  • Jets plan second G.M. interviews with Darren Mougey, Trey Brown

The Jets have found their head coach, now they need to find their General Manager.

Aaron Glenn has agreed to a deal to coach the team and their search for a G.M. to work with him will expand to include at least two more interviews. According to multiple reports, the team will have second interviews with Broncos assistant G.M. Darren Mougey and Bengals senior personnel executive Trey Brown.

The Jets had Commanders assistant G.M. Lance Newmark in for a second interview this week and his prior work with the Lions while Glenn was in Detroit suggested that they might come in as a package.

That’s not the case at this point and the Jets may be headed in a different direction when all is said and done.

The New York Jets are moving forward with their search for a new general manager, as they plan to conduct second interviews with candidates Darren Mougey and Trey Brown. Both candidates have impressed the team with their experience and vision for the future of the franchise.

Mougey, currently the assistant director of player personnel for the Arizona Cardinals, has a strong background in player evaluation and scouting. He has been instrumental in helping the Cardinals build a competitive roster and is seen as a rising star in the NFL front office.

Brown, on the other hand, is the director of player personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles and has a proven track record of success in talent evaluation and team building. He has played a key role in the Eagles’ recent success and is highly respected within the league.

The Jets are looking to find a new general manager who can help lead the team back to contention and build a sustainable winning culture. With Mougey and Brown as top candidates, the future looks bright for the Jets as they continue their search for the right person to lead the team. Stay tuned for updates on the Jets’ general manager search.

Commanders assistant G.M. Lance Newmark had his first interview with the Raiders on Sunday.

The Las Vegas Raiders are set to conduct second interviews for their vacant general manager position with Brandon Brown and Chad Alexander.

Both Brown and Alexander have impressed the Raiders’ leadership during their initial interviews and are now being given the opportunity to further showcase their qualifications and vision for the team.

  • Lance Newmark to have second G.M. interview with Jets

The Jets are starting a second round of head coaching interviews on Tuesday and they are also set for a second meeting with one of their General Manager candidates.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Commanders assistant G.M. Lance Newmark is set for another meeting with the Jets. Newmark has also interviewed with the Raiders.

Newmark joined the Commanders in 2024 and was with the Lions for more than two decades before moving to Washington. The quick turnaround that the Commanders were able to pull off after hiring Newmark is something the Jets would like to emulate with anyone they hire.

Newmark’s final three years in Detroit overlapped with defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who will have his second interview with the Jets on Tuesday, and the Jets could wind up packaging them together to lead the franchise.

The New York Jets have announced that Lance Newmark, current assistant general manager, will be having his second interview for the vacant general manager position. Newmark, who has been with the organization for the past five years, is highly regarded for his player evaluation skills and strategic thinking.

With the Jets looking to rebuild and reshape their roster, Newmark’s experience and knowledge of the team’s needs make him a strong candidate for the job. Fans are hopeful that he will bring a fresh perspective and help lead the team to success in the upcoming seasons.

  • Titans complete G.M. interviews with Packers executive Jon-Eric Sullivan, Bucs assistant G.M. John Spytek

The Titans announced they completed in-person interviews with Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan and Buccaneers assistant G.M. John Spytek for the team’s General Manager position.

The Titans previously conducted virtual interviews with Sullivan and Spytek over the weekend.

Sullivan was promoted to vice president of player personnel with the Packers in 2022, after spending four seasons (2018-21) as the team’s co-director of player personnel. He also spent two seasons (2016-17) as director of college scouting with the team.

Sullivan first joined the Packers in 2004 as the team’s National Football Scouting representative after interning for the Packers during the 2003 training camp. He served as a college scout covering the Central Plains (2008-11) and Southeast (2012-15) regions.

He’s the son of Jerry Sullivan, a longtime NFL and college coach who retired in 2021 after more than 40 years of coaching.

Spytek is in his second season as assistant General Manager with the Buccaneers, and his ninth season with the team. He has 22 years of experience in the NFL.

Spytek previously spent three seasons with th Broncos, where he worked as southwest area scout in 2013 before being elevated to national scout, a position he held for two years (2014-15). He also was with the Browns for three seasons (2010-12) as the director of college scouting.

Spytek began his player personnel career working as an intern with the Eagles in 2005, earning a full-time college scouting assistant position in 2006 and spending three years as a college/pro scout from 2007-09. His first job in the NFL was as an operations intern with the Lions in 2004.

The Titans also had in-person interviews with Ed Dodds and Terrance Gray on Tuesday and with Mike Borgonzi and Ian Cunningham on Wednesday.

The Tennessee Titans have completed their general manager interviews with two top candidates: Green Bay Packers executive Jon-Eric Sullivan and Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant general manager John Spytek.

Both Sullivan and Spytek are highly regarded in the NFL and have extensive experience in player personnel and team management. The Titans are looking to fill the general manager position after parting ways with Jon Robinson earlier this month.

Sullivan, who has been with the Packers organization since 2004, has played a key role in the team’s success over the years, including a Super Bowl victory in 2010. Spytek, on the other hand, has been instrumental in the Buccaneers’ recent success, including a Super Bowl win in 2021.

It remains to be seen which candidate will ultimately land the job, but Titans fans can rest assured that the organization is committed to finding the best possible candidate to lead the team into the future. Stay tuned for more updates on the Titans’ general manager search.

  • Jets complete G.M. interview with ESPN analyst Louis Riddick

Jets complete G.M. interview with ESPN analyst Louis Riddick

The Jets announced they have completed an interview with Louis Riddick for the team’s General Manager position.

Riddick, 55, currently is an NFL and college football analyst for ESPN and ABC. Before joining ESPN in 2013, Riddick worked in the front office of the Commanders and Eagles.

Riddick, who interviewed for the G.M. openings of the Lions and the Texans in 2020, is the third candidate to interview for the Jets’ post. The team also has completed interviews with former Falcons G.M. Thomas Dimitroff and former Titans G.M. Jon Robinson.

Riddick started his NFL career as a pro scout with Washington from 2001-04. The team promoted Riddick to director of pro personnel, and he held that position from 2005-07. Riddick then joined the Eagles as a scout in 2008, moved to assistant director of pro personnel in 2009 and was promoted to Philadelphia’s director of pro personnel from 2010-13.

Riddick had a seven-year playing career in the NFL with the Falcons (1992, ’96), Browns (1993-95) and Raiders (1998).

Jets Chairman Woody Johnson is leading the searches for a General Manager and head coach. He hired The 33rd Team in a support role to help identify and vet candidates in addition to coordinating interviews. Phil Savage and Jeff Ulbrich are serving as the team’s interim General Manager and head coach, respectively.

The New York Jets have completed their interview with ESPN analyst Louis Riddick for their vacant General Manager position. Riddick, who has been with ESPN since 2013, has a wealth of experience in the NFL as both a player and front office executive.

During his interview with the Jets, Riddick reportedly impressed team ownership and executives with his knowledge of personnel evaluation, salary cap management, and overall football acumen. Riddick has been a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in the NFL, and his potential hiring would be a step in the right direction for the Jets organization.

While no official decision has been made yet, Riddick is considered a top candidate for the Jets’ G.M. position. His experience and expertise could be just what the team needs to turn things around and build a successful and competitive roster for the future.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Jets’ search for a new General Manager and the potential hiring of Louis Riddick.
