  • Savannah Guthrie’s ‘frosty’ moment with Today co-host leads to ‘guilty’ confession

Savannah Guthrie opened Today on Thursday alongside Craig Melvin from the comfort of Studio 1A, but it wasn’t long before she was squirming in her seat.

The hosts were at the helm of the NBC show as they read the headlines before turning to a colleague who was in a far less cozy environment.

Savannah and Craig winced as they introduced Dylan Dreyer who was braving the freezing cold weather on the plaza in New York.

She was wrapped up against the wintery front which was sweeping across the midwest and east coast of America.

Dylan confirmed: “It’s worse than it looks,” before detailing the nasty weather report.

Savannah couldn’t help but admit she felt “guilt” over Dylan being outside and urged her to come in for a cup of hot chocolate.

Dylan is no stranger to putting herself in extreme weather conditions in her role as a meteorologist.

She previously said: “I’m 100 percent committed to my job and I love it,” and she adores traveling around the globe for exciting, and sometimes dangerous, assignments.

But one thing she isn’t a fan of is leaving her family, including her husband, Brian Fichera, and their three boys, Rusty, Ollie and Calvin.

She loves being a mom despite the fact before they had children, she and Brian weren’t sure they wanted to become parents.

“We didn’t think we wanted kids at all,” she told HELLO! in an exclusive interview. “We were living in New York City, traveling whenever we wanted to, doing whatever we wanted, and then suddenly it sort of came to us both.

We were like ‘let’s have kids’. Both of us obviously love it.”

As for if she would try for a girl with her husband, Dylan quipped that with her track record, it was likely she would welcome another boy instead. “Don’t think Brian and I haven’t had that conversation,” Dylan told TODAY.com. “But it’s like, no, we are so done. I know my luck, and it would be a fourth boy!”

Not to mention where she would put the new addition to the family.

“I’ve got all three kids in one room,” Dylan quipped. “Four just seems crazy to me.”

The number three also holds a special place in both Dylan and Brian’s hearts as she explained to HELLO!: “When we decided to have children, I used to always want three. I grew up with two brothers, my husband is one of three. Three just feels right for us now.”

Savannah Guthrie’s ‘frosty’ moment with Today co-host leads to ‘guilty’ confession

During a recent episode of the Today show, co-host Savannah Guthrie had a tense exchange with her fellow co-host, Hoda Kotb, that left viewers feeling a bit uneasy. The atmosphere between the two seemed frosty, with Guthrie appearing visibly frustrated with Kotb.

However, what seemed like a simple disagreement quickly turned into a moment of truth, as Guthrie finally broke her silence and confessed that she was feeling guilty about something that had been weighing on her mind for quite some time.

As Guthrie opened up about her feelings, the tension between the two co-hosts melted away, and a sense of understanding and empathy filled the studio. Kotb, being the supportive friend that she is, listened attentively and offered words of comfort to Guthrie.

The ‘frosty’ moment between Guthrie and Kotb may have been uncomfortable to watch, but it ultimately led to a moment of vulnerability and honesty that strengthened their bond as co-hosts and friends.

In the end, Guthrie’s ‘guilty’ confession served as a reminder that it’s okay to acknowledge our feelings and share them with others, even if it means facing some awkward moments along the way.

  • Winter Storm Enzo was a frosty flop for UF students

As Winter Storm Enzo passed over North Florida late Tuesday night, Vanessa Hervie set out from Gainesville on a last-minute road trip in hopes of witnessing a rare occurrence in the Sunshine State: snowfall. Hervie, a 21-year-old UF chemistry junior, and nine of her friends trekked 30 miles north to Fort White, where it had been forecasted to snow.

But according to Hervie, all Enzo left behind was “a little bit of ice and crunchiness.”

“It was like somebody sprinkled their snow cone around,” Hervie said.

Enzo had blanketed parts of the Florida Panhandle in up to two inches of snow throughout Tuesday and Wednesday. In Tallahassee — the home of UF’s bitter rival, the Florida State Seminoles — students shared videos to social media depicting miniature snowmen, snowball fights and students sledding through snow-filled streets.

About 32 miles south of Fort White in Gainesville, UF closed campus and canceled classes in anticipation of the storm. The National Weather Service predicted a brief snowfall around 6 a.m Wednesday. Students expressed mixed feelings on the anonymous messaging app Yik Yak — some planned to rise early for the rare event, while others said they would sleep right through it.

The storm brought temperatures in the 30s, stints of freezing rain and wind gusts up to 26 mph to Gainesville early Wednesday morning — but to many Gators’ disappointment, not snow. As sunrise approached, the heavy overnight precipitation began to sputter out just as temperatures dropped to freezing.

“There was nothing there,” said Kira Tuper, a 19-year-old UF exploratory freshman who woke up at 6 a.m. in hopes of seeing snow.

UF reopened campus by 12:30 p.m. and students like Fatima Khan, a 21-year-old political science junior, had to trudge to class in 36-degree weather, with a wind chill of 29 degrees.

“I don’t want to go,” Khan said, pointing to her shivering hands. “I wasn’t ready for this.”

The National Weather Service issued freeze watches from Tuesday morning to Wednesday afternoon, bringing the total freeze advisories for Alachua County to 18 for January with over a week left in the month.

The area hasn’t seen so many January freeze warnings since Florida’s 2010 cold stun event. Daily temperatures throughout the month have also been an average of six degrees colder per day compared to Gainesville’s normal.

The unusually cold weather culminated with Enzo, when air temperature briefly dipped below freezing point between 8 and 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

During that brief period, air temperature hit a low of just under 31 degrees, one degree below freezing, according to National Weather Service reports.

However, wind chill throughout the storm made the weather feel much colder for Gainesville residents, with “feels like” temperatures dipping to a low of 21 degrees that morning and remaining in the 20s throughout the day Wednesday.

The National Weather Service forecasts that temperatures will hover between the low 30s and high 50s for the rest of the week, with scattered rain storms through Thursday.

“It’s not a normal thing that Florida is cold like that,” said AJ Andrianirina, an 18-year-old UF computer science freshman originally from Madagascar. “I was expecting to have some warmer weather here.”

Zoey Thomas and Pristine Thai contributed to this report.

Winter Storm Enzo swept through the University of Florida campus, causing havoc and disruption for students. Despite initial forecasts predicting a significant snowfall, the storm turned out to be a frosty flop, leaving students disappointed and underwhelmed.

Many students had eagerly anticipated the arrival of Winter Storm Enzo, hoping for a rare snow day and a chance to play in the winter wonderland. However, the storm brought only a light dusting of snow and icy conditions, making it difficult for students to navigate the campus safely.

In the end, Winter Storm Enzo was more of a nuisance than a winter wonderland for UF students. Classes were not canceled, and students were left to trudge through the slush and ice to get to their lectures and exams.

While Winter Storm Enzo may not have lived up to expectations, students are hopeful that future snowstorms will bring more significant snowfall and a true winter experience. Until then, they will have to make do with the frosty flop that was Winter Storm Enzo.

    Weather ForecastSeattle

As Seattle braces for a frigid and frosty week ahead, it’s time to break out the heavy coats, gloves, and scarves. The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures to plummet into the low 30s, with the possibility of snow showers in the forecast.

With icy conditions expected on the roads, it’s important to take precautions while driving and allow for extra travel time. Make sure to check your car’s tires, brakes, and windshield wipers to ensure they are in good working condition.

For those who are sensitive to the cold, be sure to layer up and stay indoors as much as possible. Keep your home warm by checking your heating system and sealing any drafts around windows and doors.

Don’t forget about your furry friends either – make sure they have a warm place to sleep and access to fresh water at all times.

Stay safe and stay warm, Seattle! Winter is definitely here.
