  • Mickey Guyton & Carín León Make ‘Austin City Limits’ Debut On New Season 50 Episode

Watch Guyton perform the anthemic “House On Fire” and León pour his heart into “Despídase Bien.”

Texas’ own Mickey Guyton and Mexican singer-songwriter Carín León share the hour on the latest episode of Austin City Limits. Preview the installment of the legendary live music television show premiering on Saturday, January 25 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT as part of ACL’s milestone Season 50 on PBS (check local listings) by watching a performance from each artist’s debut on the program below.

Mickey Guyton focuses her seven-song appearance on material from her critically-acclaimed 2024 studio album House On Fire. The trailblazing musician also performs cuts from her breakthrough 2021 LP, Remember Her Name, which led to her making history by becoming the first Black woman to be nominated for the Best Country Solo Performance Grammy.

Guyton wrote or co-wrote all 12 songs featured on House On Fire, her sophomore full-length studio album. One of the record’s many highlights is the anthemic title track. Mickey Guyton took inspiration from mental health for the song, including on the gut punch of the lyric “Can you love me when things are really bad/When I’m in flames?”

Watch Mickey Guyton perform “House On Fire” on this weekend’s episode of Austin City Limits:

Carín León had a massive 2024 in which he drew raves for a set at the Grand Ole Opry sung entirely in Spanish and became the first Latin artist to take the stage at both Coachella and Stagecoach. The gifted vocalist also released the genre-defying studio album Boca Chueca, Vol. 1, which is up for a 2025 Grammy in the Best Musica Mexicana Album category.

León was backed by an 18-piece band for his ACL debut including a full brass section, accordion, piano, acoustic, electric, requinto and steel guitar. The native of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico delivered seven songs for his portion of the new episode mixing material from Boca Chueca, Vol. 1 and his 2023 breakout LP Colmillo De Leche.

See Carín León pour his heart into “Despídase Bien” on the ACL stage below:

As with each episode, this week’s installment of Austin City Limits can be viewed online at pbs.org/austincitylimits shortly after the initial broadcast. Season 50 continues on February 1 with Chris Stapleton.

I am so excited to announce that Mickey Guyton and Carín León will be making their debut on the iconic music television series ‘Austin City Limits’ in the upcoming season 50 episode. This is a huge milestone for both artists, and I cannot wait to see their incredible performances on the show.

Mickey Guyton, known for her powerful vocals and empowering lyrics, has been making waves in the country music scene with hits like “Black Like Me” and “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?”. Carín León, a rising star in the regional Mexican music genre, has been captivating audiences with his unique blend of traditional and modern sounds.

I have no doubt that their performances on ‘Austin City Limits’ will be nothing short of spectacular, and I cannot wait to see them take the stage. Make sure to tune in to season 50 episode to catch these two talented artists in action!
