Roger Goodell: Tom Brady is “incredibly cooperative” avoiding Fox and Raiders conflicts
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says Tom Brady has done everything asked of him by the league in balancing his responsibilities as Fox’s No. 1 game commentator and a minority owner of the Raiders.
“Tom has been incredibly cooperative. He calls frequently about it and says, ‘Am I doing OK?’” Goodell said. “I think he’s serious that he separates the two and doesn’t put the league or anyone in a position of conflict.”
But the mere fact that Brady has to frequently call the league and ask if he’s doing OK shows that his situation is far outside the norm. Other team owners and game commentators don’t have to ask that question because they haven’t had special rules implemented for them the way Brady has.
Goodell reiterated that Brady, like every owner, is subject to the league’s tampering policy.
“Everybody in the National Football League, owners and personnel, is still subject to tampering rules,” Goodell said. “Everyone is responsible for his conduct and they’re held accountable.”
Goodell left room for the possibility that the policies on what Brady may and may not do could be changed this offseason. He did not say what changes are being considered.
In a recent interview, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had high praise for quarterback Tom Brady, calling him “incredibly cooperative” when it comes to avoiding conflicts with Fox and the Las Vegas Raiders.Goodell commended Brady for his professionalism and willingness to work with the league and its broadcast partners to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts that could impact game broadcasts. He also noted that Brady has been a great ambassador for the league and a strong advocate for the game of football.
With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers set to face off against the Raiders in Las Vegas this season, Brady’s cooperation has been instrumental in ensuring that the game can go ahead without any issues. Goodell expressed his gratitude to Brady for his flexibility and cooperation in navigating the challenges of the NFL schedule.
Overall, Goodell’s comments highlight the positive impact that Brady has had on the league and his commitment to helping the NFL succeed. As one of the most successful and respected players in the history of the game, Brady’s leadership both on and off the field continues to set an example for his fellow players and fans alike.

The De’Aaron Fox era in Sacramento has come to an end, but the Kings are getting another star guard in return.
The Kings are trading Fox to the San Antonio Spurs while acquiring guard Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls as part of a three-team deal, according to multiple reports. ESPN was the first to report the deal Sunday.
Sacramento will also receive three first-round picks from San Antonio (Hornets’ 2025 first-round pick, top 14 protected, Spurs’ 2027 first-round pick; Timberwolves’ 2031 first-round pick) in addition to three second-round picks (Bulls’ 2025 second-round pick; Nuggets’ 2028 second-round pick; own 2028 second-round pick back) and Spurs wing Sidy Cissoko, according to ESPN.

The Bulls will receive forward Zach Collins, guard Tre Jones and the full rights to their 2025 first-round pick back from the Spurs, plus guard Kevin Huerter from the Kings. The Spurs will also acquire guard Jordan McLaughlin from the Kings.
Fox, 27, signed a five-year, $163 million designated rookie contract extension with Sacramento in 2021 and still has one year left on his contract, but the Kings decided to move on from Fox after it became clear he wasn’t going to sign another contract extension.
Fox now joins a Spurs team headlined by first-time All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year favorite Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs currently sit 12th in the Western Conference standings at 21-25, but Fox could help them make a late playoff push this year. They’re two games out of the final play-in spot as of Sunday evening.
The Kings selected Fox with the No. 5 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. In eight years with the Kings, Fox was voted an All-Star once and was named to the All-NBA Third Team for the 2022-23 season.
Fox averaged 21.5 points, 6.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in 514 games with the Kings. He ended the 2023-24 season with the most steals in the league.
LaVine will help offset the loss of Fox for the Kings. He’s in the midst of a resurgent season, averaging 24 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
The two-time All-Star has been rumored to be on the trade block for multiple years as he’s in the third year of a five-year, $215 million contract. The move will also reunite LaVine with former Bulls teammate DeMar DeRozan in Sacramento, where the duo hope to bring the Kings back to the playoffs. They sit in 10th place at 24-24 as of Sunday.
As for the Bulls, the trade marks a clear sign of the start of a rebuild. Chicago has been in the midst of another middling season, but has recently tailed off, falling to 21-29. It still sits in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings, though the trade likely puts it in place to land the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, which is widely expected to be Duke star Cooper Flagg.

I think I could have been a great receiver or maybe a kicker. Colin Cowherd has announced he is moving his daily Fox Sports talk show from Los Angeles to Chicago later this year.
Cowherd, who has spent the last decade in LA after relocating from Bristol, Connecticut in 2015, dropped the big news while speaking with Fox colleague Nick Wright on the latest episode of his YouTube podcast.
‘You know I’m moving to Chicago in the spring,’ the 61-year-old told Wright. It’s official. I’ve bought a house.’
When asked if it was the first time he was revealing the news to the public, Cowherd continued: ‘I don’t think they care because when you watch me on TV, you don’t care where I’m at do ya?’
The veteran sports commentator explained that he will spend ’85 percent’ of his time in the Illinois state and host ‘The Herd’ from the Big Ten Network studios near the Chicago River so that his wife Ann, whom he married in 2010, can be closer to her sister.
‘My wife has given a lot to my career and sacrifice,’ he added. ‘I love the city, she’s got her sister there, I’ve got a lot of friends there… and I think it’s just time to be a better guy, be a better husband.
Colin Cowherd has announced he is moving his daily Fox Sports talk show from LA to Chicago
Cowherd is making the decision to be a ‘better husband’ for wife Ann, who he married in 2010
‘I’ve bounced all over the country, and there’s some advantages and disadvantages to it, but I’m so excited to live in the Midwest, to live in a great city next to cousins.
‘I’m fired up, and my son wants to go to Northwestern here in a couple years maybe.’
As well as presenting, Cowherd will also continue to own and operate his independent media business, The Volume, which hosts ‘The Draymond Green Show’ and Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ as well as his own podcast.
Last year, he claimed The Volume is now worth over $100million seven years after its launch.
Cowherd was recently declared the unlikely winner after a bombshell lawsuit was filed by an ex-Fox Sports employee against a number of the network’s biggest names.
Former hair stylist Noushin Faraji described him as ‘professional and respectful to her and their coworkers’, which came in stark contrast to several former and current colleagues accused of sexual harassment and discouraging her from speaking out.
Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd has left fans stunned with his recent announcement of a shock career move. In a heartfelt statement, the popular sports personality revealed that he will be stepping away from his broadcasting duties to focus on being a better husband.Cowherd, known for his bold opinions and fiery debates on sports topics, explained that he has realized the importance of prioritizing his family and personal relationships. “I’ve spent so much time and energy on my career that I’ve neglected the most important people in my life,” he said. “It’s time for me to make a change and be there for my wife and children in a way that I haven’t been able to before.”
The decision has taken many by surprise, as Cowherd has been a fixture in the sports media industry for years. However, his dedication to improving his personal life and fostering stronger connections with his loved ones is commendable.
Fans and colleagues alike have expressed their support for Cowherd’s decision, applauding his courage and commitment to self-improvement. While his absence will surely be felt in the sports broadcasting world, it is clear that Cowherd’s priorities are now focused on his family.
We wish Colin Cowherd all the best in this new chapter of his life and commend him for his bravery in making such a significant career move. Here’s to being a better husband and father, Colin!

Rumor: The Spurs are working on a four-team trade that would bring De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio
The trade deadline is just a week away (minus a couple of hours), and rumors are starting to swirl that the Spurs are in talks about a potential four-team trade that would ultimately bring Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio. One such source is Don Harris: the longtime sports anchor for News 4 San Antonio and someone who would certainly have a good ear within the organization.
Source: Spurs very active and perhaps close on complicated 4 team deal that would bring D’Aaron Fox to San Antonio. Stay tuned.
— Don Harris (@DonHarris4) January 31, 2025
Harris also went on to remind everyone that most trade talks and rumors don’t happen, can fall apart anytime or end up being inaccurate, so don’t think this is a done deal, but it does seem like the negotiations are at least real.
I’ve done this a long time. 98% of the time NBA trade talks, rumors, scenarios, fall apart or are different than the stuff that agents, & GMs float or leak. So anything can happen. But folks are busy. Nothing done yet as far as I know.
— Don Harris (@DonHarris4) January 31, 2025
What this deal may cost the Spurs and which other teams are involved remains to be seen, but an ESPN radio host out of Sacramento, Damien Barling, has added that it would not include Stephon Castle, which makes sense considering he is someone the Spurs seriously coveted out of last year’s draft and have high hopes for going forward. (It also goes without saying the Victor Wembanyama would not be included in any trade.)
Indications are the Spurs will not trade Stephon Castle in a De’Aaron Fox deal.
— Damien Barling (@damienbarling) January 31, 2025
This leaves players like Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Zach Collins and possibly even Chris Paul or Harrison Barnes to consider for salary-matching purposes (although the Spurs have the cap space to absorb some extra salary), and such a deal would also surely include some of the Spurs’ huge treasure trove of first round draft picks. Other factors to consider would be if Fox would be willing to sign an extension or re-sign with them in 2026 (word is he would) before considering what to give up for him.
All trade rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, and while this one is no different and complex enough that just one party backing out could bring it to an end, there’s certainly enough smoke out there to acknowledge it.
Rumor Alert: The Spurs are reportedly in talks for a blockbuster four-team trade that would land De’Aaron Fox in San Antonio!According to sources, the Spurs are looking to shake things up and add a young, dynamic point guard like Fox to their roster. The trade is said to involve multiple teams, with the Kings, Pelicans, and Pacers also potentially involved in the deal.
Fox, who is known for his lightning-quick speed and playmaking ability, would be a huge addition to the Spurs backcourt. His scoring and passing skills could provide a much-needed boost to the team’s offense.
While nothing is set in stone yet, this rumor has fans buzzing with excitement about the potential of seeing Fox in a Spurs uniform. Stay tuned for updates as the trade talks progress! #GoSpursGo #DeAaronFoxTradeRumors

Heat Notes: Fox, Adebayo, Ware, Herro
Bam Adebayo continues to serve as an ambassador for the Heat in attempts to recruit top players to Miami. Adebayo playing alongside Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard is a key reason why both players were interested in playing for the Heat before being traded elsewhere, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald notes. That’s why when Adebayo’s friend and former Kentucky teammate De’Aaron Fox was put on the trade block on Tuesday, it was safe to count the Heat among Fox’s potential destinations.
While the Spurs are said to be Fox’s preferred destination, the Heat have generally been in on most of the top stars to hit the trade market in the last few years. Adebayo discussed his relationship with Fox, noting that he was part of the point guard’s wedding party in 2022.
“That’s my man,” Adebayo said. “That’s my college roommate. Our relationship, for me, I think is very solid. I was in his wedding, I was a groomsman. That just shows the level of respect. That just shows the level of respect and obviously the bond that we have.”
Adebayo said he hasn’t spoken directly with Fox about trade possibilities and didn’t specifically address the possibility of the Heat making an offer for the Kings star.
“There are a lot of dudes who have been in organizations where in 10 years, they had seven or eight different coaches,” Adebayo said. “They’ve had teams where it’s all young dudes because they’re in the lottery all the time or dudes that have never been past the second round. They see the success here and they want to be a part of it.”
We have more from the Heat:
- The Heat are seeing success from two-big lineups featuring Adebayo and rookie Kel’el Ware, but they ran into some difficulty when playing the similarly supersized Cavaliers on Wednesday, Chiang writes in a separate story. The Cavs’ frontcourt led by Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley helped Cleveland outscore Miami 68-38 in the paint. The Heat were also outscored in second-chance points. “The second-chance points are a big problem that we need to hone in on,” Adebayo said. “But it’s not just because we got two bigs out there, you think you’re going to fix a problem. You’re trying to add pressure to a rookie that just really started getting his minutes and started to get his feet wet. So I don’t really look at it in that sense. But we do collectively as a group have to get better at rebounding.“
- The Heat are sixth in the East following Wednesday’s loss to the Cavs, just a half-game ahead of the Magic and Pistons. While Ware is still a work in progress, the Heat are trying to win now behind their young talent. “We’re a bigger frontline and this needs to be corrected,” Spoelstra said, per Chiang. “There are no excuses now. We have to be a lot more physical and purposeful on the glass. It’s that important for us to finish possessions.”
- Trade chatter surrounding Jimmy Butler could have easily derailed the Heat’s season, but they’re in playoff position due in part to Tyler Herro‘s career year, which earned him his first All-Star nod on Thursday. As William Guillory of The Athletic writes, Herro’s inclusion in trade rumors in his first few seasons in the league helped him sharpen his mindset. “Honestly, I think a lot of that stuff helped me. It might sound crazy. I think it allowed me to come in with a clear mindset,” Herro said. “There was so much talk [in the summer of 2023] that there was no way I could avoid it. I couldn’t pretend like it wasn’t there. But once I just accepted that there was nothing I could do about it, it made it a lot easier to just focus on hooping. Overall, I think it helped me become a better player.“
In today’s Heat Notes, we’re taking a closer look at some of the standout performances from the Miami Heat’s recent games.
- Duncan Robinson: The sharpshooting guard has been on fire lately, hitting 45% of his three-point attempts over the past five games. His ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots from beyond the arc has been crucial for the Heat’s offensive success.
- Bam Adebayo: The big man continues to impress with his all-around game, averaging a double-double over the past few games. Adebayo’s ability to score in the paint, rebound, and play solid defense has been a key factor in the Heat’s recent victories.
- Goran Dragic: The veteran point guard has been a steady presence for the Heat, providing scoring and playmaking off the bench. Dragic’s leadership and experience have been invaluable for the team, especially during crunch time.
- Tyler Herro: The young guard has been making a name for himself with his scoring ability and confidence on the court. Herro’s knack for hitting tough shots and creating offense has been a welcome addition to the Heat’s backcourt.
Overall, the Heat are looking strong as they head into the final stretch of the season. With key players stepping up and contributing in big ways, Miami is poised to make a deep playoff run. Stay tuned for more Heat Notes as the season progresses. #HeatNation

What I’m hearing on De’Aaron Fox as Kings navigate flurry of interest across NBA
The Athletic has live coverage of the 2025 NBA trade deadline.
It has been two days since De’Aaron Fox became the most prominent young NBA star available heading into the Feb. 6 trade deadline, with the Sacramento Kings deciding to field trade offers for the 27-year-old former All-Star whose concerns about his long-term future in Sacramento have been a driving force in this situation.
Per league sources, the Kings continue to navigate a flurry of interest that has come their way as a result of the revelation. One league source indicated that more than half the teams in the NBA have inquired. The prospect of Fox being moved, and his eight-year tenure with the Kings coming to an end, has never been more real.
As expected, league sources say those trade talks include the team that is known to be Fox’s preferred destination: the San Antonio Spurs. Yet while it remains to be seen if Fox will become Victor Wembanyama’s co-star in the next week, or if the Spurs might be able to push the negotiations into the offseason as a way to simplify their roster-building process while not losing out on Fox to another team, key factors here will have to be figured out if Fox is going to land in San Antonio.
Chief among them? The possible Stephon Castle inclusion, or potential lack thereof.
The Kings are known to covet the Spurs rookie guard who was taken fourth overall out of Connecticut in the NBA Draft last June, but there is serious skepticism in league circles that San Antonio will be willing to include him. If that’s ultimately the case, the Kings would have to determine whether there’s an acceptable pathway to doing the deal without him. That’s not the end of San Antonio’s considerations, either.
While the Spurs (20-24) have lost eight of their last 10 games while falling to 12th in the Western Conference, they’ve still made major strides from their 22-win campaign of last season. Veteran point guard Chris Paul, who signed a one-year deal worth $11 million to join them in July, has been a driving force in that progress while earning significant respect within the organization along the way. For the Spurs’ purposes, it would be easier to integrate Fox in the summer while letting the 39-year-old Paul finish this productive season in his twilight. Fox, who turned down multiple extension offers from the Kings leading up to this point, has one season left on his contract ($37 million).
GO DEEPER
De’Aaron Fox trade scenarios: Could Kings star team up with Victor Wembanyama?
Beyond the Spurs, who have the luxury of operating with the knowledge that Fox is likely to sign an extension if he comes their way, the Kings’ attention has no doubt turned to teams that must view Fox as a rental. The question there, it seems, is whether the Kings are motivated enough to truly consider offers that would likely be far less attractive than the Spurs’ because of the risk factor involved for teams that roll the dice. The mood of the team could certainly play a part here, as league sources close to several Kings players expressed frustration that this situation has become such an ill-timed distraction.
The Kings (24-23) are tied with the Golden State Warriors for 10th in the West. They lost to Philadelphia on Wednesday, falling 117-104 to a Sixers team that was without Joel Embiid and Paul George, but had won 11 of the previous 15 games under interim coach Doug Christie.
As the Kings front office continues to canvass the league for solutions to their uncertain future, with known involvement in several situations beyond Fox, this much is clear: They do not see Jimmy Butler as the answer. Per league sources, the Kings are not pursuing the disgruntled Miami star who is serving an indefinite suspension while Heat officials attempt to trade him.
GO DEEPER
NBA Trade Board 2.0: De’Aaron Fox, Jimmy Butler and more big names on market
That makes sense, too. The Fox situation is headache enough on its own. And as Fox has made clear for quite some time now, his aspirations are higher than this current Kings plight.
“I want to make sure that we’re in that position to be competing and competing at a high level for a long time, not just fighting for a playoff spot,” he told me in mid-October. “Obviously, the way that the West is going, we have to continue to get better as players and as a team, as an organization. And, I mean, I’m not saying I’m not staying or that I am staying. But I would love to be here, and I want to make sure that we’re competing at a high level.
“We don’t want to have our peak season being two years ago and just making the playoffs. We want to continue to build on that and just continue to try to change this culture. I think it’s changed already, but you want to build a championship culture, and you have to be able to do those things before you even get to the top. … I definitely feel like we have the talent to (contend). But now, it’s, ‘Can we execute that plan?’”
The plan, quite clearly, has changed.

De’Aaron Fox has been a hot topic of conversation lately as the Sacramento Kings navigate a flurry of interest from teams across the NBA. Rumors are swirling about potential trades and the future of the talented young point guard. Many sources are reporting that the Kings are fielding offers for Fox, but are hesitant to part ways with their star player. Fox has been a key piece of the Kings’ rebuilding efforts and has shown tremendous growth and potential in his time with the team.
However, with so many teams expressing interest in Fox, it’s hard to ignore the possibility of a trade. Some reports suggest that the Kings are considering their options and weighing the potential return they could get for Fox.
Fans are divided on the issue, with some hoping that the Kings will hold onto Fox and continue to build around him, while others are open to the idea of trading him for the right deal.
As the rumors continue to swirl, it’s clear that the situation is fluid and anything could happen. It will be interesting to see how the Kings ultimately decide to handle the flurry of interest in De’Aaron Fox.

Who needs clothes when you have a full beat? Not Julia Fox. The mother, author, and actress extraordinaire just went fully sans clothes while riding the New York City subway. All for a good cause, of course.
In MAC’s latest viral campaign, Fox wears nothing but a stunning glam look that featured a lavender-gray smoky eye with a shimmery inner corner, smudged liner, and white shadow along her bleached brows. Fringed lashes, bottom liner, and drawn-on bottom lashes completed the eye look, which she complemented with rosy cheeks and a beige-pink lip. Her platinum blonde hair had purple low lights and was styled in pin curls. From her shoulders down, Fox went fully nude with two red censor bars strategically placed that read “I only wear” and “MAC.”

The photo was aptly a part of the brand’s new nude lip stick campaign. According to Stylecaster, Fox wore the Mac Lip Liner in Stone and Acting Natural Lipstick. The head-turning photo shoot also starred Martha Stewart, Beabadoobee, Odell Beckham Jr., and Tiffany Pollard. In a video for the campaign, Fox sits in a bench on a subway platform while shaking a MAC Magic Eight Ball. “Do I hate men,” she starts. “I don’t even need to ask the Eight ball that.”
She went on to ask the fortune-telling toy another question. “Will I ever leak my nudes or launch an OF [Only Fans] page?” she asked. “Come on, bitch. You know the answer.” The Eight Ball then answered “Most likely,” to which she responded, “Knows me so well! Is this rigged?”
The star is no stranger to bold beauty looks or risqué outfits. Just last week, Fox appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live! in a leather corset, skinny arched brows, and the biggest hair bow, ever.

Back in December, Fox wore a chainmail gown with a butt cutout to the 2024 NGV Gala in Australia. She paired the skin-baring look with wavy thigh-length silver hair and red lace-up platforms.
