Good grief, Forest are 5-0 up and Chris Wood has a hat-trick. After their surprise 5-0 reverse to Bournemouth last week, this is quite the statement from Nuno’s men. Back in the title race?

Elsewhere in the early kick-offs, Josh Sargent’s goal has Norwich 1-0 up at 10-man Watford, the 10 men of Bristol City have hit back to level at Oxford, while it’s goalless between bottom club Plymouth and Tony Mowbray’s West Brom.

The official team news is about to drop around the grounds at 1.45pm a la the new way of doings things. I’ll sum it all up in one handy post. FPL managers of the world brace yourselves.

This week’s episode of I Can’t Believe Chris Wood Is This Good is an absolute corker:

    Preamble

Greetings all. Another weekend arrives, which means another Saturday chock-full of prime footie action. And of course another clockwatch, always the most enjoyable (and hectic) of tasks for run-of-the-mill journos like myself.

There’s a serious test of Liverpool’s title credentials as they meet in-form, on-fire, on-song Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium; Newcastle meet Fulham in a tantalising contest on the banks of the Tyne; while there’s a big clash at Goodison Park as royal blue strugglers Everton host royal blue strugglers Leicester to see … who will win that.

Away from the Premier League, there’s a full programme in the second, third and fourth tiers, a smattering of Scottish Premiership action and the fifth round of the FA Trophy to boot. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also among the Bundesliga sides taking to das Feld at around 2.30pm UK time.

Do feel free to drop me an email with your thoughts on any of today’s football. It’s going to move!

  • Nottingham Forest are winless in their last three Premier League meetings with Brighton (D1 L2), having been unbeaten in their previous eight top-flight matches against the Seagulls (W6 D2).

  • Brighton won this exact fixture 3-2 last season – they’ve never before won consecutive away league games against Nottingham Forest.

  • Nottingham Forest’s eight game unbeaten run came to an end last time out at Bournemouth, conceding more goals in that defeat (5) as they did in their previous seven Premier League games combined (4). Only once previously this season have they lost consecutive league matches, doing so in November against Newcastle and Arsenal.

  • Brighton’s six game unbeaten run was ended last time out at home to Everton. The Seagulls have won just two of their last 11 Premier League games (D6 L3) and could lose consecutive matches for the first time since ending last season with back-to-back defeats.

  • Nottingham Forest have won six of their last eight Premier League home games (D1 L1), with five of those six victories coming by a one goal margin. This is just the second time they are kicking off at 12:30 on a Saturday since their return to the Premier League, beating Liverpool 1-0 at the City Ground in October 2022 in their only previous game.

  • Brighton have scored the opening goal in 10 of their 12 Premier League away games this season (including in each of their last five), more than any other side. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have gone 1-0 up in 18 of their 23 league games overall this term, the most in the division.

  • Only Erling Haaland (17), Alexander Isak (16) and Mohamed Salah (14) have scored more non penalty goals in the Premier League this season than Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood (12). Wood has scored more goals against Brighton (9) than he has against any other side in his English league career.

  • Brighton’s João Pedro has six goal involvements in his last eight away appearances in the Premier League (2 goals, 4 assists), also netting a brace at the City Ground back in November 2023.

  • The average distance of Nottingham Forest’s goal kicks in the Premier League this season has been 43.7 metres, the highest of any side, while 121 of those have ended in the attacking half, 26 more than any other team. By contrast, only three sides have taken goal kicks at a shorter average distance than Brighton this campaign (23.4 metres).

  • Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina has taken 35 throw-ins that have ended in the opposition’s penalty area in the Premier League this season, seven more than any other player. In total, Forest have taken 56 throws that end in the opposition box, with only Brentford doing so more often (60).

After a breathtaking comeback win in the Europa League on Thursday, Manchester United will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins as they face Fulham in the EPL.

How to watch the Premier League 2024-25 season from anywhere with a VPN

If you find yourself unable to view EPL matches locally, you may need a different way to watch the games — that’s where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, and it’s also a great idea if you’re traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you’re able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors’ Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you’re streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It’s normally $13 a month, but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $100 you’ll get three months free and save 49%. That’s the equivalent of $6.67 a month.

Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Unusually for a Sunday fixture, today’s match at Craven Cottage is exclusive to TNT Sports — with the game showing on its TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports 1 HD channels, as well as TNT Sports Ultimate in 4K.

    TNT Sports

TNT Sports is offering a sizable 52 matches exclusively live this season to viewers in the UK. You can access TNT Sports via Sky Q as a TV package, as well as the option of streaming online. It costs £31 either way and comes in a package that includes the Discovery Plus library of documentary content.

Livestream Fulham vs. Man United in Canada

If you want to stream this EPL game live in Canada, you’ll need to subscribe to Fubo Canada. The service has exclusive rights to every Premier League fixture once again this season.

    Fubo

Fubo is the go-to destination for Canadians looking to watch the EPL this season, with exclusive streaming rights to every match. It costs CA$30 a month, though you can save some cash by paying quarterly or annually.

Livestream Fulham vs. Man United in Australia

Football fans down under can watch EPL matches live on streaming service Optus Sport, which is showing every single Premier League fixture of the 2024-25 season live in Australia.

    Optus

With exclusive rights to stream all EPL matches live this season, as well as German Bundesliga and Spanish La Liga games, streaming service Optus Sport is a particularly big draw for Aussie soccer fans.

If you’re already an Optus network customer, you can bag Optus Sport for a reduced price, with discounts bringing the price down to as low as AU$7 a month. If you’re not, a standalone monthly subscription to the service starts at AU$25.

Quick tips for streaming the Premier League using a VPN

    • With four variables at play — your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN — your experience and success when streaming EPL matches may vary.
    • If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “search for city or country” option.
    • If you’re having trouble getting the game after you’ve turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
    • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
    • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you’re using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend Brave.

Jamie Jackson on Man Utd’s woes

When seriously struggling, you do not need to send your best forward into exile, as Marcus Rashford has been for the past six weeks. This problem seems self-inflicted by Ruben Amorim. Because unless a Ratcliffe tap on the shoulder informed of the need to offload the forward’s £365k-a-week salary, how bad do the “training reasons” have to be (Amorim’s stated reason) to exclude the 27-year-old from United’s past 10 outings?

    Team news

Fulham (4-2-3-1) Leno; Castagne, Anderson, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.
Substitutes: Benda, Diop, Cuenca, Cairney, Andreas, Reed, Traore, Muniz.

Manchester United (3-4-2-1) Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dalot; Amad, Garnacho; Hojlund.
Substitutes: Bayindir, Lindelof, Malacia, Yoro, Collyer, Casemiro, Eriksen, Mainoo, ZIrkzee.

    Referee Anthony Taylor.

Rob Draper on Ruben Amorim’s first coaching crisis

“He is a magician,” says Carlos Pires, the sporting director at Casa Pia who, at some risk to himself, appointed a man with no coaching experience to his first job in 2018. “Everything he touches turns to gold. I told him: ‘In 10 years’ time, whether you are at Manchester United or coaching in the Lisbon leagues, you can tell people I’m the crazy guy who gave you the opportunity.’ And yes, I did use Manchester United as the example, even back then.”

    Preamble

Hello and welcome to live coverage of Fulham v Manchester United at Craven Cottage. Ruben Amorim’s suggestion that his team is the worst in Manchester United’s history has caused quite a stir. And while his comments showed a distressing ignorance of the class of 1989-90, you can understand why he felt it necessary to take the nuclear option. It’s almost 12 years since Sir Alex Ferguson retired and United are further away from success than ever.

Fulham are the antithesis of United – stable, understated, easy on the eye and with a rhythm that comes from working with the same coach for three and a half years.

This United team, a bit like the 1989-90 side, look happier away from home. United have an outstanding recent record at Craven Cottage, where they have won their last seven games. On current form, it’ll be a surprise if that continues.

    Kick off 7pm.

As the highly anticipated match between Fulham and Manchester United kicks off, fans around the world are glued to their screens to witness the action unfold. Both teams are eager to secure a victory and climb up the Premier League standings.

Fulham, currently fighting to avoid relegation, will be putting up a tough fight against Manchester United, who are looking to solidify their position in the top four. With talented players on both sides, the game promises to be an exciting and intense battle.

  • Fulham vs Man Utd LIVE: Premier League preview, score & updates

Man Utd’s transfer window conundrumpublished at 18:04 Greenwich Mean Time

Fulham v Man Utd (19:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport’s chief football news reporter

There is a little bit of mixed messaging around Manchester United’s plans for the remainder of the current window which makes it difficult to assess what will happen over the next eight days.

Privately, United have been keen to clarify they have no need to sell anyone before 30 June to ensure they don’t breach the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

There is also a feeling – no more than that – any additions to Ruben Amorim’s squad before the window closes on 3 February will be loans.

However, there has also been an admission a bid was lodged with Italian club Lecce for their promising Denmark full-back Patrick Dorgu, which was turned down.

What has not been clarified is if United bought Dorgu, or anyone else for that matter, whether they would have to sell, which brings us to Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentina winger has been the subject of widespread speculation linking him with Napoli and Chelsea, with Christopher Nkunku potential moving to Old Trafford.

In PSR terms, that would offer United some much-needed flexibility.

But as they pack £81.3m Antony off on loan to Real Betis for the remainder of the season, the optics around selling Garnacho would be terrible.

To add to the confusion, United sources say they would only loan Nkunku at best, and there have been no talks.

And we have not even mentioned Marcus Rashford yet.

It doesn’t appear Ruben Amorim has any use for him even if Rashford is saying he would be happy to stay.

Fulham vs Man Utd LIVE: Premier League preview, score & updates

In today’s highly anticipated Premier League match, Fulham will be facing off against Manchester United at Craven Cottage. Both teams are coming off strong performances in their previous matches and will be looking to secure three points in this crucial fixture.

Fulham has been in decent form recently, with key players like Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ademola Lookman leading the charge. They will be looking to continue their solid performances and secure a victory against a tough Manchester United side.

On the other hand, Manchester United have been in impressive form this season, with Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Edinson Cavani leading the way. They will be looking to maintain their winning streak and put pressure on league leaders Manchester City.

This match promises to be an exciting and closely contested affair, with both teams having a lot to play for. Stay tuned for live updates and the final score of Fulham vs Manchester United in this crucial Premier League clash.

  • Premier League Predictions, odds and best bets: West Ham to beat Aston Villa, favourites Fulham to defeat Man Utd | Football News

Our betting expert Jones Knows provides his insight as Aston Villa look vulnerable with a huge Champions League night on the horizon.

Crystal Palace vs Brentford, Sunday 2pm, live on Sky Sports

    Crystal Palace vs Brentford

Over the last five seasons, Crystal Palace have spent 439 days in either 12th or 13th place in the Premier League.

They are the definition of mid-table obscurity.

However, this team can dream a little higher than that under Oliver Glasner.

Palace have won 20 points since the November international break – only Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Liverpool and Chelsea have won more. Their structure without the ball is really impressive and hard to create chances against – and that is being drawn out in their defensive data. Palace are offering up just 1.15 expected goals per game in their last 11 Premier League games – that per-90 record is only bettered by Liverpool and Arsenal.

    Sunday 26th January 1:00pm

    Kick off 2:00pm

Meanwhile, Brentford have lost 17 of their last 24 Premier League away games, beating only Southampton, Luton, Bournemouth and Wolves on the road.

Palace on offer at 21/20 with Sky Bet for the win is a tasty proposition.

SCORE PREDICTION: 2-0 | JONES KNOWS’ BEST BET: Crystal Palace to win (21/20 with Sky Bet)

    Tottenham vs Leicester, Sunday 2pm

Tottenham are bonkers. They make my brain hurt.

To suffer 12 defeats in 22 Premier League games but still to have beaten Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Aston Villa this season is borderline impossible to analyse. They sit 15th in the Premier League but have a +10 goal difference.

West Ham sit above them but have a -16 goal difference – someone make it make sense?

Leicester could be a big price here at 9/2 with Sky Bet but I don’t trust Ruud van Nistelrooy to come up with the right plan to beat Spurs.

The Foxes have conceded two or more goals in their last nine games to an average of 2.44 goals conceded per game as their style of football leaves their centre-backs woefully exposed.

although I don’t trust Spurs, I do have complete trust in Dejan Kulusevski, He’s got seven goals in his last 12 appearances, meaning the 2/1 with Sky Bet of him scoring has a great chance of landing.

    SCORE PREDICTION: 3-1

Aston Villa vs West Ham, Sunday 4.30pm, live on Sky Sports

    Aston VIlla vs West Ham

You just know even during this game Unai Emery will be on the touchline thinking how to beat Celtic on Wednesday night.

His mind will wander. European football takes prominence, that’s clear from his career in management.

    Kudus

This could be a half-baked version of Aston Villa and that’s a dangerous game to play against any opposition in the Premier League. We’ve seen iffy results and performances from Villa before a big Champions League night. The 2-2 with Ipswich, the 4-1 defeat at Spurs and they made hard work of beating Southampton 1-0 at home.

    Sunday 26th January 4:00pm

    Kick off 4:30pm

This makes their win price of 1/2 with Sky Bet look very short indeed, especially looking at the recent meeting between the two at Villa Park in the FA Cup where West Ham were the better side for large periods.

Yes, they have injuries but I’ve got hope that a week on the training pitch under the talented Graham Potter can spark a bit of improvement. If so, the 6/4 on West Ham on the double chance, to avoid defeat, could be a massive price.

SCORE PREDICTION: 1-2 | JONES KNOWS’ BEST BET: West Ham double chance (6/4 with Sky Bet)

Fulham vs Manchester United, Sunday 7pm

Fulham going off clear favourites to beat Manchester United in the Premier League is a little mind blowing to football fans like me who have lived through the dominance of the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Those days are long gone now and such has been their poor recruitment in recent years, where they’ve blown over £160m on Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee and Antony, the chance of a successful rebuild with the purse strings now tightened looks slim.

Fulham are the more cohesive, better coached, organised and confident team, playing some great stuff this season under the criminally underrated Marco Silva.

It’s why they are as short as 5/4 with Sky Bet for maximum points. A price many will snap up – and I can totally see why.

    SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1

Premier League Predictions, odds and best bets: West Ham to beat Aston Villa, favourites Fulham to defeat Man Utd

As the Premier League season heats up, fans and bettors alike are eagerly anticipating some exciting matchups this weekend. One of the standout fixtures sees West Ham take on Aston Villa, with the Hammers looking to continue their impressive form and secure a victory at home.

West Ham are currently sitting in fourth place in the table, with a strong defensive record and an attacking lineup led by the likes of Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma. Aston Villa, on the other hand, have struggled in recent weeks and will be looking to bounce back with a win.

The odds for this match are in favor of West Ham, with the Hammers priced as favorites to come out on top. With their strong form and home advantage, it’s easy to see why they are the bookies’ pick for this game.

In another exciting matchup, Fulham will be facing off against Manchester United. Despite being the underdogs, Fulham have been playing some impressive football recently and will be looking to cause an upset against the Red Devils.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have been inconsistent in recent weeks and will need to be at their best to secure a win against Fulham. The odds are in favor of United, but with Fulham’s recent form, this match could go either way.

For those looking to place a bet on these matches, our best bet would be to back West Ham to beat Aston Villa and Fulham to defeat Manchester United. With the odds in their favor and strong performances in recent weeks, both teams have a good chance of coming out on top in their respective matchups.

As always, remember to gamble responsibly and only bet what you can afford to lose. Good luck to all the teams and bettors this weekend!

  • Preview: Leicester City vs. Fulham – prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday’s Premier League clash between Leicester City and Fulham, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Relegation-threatened Leicester City welcome European hopefuls Fulham to the King Power Stadium for a Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Foxes and the Cottagers butt heads for the first time since the end of August when the latter secured a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage.

    Match preview

Since winning his opening Premier League game as Leicester head coach at the beginning of December, Ruud van Nistelrooy has failed to lead his new team to victory in any of their last seven top-flight matches, including six straight defeats in which they have conceded at least two goals.

Foxes supporters were left frustrated on Wednesday night as they watched their side suffer their third consecutive home defeat without scoring, registering just four of their 21 shots on target in a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace.

Only once have Leicester endured a longer losing run in the Premier League than their current six-game streak – losing eight matches in a row between March and April 2001 under former boss Peter Taylor.

Sitting 19th in the Premier League table, last season’s Championship winners are in danger of dropping straight back down to the second tier, but they are only two points adrift of safety and Van Nistelrooy knows that a quick upturn in form could see them climb the table.

Leicester have picked up nine of their 14 Premier League points at the King Power Stadium this season, but they head into this weekend’s contest having lost their last two home meetings with Fulham, including their most recent (1-0) in January 2023.

Fulham’s nine-game unbeaten run across all competitions and eight-game unbeaten Premier League run – their longest in the division for almost two decades – came to an end on Tuesday night, as they were beaten 3-2 by Graham Potter‘s West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Antonee Robinson registered his eighth and ninth assists of the season as he set up Alex Iwobi‘s two second-half goals, the second of those netted 12 minutes from time set up a nervy finish for the hosts. However, Fulham were unable to find a late equaliser and were eventually condemned to their first defeat since November last year.

Marco Silva insisted after the match that “the better team lost” in East London and “the result could have been completely different if we were clinical”. Nevertheless, Fulham now sit 10th in the table and are only five points behind the top seven as well as seven points behind fifth spot.

Fulham have had no issues with scoring on the road in recent weeks, as they have netted in each of their last nine Premier League away matches – their longest scoring streak away from home in the division.

The Cottagers can be confident of success on Saturday, as they have won six of their 11 Premier League meetings with Leicester (D3 L2); against no other team they have played at least 10 times in the division and boast a higher win rate (55%, also against Bolton Wanderers).

    Team News

Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen on December 14, 2024© Imago

Leicester are still having to cope without injured quartet Mads Hermansen (groin), Wilfred Ndidi (hamstring), Abdul Fatawu (knee) and Ricardo Pereira (muscle).

Woyo Coulibaly joined the Foxes from Parma on Wednesday, and although the right-back is yet to train with his new teammates, he could be available for selection against Fulham, provided that the necessary paperwork on his transfer has been completed.

Odsonne Edouard was ineligible to play against his parent club Crystal Palace, but the forward is available to return to Van Nistelrooy’s squad this weekend and is one of five attackers along with Jordan Ayew, Patson Daka, Kasey McAteer and Bobby De Cordova-Reid who will push for a recall.

As for Fulham, right-back Kenny Tete and winger Reiss Nelson both remain sidelined as they continue to recover from respective knee and thigh injuries.

However, Sander Berge is in contention to feature in midfield ahead of either Andreas Pereira or Sasa Lukic after recovering from an ankle injury that forced him to miss the last five games.

Silva is unlikely to make too many changes, if any, to his starting lineup, with a front four of Iwobi, Emile Smith Rowe, Harry Wilson and central striker Raul Jimenez set to remain intact.

    Leicester City possible starting lineup:
Stolarczyk; Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Winks, Soumare; Ayew, Buonanotte, McAteer; Vardy

    Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Pereira, Lukic; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez

    SM words green background

We say: Leicester City 1-3 Fulham

The fact that Fulham have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 Premier League games should give Leicester confidence of ending their three-game goal drought on home soil this weekend.

However, their defensive frailties remain a concern and we are backing the Cottagers, who boast a strong head-to-head record against the Foxes, to outscore their opponents en route to collecting all three points at the King Power.

Leicester City will take on Fulham in a highly anticipated match this weekend. Both teams will be looking to secure three points and improve their position in the Premier League table.

    Prediction:

Leicester City will be the favorites heading into this match, as they currently sit in the top four of the league standings. With a strong attacking lineup including the likes of Jamie Vardy and James Maddison, they will be looking to dominate the game and secure a comfortable victory.

Fulham, on the other hand, have been struggling this season and find themselves near the bottom of the table. They will need to put in a solid defensive performance and take their chances in front of goal if they are to come away with a positive result.

    Team News:

Leicester City will be without the services of Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Soyuncu due to injury, but they will still have a strong squad to choose from. Manager Brendan Rodgers will likely stick with his trusted lineup and look to continue their impressive form.

Fulham will also have some injury concerns, with Kenny Tete and Terence Kongolo ruled out of the match. Manager Scott Parker will need to make some tactical adjustments to try and get a result against a tough Leicester side.

    Lineups:

Leicester City: Schmeichel, Castagne, Evans, Fofana, Justin, Ndidi, Tielemans, Barnes, Maddison, Under, Vardy

Fulham: Areola, Aina, Andersen, Adarabioyo, Robinson, Reed, Anguissa, Loftus-Cheek, Cavaleiro, Lookman, Mitrovic

  • Sutton’s predictions: Leicester v Fulham

    Sutton's predictions graphic

    [BBC]

‘Foxes never quit’ is Leicester’s motto, but it is starting to look like they have done.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side are on a run of six straight league defeats and are in desperate trouble.

I was too generous to them in my prediction before they played Crystal Palace on Wednesday because I thought they would score, but Palace won that one very comfortably in the end.

It’s not a surprise to see Leicester struggling now because I think it’s a case where they have been a mess all season.

There are people out there who will think this has been coming, because they sacked Steve Cooper and then seemed to give Van Nistelrooy the job off the back of two wins against them with Manchester United.

He was a great player who had his managerial apprenticeship with PSV, and I admired the job he did with United too, so this situation is not on him – he just inherited this team.

It is always a struggle for promoted teams, but there seemed to be a different expectation from Leicester fans because of their recent history, and a belief they would stay up easily then kick on.

The Premier League does not work like that, and they have found that out.

Fulham are not on a great run either, although they come into this game off the back of a lot of draws rather than defeats.

I thought Marco Silva’s side deserved something out of their defeat to West Ham on Tuesday, and they won’t slip up again – I can see Leicester scoring, because they are due a goal, but Fulham will have too much quality for them.

    Sutton’s prediction: 1-2

As a football analyst, I am here to give you my predictions for the upcoming match between Leicester City and Fulham.

Leicester City has been in impressive form this season, sitting comfortably in the top half of the table. Their attacking prowess, led by the likes of Jamie Vardy and James Maddison, has been a key factor in their success. I expect them to continue their fine form and secure a victory against Fulham.

On the other hand, Fulham has struggled this season and are currently fighting to avoid relegation. Despite their best efforts, I believe they will struggle against Leicester’s strong defense and ultimately fall short in this match.

My prediction: Leicester City will come out on top with a 2-0 victory over Fulham. Stay tuned to see if my prediction comes true!

  • Leicester City vs Fulham: Premier League preview, team news, stats & head-to-head

  • Leicester have won just one of their five Premier League home games against Fulham (D1 L3), beating them 3-1 in March 2019 in Brendan Rodgers’ first home game in charge.

  • Fulham have won six of their 11 Premier League games against Leicester (D3 L2) – of sides they’ve faced 10+ times in the competition, against no other do they have a higher win rate (55%, also against Bolton).

  • This is the 12th Premier League meeting between Leicester and Fulham – it is the most played fixture in the competition where at least one of the sides was newly promoted to the division in every single meeting.

  • Leicester City have lost their last six Premier League matches, only once having a longer losing run in the competition, losing eight in a row in March and April 2001 under Peter Taylor.

  • Having failed to score in their first Premier League away game this season (0-1 vs Manchester United), Fulham have now scored in each of their last nine on the road, their longest away scoring streak in the competition.

  • Fulham have scored exactly twice in each of their last four Premier League games, but have failed to win any of the last three (D2 L1). Only twice in Premier League history has a side scored multiple goals in four consecutive games but failed to win any of them – Derby County (5 in September 2000) and West Ham (4 in April 2016).

  • Leicester have lost six of their eight Premier League games under Ruud van Nistelrooy (W1 D1), with the Dutchman already losing more league games with the Foxes than he did with PSV in the Eredivisie in 2022-23 (W23 D6 L5).

  • Fulham’s Alex Iwobi has scored in his last two Premier League appearances against Leicester, including the winner in this season’s reverse fixture in August. The Nigerian has also either scored (1) or assisted (2) a goal in each of his last three games at the King Power Stadium.

  • Jamie Vardy scored in his first two Premier League appearances for Leicester under Ruud van Nistelrooy but has since gone five without a goal, having 18 shots with an xG value of 2.6 without finding the net.

  • Antonee Robinson has provided more assists than any other defender in the Premier League this season (9). The only Fulham player to reach double figures for assists in a single Premier League campaign is Steed Malbranque in 2003-04 (10).

  • Leicester City will face off against Fulham in a highly anticipated Premier League match this weekend. Both teams will be looking to secure a crucial victory as they aim to climb up the league table.

    Team News:
Leicester City will be without the services of their star striker Jamie Vardy, who is sidelined with a hip injury. However, they will be boosted by the return of midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who is set to make his comeback from a hamstring injury. Fulham, on the other hand, will be without the services of midfielder Tom Cairney and defender Kenny Tete, who are both nursing injuries.

    Stats:
Leicester City have had a solid start to the season, sitting comfortably in the top half of the table. They have scored 25 goals in 19 matches, with midfielder James Maddison leading the way with 6 goals and 4 assists. Fulham, on the other hand, have struggled this season and find themselves in the relegation zone. They have scored just 15 goals in 19 matches, with striker Ivan Cavaleiro leading the way with 3 goals and 2 assists.

    Head-to-Head:
Leicester City have a strong record against Fulham in recent years, winning 3 out of their last 4 meetings. The last time these two teams met, Leicester City secured a 2-0 victory at Craven Cottage. Fulham will be looking to turn the tables this time around and secure a crucial win to boost their survival hopes.

Overall, this promises to be an exciting match with both teams eager to secure all three points. Make sure to tune in and catch all the action as Leicester City take on Fulham in this Premier League showdown.

  • Chelsea 1-2 Fulham: Rodrigo Muniz scores injury-time winner as visitors claim late comeback win

Chelsea 1-2 Fulham: Rodrigo Muniz scores injury-time winner as visitors claim late comeback win

Marco Silva’s superb work at Fulham has been illustrated by the manner in which they earned fully deserved draws at home to Arsenal and away at Liverpool in recent weeks.

Fulham are a potent combination of quality, energy and relentless ambition and that was all on show here as they were undaunted by going behind to Palmer’s superb early strike.

It was no surprise when Wilson equalised, Fulham then preying on Chelsea’s growing anxiety to snatch that late winner from Muniz.

Silva raced down the touchline to celebrate with his backroom staff, the Portuguese manager’s positive attitude and coaching acumen central to this superb performance.

Fulham keeper Leno played his part, with crucial saves from Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez either side of the break – as well as keeping Chelsea out in a frantic late goalmouth scramble.

This was no Fulham rearguard action, however.

Chelsea keeper Sanchez plunged bravely at the feet of Antonee Robinson as the Fulham left-back looked poised to equalise.

Fulham did not have long to wait for Wilson’s equaliser, at the Wales midfielder made the sort of late impact he has perfected this season as exemplified with two goals in the similar late turnaround win against Brentford at Craven Cottage.

Muniz’s winner sparked ecstatic scenes among Fulham’s players and supporters – and no-one can begrudge them the celebration on this evidence.

In a thrilling London derby, Fulham pulled off a stunning late comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Rodrigo Muniz was the hero for the visitors, scoring an injury-time winner to seal all three points.

The match started off with Chelsea dominating possession and creating several chances, but it was Fulham who took the lead against the run of play in the 25th minute through Ivan Cavaleiro. The visitors defended resolutely and held onto their lead going into the halftime break.

Chelsea came out firing in the second half and finally found the equalizer in the 75th minute thanks to a goal from Mason Mount. The Blues pushed for a winner, but it was Fulham who had the final say as Muniz scored a dramatic late goal to snatch victory from Chelsea’s grasp.

The result will come as a huge blow to Chelsea’s hopes of finishing in the top four, while Fulham will take great confidence from their performance as they continue their bid to avoid relegation. It was a dramatic and memorable night in West London as Fulham claimed a famous victory over their local rivals.
