  • Trump says he ordered airstrikes on Islamic State group in Somalia


    Donald Trump says he ordered military airstrikes on a senior attack planner and others from the Islamic State (IS) group in Somalia.

    “These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies,” Trump posted on social media.

    “The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians.”

    The BBC could not immediately independently verify the reports.

    Trump did not name any of the people targeted in strikes.

    The president ended his post with: “The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that “WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!”

    In a statement, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said “our initial assessment is that multiple operatives were killed in the airstrikes and no civilians were harmed”.

    Hegseth said the strikes “further degrade” the ability of IS “to plot and conduct terrorist attacks” and “sends a clear signal that the United States always stands ready to find and eliminate terrorists”.

    Trump also took a swipe at the former administration, stating the US military had targeted this particular IS planner for years, but accused Joe Biden “and his cronies” of not acting quickly enough “to get the job done. I did!”

    US forces killed IS leader, Bilal al-Sudani, and 10 of his operatives in a remote mountainous cave in northern Somalia in 2023, in an operation ordered by Biden.

    IS rose to international prominence in the 2010s, particularly in Syria and Iraq, but now its presence is mainly restricted to parts of Africa.

    The Somali branch of IS was formed in 2015 by a group of defectors from the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Shabab group – the largest jihadist group in Somalia.

    IS in Somalia is notorious for extorting locals and mainly carries out small-scale, sporadic attacks, according to the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

    The Flip Off crew revealed that they have a group chat!

    During an Instagram Live on Wednesday, Jan. 29, Christina Haack sat down with her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, to answer fan questions about their new HGTV competition series. And while the trio confirmed that they are, in fact, on a private text chain together, the reality stars remained coy about the name.

    “Oh, we have a group chat,” Christina, 41, said in response to a viewer question.

    “We don’t have a name,” Heather, 37, chimed in before saying, “Oh! I know what it would be.”

    Heather then proceeded to whisper the potential name to Christina, who emphatically agreed. “Yes!” she responded.

    However, the ladies declined to share the potential group chat name with fans.

    Later in the conversation, another person asked if fans can expect a Heather and Christina spin-off show at some point in the future.

    “No,” Tarek, 43, quickly said in a jokingly firm voice.

    Heather and Christina, however, seemed intrigued by the idea, with Heather saying, “Flip Off! Girls Edition!” with a laugh.

    The Flip Off was initially announced in May 2024 and was originally set to follow Tarek and Heather as they competed in a house flipping competition against Christina and her then-partner, Josh Hall. However, the show’s premise became less clear after Josh, 44, officially filed for divorce from Christina on July 15, 2024 after nearly three years of marriage.

    Promotions for the show have since only featured Christina, Tarek and Heather, and a December 2024 press release from HGTV confirmed that Christina would be working with her “trusted team” as opposed to her ex this season.

    Further details about the situation between Christina and Josh emerged during the show’s premiere on Jan. 29.

    In an on-camera sit down between Christina and Tarek — who co-parent kids Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9 — Christina revealed that Josh would give her the silent treatment whenever she spoke to Tarek. 

    “You make him very insecure,” she tearfully told Tarek during the conversation. “Every time we’d barely joke at [the kids’] soccer [games], or if I laughed at you, he like would not speak to me for two to three days.”

    Christina and Tarek separated in 2016 after seven years of marriage and officially divorced the following year, though they continued to host their HGTV show Flip or Flop for several seasons after their split.

    In a Jan. 29th appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Christina shared that she thinks competing on the upcoming season without a partner actually puts her at an advantage. 

    “It’s so much easier without somebody else bothering me,” she said on the talk show. “I mean, I don’t have to ask approval from anyone. No one’s, like, weighing me down.”

  • Special Forces’ Kyla Pratt Says There’s ‘No Animosity’ for Recruits Who Held Back Group (Exclusive)


    “When you see somebody working hard, if they make a mistake, we’re not going to penalize you or be mad at you,” Pratt told TooFab exclusively, after being asked about Christy Carlson Romano’s underweight bag.

    Kyla Pratt says there was “no animosity” between any of the Special Forces recruits if the rest of the group was punished due to one person’s mistakes.

    In an interview with TooFab following the January 29th episode of FOX’s reality series, the actress opened up about her exit from the course.

    “I don’t have any regrets,” Pratt told TooFab. “I think if I would have left any earlier, I might have. But when I decide, I think after the mud workout, I wanted to leave in the mud workout, but I refused to because I don’t like when someone’s trying to make me do something. And then the next day I was like, ‘I think I’m done.’”

    The mud workout was given to the recruits after it was discovered Christy Carlson Romano’s bag was underweight — a big no no.

    “There was no animosity at all,” Pratt insisted. “It’s crazy because you go into the situation at first and you are forced to be with 15 other people who you don’t know, you don’t even know their names … We’re in this together.”

    “So, knowing that we were all there doing our best, no one was vindictive,” she continued. “No one was trying to do anything to ruin you and we are lacking sleep, lacking nutrition, lacking warmth,” she said before adding the conditions they were under caused mistakes to happen.

    “We’re going to mess up. No one’s going to be perfect. So for her bag to be underweight, and that was crazy because she was ‘Miss, we got to wear our bags.’ So when you see somebody working hard, if they make a mistake, we’re not going to penalize you or be mad at you.”

    The Proud Family

    The 38-year-old — who is known for voicing Penny Proud in the original Disney Channel series The Proud Family — recently reprised the role in the reboot, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

    “It was absolutely amazing,” she said of the opportunity to go back to the Proud family.

    “Not a lot of people can say that they got to play a character 20 years later. I didn’t realize how important the Proud family was to so many people growing up until it was canceled,” she shared. “Everybody kept asking for it to come back and being a part of the show with the original creators and producers and older writers and newer writers. And I get to be a part of a cartoon that now my kids get to watch and get excited about new episodes.”

    Even thought it’s been 20 years, Pratt said her voice “has not changed one bit.”

    Fans of The Proud Family can expect even more from the universe too.

    “We have a lot of things coming up in The Proud Family universe. I cannot share them, but let’s just say Disney plus is not playing. I think they see that the fans really enjoy the show. So they’re finding any and every way to make sure The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder lives on,” she teased.

    New joiners’ journey
