  • Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov misses practice, could be headed for surgery: Sources

Kirill Kaprizov missed practice Tuesday and, according to multiple league sources, there have been discussions between Kaprizov, Minnesota Wild management and doctors over the past few days over whether Kaprizov should undergo surgery this week for a lower-body injury that has been ailing him since mid-December.

Getting the issue fixed now, especially with the Wild having no games from Feb. 9 to 21 when the NHL will shut down for the 4 Nations Face-Off, may allow Kaprizov to return well in advance of the playoffs.

The right path forward was still being figured out Monday night, according to a team source, but multiple sources close to Kaprizov said surgery is the likeliest outcome. Wild president of hockey operations and general manager Bill Guerin is expected to address the media at 11 a.m.

The Wild, who beat the Blackhawks 4-2 on Sunday with Kaprizov in the lineup, depart Minnesota on Tuesday afternoon to continue their five-game trip to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Boston.

Kaprizov missed 12 games from Dec. 27 to Jan. 20 because of the lower-body issue. Originally considered day-to-day, he left town several times to see specialists during the stretch.

He skated hard for two weeks and returned Jan. 23 against Utah. In three games since, he has no goals, two assists, eight shots and is minus-2, and the Wild are 1-2. Kaprizov logged 22 minutes, 17 seconds in Sunday’s victory at Chicago.

He has still looked dangerous but has lacked the usual explosiveness with his skating.

    Background on injury

Kaprizov was shut down coming out of the NHL’s holiday break with the lower-body injury. At the time, coach John Hynes said that Kaprizov was “banged up” heading into the holiday and “a little sore” but that there was no major concern. How long had it been lingering? “Not long,” Hynes said.

Guerin preached caution during Kaprizov’s rehab, noting the Wild would rather the Russian winger miss a few games in January and February than come back too soon and end up out long-term. It was a couple of weeks before Kaprizov began skating, and when he did, he skated mostly on his own or with other injured players. In the dozen games he missed, the Wild went 7-5.

When Kaprizov returned against Utah, he said it was tough to sit out but indicated he was good to go and had no limitations.

“Just something happened,” Kaprizov said. “I just don’t want to talk about this a lot. It’s now good.”

Kaprizov was asked if he thought this injury was something he wouldn’t have to worry about again. “Yeah,” he said. “Hope so.”

At the time of the injury, Kaprizov was a Hart Trophy front-runner and one of the top scorers in the league, with 23 goals and 50 points in 34 games.

“I just try don’t think about this,” Kaprizov said. “Now I’m just happy to come back. I don’t play one month. I don’t think about points or something like that. I just want to feel good in the game.”

    How injury impacts lineup

There’s no replacing Kaprizov, the team’s lone superstar. But the Wild managed to play above .500 hockey without him, including big wins in Dallas, Carolina, Washington and Colorado. They typically put Matt Boldy on the top line with Mats Zuccarello and Marco Rossi. Boldy will be expected to help pick up the slack for a team that has struggled this season with secondary scoring.

The good news is that Joel Eriksson Ek has broken out of his scoring slump with goals in back-to-back games. There’s nobody in AHL Iowa who’s going to come up and offer an immediate injection into the top six, though rookie Liam Ohgren has taken strides in recent games, showing he can make plays.

The Wild are still without Marcus Johansson (concussion), too, although he is closing in on a return.

If Kaprizov undergoes surgery, league sources say he could miss around six weeks.

That limits Minnesota’s cap space at the March 7 deadline in a couple of ways. One: If he’s put on long-term injured reserve in order to afford call-ups, the team can’t keep accruing cap space daily. Two: Since the injury likely isn’t season-ending, the Wild will eventually have his $9 million cap hit back on the books. That means they can’t use the LTIR space for a deadline deal since they’d have to become cap-compliant when Kaprizov is back.

So they wouldn’t be able to use Kaprizov’s chunk of space to, let’s say, go after a J.T. Miller or Brock Nelson.

The Minnesota Wild’s star forward, Kirill Kaprizov, was noticeably absent from practice today, sparking concern among fans and teammates. Sources close to the team are reporting that Kaprizov may be facing a possible surgery due to an undisclosed injury.

Kaprizov has been a standout player for the Wild this season, leading the team in scoring and earning a spot in the All-Star Game. His absence from practice has raised questions about the severity of his injury and the potential impact on the team’s playoff hopes.

While the team has not officially confirmed the need for surgery, the speculation is causing anxiety among Wild fans. Kaprizov’s dynamic play and offensive prowess have been key factors in the team’s success this season, and losing him for any length of time would be a significant blow.

As more information becomes available, Wild fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on Kaprizov’s condition and hoping for a speedy recovery. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.

  • Wild scoring leader Kirill Kaprizov headed for surgery

Wild scoring leader Kirill Kaprizov will be out week-to-week with surgery planned for a lower-body injury.

The team’s scoring leader has played the past three games at less full strength after sitting out 12 games before coming back last Thursday against Utah.

He was not on the ice for practice Tuesday at practice, and President of Hockey Operations Bill Guerin said the surgical procedure would keep Kaprizov sidelined a minimum of four weeks. It is not expected to be season-ending.

“The best thing to do is to shut him down right now for a little while, fix the problem, and then get him back at 100 percent,” Guerin said.

The Wild have six games remaining before a two-week break for the Four Nations Cup.

When Kaprizov returned last week, he didn’t discuss specifics of his injury.

“Just something happened,” he said then. “I just don’t want to talk about this a lot. It’s now good.”

At the time of his injury, the native of Russia was an NHL MVP frontrunner and among the top scorers in the league. His 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points lead the Wild in all categories.

Minnesota Wild fans were hit with some tough news today as it was announced that their star forward and scoring leader Kirill Kaprizov will be undergoing surgery. Kaprizov has been a standout player for the Wild this season, leading the team in goals and points.

The surgery is reportedly for a lingering lower-body injury that has been bothering Kaprizov for some time. While the exact nature of the injury has not been disclosed, the team is hopeful that the surgery will help alleviate the issue and allow Kaprizov to return to the ice at full strength.

Kaprizov has been a key player for the Wild this season, making a significant impact on the team’s offensive production. His absence will undoubtedly be felt, but the team is confident in their depth and ability to continue to compete in his absence.

Fans are wishing Kaprizov a speedy recovery and hoping to see him back on the ice soon. In the meantime, the Wild will need to rely on their other players to step up and fill the void left by their leading scorer.

  • Meet the Midwest Romantics Headed to the Pods for ‘Love Is Blind’ Season Eight

Netflix’s most popular dating show — and consequential, at least in terms of shaping the labor rights landscape of reality TV — is back, with Love Is Blind revealing its cast for Season Eight.

This year, the show is headed to Minneapolis with a cast of 32 Midwest singles who are ready to mingle via pod and hopefully find the love of their lives (and not get four minutes of awkward screen time before never being seeing again).

    More from Rolling Stone

To introduce the cast, Netflix has shared a three-minute teaser, in which the romantic hopefuls discuss things like how they’re family and friends describe them, what they’re looking for in a partner, and what they’re most nervous about. They also answer two of the most important questions: What gives them the ick, and what’s likely their most annoying trait?

For those craving even more information about these random strangers they’ll be binge watching next month, there are more in-depth bios for every contestant up on the Tudum website.

The first six episodes of Love Is Blind will fittingly premiere on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Episodes seven through nine will follow on Feb. 21, followed by 10 and 11 on Feb. 28; the finale airs March 7. Vanessa and Nick Lachey are slated to return as hosts.

While Love Is Blind has been a major hit for Netflix, it’s also courted some controversy. Most notably, Renee Poche, a former contestant, filed a lawsuit against Netflix and the show’s producers, alleging that her ex on the show was broke and abusive, but that producers did nothing about it (the show and its reps have denied the claims). The dispute, however, evolved into a labor matter, with Poche and another contestant, Nick Thompson, filing complaints with the National Labor Relations Board over allegedly unlawful contract provisions related to confidentiality and noncompete clauses.

Last December, the NLRB filed its own complaint against the Love Is Blind producers, and classified the show’s contestants as employees. That could allow those on reality TV shows to start organizing, a major change as several reality stars have recently accused major studios and production companies of exploitation and abuse.

  • How much snow is headed to Utah this weekend? – Deseret News

Snow is expected to fall along the Wasatch Front starting late Friday and continuing to early Saturday morning.

“We’ve got a cold front headed in early tomorrow morning that should stall out over the Wasatch Front,” according to KSL-TV meteorologist Matt Johnson. “Accompanying this front will be a band of snow that will wobble between Salt Lake City and Nephi, highest totals likely to fall in Utah Valley.”

The band of snow will dissipate during the day Saturday. Sunday should be dry, but rain and snow will move southwest, potentially ending a more than 50-day dry streak in St. George on Monday, he said.

    How much snow will fall?

    Logan to Bountiful: 0-1″

Salt Lake City to Nephi: trace-3″

Logan mountains to Bountiful mountains: 1-3″

Salt Lake City mountains to Nephi mountains: 4-8″

Johnson said dry weather will resume next week and the next best chance for a storm is around Feb. 2.

Will ski resorts in West get snow?

A storm will work its way into the Rockies from the north this weekend and will stall over the Southwest through early next week, according to OpenSnow meteorologist Alan Smith.

“In the West, the main feature over the next week will be a cutoff low setting up over the Great Basin and Southwest. Snow totals during this stretch will be highest across Colorado, while the SoCal Mountains and the Southwest could see some respectable snowfall as well,” Smith said.

A cutoff low is a nearly stationary low-pressure or storm system that can bring consistent weather, usually with precipitation, for several days, according to OpenSnow.

Ski areas in Colorado like Steamboat and Howelsen Hill could see about 10″ of snow over the next five days, OpenSnow says.

The five-day forecast for Utah ski resorts predicts 8″ at Brighton and 7″ at Alta, while Snowbird, Solitude, Deer Valley, Park City and Sundance could get 6″ and Brian Head 4″.

Resorts in northern Utah are expected to receive little, if any, snow.

  • Another ex-Yankees pitcher is headed to San Diego Padres

Another former Yankees pitcher is headed to San Diego.

On Friday, just two days after being designated for assignment by the White Sox, the Padres acquired Toms River, N.J. native Ron Marinaccio for cash, according to the team’s transaction log. Chicago had let him go to make room for left-hander Martín Pérez, whose 1-year, $5 million deal was officially announced this week.

BUY YANKEES TICKETS: STUBHUB, VIVID SEATS, TICKETMASTER

In San Diego, Marinaccio will be surrounded by familiar faces. Pitchers like Michael King, Wandy Peralta, Randy Vásquez, Jhony Brito, and utility man Tyler Wade are all former Yankees players to wind up with the Padres over the last few seasons. Catcher Kyle Higashioka was recently there too, but he signed a two-year, $13.5 million deal with the Texas Rangers in December.

Marinaccio struggled last season, where he was relegated to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for much of the campaign. He only made 16 big league appearances, posting a 3.86 ERA with 25 strikeouts over 23 1/3 innings.

The 29-year-old right-hander did excel in Triple-A Scranton, where he had a 2.04 ERA across 35 outings with 41 strikeouts last season.

The Yankees DFA’d Marinaccio last September in a corresponding move to make space for right-hander Cody Poteet. Poteet was later the centerpiece in the Yankees-Cubs trade for Cody Bellinger.

The White Sox claimed Marinaccio off waivers soon after, optioning him to Double-A Birmingham.

Yankees fan growing up, Marinaccio was drafted by the Yankees in the 19th round in 2017. Since then, he’s made three separate stops in the Bronx where he posted a career 3.22 ERA in 101 appearances with 137 strikeouts over 114 2/3 innings.

Marinaccio flashed his potential in pinstripes after making his debut in 2022, posting a 2.05 ERA over 40 appearances out of the bullpen.

Exciting news for San Diego Padres fans as another former New York Yankees pitcher is joining the team! With the recent addition of James Paxton, the Padres are continuing to bolster their pitching rotation with the acquisition of another talented arm.

Stay tuned for updates on this new signing and how it will impact the Padres’ quest for a World Series title in the upcoming season. Let’s go Padres! #SanDiegoPadres #MLB #PitchingPowerhouse

  • Libya Deports 613 Migrants Headed for Europe

The 613 men had traveled from their native Niger to neighboring Libya, where many of them planned to reach Europe over the Mediterranean Sea, a journey thousands of people from sub-Saharan Africa endeavor to make every year.

But late last month, the men were deported by Libyan authorities in one of the country’s largest expulsions in years. The mass deportation is part of a common pattern: North African governments, funded by the European Union to tackle migration, using brutal tactics to block sub-Saharan Africa migrants from heading to Europe.

The 613 men reached Niger’s closest town to the Libyan border on Jan. 3, disheveled and hungry, some barefoot and sick after months of detention and days of travel across the Sahara. Two of the men died shortly after arriving in Niger.

“I lived through hell,” said Salmana Issoufou, one of the men. Mr. Issoufou, 18, said he had been beaten by Libyan prison guards with wires and weapons throughout his eight-month detention.

As anti-migrant sentiment rises across Europe, from France to Germany to Hungary, the citizens of sub-Saharan Africa trying to reach the continent are being pushed back by North African governments in proportions unseen in years. The E.U. has signed bilateral agreements with Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Mauritania, that include financial support to curb migrant flows.

The strategy appears to be working: illegal border crossings dropped sharply in 2024, according to recent data from the European Union’s border agency, Frontex.

But rights groups say the methods being used to keep sub-Saharan migrants from traveling to Europe include well-documented human rights violations, such as so-called desert dumps. Migrants have been abandoned in the Sahara without food or water, or kept in North African prisons where they face torture, sexual violence and starvation.

Since Tunisia struck a deal with the European Union in 2023, it has dumped more than 12,000 people, including children and pregnant women, into deserted areas of Libya, according to the United Nations. Last year, the E.U. signed a similar deal with Mauritania.

In Libya, the European Union has financed the country’s coast guard, which has been accused of firing live ammunition during interceptions at sea and of handing migrants over to violent militias.

An investigation by a consortium of news outlets last year showed that vehicles and intelligence provided by E.U. countries have been used by North African security forces to arrest migrants or transport them to desert areas.

The 613 men who were sent back to Niger this month were detained in Libya since at least last fall, according to regional officials in Niger, who escorted them from the border to Dirkou, a Nigerien town about 260 miles south of Libya.

Two men died in Dirkou, according to Abba Tchéké, a social worker who assisted the men there and who works for Alarm Phone Sahara, a nonprofit that rescues stranded migrants in the desert.

The men reached Agadez, the largest city in Niger’s north and a major transit hub for migrants, last week. They were exhausted and dehydrated, and some had skin lesions and broken limbs. Half a dozen men who were deported all said in interviews with The New York Times that they had been mistreated by the Libyan authorities.

Adamou Harouna, 36, said prison guards had burned plastic on him while he was being held.

The mass deportation from Libya echoes similar movements from Algeria, which shares a 580-mile-long border with Niger and last year deported more than 31,000 people, the highest figure in years, according to Alarm Phone Sahara.

The Algerian authorities drop migrants at the border with Niger, forcing them to walk for hours in the desert before reaching the closest town. The migrants also face beatings and physical violence in Algerian prisons. (The European Union doesn’t have a migration agreement with Algeria.)

While expulsions from Libya to Niger have thus far been lower than from Algeria, the recent mass deportation has raised concerns about a potential increase. Last year, hundreds of African citizens were forcibly returned from Libya to Chad, Egypt, Sudan and Tunisia, according to the United Nations.

In Africa, deported migrants are returned to their home countries by the United Nations’ International Organization for Migration. In Niger, the organization transports people abandoned in border areas back to Agadez and later to their home countries on planes that depart several times a week.

For the Nigerien men, the organization arranged buses. Mr. Issoufou, 18, said he would remain in Niger. Mr. Harouna said he plans to travel back to Libya as soon as possible.

Ibrahim Manzo Diallo contributed reporting from Niamey, Niger, Saikou Jammeh from Dakar, Senegal, and Jenny Gross from London.

Libya Deports 613 Migrants Headed for Europe

In a recent development, Libya has deported 613 migrants who were attempting to make their way to Europe. These migrants were intercepted by Libyan authorities as they were trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea in makeshift boats.

The migrants, mostly from sub-Saharan Africa, were sent back to their countries of origin as part of Libya’s efforts to crack down on illegal migration. This move comes amidst increasing pressure on European countries to address the issue of migration and asylum seekers.

Libya has long been a major transit point for migrants trying to reach Europe, with many facing dangerous conditions and exploitation along the way. The country has been criticized for its treatment of migrants, with reports of abuse and human rights violations in detention centers.

This latest deportation of migrants highlights the challenges faced by those seeking a better life in Europe, as well as the complex issues surrounding migration and border control. It also raises questions about the responsibility of countries like Libya in addressing the root causes of migration and providing safe and legal routes for those in need of protection.

As the debate over migration continues, it is important to remember the human cost of these policies and to work towards more humane and sustainable solutions for those seeking refuge and opportunity.

  • Variance for new Fidelity location in former Barnes & Noble store headed to Naperville commission – Chicago Tribune

Fidelity Investments needs city permission before it can open part of its new location on the ground level of the former Barnes & Noble store in downtown Naperville.

The company’s request for a code variance for the 47 E. Chicago Ave. site goes before the Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission Wednesday night.

City code requires that the first floor of buildings in Naperville’s downtown district be limited to commercial purposes. Because Fidelity is a financial institution, it needs city permission to proceed with its plans.

Once commissioners offer their recommendation on the request, the issue goes to the Naperville City Council for a final vote. The soonest the matter could appear on a council agenda would be Feb. 4 or Feb. 18, according to Adam Beaver, a community planner for the city.

If approved, Fidelity would be moving from its existing location in the Naperville Investment Center at 1823 Freedom Drive. Its plan is to fill out the former Barnes & Noble building with both retail and office space, with the former taking 2,437 square feet of ground-floor space and offices filling second-floor space, according to a staff report prepared for Wednesday’s meeting.

“As a member of the Naperville business community for nearly two decades, we look forward to continuing to serve our local customers with an expanded space, meeting their growing demand for in-person service, as well as welcoming new customers working towards their financial goals,” a Fidelity spokesperson said in an emailed statement Tuesday.

Per project plans communicated to the city, the retail space would be designed to attract and serve walk-in customers in addition to providing an entrance to second-floor offices. On the first floor, people could work be able to make deposits, conduct account transactions and complete account-related documentation.

Though Fidelity is proposing the ground-level portion of plans to be retail-focused, the company itself is still a financial institution and requires a variance for its first-floor proposal, Beaver said. Due to the walk-in and retail services proposed, staff say they support the company’s request.

Six community members have voiced their opposition to the Fidelity plans in letters submitted prior to the meeting. The city also received one letter of support.

“Approving Fidelity’s appeal for a variance to this zoning code would be a missed opportunity to maximize the potential of this important space,” one opponent said.

“There (are) so many other places a bank can occupy that (are) not in the heart of our beautiful downtown. It’s bad enough the area (has) been under construction for so long,” another said.

Barnes & Noble closed its longtime downtown store in January 2024 when its lease expired. It plans to reopen this spring in the former Pottery Barn location at 9 W. Jackson Ave.

A few months later after the closure, real estate broker Nathan Tonnies — representing 47 E. Chicago Ave’s San Diego-based property landlord LLJ Venture — confirmed that both Fidelity and Wells Fargo had signed long-term corporate leases for different portions of the building.

While Fidelity seeks variance approval, Wells Fargo is going through permitting process, according to Allison Laff, deputy director of Naperville’s Transportation, Engineering and Development department.

Its first permit request was sumbitted Dec. 11 but rejected, Laff said. The city is awaiting the resubmission of technical drawings, she said.

  • Dennis Allen headed to the Windy City?

Former Saints head coach Dennis Allen headed to the Windy City?

All right, let’s do some who, what, when, where, why all the questions, Katherine, when it comes to the Saints salary cap. How in world do they get on the cap? I know they’re not 100 million over the cap like *** few years ago. Well, you know, salary cap is my favorite topic. I write *** piece every single year about how they get under, so maybe the Saints are helping me stay employed by doing this every year, but this year actually surprisingly is not as bad, just like you said. They started out the offseason predicted to be around 65 million. That’s just based on an estimated cap. They already made one major move and that was restructuring Ryan Rammchek, who did the same thing that Drew Brees did in 2021, lowered his base salary, which is an indication that he could. tire due to his, you know, knee injuries that prevented him from playing in 2024, and they’ll have more moves to come. Major moves. What other major moves can the Saints make to get underneath the cap? Well, first of all, they have $17 million in dead money potentially pending, and it depends on whether they resigned Chase Young, resign Tano, resign Jaan Johnson. And so that’s one thing, but obviously they’re going to have *** few restructures potentially with some of the younger players, and then they’ll have to make *** few cuts. The older players are the interesting topic here because *** lot of older players are tying up *** significant portion of the salary cap. When the Saints entered this offseason before the Ryan Rammchek move, it was *** 140 million in salary cap hits just for six players. So it’s not easily fixable, but obviously the Saints will figure out *** way to do it by March. The next big question, quarterback Derek Carr. What is it? 51 1.4 million this year. That is *** lot of money. What do they do with Derek Carr? Do they bring him back? Did they restructure? You already asked him about taking *** pay cut, and that was that was *** pretty definite no. So what do they do? Well, I think that what I would do if I was *** salary cap manager is you would move forward with Derek Carr at 51.4 million. I know that’s *** huge salary cap hit, however, then you can move on from him more easily next year. And the reason I say that is because the Saints don’t have the first pick in the draft, as Mickey Loomis said, they don’t have an easy way to get *** slam dunk. quarterback. It really is going to depend on *** few factors though. Who does the next head coach want? Does the next head coach want to go with someone like Jake Hayner or Spencer Rattler? Do they want to try to move up in the draft, or do they think, well, we’ll use Derek Carr as *** bridge quarterback and then kind of start moving on in earnest in 2026. There’s really *** lot of ways and things that could happen before that Derek Carr decision is made. Keyword here, I don’t think Mickey Loomis really likes this word rebuilds. Do they rebuild? He’s never liked that word. I think, uh, what was it? 10 years ago. It wasn’t Mickey, but Drey said the window was slammed open, and I think that they continue to think that way. The problem is it’s hard to rebuild the NFL. Everyone wants to say, oh, let’s just tear it down to the studs. Well, with the salary cap, it’s hard to do because of the dead money hits that come with restructuring and then trying to move on from those players early. So the way to rebuild is to to stop doing that, to try to just basically take your lumps this year and then 2026, you have not *** clean slate, but *** much easier slate to manage. So I’m assuming here. That that maybe they’re somewhat of players in free agency, but this is where they have to do their damage to get this roster back is in the NFL draft like they did in 2017 and even back in 2006. Yeah, I totally agree that they shouldn’t be huge players in free agency. I thought that last year and they kind of surprised everyone by going and spending *** lot of money on Chase Young. I think that this draft is so important, and you could say that every year. But the Saints haven’t really hit on *** lot of drafts lately, so they need that they need this draft to hit and these guys on rookie contracts to be able to kind of help massage the salary cap in the next few years. You know, the one thing Mickey Loomis says is getting things right. They want to get back into the playoffs. He has *** lot of pressure to, you know, make this franchise *** winning franchise again. It’s been 4 years. The pressure starts to add up and add up after years of not getting into the postseason. How long, much longer does he stay as the GM? How much longer do you think he wants to do this? He was asked about retirement. He said, no, if I can’t do it, then maybe I’ll think about it. Well, I was joking how last year Mickey Loomis said that everyone needed to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, and then this year he said he was comfortably uncomfortable. So I, I don’t know what we’ll hear next year, but I think that everyone kind of should be on edge, you know, from the front office down to. You know, whatever coaches remain here next year because if they don’t make *** great coaching hire and hit on this draft, then they’ll be right back in this position in *** few years and I think Mickey Loomis, who’s already getting *** lot of scrutiny, will probably start getting more internal scrutiny. But you know, for now it seems like they’re comfortable kind of moving ahead with their current front office structure. This is *** crystal ball question how far away is this franchise from being *** competitive franchise again? Well, you see franchises all the time turn around quickly when you make the right moves. Uh, you saw that with Denver, uh, Detroit, now look at them after where they were just *** few years ago. You know, the right coach and hitting on the draft can turn things around immediately, but I do think that this is going to be harder with the state of the salary cap, just *** lot of different areas going on. So. I would be surprised if they’re suddenly able to turn it into *** winning season next year, but I think if they make the right moves within, you know, maybe the next few years, starting to clean slate in 2026, you might be able to start building back up. All right. She is Catherine Terrell from ESPN answering all your questions about the cap, free agency, draft, every question that we can possibly ask. Thanks, Kat. Thanks for having me on back to you.

Rumors are swirling that former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen could be headed to the Windy City to join the Chicago Bears coaching staff. With the Bears parting ways with defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano, Allen’s name has been floated as a potential replacement.

Allen has an impressive coaching resume, including stints as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders and as a defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos before joining the Saints. Under Allen’s leadership, the Saints defense has consistently been one of the best in the league.

If Allen does make the move to Chicago, it could be a game-changer for the Bears defense. His aggressive and innovative coaching style could help elevate the Bears’ defense to new heights and make them a force to be reckoned with in the NFC North.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as we await official confirmation of Dennis Allen’s potential move to the Windy City.
