Jared Goff helps NFC take Pro Bowl Games lead
ORLANDO, Fla. — With the Super Bowl just over a week away, the possibility of the Kansas City Chiefs becoming the first team in NFL history to three-peat by beating the Philadelphia Eagles is a huge storyline, but Eli Manning is trying to steal that thunder this weekend.
Manning is the NFC coach at the Pro Bowl Games, and he’s trying to score his own three-peat over his brother, Peyton, who coaches the AFC. Eli is in good position to accomplish his goal after the NFC took a 14-7 lead Thursday night at the skills challenge.
“The heart, the preparation, the commitment of these guys, they’ve been grinding,” Eli said after the skills event at the University of Central Florida’s Nicholson Fieldhouse. “They’re looking forward to this. They want the three-peat.
“Everybody’s been talking about the Kansas City three-peat, but really, all eyes are on the Pro Bowl for the NFC three-peat right now.”
The NFC won the first two events to take a 6-0 lead, with Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff putting up 44 points in the passing competition and Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson, Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride and Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson winning the Satisfying Catches competition.
“We feel good,” Jefferson said. “They tried to cheat us a little bit, but we didn’t trip on it and still got the dub.”
The New York Jets’ Quinnen Williams finally got the AFC on the board by winning the Big Spike competition to cut the NFC’s lead to 6-3.

Jets DT Quinnen Williams wins spike competition of Pro Bowl Games with a powerful throw.
The NFC won the Helmet Harmony competition in which teammates tried to match answers to put the NFC up 9-3. The NFC won two of the three relay races to take an 11-4 lead, and the highlight of that event was the Bosa brothers — Joey from the Los Angeles Chargers and Nick from the San Francisco 49ers — speedwalking the first leg of their heat because Joey Bosa said he felt tight before the race began.
The NFC and AFC split dodgeball games, and each earned three points.
The competition concludes Sunday (3 p.m. ET, ABC/ESPN) with three more events as well as the flag football game.
In a thrilling display of skill and talent, Jared Goff led the NFC to a commanding lead in the Pro Bowl Games. The star quarterback showcased his precision passing and strategic decision-making, guiding his team to victory over the AFC.Goff’s leadership on the field was undeniable, as he connected with his teammates for multiple touchdowns and crucial plays throughout the game. His performance was a testament to his dedication and hard work, solidifying his reputation as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
With Goff at the helm, the NFC team demonstrated their dominance and determination to come out on top in the Pro Bowl Games. Fans and analysts alike were impressed by Goff’s performance, recognizing his impact on the outcome of the game.
As the Pro Bowl Games continue, all eyes will be on Jared Goff and his team as they look to maintain their lead and secure the victory. Stay tuned for more exciting moments and standout performances from Goff and the rest of the NFC squad.

If you were in class yesterday, you undoubtedly had the same thought I did around 10 p.m. last night …
Holy crap, how did Zach end Nightcaps class earlier today?
Yep, me too. Like this, for those wondering:
“I hope we don’t get to (add to the list), but, unfortunately, I’m sure we will. “
Obviously, that was in reference to adding to our ongoing aviation list – something I started last year because I hate flying and staunchly believe we need to Make Road Trips Great Again. Five hours later, as I was scrolling Twitter during Hulu commercials, I saw what was unfolding in Washington.
Sickening. I know I’ve long joked about how much I despise flying, but this one really hit home. Makes me so sad. What happened last night was the stuff I literally have nightmares about. Seriously. Multiple times a year. I can’t even fathom being on that plane. Or that helicopter. Or – perhaps worse yet – knowing someone on either.
Today isn’t the day for answers, because we won’t get any. Not sure when we will. I don’t wanna play that game today.
Before we start class and get to the jokes and the girls and the nonsense (much-needed today, by the way), I just wanna say the official Nightcaps position on the DC plane tragedy is that it is beyond sad, and stuff like that should not happen in this country.
Not here. Not America. It makes me sick, and angry, and, frankly, a bit uninspired to pump out #content today.
But, we need the #content, so let’s do what we do best and pump it out like the Patriots we are. Let’s roll.
Welcome to a Thursday Nightcaps – the one where we confirm Tulsi Gabbard with Danica Patrick and go from there.
What else? I’ve got Kristin Cavallari on a beach – which is always fun – RFK Jr. ripping some nicotine whilst getting his ass chewed out by looney Liz Warren, and Kay Adams just added another weapon to her arsenal that has the internet on high alert.
If anyone can lift spirits today, it’s Queen Kay. Like the bat signal, she responded like the superhero she is. Legend.
Pour you a drink – and then pour it out for everyone involved in last night’s tragedy – refill it, and then settle in for a Thursday ‘Cap:
RFK is one of us!
You know what we all need on a day like today? Enough nicotine to slaughter a horse stuffed in our bottom lip. Hell, that’s me, every day.
I’m a Rogue guy. I know Zyns are the hot thing, but those are garbage. Sorry, but they are. The MSM wants to tell you they’re good. They’re not good.
Rogues are the top of the food chain when it comes to nicotine pouches. Not even close. And don’t you even bother coming at me with any “Velo” talk. That won’t be tolerated here. Not in this class. Not as long as I run it.
Anyway, when I throw in my first Wintergreen pouch of the day at 7 a.m., and then wash it down with some black Maxwell House, I feel like I could take on the world. Now, I have to immediately shit – but after that, I’m ready to smash some skulls.
So when I saw RFK Jr. throw one in yesterday as insufferable Elizabeth Warren was shouting at him for 10 minutes straight, it was maybe the most relatable thing I’ve ever seen:
Let’s stay on the Hill for a bit
We’ve all been there, fellas. The missus is PISSED that you asked to go play 18 with the boys when you have a messy-ass house and unruly kids, and she starts to let you HAVE IT. Or, worse yet, she gives you the quick “sure, do whatever you want” response with no eye-contact. Frankly, I’d rather the yelling.
When that happens, you have to just sit there and take it, much like Bobby did here with Fauxcahontas (a student told me yesterday that’s Warren’s true nickname, so I’m giving it a spin).
You can’t get a word in edge-wise because she’s so irate. You don’t want to make things worse by saying something stupid, so you just have to ride out the storm and hope the sun peaks through on the other side.
The good news is, you have a tin of delicious nicotine in your back pocket, and it’s all you can think about. You need it like you need air to breathe. It’s the only way you’re getting through this.
That’s what happened to RFK here. And he even nailed the discretionary part, which ain’t easy to do. Seasoned vet. Respect.
MAHA!
OK, let’s check in with Danica and Tulsi, who are both taking on the establishment as we speak. Get ’em, girls!
Kristin, Kay & Jimmy, oh my!
I’ll be honest, I have little to no clue about Tulsi Gabbard. Frankly, the only time I ever even heard her name was years ago when my old neighbor – who spent most of his nights passed out on his lawn – had a Gabbard sticker on the back of his car. Seriously, that’s it.
But, if Danica and Nancy are #TeamTulsi, I certainly am, too. Is that the best way to form a political opinion? Probably not. But it’s the life I’ve decided to lead.
Now let’s get Tulsi and Ka$h confirmed so we can get this country back on track!
Rapid-fire time on the way out. First up? Look who’s ready for summer:
Been a while since Kristin came to class. Welcome back! Don’t be such a stranger next time. Last time we heard from Kristin, she was talking about how great Morgan Wallen was in the sack. What a pistol.
Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Now, let’s check in with Kay Adams, who rocked the internet with a pair of glasses this morning that, frankly, I didn’t see coming:
Kay adding glasses to her arsenal is the equivalent of the Dodgers adding Roki Sasaki to their rotation. Did they need him? Nope. They were the best team in baseball before, and they still are now.
But did they get better? Absolutely. Dominant effort here from Kay. It’s why she’s a Nightcaps vet. She spent the offseason working on a 12-6 curveball to go along with her triple-digit heat, and now the rest of the league is cooked. It’s over. Glasses Kay is here, and she ain’t going anywhere.
Power move.
Finally, I know you’ve all been jonesing to watch Morning Joe and Jimmy Kimmel shoot the shit together, so here you go.
You are welcome!
You simply do not hate them enough. It’s not possible. All the late night wackos are bad at this point, but Jimmy is so beyond insufferable it’s almost impressive.
Almost.
OK, that’s it for today. Tough one, but we got through it. Here’s some more Kristin to take us home.
See you tomorrow.
OutKick Nightcaps is a daily column set to run Monday through Friday at 4 p.m. (roughly, we’re not robots).

Danica Patrick Helps Tulsi Crush The Libs In A Black DressFormer NASCAR driver Danica Patrick made headlines recently when she showed her support for presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard by wearing a sleek black dress at a campaign event. The combination of Patrick’s fierce attitude and Gabbard’s no-nonsense policies seemed to strike a chord with many voters, especially those who were tired of the same old political games.
The image of Patrick and Gabbard together, both strong, independent women unafraid to take on the establishment, quickly went viral on social media. Supporters of the two women praised their boldness and determination, while critics scrambled to come up with reasons to dismiss them.
But as the saying goes, actions speak louder than words, and Patrick and Gabbard are definitely proving that with their powerful partnership. With Patrick’s help, Gabbard is sure to continue crushing the libs and making a name for herself in the political arena.
So watch out, establishment politicians – Danica Patrick and Tulsi Gabbard are coming for you, and they’re not taking any prisoners.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Suns and Devin Booker’s charity have made a north Phoenix park a little more beautiful with a renovated basketball court.
The official unveiling was held on Tuesday afternoon at Palomino Park, located on 30th Street just north of Greenway Road.
The remodeled court is now orange and black with white baselines, sidelines and three-point lines.
One side says, “Be Legendary,” while the other side says, “Booker.”
Different icons on the court are some of Booker’s favorite things, including the head of Booker’s dog Haven, a camcorder, his Nike shoes called the Book 1s, a Detroit hat and a lowrider car.
Before, the court was only concrete and missing the basketball hoops.
The court transformation was made possible through the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation and Booker’s Starting 5 initiative, a $2.5 million pledge to the community.
Booker didn’t speak at the event, but hundreds of people lined up to get a photo with him or shake his hand.
After the ceremony, kids got to enjoy the one-of-a-kind court, plus there were food trucks, vendors and other family-friendly activities.

Devin Booker, star player for the Phoenix Suns, is not only making waves on the basketball court but also in the community. His charity, the Devin Booker Starting Five Initiative, recently partnered with the City of Phoenix to renovate a local basketball court in need of some love. The court, located in the heart of the city, had fallen into disrepair over the years. Cracks in the pavement, faded lines, and broken hoops made it nearly impossible for the local youth to enjoy playing basketball in a safe and inviting environment.
Thanks to Devin Booker’s generosity and dedication to giving back, the court received a much-needed makeover. The pavement was resurfaced, new backboards and hoops were installed, and fresh paint was applied to the lines. The once neglected court now shines bright and is a welcoming space for the community to come together and enjoy the game of basketball.
Devin Booker’s commitment to improving the lives of those in his community is truly inspiring. By using his platform to make a positive impact, he is not only a role model on the court but also off the court. Thank you, Devin Booker, for your continued dedication to giving back and making a difference in Phoenix.

SAN FRANCISCO — Nearly a week ago, Lakers coach JJ Redick and LeBron James spoke about the margins of the game, the things that help provide cushion and cover for a team when it’s not perfect. Both said, internally, there weren’t great options for the Lakers to extend those margins.
In some ways, only a massive roster reconstruction would fix the problem. James will always be 40. Anthony Davis will always have his issues in transition defense because of the way he crashes toward the hoop. The Lakers will always lose the mathematical battle because of their lower volume of three-point attempts.
But on Saturday, one player showed in his first 12 minutes of the season the ways he could provide the Lakers with a little more room for error.
Jarred Vanderbilt, out since Feb. 1 because of foot injuries, checked in during the second quarter of the Lakers’ 118-108 win over the Golden State Warriors and immediately made an impact, delivering a much-needed boost that his skill set can provide.
“Vando was awesome,” Redick said. “Did all the things that we need him to do.”
Vanderbilt’s only bucket came on an offensive rebound, but he had three steals and four rebounds, extending possessions on the offensive end and closing them out on the defensive side.
“I knew I might be a little rusty coming in and as far as rhythm and knowing the plays and all that stuff,” Vanderbilt said. “So my main goal was just to go in there and play hard. Bring the energy and then everything else — just control the controllable and everything else will play its hand.”
It was these little things he provided that stood out as the Lakers turned in another 48 minutes of good basketball to win their third straight game.
“It looked like he didn’t miss a beat,” James said. “I mean, he’s flying around. What he does don’t even always show up in the box score.”
Vanderbilt’s contributions proved valuable for a Lakers team that was forced to make starter Rui Hachimura a late scratch because of a calf injury.
Max Christie and Gabe Vincent, two other players tasked with helping the Lakers with the little things, defended Stephen Curry wonderfully, limiting the Warriors star to 13 points on four-for-17 shooting, Curry missing all eight of his second-half attempts.
“It’s Steph, man,” James said. “Just hope that he miss. Put bodies in front of him and just hope that he miss.”
Davis dominated the Warriors’ depleted frontcourt, which was missing Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green, for 36 points and 13 rebounds. James had 25 points and 12 assists and Austin Reaves had 16 points and seven assists.
“The last two games, our three best players have played really well and everyone else has starred in their roles,” Redick said. “And that’s what a great team is, is guys starring in their roles. And so for Vando, him starring his role, Gabe starring his role, Max Christie starring his role, Jaxson Hayes starring his role, all those guys. … That creates a margin for us to become a great team.”
The Lakers (25-18) continue their Grammys trip Monday in Charlotte.
“We have to be ready to play every single game, regardless of who we’re playing,” Reaves said. “We need to go into every game playing to continue to get better. And we can’t take our foot off the gas. We gotta do that every single game and hopefully we have a good trip.”
In a thrilling matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors, Jarred Vanderbilt made his return to the court and played a crucial role in lifting the Lakers to a victory.Vanderbilt, who had been sidelined with an injury for the past few weeks, showed no signs of rust as he made his presence felt on both ends of the court. His energy and hustle were contagious, as he crashed the boards, made key defensive stops, and provided a spark off the bench.
Despite a strong performance from the Warriors, the Lakers were able to pull away in the fourth quarter thanks to Vanderbilt’s contributions. His impact was felt all over the court, and his teammates fed off his energy to secure the win.
With Vanderbilt back in the lineup, the Lakers look like a much stronger and more cohesive team. His versatility and athleticism make him a valuable asset, and his return couldn’t have come at a better time as the team looks to make a push for the playoffs.
Overall, it was a memorable night for Vanderbilt and the Lakers as they came together to secure a hard-fought victory over a tough opponent. With Vanderbilt back in the mix, the Lakers are poised to make some noise in the postseason.

WINSTON-SALEM — Seated on the dais inside the Gene Overby press room at Joel Coliseum, Duke coach Jon Scheyer turned to Cooper Flagg and asked him a question.
“Have you ever played zone?” Scheyer said after Duke basketball’s 63-56 win at Wake Forest.
“Nope,” Flagg said.
Well, Flagg and the second-ranked Blue Devils (17-2, 9-0 ACC) played zone against the Demon Deacons (15-5, 7-2).
Trailing by six points midway through the second half, Duke had to try something — anything — in an attempt to slow down the surging Demon Deacons and quiet a riled up sea of tie-dyed shirts.

HOW DUKE BEAT WF:Cooper Flagg, Duke basketball avoid court-storming scenario with win at Wake Forest
So, Duke went to a 2-3 zone defense, and it worked.
“We haven’t played it. We’ve played it one possession all year,” Scheyer said. “We’ve kept it in our back pocket, just in case. It’s good to have a curveball, it just is.”
Wake Forest went 1-for-6 shooting when the Blue Devils were in their zone, with the lone make coming on a Juke Harris free-throw-line jumper that hit several parts of the rim before falling through the net.
In that stretch, Duke had a 12-2 run, with six of those points coming from Flagg.
“We’ll have it in our back pocket. But I give these guys credit, you still have to make it work,” Scheyer said. “We haven’t practiced it too much, but we’ve had it in our back pocket, just in case. The coaching staff said, ‘Let’s do it,’ and I thought it was great timing to go to the zone.”
Scheyer said going to a zone “was a feeling for this game,” something the Blue Devils practiced later in the week leading up to Saturday.
Like Flagg, fellow freshman Kon Knueppel “never played zone” in high school. Throughout this season at Duke, Knueppel said the Blue Devils have practiced it “sparingly, here and there, not crazy often. But we did this week.”
During those tense moments in the second half, Flagg and Knueppel said Purdue transfer Mason Gillis and junior guard Tyrese Proctor were the calming voices in Duke’s tight huddles.
Duke missed its first 13 shots of the second half, going 1 of 19 during a stretch as Wake Forest surged ahead with a 23-4 run to take a six-point lead.
Once Duke mixed in some zone, in the final seven minutes, the Blue Devils responded to their challenging stretch with a 17-4 run and Wake Forest made three shots the rest of the way. The Demon Deacons missed six shots in a row from just under the 7-minute mark until there were 41 seconds left in the game.
Duke had a season-low point total, more turnovers (16) than assists (14) and saw its primary centers — Khaman Maluach and Patrick Ngongba — on the bench in foul trouble.
The Blue Devils won anyway.
“Coach (Scheyer) even said in the locker room, we didn’t throw away the game, we didn’t put our heads down,” said Gillis, who had 11 points and six rebounds.
“We were able to look each other in the eye and say, ‘We got this, we’re gonna win the game.’ We went out there and executed.”
The zone, which Gillis called a “wrinkle,” is the type of tweak that’s often required in a grind-it-out game.
It’s a tool and trick that could help the Blue Devils in the NCAA Tournament.
“Everything we’re doing right now, we’re getting ready for March,” said Gillis, who has played more games (151) than anyone on Duke’s roster.
“That was a March-style game right there.”
