  • ‘Scream 7’ adds Scott Foley of ‘Scream 3,’ but is he Roman?

    Is Scott Foley ghosting us?

More than two decades after playing the role of Roman Bridger in 2000’s Scream 3, Foley now returns to the franchise for Scream 7, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Plot details are being kept strictly under wraps, so it’s unclear if he’s playing the exact same character. His presence, however, is a springboard for theories.

Foley’s Roman first appeared in Scream 3 as the director of the movie within the movie, Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro, the latest installment of the Hollywood adaptations of the Woodsboro murders. Roman later revealed himself to be the half-brother of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) through their mother, Maureen Prescott (Lynn McRee). He also served as the Ghostface killer of Scream 3 and was shot to death by Dewey (David Arquette). Even though Roman miraculously thwarted death multiple times, the last blow was a bullet to the head. Don’t see him walking away from that one.

If Foley is indeed returning as Roman, though, there is a precedent. In the fifth Scream movie, Skeet Ulrich‘s Billy Loomis returned in ghost form to haunt his daughter, Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera). Ghost Billy came back again in Scream VI. We at least know Scream 7 will focus on Sidney in a major way and address her family, including her daughter (Isabel May) and husband (Joel McHale).

Perhaps Foley could be playing Roman’s secret twin and another half-brother Sidney never knew about, or someone else entirely. We need an exhaustive Gale Weathers investigative TV special to get to the bottom of this.

Foley joins Campbell, May, and McHale, as well as fellow franchise veterans Courteney Cox as Gale, and Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin. Announced in undisclosed roles, however, are Mckenna Grace, Grace’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife costar Celeste O’Connor, Gen V‘s Asa Germann, The Fabelmans‘ Sam Rechner, Pitch Perfect‘s Anna Camp, and the most recently revealed Mark Consuelos.

Directed by Kevin Williamson and written by Guy Busick, Scream 7 is on the calendar for release on Feb. 27, 2026.

Deadline was the first to report Foley’s casting.

After much anticipation, it has been announced that Scott Foley will be joining the cast of ‘Scream 7’! Fans of the franchise will remember Foley from his role as Roman Bridger in ‘Scream 3,’ where he played the mastermind behind the Ghostface killings.

Many are speculating whether Foley will be reprising his role as Roman in the upcoming installment, or if he will be taking on a new character entirely. While details about his character have been kept under wraps, the addition of Foley to the cast has definitely sparked excitement among fans.

As we eagerly await more news about ‘Scream 7,’ one thing is for certain – with Scott Foley on board, this next chapter in the iconic horror series is sure to be filled with twists, turns, and plenty of screams. Stay tuned for more updates as they come!

  • Scott Foley Joins Cast Of ‘Scream 7’

EXCLUSIVE: Scott Foley (Scream 3, The Girls on the Bus) has joined the cast of Scream 7 from Spyglass and Paramount Pictures.

Details regarding his character and the film’s plot are currently under wraps. However, Foley is already part of the Scream universe having portrayed antagonist Roman Bridger, the film director and half-brother of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) who was revealed to be the Ghostface Killer of Scream 3.

Foley’s casting comes with its own set of questions because Roman was killed by Dewey (David Arquette) at Sidney’s request. Roman has faked his own death before so it’s plausible that he could reprise the role in the present or perhaps in flashback form in the past if he is deceased. Could Roman have a long-lost twin? This is Scream after all, so if he returns as a ghost (face killer?) or a zombie, it would not shock most. There are so many possibilities here that I defer to franchise superfans to figure out.

Foley joins the previously announced legacy cast members Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox as well as Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown, alongside newcomers Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale and Mark Consuelos.

Franchise creator Kevin Williamson is directing with Guy Busick (2022’s Scream and Scream VI) writing. Project X Entertainment’s James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein (2022’s Scream and Scream VI) are producing.

The long-running horror franchise previously generated four feature films including Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997), Scream 3 (2000) and Scream 4 (2011), directed by the late Wes Craven. It relaunched with the fifth installment, Scream, in 2022.

The latest outing, Scream VI, was released theatrically worldwide in March 2023 and holds the franchise record for highest domestic box office gross with more than $108 million and has taken in more than $169 million worldwide. Collectively, the Scream franchise has earned more than $900 million in worldwide box office receipts.

Foley most recently starred in Max’s political drama series, The Girls on the Bus, opposite Melissa Benoist and his Scream 7 co-star Consuelos. Foley can also be seen in the recurring role of, Dr. Seth McDale, on the 3rd season of ABC’s Will Trent.

In 2019, he headlined and produced ABC’s action dramedy Whiskey Cavelier. Foley starred as Jake Ballard in six seasons of ABC’s hit drama, Scandal. His other extensive TV credits include the WB’s  Felicity, Fox’s The Big Leap, HBO’s  True Blood, ABC’s  Grey’s Anatomy, CBS’ The Unit and NBC/ABC’s  Scrubs.

Foley made his feature film debut in Wes Craven’s Scream 3 for Dimension Films. He followed that with a leading role in Dimension Films’ Below opposite Matthew Davis and the indie feature Rennie’s Landing opposite Ethan Embry and Peter Facinelli. Foley’s other film credits include Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife, which he wrote, directed and produced, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, the TV movie Final Vision and Netflix’s Naked.

Next, he will star in Netflix’s romantic comedy, La Dolce Villa, which will premiere on February 13th. The film, directed by Mark Waters, follows Foley’s character Eric Field, as he travels to Italy to prevent his daughter from renovating a villa.

Foley is repped by Independent Artist Group, Atlas Artists and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern

Exciting news for horror fans! Scott Foley has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated ‘Scream 7’. The actor, known for his roles in ‘Scandal’ and ‘Felicity’, is set to bring his talent and charisma to the iconic horror franchise.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installment in the ‘Scream’ series, and with Foley on board, expectations are higher than ever. While details about his character and the plot of the film are being kept under wraps, one thing is for sure – Foley’s involvement is sure to bring a new level of excitement and intrigue to the beloved franchise.

  • Mick Foley Hits His Weight Loss Goal Of 100 Pounds, Teases Royal Rumble Appearance

Mick Foley posted a new video on his YouTube channel, updating fans on his weight loss journey.

In February 2024, Foley said that he was thinking about doing one more match, as it would be a good incentive to lose weight. Unfortunately, Foley suffered a concussion while training and decided against one more match.

Ethan Page Explains How He Related To Penta’s WWE Debut

“I weighed in a 360 and I was looking to get down to 280 by June 7th and do a death match on my 60th birthday. Unfortunately, training a little bit in the ring, I got a slight concussion and I thought, ‘If I got a concussion from that little bit that I did, what I plan do to in the deathmatch would likely kill me.’ It wouldn’t likely kill me, but I thought there was a great liklehood that if I were to drop the elbow that I always wanted to drop, off a TV truck onto the hood of a car, it seriously could undo all the benefits of having my hip replacement, and that’s been a game changer for me. The hip and knee. I thought, ‘I don’t want to take that chance of feeling numb and having a serious concussion or losing the ability to walk away without discomfort,’ which the hip replacement really helped. I started to gain weight because no matter how much weight I gained, I still felt so much better than I had,” said Foley.

In March 2024, Foley weighed 360 pounds, and his all-time high was 377 pounds. He goal was to hit 280 pounds by June 7th, his 60th birthday.

Foley weighed in at 279 pounds in the video.

He credited healthier eating, working out by doing DDP Yoga and swimming, and “cheating” for his weight loss, noting that a doctor suggested he use Wegovy, and he took that advice.

“I couldn’t walk up a slight incline getting off my plane without having to sit down for 5 or 10 minutes. I thought, ‘I’m a heart attack waiting to happen.’ If I need a little help, I should take that and say I’m not going to do it all on my own and greatly reduce my chances of doing it,” he said.

Foley said he felt good after doing the Nightmare Rumble at OVW.

“I wouldn’t say I’m not entering the Royal Rumble, but I’m not entering the Royal Rumble. That’s a pretty big leap,” he said.

At the end of the video, Foley received a phone call and teased that it was from Triple H wanting to talk to him about appearing in the Royal Rumble.

  • Mick Foley Provides Health Update, Teases WWE Royal Rumble Appearance

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley teases that he could appear at WWE Royal Rumble.

In a new video on his YouTube channel, Mick Foley discussed his weight loss journey. He noted that he weighed 360 pounds a year ago, and he wanted to get down to 280. Foley said that he thought he maxed out at 377 pounds. He stated that he had been training, as he was doing DDP Yoga, and he was feeling good.

Foley then did a weigh-in, and he was down to 279.9 pounds. When asked to comment on how he lost the weight, he detailed his process.

“I did it the old-fashioned way, it was really a three-step process,” Mick Foley said. “Healthier eating, working out, and I cheated. I went to a doctor, they saw me at over 370 pounds and suggested I could use a little help in the form of Wegovy. I know some people call it cheating, I just thought it was leveling the playing field. I’d lost all my strength, my metabolism was at an all-time low, I was gaining weight by the day. I couldn’t walk up a slight incline when I was getting off my plane without having to sit down for five or ten minutes.

“I thought, ‘I’m a heart attack waiting to happen,’ and if I need a little help, I should take that. So man, I’m taking it pretty easy. DDPYoga, some swimming. I’m not 21, I can’t jump into things like I did last year and think I can just go back to working out like I did when I was 21 and in pretty good shape. I feel pretty good. I’m feeling good.”

    Mick Foley’s Tease

Foley then noted that he was an entrant in OVW’s Nightmare Rumble, and he felt good after the match. When asked about the WWE Royal Rumble match, he first said that he would not be entering the match. However, the video ended with Foley seemingly getting a call from Triple H.

“I wouldn’t say I’m not entering the Royal Rumble,” Mick Foley said. “But I’m not entering the Royal Rumble [laughs]. No, that’s a pretty big leap from what I’ve been saying. [Phone rings]. Hold on, let me get this. Hm, 203? Hello? [Triple H’s theme song plays]. Hey Hunter. No, I’m doing good. You saw me in the Nightmare Rumble? I have lost some weight, yeah. I have been working out. Royal Rumble? Let me call you right back. Thanks, Triple H.”
