FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Rapper YFN Lucci has been released from the Fulton County Jail a little more than a year after pleading guilty to a charge as part of a Fulton County investigation into gang activity.
A spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Corrections has confirmed with FOX 5 that the rapper, whose given name is Rayshawn Bennett, is “no longer in GDC custody.”
YFN Lucci released from prison
The backstory:
The rapper was arrested in 2021 as part of a wide-ranging indictment of 12 people officials claim are associated with subgroups of the Bloods gang.
In the 105-count indictment, which stemmed from a six-month investigation, investigators say Lucci and others committed a wide variety of crimes to protect and enhance the gang’s reputation and to gain and maintain control of territory. Bennett has been charged with murder after police said he was the driver in a gang-related drive-by shooting that killed a man.
In January 2024, Bennett pleaded guilty to one count of violation of Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. As part of his plea deal, prosecutors dropped the remaining 12 of 13 counts.
