The 2025 CFP national championship will be held on Monday, January 20. Ohio State will take on Notre Dame to determine which team is the best-of-the-best in the final game of the 2024-2025 season.
With such a big event happening, it was surprising that no act had been announced for the halftime show. Usually, in college football, the home team’s marching band performs a set. With big games that are at a neutral site, like the national championship, both teams’ marching bands are often given a chance to shine.
ESPN announced a few days before the game that there would be a “special guest” performer but only alluded to it being a star and to wait to see the reveal. Monday morning, it was announced that rapper Travis Scott would be the headliner for the halftime show. Each school’s marching bands could still get time to shine, but Scott will be the main attraction.
Here is why Scott is performing during the 2025 national championship halftime show.

When the rapper posted the announcement on his Instagram, he said that he has a new song called ‘4×4’ that he will debut on Monday night.
What time is Ohio State vs. Notre Dame halftime show?
Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. There is no set time for the halftime show to start. Given the typical run time of college football first halves, it likely won’t begin until at or after 9 p.m. ET.
To be safe, though, if you just want to watch the halftime show, it would be wise to turn the game on around 8:45 p.m. ET to ensure you don’t miss anything.

When, where, halftime show, winners
The Miami Dolphins are still waiting for their first NFL championship since 1974. A few teams playing for a spot in the 2025 Super Bowl are playing for their first ever, with one favorite last winning the title before it was even called the Super Bowl.
A disappointing 8-9 season means the Dolphins missed the NFL playoffs for the first time in three years. They’ll have to watch as the rival Buffalo Bills, who have won their division the past five seasons, host the Baltimore Ravens in one of the most highly anticipated playoff games in years. Buffalo made four straight Super Bowls in the 1990s but haven’t won one yet.
Meanwhile, the biggest upset of the playoffs game late Saturday night, as the Detroit Lions, who fell a game short of their first Super Bowl appearance last year, did so again. The Super Bowl favorites had five turnovers and couldn’t contain rookie QB Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, 45-31, at Ford Field. The Commanders, now in their first NFC title game since the 1991 season, will visit either the Philadelphia Eagles or Los Angeles Rams next weekend with a Super Bowl berth on the line.
And don’t forget the two-time reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs, who beat Miami last season in one of the coldest NFL playoff games ever. They topped the Houston Texans, who have never reached the conference championship round, with a 23-14 victory at Arrowhead.
Here’s everything you need to know about Super Bowl 2025, including the time, date, location and how to watch on TV and streaming:

The Super Bowl will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This will be the eighth time the Superdome has hosted the Super Bowl and the 11th time New Orleans has hosted it. That’s tied for the most all time with Miami. The last time the Super Bowl was at the Superdome was 2013, when Joe Flacco led the Baltimore Ravens over Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.
A U.S. citizen drove a pickup through Bourbon Street on New Year’s Day ahead of the Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff game in New Orleans, killing 14 people and injuring at least 57. The NFL has said it is working with local, state and federal authorities to ensure security will be tight at the Super Bowl.
How to watch Super Bowl 2025
The 2025 Super Bowl will air on Fox. Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will call the game from the booth, with Erin Andrews and Tom Rinadli reporting from the sidelines. Streaming options include the Fox Sports app and Fubo.
Watch the NFL playoffs live on FuboWho will play in Super Bowl 2025?
The Super Bowl pits the champion of the NFC against the winner of the AFC. There are still two rounds of NFL playoffs to go until those teams are decided. Four games this weekend will determine who plays in the conference championship games next Sunday. Here’s a look at the teams still in contention:
- AFC: Kansas City Chiefs (15-2); Baltimore Ravens (12-5) vs. Buffalo Bills (13-4)
