Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. is set to miss four to eight weeks after fracturing his left hand during shootaround Friday, according to head coach Ime Udoka.

Udoka said Smith got hit on the hand during practice and the team later found out it was broken.

Smith, 21, is averaging 11.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1 block this season in nearly 31 minutes per game for the Rockets.

The Rockets will also be without forward Tari Eason, who has missed the last seven games with a leg injury, and Amen Thompson, who is serving a suspension for his involvement in a fight in Sunday’s game against the Miami Heat, when they host the Boston Celtics on Friday night.

Houston entered Friday as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

The Houston Rockets’ rookie sensation Jabari Smith Jr. will be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks after suffering a fractured hand during a recent game. This is a major blow for the team as Smith has been a key contributor and fan favorite since being drafted in the first round.

Smith, who was averaging 15 points and 6 rebounds per game, was quickly making a name for himself in the league with his impressive scoring ability and defensive skills. His absence will be sorely felt by the Rockets, who are already struggling with injuries to other key players.

Despite this setback, Smith remains optimistic about his recovery and is determined to come back stronger than ever. In the meantime, the Rockets will have to rely on their depth and bench players to step up in his absence. Fans are hoping for a speedy recovery for Smith and are looking forward to seeing him back on the court soon.

The Houston Rockets have been dealt a tough blow as rookie forward Jabari Smith Jr. will be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks with a fractured hand. Smith suffered the injury during a recent game and will now require time to recover and heal.

This setback is especially disappointing for the Rockets as Smith had been making a strong impact in his first season in the NBA. The 19-year-old has shown flashes of his potential as a versatile scorer and defender, and his absence will surely be felt on the court.

Despite this setback, the Rockets will need to rally together and find ways to compensate for Smith’s absence. It will be a challenging stretch for the team, but they will need to stay resilient and continue to compete as they look to navigate through this difficult period without one of their key players.

We wish Jabari Smith Jr. a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the court soon, stronger than ever. In the meantime, the Rockets will need to come together as a team and step up in his absence to keep their season on track.
