no recourse for a refund.
This incident has raised concerns about the security of using payment apps like Venmo for transactions, as well as the potential for fraud in the airline industry. It serves as a reminder to always be cautious when making online purchases, especially when dealing with individuals who may not have a reputable track record.
As the investigation into this fraudulent scheme continues, passengers are urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the proper authorities. In the meantime, those affected by the scam are left to wonder if they will ever see their money again, or if they have been taken advantage of by a first class fraudster.

As far as personal storylines go for Alden Parker go, the biggest one so far in NCIS Season 22 has been the mystery of Lily, the little girl he first hallucinated in the Season 21 finale and who will remain a “long term thing for him” as the show resumes on the 2025 TV schedule. However, the episode “Knight and Day” also revealed that Gary Cole’s character had a past with Rebecca DeMornay’s Carla Morino, head of the Kansas City mob. While it was left ambiguous at the end of that episode whether or not we’d see more of Carla or this criminal organization, NCIS showrunner Steven B. Binder assured CinemaBlend that there is a “flight plan” for these bad guys.
Remembering how Parker put up a picture of Carla in his bullpen at the end of “Knight and Day,” I asked Binder in a recent interview, which also included talk about what’s ahead for Deputy Director Gabriel LaRoche and Nick Torres’ secret girlfriend, for clarification about if this was a trade that we’ll see more of DeMornay’s character or if she was just a one-off villain. Here’s what he told me:
This is another longer term thing that we’re playing with. The Kansas City mafia is gonna reappear, not necessarily in person by the end of the season. We’ll see exactly. Maybe. But as has been remarked to me often, we work on a slightly longer time frame with our subplots and things because we’ve been on the air for so long, so we have the runway. There’s a flight plan with Carla and Rebecca De Mornay and the Kansas City mob, for sure.
Carla Morino came into the picture in “Knight and Day” when the team was tasked with protecting Melissa Radmore, the wife of defense contractor Freddy Radmore and a major Washington D.C. powerhouse in her own right. It turned out that Melissa was previously April Day, who ran off after graduating high school with Jason Morino, Carla’s son. Jason wanted nothing to do with his mother’s criminal activities, but he died in a motorcycle accident when he was 20 years old, and April was three months pregnant when this happened. She gave her daughter, Lauren, up for adoption and deliberately chose not to learn where she was being taken, but 20 years later, Carla showed up in D.C. and tried to find Lauren, going to far as to kidnap Melinda/April to obtain a genetic sample
In the midst of all this, viewers learned that Alden Parker had crossed paths with Carla Morino in Kansas City during his FBI years. That history combined with the events of “Knight and Day” was enough for Parker to make apprehending Carla a long-term goal, and now we know from Steven D. Binder that this will indeed be revisited at a later date. Unlike the Lily mystery though, it doesn’t sound like Carla and/or the Kansas City mob are guaranteed to return before Season 22 is over, and may instead be saved for Season 23, assuming that is greenlit. I also wouldn’t be surprised if another tease for these baddies is seeded into the Season 22 finale to set the stage for what would come in the 2025-2026 TV season.
As soon as any new details concerning NCIS’ use of the Kansas City mob come to light, we’ll pass them along. For now, the series will return with new episodes on Monday, January 27, but you can stream any of its released episodes with a Paramount+ subscription now.
In a shocking twist, NCIS fans were introduced to a new criminal organization in Season 22 – the Kansas City Mob. Showrunner Scott Williams revealed that he has big plans for these baddies, teasing a “flight plan” for their storyline.
The Kansas City Mob made their debut in the episode “Mob Mentality,” where they were revealed to be a ruthless and powerful criminal syndicate operating in the Midwest. Led by the enigmatic mob boss Vincent “Vinnie” DeLuca, played by guest star Bobby Cannavale, the mob quickly proved to be a formidable adversary for the NCIS team.
Williams explained that he wanted to introduce a fresh and compelling villain for the show’s 22nd season, and the Kansas City Mob fit the bill perfectly. He promised that the mob’s storyline would be a major focus throughout the season, with twists and turns that would keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
As the season progresses, fans can expect to see the Kansas City Mob clash with Gibbs and his team as they investigate a series of high-profile crimes. Williams hinted that the mob’s reach would extend far beyond Kansas City, leading to a thrilling cat-and-mouse game between the NCIS agents and the ruthless criminals.
With the introduction of the Kansas City Mob, NCIS has added a new layer of intrigue and danger to its already action-packed storyline. Fans can look forward to seeing how this new threat plays out in the coming episodes, as the showrunner’s “flight plan” for the mob unfolds.

Korean Air is expected to stop flying the longest Boeing 747 passenger flight in March 2025.
Airlines globally have been phasing out the massive jet in favor of less costly widebodies.
Only four airlines are scheduled to operate the jumbo in 2025, representing 75% fewer 747 flights than in 2019.
Korean Air is among the last airlines still flying the iconic Boeing 747, but it’s scheduled to pull the jet from a particularly long US route in 2025.
Route scheduling data from the aviation analytics company Cirium shows Korean Air plans to stop flying the 747 on its 7,153-mile route from Seoul to Atlanta — the longest 747 passenger flight by distance — in March. It will replace the 747 with the smaller Boeing 777-300ER, which has fewer seats on board.
Korean’s 777 carries up to 291 passengers, depending on the configuration, compared to the 368 seats on the double-decker 747. Korean did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Korean may sell more upgraded seats on the 777 to make up for fewer total tickets sold per flight. Most of Korean’s scheduled 777 flights to Atlanta are equipped with more high-dollar first and business-class seats than the 747.
The carrier is expected to fly the 747 to New York, Los Angeles, and Singapore next year but plans to retire the fleet fully by 2031. Reuters reported that Korean sold five Boeing 747s in May for $674 million as part of its phase-out plan.

Airlines globally have been phasing out the famous “Queen of the Skies” for years. Boeing ended production of the jet in December 2022 after 54 years and 1,574 units built.
While the 747 was already leaving fleets before 2020 — with no US carrier flying it by the end of 2017 — airlines accelerated retirements when the pandemic uprooted travel.
British Airways, Dutch flag carrier KLM, and Australia’s Qantas all ditched the plane during Covid to help weather losses and better shape their future fleets.
The gas-guzzling four-engine 747 is costly and inefficient compared to newer twin-engine widebodies, like Boeing’s 777 and 787 and Airbus’ A330neo and A350, that airlines now more readily rely on.
One of British Airways’ 747s was converted into a stationary “party plane” in England. Pictured is that plane’s on-display cockpit.Taylor Rains/Business Insider
The 747 also proved too big for airlines’ needs, especially as point-to-point flying using smaller widebodies became more lucrative than the traditional hub-and-spoke model that warranted greater capacity.
Even narrow-body planes are starting to become more common on long-haul flights.
Airbus’ family of extra-ranged A321neos is particularly revolutionizing this trend because they can target smaller markets with lower demand while still earning profits — and airlines favor that flexibility.
Only 4 airlines will fly the 747 in 2025
Compounding industry changes have dampened the need for jumbo-sized planes like the 747, and only four passenger airlines will still fly it in 2025.
Cirium data through November shows Air China, Korean Air, Lufthansa, and Russian carrier Rossiya Airlines have about 19,0000 collective 747 flights scheduled next year. They’ll cover 35 routes.
That’s a 75% decrease from the nearly 76,000 scheduled 747 flights across 25 global carriers in 2019.
In 2024, about 19,600 of the double-decker flights were scheduled.
South Korea’s Asiana Airlines and Middle Eastern carrier Saudia contributed to this year’s total but ceased 747 passenger flights in March and September, respectively. Asiana Airlines merged with Korean Air in December.
Lufthansa’s more than two dozen 747 jets are expected to cover 21 routes from Frankfurt in 2025, totaling about 12,000 flights, per Cirium. That’s about 63% of next year’s total scheduled 747 flights.
By comparison, Air China’s roughly 4,450 scheduled flights would cover four routes from Beijing, Korean’s 1,900 scheduled flights would cover four routes from Seoul, and Rossiya’s about 750 scheduled flights would cover six routes from Moscow.
A dozen 747 routes are scheduled to serve North America in 2025, including New York City, Newark, New Jersey, Boston, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Mexico City, and in Canada, Vancouver and Toronto.
The 747s are also expected to touch Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Argentina, Germany, South Korea, South Africa, and Singapore. Rossiya’s 747 operations are expected to be limited to Russia.

The Russian airline is a subsidiary of flag carrier Aeroflot and restarted 747 operations in 2024, likely to take advantage of the 522-seat capacity as Western sanctions limit Russia’s available planes.
Cirium data shows a majority of Rossiya’s 2025 routes are set to fly to the country’s Far East — suggesting the massive 747s are useful not just for tourists but also for cargo needed in the remote Russian region.
A new world’s longest 747 passenger flight
When Korean stops flying its 747 to Atlanta in March, Lufthansa’s 7,133-mile trek between Frankfurt and Buenos Aires would become the new longest passenger 747 flight by distance.
Korean’s 747 flight between Seoul and New York would be the second-longest at 6,906 miles, followed by Air China’s route between Beijing and New York at 6,838 miles.

Although not the longest by distance, Air China’s New York service is the longest passenger 747 trek by flight time at about 17 hours. The longer-ranged Lufthansa and Korean routes reach about 14 hours and 16 hours, respectively.
Air China would run the shortest 747 flight in 2025, flying just two hours across 667 miles between Beijing and Shanghai. According to data from OAG, the route’s nearly 7.8 million available seats ranked it among the world’s top 10 busiest domestic flights in 2024.
The airline’s other intra-China flights to Guangzhou and Shenzhen — and the only other 747 flights it operates besides Shanghai and New York — are about 1,200 miles, or roughly three and a half hours.
Rossiya is scheduled to fly a 747 route under 1,000 miles that hops between Moscow and Sochi, a popular beach town in southwest Russia along the Black Sea.
The Boeing 747, also known as the “Queen of the Skies,” has been a staple in the aviation industry for over 50 years. However, as airlines continue to modernize their fleets and shift towards more fuel-efficient aircraft, the era of the 747 is coming to an end.
One of the most iconic routes flown by the Boeing 747 is the world’s longest passenger flight, which currently operates between London Heathrow and Sydney. This 17-hour journey covers a distance of over 9,000 miles and has been a popular choice for travelers looking to experience the luxury and comfort of the jumbo jet.
Unfortunately, as airlines around the world begin to phase out their 747s in favor of newer models, this legendary flight will soon come to an end. British Airways, one of the last remaining carriers to operate the 747 on this route, has announced that they will be retiring the aircraft from their fleet by 2024.
While the end of the 747 era is bittersweet for aviation enthusiasts, there are still a few airlines that continue to operate the iconic jet on various routes around the world. Lufthansa, Qantas, and Korean Air are just a few of the carriers that still have the 747 in their fleet, offering passengers the chance to experience the magic of flying on this legendary aircraft.
So if you’ve ever dreamed of taking a flight on the world’s longest Boeing 747 passenger route, now is the time to book your ticket before it’s too late. The Queen of the Skies may be on her way out, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of aviation enthusiasts for years to come.
