Flurries expected over next couple of days

‘So far we have not broken a record for November or December. In January, the average is 80 cm for the month’

Peter Kimbell isn’t expecting Sault Ste. Marie to break any monthly records for snowfall this winter.

Kimbell, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, said the area received 74 cm of snowfall in November, 112 cm in December, and 54 cm so far in January.

“So far we have not broken a record for November or December. In January, the average is 80 cm for the month.”

Kimbell called for flurries on Wednesday with snow overnight into Thursday and flurries Thursday night.

“The snow squall threat has passed for now,” he said.

Get ready for some wintry weather, because flurries are expected to hit our area over the next couple of days! While it may not be a full-blown snowstorm, the forecast calls for light snow showers that could dust the ground and create a winter wonderland. So bundle up, grab your hot cocoa, and enjoy the beautiful flurries outside. Stay safe and warm everyone! #Flurries #WinterWeather #SnowyDays
