  • Andrew Carr introduces his fiancée to Big Blue Nation in a heartwarming moment

Andrew Carr introduces his fiancée to Big Blue Nation in a heartwarming moment

Andrew Carr took advantage of the trip to New York City to make his longtime girlfriend his fiancee. He actually wasn’t the only Wildcat basketball player to do so, as Collin Chandler also got engaged to his girlfriend in the Big Apple. After the Brown game, Genevieve – Carr’s fiancee, was standing off to the side as he was being interviewed, and Mark Pope encouraged him to introduce her to Big Blue Nation. In a very wholesome moment, Carr is beaming as he introduces Genevieve.

She was already a part of Big Blue Nation, rooting on her boyfriend and now her future husband, but Pope and Carr wanted you to meet her. It may have been the biggest smile Kentucky fans have ever seen from Carr. He’s normally a happy player, but bringing his future wife up puts a rare glimmer into his smile.

Carr was also asked about his sister transferring to Kentucky and was thrilled by the reality of Lizzie coming to play volleyball for the Wildcats.

“You know it’s awesome…I fell in love with BBN and being able to shed some light on that for my sister. She was able to make her own decision to come here. She’s super excited to be able to be here in January. Carrs are Wildcats forever now. “

    Andrew Carr

Carr had a great game today against Brown and maybe all the good news that’s happening in his life is really helping take his game to the next level or turn on an extra gear. He had 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. An absolute stat-stuffing appearance by Carr.

In an interview with BBN Tonight, Carr talked about turning the corner and heading into conference play. “I just love playing with this team… I think the cool part is we’re not done getting better… we’ve done a great job this year of continuing to learn from our mistakes.” Watch the full interview below:

Great end to 2024 for Andrew Carr, here’s to a huge year for him in 2025!

Last night was a special night for Andrew Carr as he introduced his fiancée to the Big Blue Nation for the first time. The crowd erupted in cheers as the couple made their way to their seats, surrounded by friends and family.

As the game went on, Andrew couldn’t help but sneak glances at his fiancée, watching her cheer on the Wildcats with enthusiasm. The love and support between them was palpable, and it was clear that they were meant to be together.

At halftime, Andrew stood up and took the microphone, his voice filled with emotion as he spoke about his fiancée and how grateful he was to have her by his side. The crowd erupted in applause, showing their support for the happy couple.

It was a heartwarming moment that reminded everyone in the arena of the power of love and the importance of sharing special moments with those we care about. And as the final buzzer sounded and the Wildcats secured a victory, Andrew and his fiancée stood together, united in their love and their shared passion for the Big Blue Nation.

‘Twas the night before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin, and all through the office
Not a creature was stirring, not even a Dwight Schrute in his beet farm profits.

The paper was stacked by the copier with care,
In hopes that Michael Scott soon would be there.

Pam in her sweater, and Jim in his tie,
Were settling in for a long winter’s night.

When out in the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
Creed sprang from his desk to see what was the matter.

Away to the window he flew like a flash,
Tore open the blinds and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave a luster of midday to objects below.

When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
They knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

“Now, Dunder! Now, Mifflin! Now, Dwight and Angela!
On, Stanley! On, Phyllis! On, Kevin and Pam!

To the top of the roof! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

So up to the roof the coursers they flew,
With a sleigh full of toys, and Saint Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, they heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As Michael burst in with a “That’s what she said,”
Saint Nick came down the chimney with presents instead.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes — how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

He had a broad face and a round little belly,
That shook, when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And they laughed when they saw him, in spite of themselves.

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave them to know they had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But they heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

So if you’re a fan of The Office and holiday cheer,
This retelling of Christmas is sure to bring you cheer.

With laughs and heartwarming moments galore,
It’s the perfect gift for fans to adore.

Merry Christmas from Dunder Mifflin to you,
And may all your holiday wishes come true!

  • I just found the one heartwarming movie I’ll be watching every New Year’s Eve

I just found the one heartwarming movie I’ll be watching every New Year’s Eve

I’ll be the first to admit that most years, you’ll find me enjoying a few drinks and ringing in the New Year with friends. But some years, I’d much rather stay in, snuggle up under a blanket and watch a heartwarming movie to welcome the new year. And this time around? That’s exactly what I’ll be doing when the clock strikes midnight.

“Begin Again” is my movie choice for welcoming 2025. I only recently discovered this drama, and while it isn’t set on New Year’s Eve and doesn’t revolve around celebrations, its themes really resonate this time of year — in particular, the ideas of embracing change and becoming a better version of yourself. It’s the perfect reflection of the “new year, new me” mindset, but “Begin Again” goes much deeper than that. Plus, Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo make an incredibly charming duo on screen, and they’re a pairing you won’t want to miss.

As someone who loves cozying up on the couch with a feel-good movie, I am thrilled to announce that I have found the one heartwarming film that will become a yearly tradition on New Year’s Eve.

After much searching and watching countless movies, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that captured my heart and left me feeling warm and fuzzy inside. The movie is filled with touching moments, beautiful cinematography, and a heartfelt message that resonates with me deeply.

From now on, every New Year’s Eve, I will be snuggled up with a bowl of popcorn and a box of tissues, watching this heartwarming film that never fails to put a smile on my face and bring tears to my eyes. It’s a movie that reminds me of the importance of love, family, and the power of second chances.

I can’t wait to continue this tradition for years to come and share this special movie with my loved ones. If you’re looking for a movie that will warm your heart and fill you with joy, I highly recommend adding this gem to your list of must-watch films. Cheers to a new tradition and many more cozy movie nights ahead!

  • Outer Banks mainstay The Jolly Roger continues decades-old ‘heartwarming’ Christmas Day tradition

Outer Banks mainstay The Jolly Roger continues decades-old ‘heartwarming’ Christmas Day tradition

KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. — Fred and Peggy Matthis have been vacationing in the Outer Banks for decades, but this year, they decided to celebrate Christmas a little differently by spending the holiday alone.

“We actually just decided we were going to spend Christmas by ourselves. We have six children and 12 grandchildren,” Fred said.

“Get out of dodge. Have time to ourselves,” added Peggy.

The Matthis couple, who live in Pittsburgh, made the trip to the Outer Banks to enjoy the holiday season and take advantage of local traditions, including The Jolly Roger Restaurant’s commitment to being open on Christmas Day for decades.

“We said, ‘Let’s go down here and see what it’s like for Christmas.’ We’ve always heard it’s really nice, and then this is our favorite place to eat, right here. We come here every morning,” Fred explained.

Owner Carol Ann’s motivation to remain open originated from a personal experience when she found herself alone on Christmas one year, unable to find an open restaurant.

“Well, there was one particular Christmas Day that she was by herself, and the restaurant was closed, and she wanted Christmas dinner. She ended up eating a hot dog from 7-Eleven,” said Andrea Sullivan, general manager of The Jolly Roger Restaurant. “She vowed that she would not be closed on any more Christmases so that people without a place to go or who don’t want to cook could have somewhere to enjoy a meal.”

For many, Christmas at The Jolly Roger is about enjoying time with family while savoring the restaurant’s offerings.

“Very good food and very good Bloody Mary too,” commented Connie Pentek, a local resident.

Regardless of the reason for their visit, patrons are grateful for the opportunity to dine out on Christmas Day, which fosters a special sense of community for the restaurant staff.

“I’ll try not to cry, but it is, it’s very heartwarming just to see the same people,” Sullivan said. “They patronize us all year long, but they come in for Christmas because they love it.”

Every year on Christmas Day, locals and visitors alike gather at The Jolly Roger in the Outer Banks to partake in a decades-old tradition that warms the heart and spreads holiday cheer.

The Jolly Roger, a beloved mainstay in the Outer Banks, has been hosting a special Christmas Day event for as long as anyone can remember. The day starts with a festive brunch featuring all the traditional holiday favorites, from roasted turkey and stuffing to cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

After brunch, guests are invited to participate in a heartwarming tradition that truly embodies the spirit of Christmas. Each year, The Jolly Roger team collects donations of food, clothing, and toys to be distributed to families in need throughout the Outer Banks community. It’s a beautiful display of generosity and compassion that reminds everyone of the true meaning of the holiday season.

The atmosphere at The Jolly Roger on Christmas Day is always filled with joy and goodwill, as friends and strangers come together to celebrate and give back to those less fortunate. It’s a special day that has become a cherished tradition for many in the Outer Banks, and one that will surely continue for many years to come.

So if you find yourself in the Outer Banks next Christmas, be sure to stop by The Jolly Roger and join in the festivities. You’ll not only enjoy a delicious meal and a fun-filled day, but you’ll also be part of a tradition that brings joy and hope to the community.
