  • ‘God is giving America another chance’

Speaking to Fox News Digital just days before President Donald Trump’s inauguration as 47th president, Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, expressed “gratitude to God” about Trump’s re-election and his hope for the future of the country.

“I believe most evangelicals, conservative Catholics and conservative Jews all view President Trump’s re-election with a feeling of relief and gratitude to God,” said the faith leader in an on-camera interview. (See the video at the top of this article.)

“There’s a very real sense that our country has been in a downward spiral the last four years, and mainly because of our departure from the Judeo-Christian foundation of our nation,” said Jeffress. “To many people, I believe President Trump’s re-election represents God giving America another chance — perhaps her last chance — to reverse this downward trajectory.”

And “I’m talking about things that have caused confusion in our country over the last four years,” he said.

“Embracing the transgender agenda, which is confusing our children. Wavering in our support of Israel, our only reliable ally in the Middle East. And following extreme environmental positions that may have actually caused rather than prevented some of the disasters we’re seeing.”

All of these things, said Jeffress, “have caused people of faith to lament — but they feel very hopeful now that President Trump is about to enter the White House [again] and they’re going to be filled with prayers for him.”

The pastor will be participating in certain inauguration events, he said, but was not at liberty to name the specifics ahead of those events.

Baptism Of The Lord Reveals 4 ‘Key Truths’ Of Jesus’ Identity And Mission

Jeffress said he hopes all Americans will heed the Bible and pray for all “those who are in authority” and in a governing capacity in this country.

“Now, I know some of our viewers and readers may be saying, ‘Pastor, are you a hypocrite? Would you have said the same thing about Joe Biden?’” said Jeffress. “And in fact, I wrote an op-ed piece for Fox News when Biden was elected, saying we may be lamenting his election, but we need to obey the Bible and pray for him.”

Added Jeffress to Fox News Digital, “The Bible says we don’t select whom we pray for. We pray for all leaders. And I would remind people that if President Trump wins in his agenda, which I think he will, then all of America wins, not just Republicans but our entire country.”

He went on, “President Trump has been a good friend of mine for the last 10 years. I’ve talked to him recently. I’ll talk to him again next week. And I really believe he wants to unite this country.”

And “I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised at the unity that he creates in our country,” said Jeffress. “Not everybody’s going to agree with every policy he initiates, but I think they’re going to see that he wants what is best for the country we all love.”

Jeffress said there is “no official” faith advisory role on his part, but rather “an informal friendship that I’ve cherished for these last 10 years. I just basically like President Trump,” he said. “He’s a very likable person. And I can tell you, he loves our country.”

He said that “there’s no sane reason he would give up a life of luxury to do this, to risk his life like he did twice in the last few months. He does this because he loves America and wants what’s best for our country.

“And I think Americans ought to be able to follow any man or woman who has that kind of feeling about our country.”

Jeffress added that America’s “greatness is in our goodness. And the Bible says the only goodness we can have is by our right relationship with God. And I hope we’ll begin not only this New Year, but this new term of the Trump administration with a new commitment to follow God. If God blesses a nation, nothing can thwart His purpose or our success.”

At the same time, Jeffress noted how important it is to recognize very real struggles and challenges — “and I know at the forefront of people’s thinking right now are the fires in Los Angeles and the devastation that has caused.”

California Wildfires: Navy Veteran And Mother Shares Heart-wrenching Evacuation From Her Home And Community

For tragedies like this, he said, “it’s natural for people to ask the ‘why’ question. Why do these things happen? Why do they happen to me? And I would suggest that sometimes this is an unanswerable question. Instead, the real question we ought to be asking is a ‘who’ question. Who is in control of a world that seems out of control?”

Jeffress shared an example from his own life.

“A few years ago, my wife, Amy, and I were driving in the night, out in the middle of West Texas, out in the darkness during a driving rainstorm — and our headlights malfunctioned and went out. And so we were driving in the darkness.

“I couldn’t see six inches in front of me, but I noticed an 18-wheeler behind me and I slowed down, and I allowed it to pass me. And once it was in front of me, I focused on its taillights. And I followed it into the nearest town.”

“And when we find ourselves in a maelstrom of confusion and suffering,” added Jeffress, “we wonder why these things are happening. There are three lights about God that we can focus in on. First, God is loving. The Bible says God is close to the brokenhearted. Never forget God is love.”

“Secondly, God is sovereign. That means He’s in control. Nothing takes Him by surprise.

“And finally, God is powerful enough to take the worst things that happen to us and use them for our own good. The apostle Paul said, ‘For God causes all things to work together for good.’”

Mother and little girl hands folded praying.

“God will deliver us to the other side safely.”

“To those who love Him, that doesn’t mean everything that happens to us is good, but it means God is so gracious and powerful that He can take the worst things in our life, like a fire, a flood, the breakup of a relationship, an illness — He can take those horrible things and use them for our good.”

Added Jeffress, “If we focus on those truths about God when we pass through a storm, then God will deliver us to the other side safely.”

In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, it seems that God is giving America another chance. Despite all the division, hate, and turmoil that has been plaguing our nation, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon.

With the recent changes in leadership and the ongoing efforts to heal and unite, it is clear that God is working in mysterious ways to bring about a positive transformation in our country. We have been given a second chance to come together, to love one another, and to create a better future for all.

Let us not squander this opportunity. Let us embrace this chance to make things right, to stand up for what is just and true, and to build a nation that is truly united and strong. God is giving us another chance, and it is up to us to seize it with open hearts and minds.

  • Q&A: ‘God Bless the USA’ singer Lee Greenwood on Donald Trump’s inauguration and Bibles

Forty years ago, Lee Greenwood released “God Bless the U.S.A.,” a patriotic anthem that has become a standard at political gatherings.

He’s performed the song for a number of presidents, including Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. And over the years, he’s formed a friendship with Donald Trump, becoming a fixture at his events. Recently, Greenwood has performed at the Republican National Convention, the Madison Square Garden rally marked by crude and racist jokes, and the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally where Trump made a triumphant return to the venue where he had been shot.

Last year, Trump and Greenwood teamed up for the “God Bless the USA Bible.” Printed in China, it is a King James Version translation that includes copies of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as a handwritten chorus of the famous Greenwood song.

Greenwood will perform at Trump’s Make America Great Again Rally at Capital One Arena in downtown Washington on Sunday as well as the swearing-in ceremony Monday.

“The pageantry is wonderful. I’m excited about all of that,” Greenwood told The Associated Press ahead of the inauguration. “I’m excited to sing yet again for President of the United States and particularly my friend Donald J. Trump.”

Greenwood discussed the inauguration, his relationship with Trump and the “God Bless the USA Bibles” with the AP. This interview has been edited for clarity and brevity.

AP: You performed at Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2017. Why was it important for you to do so again?

GREENWOOD: When the president was sworn in, it was at the Lincoln Memorial. That is the second time — at the same place — that I sang for a president. The first time was (the) 41(st President) George H. W. Bush, which I sang at the Lincoln Memorial for his presidency as well, right after he was sworn in. And I remember (in 2017) President Trump came over to greet us and say thank you for my performance. And I say, ‘Congratulations on the next four years.’ And he said, ‘No, Lee, it’s the next eight years.’ To be clear, there was a little time in between 2020 and 2025, but it is now going to be eight years that he’s the president.

AP: How did your performances for Donald Trump differ after the assassination attempt?

GREENWOOD: The mood changed immediately after the assassination attempt.

When I wrote the song “God Bless the U.S.A.,” there’s a line that says, “I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.” That was meant that all Americans would stand shoulder to shoulder to defend America and its freedom. I had no idea the reality check would be “I’m actually standing next to the person that’s going to be running the country.” It’s kind of ironic that after writing that lyric — and having that be what it is now — not just Donald Trump’s song, but America’s song free for reaffirmation and for rehabilitation. If you remember after 2001, the terrorist attack, “God Bless the U.S.A.” was played everywhere.

AP: “God Bless the U.S.A.” has become a staple of Donald Trump’s rallies.

GREENWOOD: When Donald Trump started using my song, there was no conversation within my camp or the Trump campaign for months. I mean, I would watch him … take the stage and I’d get this barrage of emails and texts. “Do you know that Donald Trump is using your song?” “Yes, I do.” But they never reached out and said, “Can we?” or “Do you want me to do that?” or not. There was no conversation about that until they reached out and basically said, “We want you to sing live for the president.” And then, of course, I started doing that because I believe that he’s the right man for the job.

AP: When did you meet Donald Trump?

GREENWOOD: My wife Kim is a former Miss Tennessee USA. And she accepted the executive directorship of the Miss Tennessee USA pageant in 1992 when we were married. And so, she worked for Donald Trump for 21 years. That association, of course, would cause several meetings with Donald Trump when he was just a businessman, and he owned Miss Universe. … That has changed hands several times. But Kim still is a director of Miss Tennessee, Miss Georgia and Miss Mississippi USA pageants for Miss Universe. And we’ve had great success with it over the years. But that that kind of gives you insight to how Donald Trump and I first became associated. And then (I) started singing for his campaign and became friends.

AP: What is the back story behind the Bibles?

Lee: It was our idea from the very beginning, as we round-tabled it — my wife and I and my management team. … I think it came about because I was singing at swearing in ceremonies for new citizens. … We got to talking about how much it means for a new immigrant to know about the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. … It’s the King James Version of the Bible. But we put those documents, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance (in the Bible.)

I discussed it with our pastor at church before we ever endeavored into the producing of it. And he said, “You know, any way we can bring people to Christ.” He said, “I think this is a very good version of it and an endorsement of our country as well.”

AP: Did you go into business with Donald Trump? Is it a licensing agreement?

GREENWOOD: My licensing agreement is with the manufacturer. President Trump has his own deal with the manufacturer as well.

Q: Lee Greenwood, you recently performed your hit song “God Bless the USA” at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Can you tell us about that experience and what it meant to you?

A: Performing at the inauguration was a truly special and humbling experience for me. It was an honor to be able to share my music with the American people on such a momentous occasion. I believe that my song resonates with so many people because it captures the spirit of patriotism and unity that is at the heart of our country.

Q: There was a lot of controversy surrounding the use of Bibles during the inauguration ceremony. As a Christian artist, what is your perspective on this issue?

A: As a Christian, I believe that the Bible is a sacred and important symbol of faith for many people. I think it is appropriate for the Bible to be used during important ceremonies like the presidential inauguration, as it represents the values and beliefs that have shaped our nation.

Q: Some critics have argued that the use of Bibles at the inauguration was exclusionary and inappropriate. What is your response to these criticisms?

A: I think it is important to remember that the United States is a country that was founded on the principles of freedom of religion and freedom of speech. The use of Bibles at the inauguration is a reflection of the diverse beliefs and values that make up our country. It is not meant to exclude anyone, but rather to acknowledge the importance of faith in our society.

Q: In your opinion, how can we come together as a nation and move forward in a spirit of unity and understanding?

A: I believe that music has the power to bring people together and bridge our differences. By listening to each other and respecting different perspectives, we can find common ground and work towards a brighter future for all Americans. Let’s continue to celebrate our shared values and beliefs, and strive to build a more inclusive and harmonious society. God bless the USA.

  • ‘God Bless the USA’ singer Lee Greenwood defends inauguration performer Carrie Underwood

“God Bless the U.S.A.” singer Lee Greenwood said his friend and fellow inauguration performer Carrie Underwood will “do a great job” on Monday despite the hate she’s been receiving.

“I pity those people that think they have to reach out to a star like her and run some negativity past her when all you have to do is say, ‘Thank you for performing for our next president,’” he told The Post.

The “American Idol” alum was slammed with comments on her Instagram page, criticizing her for performing for Donald Trump, calling her “disgraceful,” “a sellout” and “insurrectionist Barbie.”

Carrie Underwood, pictured here with Lee Greenwood, his wife, Kimberly, and their sons, Parker and Dalton, backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, will sing “America the Beautiful” at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Kim Greenwood

Greenwood, 82, who has performed with Underwood at the Country Music Awards, said haters need to “move on.”

“I mean, he is the next president. Come on. Stop this negative crap.”

The Grammy winner will proudly perform his patriotic anthem — which he wrote in 30 minutes in the back of his tour bus in 1983 — right before Trump is sworn in.

“I will sing live with the United States Marine Corps band only moments before Donald Trump swears in as the president,” said Greenwood of his third inauguration appearance. He sang for Trump in 2017 and George H. W. Bush in 1989.

This one will be different. “There’s going to be a lot more security because of the attempt on his life,” he said.

Trump personally invited Greenwood to sing at his inauguration while they were at Mar-a-Lago. Courtesy Donald J Trump For President 2024

Trump invited Greenwood to perform recently while he and his wife, former Miss Tennessee Kimberly Payne, were guests at Mar-a-Lago.

“My wife and I were standing with him at an event backstage and I said, ‘Are you going to need me in Washington?’ And he said, ‘Absolutely.’”

The California native, who lives in Franklin, TN, sang at six Republican National Conventions, but said introducing Trump after the then-presidential candidate was nearly killed at a rally in Butler, PA, was the most special.

“That may have been the most historic moment for me in all of my performances with presidents,” Greenwood said.

“This is the moment you have to introduce the president to the world again with a bandage on his right ear. I had to go on his time, on his clock. He took very slow steps walking to the box.”

Greenwood took his direction from Donald Trump, Jr., who was cautiously scanning the room.

“He was very serious. He was looking out at the arena. It wasn’t a moment of jubilation. It was like, ‘Is there anybody else going to take a shot at my dad?’”

“I will sing live with the United States Marine Corps band only moments before Donald Trump swears in as the president,” said Greenwood. Bloomberg via Getty Images

The country singer has thought about safety on stage.

“I think it’s in the back of my mind. I have several people with Secret Service and ATF that I confide in and they give me the outlook for danger. And we’re well protected normally,” he said.

“I’ve been with the military before at a USO tour where I got shot at. So I know what it feels like. But I’m confident and I’m proud to stand up. If President Trump can stand up there and not be afraid, I am not afraid.”

Greenwood, who also sang as Trump took the stage at his rally at Madison Square Garden, described the atmosphere as he approached the arena.

“There’s people on every street corner. And there’s about 60 to 80 people smashed against the barricade, about 400 or 500 people behind them. So I rolled the window down to talk to policemen. There were about 60 people on the corner with huge Trump flags. And they saw me in the window, and they said, ‘Greenwood’s here! Trump’s right behind him, we know!’” he recalled.

“We were very pleased that not only did Madison Square Garden sell out, but there were 100,000 people in the crowd outside waiting just to get a look at him. I thought New York was going to go red at that point.”

Greenwood “had no idea” his song would be so famous when he penned it over 40 years ago, and said there’s been a “steady climb” of streams and downloads since Trump reintroduced it to the country. AFP via Getty Images

From being on stage with Trump, Greenwood has learned something people may not know about the 47th president.

“He’s a big man. He’s like 6’4.” And many times, I’m on stage, and as a courtesy, I will stand back and salute him and then shake hands. He’ll reach out and grab me and give me a bear hug. He’s strong.”

Greenwood “had no idea” his song would be so famous when he penned it over 40 years ago, and said there’s been a “steady climb” of streams and downloads since Trump reintroduced it to the country.

“And President Trump has said before, when he takes the stage, he’ll say, ‘Well, I hope you’ve made a lot of money from this,’” he said.

“Yes, there is a more critical ascent of a revenue stream. And I’m happy about that. Thank you, President Trump.”

The recent controversy surrounding Carrie Underwood’s performance at the presidential inauguration has sparked a heated debate among fans and critics alike. However, one iconic voice in the music industry is coming to her defense.

Lee Greenwood, the singer of the patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA,” has spoken out in support of Underwood, praising her talent and dedication to her craft. In a recent interview, Greenwood emphasized the importance of respecting artists’ right to express themselves through their music, regardless of personal beliefs or political affiliations.

As a fellow musician who has faced his fair share of criticism and backlash over the years, Greenwood understands the challenges that come with being in the spotlight. He believes that Underwood should be celebrated for her incredible talent and contributions to the music industry, rather than being torn down for her decision to perform at the inauguration.

In the face of adversity, it’s heartwarming to see a music legend like Lee Greenwood stand up for his fellow artist and defend their right to share their music with the world. Let’s follow his example and show our support for Carrie Underwood as she continues to inspire us with her incredible voice and powerful performances. God bless the USA, and God bless the artists who bring us together through the universal language of music.

Alexander the Great is undoubtedly one of the most famous and influential figures in history. Known for his military conquests and ambitious campaigns, he was not only a skilled strategist and leader, but also a figure of mythic proportions.

Many historians have debated whether Alexander was just a man or if he possessed god-like qualities. Some argue that his remarkable military successes, his ability to inspire loyalty in his troops, and his vision for a global empire set him apart from ordinary mortals. Others believe that his divine status was exaggerated by later writers and that he was simply a talented and ambitious ruler.

Regardless of where one falls on this debate, there is no denying the impact that Alexander had on the ancient world. His conquests stretched from Greece to India, and his legacy can still be felt today in the cultures and societies that he influenced.

In the end, Alexander the Great remains a complex and enigmatic figure, a man who straddled the line between mortal and divine. Whether he was a man or a god, his legacy continues to captivate and inspire people around the world.

Donald Trump Jr’s rumored new girlfriend Bettina Anderson appeared to take a swipe at her critics after she was spotted dining with the president-elect’s eldest son at a Mar-a-Lago Christmas feast.

Earlier this month, the 46-year-old political scion appeared to end his engagement to fiancée Kimberley Guilfoyle. Amidst reports of the break-up, Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host, was tapped to be Donald Trump’s incoming ambassador to Greece.

As the rumor mill whirls in the wake of the new relationship, Anderson, a 38-year-old model and Palm Beach socialite, took to Instagram to share a defiant message with her dissenters, posting a video of a narrator quoting the book of Exodus from the Bible.

“So let them lie. Let them manipulate. Let them talk. You just be still, because when God is on your side, who can stand against you?,” the speaker said in the now disappeared clip from her Instagram story, seen by the Irish Star.

The post comes after Don Jr and Anderson attended the Trump Christmas day celebrations at Mar-a-lago, his Palm Beach, Florida, resort, together and was photographed sitting next to the incoming First Lady Melania and their 18-year-old son Barron.

It follows a string of sightings ranging back to September when the pair were seen dining together in a restaurant near Trump’s south Florida residence.

Earlier this month, Don Jr and Anderson were photographed holding hands, fueling speculation about the status of his relationship with Guilfoyle.

The couple, who began dating in 2018 after Don Jr ended his 13-year marriage to Vannessa Trump, with whom he shares five children. Guilfoyle and Don Jr, who announced their engagement in 2020, had not been seen together since November 12.

The reports have led to some of the president-elect’s inner circle being said to fear Don Jr’s new girlfriend’s credentials don’t quite hit the mark.

One insider refuted claims that she was a “big Republican,” claiming she “wasn’t MAGA to begin with,” according to the Daily Mail.

A source also told The Mail that Anderson plans to attend Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025, besides Don Jr.

Anderson previously voiced her support for the Black Lives Matter movement and appeared to encourage followers to follow Covid protocols in 2020, posting a picture of herself to Facebook sporting a face mask and holding up a sign which reads: “Only you can stop the spread of ignorance.”

Bettina Anderson, the woman at the center of the drama surrounding her relationship with Donald Trump Jr, is standing firm in her beliefs despite facing criticism from skeptics. In a recent statement, Anderson declared that “God is on her side” and that she is confident in her choices.

The relationship between Anderson and Trump Jr has been the subject of intense scrutiny and speculation in recent weeks, with many questioning the nature of their connection. However, Anderson remains undeterred, asserting that her faith in God gives her the strength to weather any storm.

As the controversy continues to swirl around her, Anderson is unwavering in her conviction that she is doing what is right. With the support of her faith and a steadfast belief in her decisions, she is ready to face whatever challenges come her way.

Critics may doubt her motives and question her choices, but Bettina Anderson is resolute in her stance that she is guided by a higher power. In the face of adversity, she remains steadfast in her belief that she is on the right path.
