Ke Huy Quan Wants To Play A ‘Diabolical, Really Bad Guy’
You’d be hard-pressed to find a star who radiates as much positive energy as Ke Huy Quan – from his ebullient young performances in The Goonies and Temple Of Doom, to his heart-swelling Oscar-winning turn in Everything Everywhere All At Once, to his affable performance in Loki Season 2. But beyond his impending fight-fuelled action-comedy Love Hurts, Quan has a desire to play against type. Yes, the friendliest man in Hollywood wants to see if being bad really does feel pretty good.
“I would love to play a bad guy. Like a Bond villain,” Quan tells Empire in a major new interview in the 28 Years Later issue. “Or the kind of thing Hugh Grant does in Heretic.” The worse he can go, the better. “I want to go out of my comfort zone and just play this diabolical, really bad guy,” he laughs. “That would be a lot of fun.” Someone get him a fluffy white Blofeld cat, stat.
For Quan, as he moves beyond his Oscar-winning comeback as Waymond in Daniels’ multiversal masterpiece, he plans to keep showing all the different shades and colours that that film was able to showcase. While Love Hurts will display his mastery of martial arts (for years, Quan worked behind-the-scenes on action choreography, including on 2000’s X-Men), he wants to keep showing more. “I don’t want to be perceived as an action star,” he explains. “I hope I’m perceived as an actor who does action well. So I’m going to take it one step at a time. The best part about being an actor is, you get to play a variety of different characters. I love [Loki’s] Ouroboros because he’s so different than [EEAAO’s] Waymond, and Waymond is so different than [Love Hurts’] Marvin Gable.” Let the cinematic multiverse unfold.
Read Empire’s full new Ke Huy Quan interview – talking his Oscar success, his love of action movies, and where his career goes next – in the 28 Years Later issue, on sale now. Order a copy online here. Love Hurts comes to UK cinemas on 7 February.
Ke Huy Quan, known for his roles in iconic films like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Goonies, is ready to take on a new challenge. The actor recently expressed his desire to play a “diabolical, really bad guy” in an upcoming project.Quan, who has mostly played lovable and charming characters in his career, is eager to showcase his range and versatility as an actor by taking on a darker and more complex role. He believes that playing a villain would allow him to explore different aspects of his craft and push himself outside of his comfort zone.
Fans of Quan are excited to see him tackle a new kind of role and are eager to see what he will bring to the table as a “diabolical, really bad guy.” With his talent and charisma, there is no doubt that Quan would excel in such a role and leave a lasting impression on audiences.

Ke Huy Quan Wants To Play “A Bad Guy” Next
With an unprecedented onscreen comeback under his belt, Ke Huy Quan has one dream role he hopes to get to soon.
The Oscar winner recently revealed he wants “to play a bad guy,” using the 007 franchise and Hugh Grant’s recent performance in Heretic as inspirations for the type of villainous role he’s manifesting.
“I would love to play a bad guy. Like a Bond villain. Or the kind of thing Hugh Grant does in Heretic,” he told Empire, adding: “I want to go out of my comfort zone and just play this diabolical, really bad guy. That would be a lot of fun.”
Quan also explained that he’d like to venture beyond the genre after years of choreographing stunts and fights for films like X-Men (2000) and The One (2001).
“I don’t want to be perceived as an action star,” said Quan. “I hope I’m perceived as an actor who does action well. So I’m going to take it one step at a time. The best part about being an actor is, you get to play a variety of different characters. I love [Loki‘s] Ouroboros because he’s so different than [EEAAO‘s] Waymond, and Waymond is so different than [Love Hurts‘] Marvin Gable.”
Following his Oscar and Golden Globe-winning performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), Quan can next be seen as retired hitman-turned-realtor Marvin Gable in the Jonathan Eusebio-helmed Universal action thriller Love Hurts, premiering Feb. 7.
Quan has also been cast in the upcoming Lionsgate action thriller Fairytale in New York, from director Jalmari Helander, which stars the actor as an unassuming cab driver who goes after a gang of criminals on Christmas Eve to retrieve his children’s stolen Christmas presents.
Ke Huy Quan, known for his roles in iconic films such as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Goonies, has expressed interest in playing a different kind of role for his next project. The talented actor, who has typically portrayed lovable and heroic characters, has stated that he wants to take on the challenge of playing a “bad guy” in a future film.Quan’s desire to explore a darker, more complex character comes as no surprise to his fans, as he has proven time and time again that he is a versatile actor capable of taking on a wide range of roles. With his impressive acting abilities and charismatic on-screen presence, there is no doubt that Quan would bring depth and nuance to any villainous character he portrays.
While it remains to be seen what specific project Quan will take on next, fans can rest assured that the talented actor is eager to push boundaries and challenge himself in new and exciting ways. Keep an eye out for Ke Huy Quan’s next project, as he may just surprise us all with his portrayal of a “bad guy” like we’ve never seen before.

#Fall #Guy #Bluray #Region #Free,2024Guy Pearce Movies to Stream on Tubi This January
In chatting with film fans on social media; I’ve come across many viewers who are keen to revisit Guy Pearce pictures or discover his hidden gems anew thanks to the growing awards buzz he has been getting for his performance in The Brutalist. My movie friends, the free streaming platforms are here for you!
Here’s a breakdown of the abundant Guy Pearce films available this January on Tubi (films are available in Canada and the United States, unless otherwise stated).
Certainly, Memento (US Only) is essential Guy Pearce viewing thanks to director Christopher Nolan, but so is the 2012 sci-fi romp Lockout (US Only). Despite the Escape from L.A. copycatting, action hero Pearce carries Lockout with sardonic wit – contrasting the bitter, dirty excellence of the 2005 Australian western The Proposition (US Only) written by Nick Cave. Likewise Traitor remains a compelling, globe trotting terrorism thriller co-starring Don Cheadle, and Brimstone is a disturbing horror western with Pearce’s demented ministry playing in four out of order acts.
If you’re looking for an ABBA infused, rainbow embracing comedy, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert is a must see, and the 1996 Australian body swap hoot Dating the Enemy is a battle of the sexes full of throwback charm. The Down Under 2002 heist caper The Hard Word (US Only) has a lot of humorous winks, too – including a fake nose for bank-robbing Pearce.
For tender dramas, look no further than 2013’s complicated rather than illicit Breathe In with The Brutalist co-star Felicity Jones, the psychological self-fulfilling prophecy of First Snow (US Only), and the surprisingly charming 33 Postcards (US Only) concerning inmate Pearce and his orphaned pen pal. Wholesome long form entertainment can also be found in Four Seasons of the Australian western Snowy River: The McGregor Saga.
Fair warning there are a few bad Guy Pearce movies like the contemporary western Disturbing the Peace and Seeking Justice co-starring Nicolas Cage freely available, too. Low budget horror films such as The Seventh Day or Sunrise (US Only); brief cameo appearances in Domino, Genius (US Only), and The Road; and unevenly executed pieces like Death Defying Acts (US Only), Fragments (US Only), and Swinging Safari also aren’t the best showcase for what Guy Pearce can do.
Fortunately, free streaming services like Tubi remain an archive to re-discover and explore Guy Pearce’s superb oeuvre.

With ‘The Brutalist,’ Guy Pearce Makes His Hollywood Return
Yeah. It’s a commitment before you even start.
I wonder if people realize that may be part of why they hesitate, because it’s almost like breaking an addiction for them.
And the funny thing is, the intermission is a little bit of bait that makes people go, “I’m prepared to deal with three and a half hours because there’s this cool intermission thing in the middle. What’s that going to feel like?” It’s as if they’re going to go on some new ride they’ve not experienced, when really they’re just going to walk out and go to the loo and buy some M&Ms and have a quick chat about the first half.
But I do think we’re in the middle of a pendulum swing when it comes to the industry and moviegoing. I know the difficulties that exist in even getting a film off the ground, so when I watch something and go, “Ah, it wasn’t really for me,” I still come away going, “Oh my God, I have such appreciation for the fact that you even did that.”
Because you know too well how precarious things can be.
How does anyone get any film made these days? This falls apart, that falls apart, you can’t get this actor, the money falls away. I’ll get offered something out of the blue and they go, “No, no, we’ve always really wanted you. We start next week.” I’m like, “OK, Paul Bettany just pulled out, obviously.” But you just do it. You get on board.
It’s funny, because for a number of years, I had people saying to me, “‘L.A. Confidential’ was the last movie of its kind and ‘Memento’ was the first movie of its kind,” this new style of Chris Nolan filmmaking. To be part of those two worlds that were only three years apart was pretty cool, really. And so now, again, to be in the middle of this snappy generation with a three-and-a-half hour movie that everybody’s talking about, I’m so curious to see how that looks in a few years’ time.
After a brief hiatus from Hollywood, acclaimed actor Guy Pearce is back with a bang in his latest film, “The Brutalist.” Known for his intense performances and versatile acting skills, Pearce’s return to the big screen is highly anticipated by fans and critics alike. In “The Brutalist,” Pearce plays the lead role of an enigmatic architect who is haunted by his past and struggles to come to terms with his own demons. As he navigates through a world of brutalist architecture and complex relationships, Pearce’s character is forced to confront his innermost fears and desires.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jennifer Kent, known for her work on “The Babadook,” “The Brutalist” promises to be a thought-provoking and visually stunning film that showcases Pearce’s undeniable talent as an actor. With a stellar cast and a gripping storyline, this movie is sure to be a must-see for fans of Pearce and lovers of quality cinema.
Don’t miss out on Guy Pearce’s Hollywood comeback in “The Brutalist,” a film that is bound to leave a lasting impact on audiences and solidify Pearce’s status as one of the industry’s most talented actors. Get ready to be captivated, moved, and inspired by this incredible performance from a true Hollywood legend.

#Fall #Guy #Extended #Cut #Ultra #Bluray #Digital #UHD,2024Ella Langley Reveals Which Country Music Guy Has “The Best Pickup Lines I’ve Ever Heard in My Life”
Move over, Zach Top—the “hottest guy in country music” title currently belongs to Kevon Green, father of Riley. Fans melted when the older man chose to spend his 79th birthday basking in his son’s massive success. And, according to Riley’s frequent collaborator, Ella Langley, no one is beating Kevon Green when it comes to pickup lines, either.
Kevon Green’s Pickup Lines Are “A Work of Art”
Last summer, Ella Langley and Riley Green launched a thousand pickup lines with “You Look Like You Love Me,” a winsome, winking nod to love at first sight (or something like that.)
When you pen a chart-topping song about falling in love with someone from across the room, it stands to reason that people will want to share their best come-ons with you. And while some are better than others, Langley says no one is beating Kevon Green.
“He gets the best pickup lines I’ve ever heard in my life,” Langley said during a recent appearance on the God’s Country podcast. “He’s like, off the cuff. I mean, it’s incredible. It is a work of art, honestly.”
Well, it looks like the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree in this case. Kevon and Riley Green seem to have an ultra-close relationship, as Riley frequently shouts out Kevon on social media. In fact, one of the first purchases he made after his music career took off was a brand-new truck for his dad.
“Nothing I bought myself stands out like as being able to hand him the keys to a nice truck, you know?” Riley told AL.com last February. “He always had an old beat-up truck, so it was cool to be able to take care of him.”

Ella Langley Has Released New Music
After a bombshell year that saw the release of her debut album Hungover, Ella Langley is still going strong. In November, the Hope Hull, Alabama-born artist released a deluxe version of her debut, Still Hungover, which included the single “Weren’t For the Wind.”
Next week, Langley will hit the road for her Still Hungover tour, kicking off Jan. 23 in Oklahoma City. And if you were looking for tickets, best of luck.
“What!!!! Y’all sold out the whole dang tour in one day,” Langley wrote on social media on Oct. 24. “Thank you.”

Country music singer Ella Langley recently revealed in a candid interview which country music guy she believes has “the best pickup lines I’ve ever heard in my life.” Langley, who is known for her hit songs and soulful voice, dished on her experience with one particular country music heartthrob whose charm and wit left her swooning. In the interview, Langley shared that she had the pleasure of meeting country music sensation Luke Bryan at a music festival last year. She recalled how Bryan approached her with a smile and delivered a clever pickup line that instantly caught her attention.
“He walked up to me and said, ‘Excuse me miss, but I think you dropped something: my jaw,’” Langley laughed. “I have to admit, I was completely taken aback by his smooth delivery and charm. It was definitely one of the best pickup lines I’ve ever heard in my life.”
Langley went on to praise Bryan for his charisma and genuine personality, noting that his charm extended beyond just his pickup lines. She expressed her admiration for his talent as a musician and his ability to connect with fans on a personal level.
As for whether there was any romance between her and Bryan, Langley remained tight-lipped. “Luke is an incredible artist and a great guy, but we’re just friends,” she clarified. “I have a lot of respect for him and his music, and I’m excited to see where his career takes him.”
Fans of both Langley and Bryan were thrilled to hear about their interaction, with many expressing their support for a potential collaboration between the two artists in the future. In the meantime, Langley continues to make waves in the country music scene with her powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, while Bryan remains a fan favorite with his infectious energy and catchy tunes.
Stay tuned for more updates on Ella Langley and Luke Bryan, and who knows – maybe we’ll see a musical collaboration between the two in the near future. Until then, fans can enjoy their respective music and appreciate the undeniable talent that both artists bring to the country music world.

He’s the number one guy on RAW
The world has been talking about WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix, with some massive matches and appearances set to make headlines worldwide. While numerous superstars have been advertised to appear on the show, three-time world champion Drew McIntyre has not been featured on the promotional package. Ex-WWE employee Jonathan Coachman bashed the Stamford-based company for ignoring the former World Champion.
Drew McIntyre recently shared a lengthy statement on the incident, expressing his frustration with the company. The Scottish Warrior teased feuds with Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, as both stars were featured in the promotional package while being SmackDown stars.
During a recent edition of The Coach and Bro Show, Jonathan Coachman criticized the Stamford-based company for omitting the “Number One Guy” on the red brand from the promotional package.
“The first shot is of who? Cody Rhodes. And what does he say? He’s not even a Raw guy. Then you’ve got Roman Reigns, and he goes, ‘He’s not even a Raw guy.’ And there wasn’t one shot of Drew McIntyre in the entire promo. You can’t tell me they’re so forward-thinking that they would make that part of the storyline just to piss off Drew and help with his character.
