  • ‘Voice’ alum Ryan Whyte Maloney’s fiancée witnessed fatal gunshot: report

The fiancée of Ryan Whyte Maloney, the singer best known for competing on “The Voice,” witnessed the moment he died of suicide at the age of 44, according to a police report.

The couple fought moments before Maloney passed on Tuesday, January 28, the fiancée told law enforcement, per the report obtained by TMZ.

Maloney was intoxicated, his fiancée claimed, saying they argued in the car after leaving the New York-New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, where he performed earlier that evening.

While driving home, Maloney’s fiancée asked him if he had her jacket, the report stated. After the “Voice” crooner replied that he didn’t, he allegedly grew annoyed and eventually called her a “bitch.”

Maloney proceeded to reach into the glove compartment of the car, grab a gun and exit the vehicle, the report added.

His fiancée said she then heard a gunshot and opened her car window to yell for Maloney, but he had already taken off.

Leaving the car herself, she ran after him. At that point, she heard a second gunshot and saw Maloney’s body collapse to the ground.

OG Maco Passed Away At 32 From Gunshot Wound

Atlanta rap star OG Maco passed away on Thursday night (Dec. 26) after weeks at a hospital in Los Angeles, California, following a gunshot wound, according to TMZ Hip-Hop. He was 32.

Known for his 2014 viral hit “U Guessed It,” the rap star was surrounded by family upon his passing. The artist had been hospitalized since December 12 after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Sources reveal that his condition worsened after slipping into a coma, and despite medical efforts, he could not be revived. Doctors had struggled to perform accurate brain scans and remove toxins from his system during his hospitalization.

Family members, who traveled from out of town to be by his side, are devastated by the loss. False reports of Maco’s death circulated on social media in the days prior, creating confusion before his passing was officially confirmed. Authorities responded to the incident earlier this month after a neighbor reported hearing gunfire. A firearm was later recovered near the scene.

Maco’s impact on hip-hop was undeniable. His breakout single “U Guessed It” not only showcased his dynamic energy but also solidified his place in the music industry, helping to propel QC Records into the spotlight. In 2015, he earned a coveted spot on the XXL Freshman list alongside notable names like Vince Staples and K Camp, further cementing his reputation as an innovative force in rap.

Over the years, Maco continued to push musical boundaries, refusing to conform to traditional styles. However, his career faced significant challenges due to medical issues, including a rare and debilitating flesh-eating disease that he battled publicly. Despite these hardships, Maco remained a symbol of resilience, inspiring fans with his creativity and determination.

The loss of OG Maco leaves a void in the hip-hop community, as artists and fans mourn a talent taken too soon. His legacy, marked by bold artistry and unrelenting perseverance, will undoubtedly endure.
