  • Adam Sandler and Bad Bunny Hit the Links in Netflix’s New Look at ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

Adam Sandler has some help on the golf course in Netflix’s newly released look at its upcoming comedy sequel Happy Gilmore 2.

The streaming service shared a new sneak-peek image from the forthcoming film on Thursday, coinciding with the company sharing its plans for movie, TV and game projects in the coming year. In director Kyle Newacheck’s sequel, Sandler reprises his role as the titular unlikely golf sensation that he originated in Universal’s 1996 film Happy Gilmore. Filming for the project wrapped last month.

    More from The Hollywood Reporter

As seen in the new still below, Sandler is ready to take one of his character’s signature golf swings while getting caddy assistance from Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, also known as singer Bad Bunny. Another image, which is above, shows Sandler facing off with longtime rival Shooter McGavin, with actor Christopher McDonald reprising his role from the initial movie.

A premise has not yet been released for the film, which Netflix announced Thursday is set to debut later this year. (Sandler previously hinted at a possible summer release.) Other castmembers for Happy Gilmore 2 include Julie Bowen, Margaret Qualley, Travis Kelce, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutowsky, Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Philip Fine Schneider. Dennis Dugan, who directed the original film and executive produces the sequel, will have a role in the new movie as well.

Returning to produce the sequel are Sandler, Tim Herlihy, Robert Simonds and Jack Giarraputo. Sandler and Herlihy wrote the screenplay for Happy Gilmore 2 after having penned the original film’s script.

During an interview with the Dan Patrick Show that aired last month, Sandler admitted to feeling pressure to live up to the first film.

“It’s on your mind,” the star said at the time. “We’ve got a lot of good stuff, and we just want to make sure that it all comes together and keeps it going from start to finish, and that’s the goal. We’ll see. We’re definitely nervous, but we feel some sort of confidence.”

  • Apple to report Q1 earnings a week after stock hit with multiple downgrades

Apple (AAPL) is set to announce its first quarter earnings after the bell on Thursday amid concerns that iPhone sales aren’t getting the kind of boost from its Apple Intelligence platform that investors initially hoped.

Both Jefferies and Loop Capital downgraded Apple’s stock last week, with Jefferies analyst Edison Lee saying he expects Apple to report lower-than-anticipated results for the December quarter and miss on expectations for the second quarter.

Oppenheimer also downgraded shares on Wednesday, citing slower iPhone growth pressured by competition in China and a lack of AI innovation to catalyze a new upgrade cycle.

According to estimates by IDC and Canalys, overall iPhone market share fell 1% year over year in Q4 to 23% despite the broader market for smartphone shipments increasing by 3%. Apple kicked off its big AI push in October, releasing the first raft of its Apple Intelligence updates.

The software was meant to serve as a key feature to entice consumers to upgrade to the company’s latest and greatest smartphones, the iPhone 16 line, but analysts worry it hasn’t quite pushed users to set out in droves to buy the new phones.

Apple will continue to release Apple Intelligence updates throughout the year, enhancing its capabilities with more useful functions, including the ability to gather information across multiple apps from a single interface. And while that certainly sounds helpful, hardware upgrades like bigger screens, better batteries, and improved cameras are still an easier sell.

For the quarter, Apple is expected to report earnings per share of $2.35 on revenue of $124.1 billion, according to Bloomberg consensus estimates. That would be a jump from the $2.18 per share and $119.5 billion in revenue the company saw in the same quarter 12 months ago.

Apple’s iPhone segment is set to bring in $71 billion, up from $69 billion last year, while its Services segment is set to generate $26 billion in revenue, an increase from $23.1 billion. Greater China revenue is expected to top out at $21.5 billion, higher than the $20.8 billion the region brought in last year.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 20: An iPhone 16 signage is seen on the window at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store on new products launch day on September 20, 2024 in New York City. China has proven to be a persistent area of trouble for Apple over the last two years. Sales in the region declined 8% in 2024, falling to $66.9 billion, and 2% in 2023. At the time, Apple blamed weakness in the renminbi versus the dollar and lower iPhone and iPad sales.

But Apple is set to release a slew of new products in the coming months, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. That includes a new entry-level iPhone SE, as well as new iPads and MacBook Airs. These products should help drive revenue improvements across its various business segments.

Apple, one of the world’s most valuable companies, is set to report its first quarter earnings just a week after being hit with multiple downgrades by analysts. The tech giant’s stock took a hit as concerns about slowing iPhone sales and increased competition in the smartphone market weighed on investor sentiment.

Despite the downgrades, Apple is still expected to report strong earnings for the quarter, driven by robust sales of its services and wearables segments. The company’s loyal customer base and brand strength continue to be key drivers of its success.

Investors will be closely watching Apple’s earnings report to gauge the company’s performance and outlook for the rest of the year. With competition in the tech industry heating up, Apple will need to continue innovating and delivering products that resonate with consumers to maintain its position as a leader in the market.

Stay tuned for updates on Apple’s earnings report and how the company plans to navigate the challenges ahead.

  • Hawks hit back for big win in Tasmania

Sam Froling set it up in the first half and the Illawarra Hawks took care of business to maintain NBL top position with the 102-78 win to open Champion Pride Round against the Tasmania JackJumpers.

The JackJumpers were still up against it despite the return of Majok Deng with Sean Macdonald and Will Magnay still absence, and the defending champions felt their absence.

Without Magnay, Froling delivered 16 points and four rebounds in the first half for the Hawks at MyState Bank Arena.

While without Macdonald with the ball in hands, the JackJumpers amassed 13 turnovers for 20 Illawarra points as the visitors claimed the win to stay clear in top spot.

The Hawks had a week to respond to a loss in Cairns last Thursday and needs to keep winning to maintain top spot, and produced a dominant first half performance.

Co-captain Froling produced 16 points for the first half with the Hawks heading into the break leading 52-34.

That was on the back of shooting 52 per cent from the field to just 38 from the JackJumpers while they also added 18 free throws to eight, and scored 14 points off the 11 Tasmania turnovers, and had eight second chance points from six offensive rebounds.

Milton Doyle tried to keep Tasmania in touch with 13 points in the second quarter but throughout the second half they could never get closer than 12 with the Hawks ending up winning by 24 to improve to 18-9 in top spot.

Froling ended up with 18 points and seven rebounds with Tyler Harvey adding 15 points and five assists, Mason Peatling 12 points and six rebounds, Davo Hickey 12 points, four boards, three assists and two blocks, and 431-game veteran Todd Blanchfield 12 points with three triples.

Tasmania (12-15) now need some help with Adelaide losing to be a chance of breaking into the top six with Doyle top-scoring with 17 points but 13 of those came in the second quarter.

Jordon Crawford added 16 points and seven assists, Clint Steindl 13 points, Gorjok Gak seven points and five rebounds, and Nick Stoddart seven points.

It was Gorjok Gak who came out aggressive with four quick points down low for Tasmania, but the JackJumpers only managed nine more the entire first quarter.

The Hawks answered with a 14-3 run that included three-pointers from Mason Peatling and Wani Swaka Lo Buluk before the league-leading visitors ended up leading 21-13 by quarter-time.

Todd Blanchfield put up six quick points to start the second half for Illawarra to push the lead out to double-figures before it was Sam Froling who dominated the rest of the half inside for the Hawks.

Milton Doyle did his best to keep Tasmania in touch with 13 of his 15 points in the second quarter, but Froling scored 16 to the half with 12 in that second period with the Hawks going into the break in control leading 52-34.

Captain Clint Steindl hit eight quick points to start the second half to help the JackJumpers get back to within 12, but the Hawks kept on responding and pushed the lead out to as much as 21 and were on top by 18 at three quarter-time.

Illawarra went on to cruise to the 24-point win with Kuany Kuany even getting some burn late to score for just the second time in the NBL.

The JackJumpers now head straight to Melbourne to play United on Saturday night at a venue and against an opponent they have a terrific record against.

The Hawks are next in action on the road to the New Zealand Breakers on Wednesday before finishing the season at home to the Sydney Kings.

The Hawthorn Hawks have bounced back from a string of disappointing losses with a dominant performance in Tasmania. The team showed great resilience and determination as they secured a big win over their opponents.

The Hawks came out firing from the first bounce and never looked back, playing with a level of intensity and skill that had been lacking in recent games. The players were hungry for the win and it showed in their performance on the field.

The victory was a much-needed confidence booster for the Hawks, who had been under pressure after a series of poor results. The team showed that they are capable of competing with the best in the competition and have the ability to turn their season around.

The win in Tasmania will give the Hawks a much-needed boost as they look to climb up the ladder and secure a finals spot. It was a statement win that showed the rest of the competition that the Hawks are not to be underestimated.

Overall, it was a fantastic performance from the Hawthorn Hawks and a well-deserved win. The team will be looking to build on this momentum and continue their winning ways in the coming weeks. Watch out for the Hawks as they look to make a push towards the finals.

  • Lockheed hit by $2B in charges on 2 classified programs

Lawmakers Trying To Avert Fiscal Cliff To Prevent Short-Term Shock To The Economy

A sign for Lockheed Martin Corp. stands outside the company’s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, U.S., on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. Photographer: Andrew Harrer/Bloomberg via Getty Images

WASHINGTON — Higher than expected engineering costs and other difficulties forced Lockheed Martin to book $2 billion in losses on two classified programs in 2024, with a $1.7 billion hit occurring in the final quarter of the year, the company said in results today.

The world’s largest defense contractor recorded total year end losses of $1.4 billion on a classified program in its missiles and fire control (MFC) portfolio as well as a $555 million overrun on a program in its aeronautics division, Lockheed said in a news release. Of that sum, the MFC program logged a $1.3 billion charge in the fourth quarter, with the aeronautics program incurring a $410 million charge during the same period.

The MFC program losses stem from a contract where Lockheed can be reimbursed for costs during the initial phase of the program, but where follow-on contract options are locked under a fixed-price deal that holds Lockheed responsible for paying costs above a certain threshold. Lockheed estimates that all options exercised over the “next several years” would be performed at a loss to the company, with the first $100 million charge occurring in the first quarter of 2024.

“During the fourth quarter of 2024, the company again assessed the likelihood that additional options may be exercised and now believe it is probable that all options will be exercised based on performance to date, future requirements of the program, discussions with the customer and suppliers, and anticipated customer funding, among other factors, resulting in the recognition of additional losses,” Lockheed said in a release.

When Lockheed executives first disclosed the hit to the MFC program in April, CEO Jim Taiclet characterized the program as a long-running franchise that will deliver a strong return on investment after going through a period of teething pains, while Chief Financial Officer Jay Malave said the effort was expected to become profitable on an annual basis around the 2028 timeframe.

Meanwhile, Lockheed described the impacted aeronautics program as a fixed-price incentive fee contract involving “highly complex design and systems integration.” The company conducted a review of the program due to undisclosed near-term milestones and trends experienced in the fourth quarter, and recorded losses based on “higher projected costs in engineering and integration activities that are necessary to achieve those forthcoming milestones,” it said.

During an earnings call this morning, Malave laid out a list of process changes aimed at drilling down on some of the challenges faced by the classified aeronautics changes, which include implementing a continuous monitoring process to track the program’s technical milestones, adding technical resources and experts to the team in areas where there is elevated risk, and adding new automated testing procedures to speed up the finding and fixing of issues.

“All those things taken together, give us confidence that we have significantly derisked this program and significantly reduced the risk of future charges on this,” Malave said.

Beyond the classified programs, Taiclet said Lockheed looks forward to working with the Trump administration, particularly on streamlining acquisition processes and inducing innovation. He gave a particular shout out to the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), echoing the sentiments of top executives from L3Harris and General Atomics, who recently sent letters to Musk suggesting potential reforms.

“We see DOGE [the Department of Government Efficiency] as an opportunity to make great progress in all these areas, and we will continue to share ideas and do our part to support efforts to eliminate unnecessary regulatory hurdles while working to increase efficiency in our own internal operations,” Taiclet said.

Lockheed is making “excellent progress” on the F-35’s Technology Refresh 3 (TR-3), Malave said, referring to an update to the aircraft’s computing systems needed to field future mission system upgrades. However, the company still needs to complete some mission system integration work and improve the stability of the equipment, and although the company will meet “some milestones” this year, Malave would not go as far as to say the upgrade package will meet full combat capability this year as previously planned.

“We’re targeting as much as possible this year. But I think for purposes of financial modeling, we would expect, you know, this to bleed into 2026,” he said, adding that “ultimately, the declaration of full combat capability is one that is left with our customer.”

The company expects to definitize its F-35 Lot 18 contract with the Pentagon in the first half of the year, with Lot 19 to follow by the end of 2015, Malave said.

Because of the classified program losses, Lockheed’s target earnings per share for 2024 amounted to $22.31. It recorded $5.3 billion in free cash flow for 2024. Net sales increased 5% to $71 billion.

The company expects net sales of about $73.7 billion to $74.7 billion in 2025, with a free cash flow target of around $6.6 billion to $6.8 billion.

Updated on 1/28/25 at 1:55 pm to add information from Lockheed Martin’s earnings call.

Lockheed Martin, one of the world’s largest defense contractors, has been hit by $2 billion in charges related to two classified programs. The company announced the charges in a recent earnings report, revealing that the costs were associated with delays and cost overruns on the programs.

While Lockheed did not disclose specific details about the programs in question, the company did acknowledge that they were both classified and therefore limited in what information could be shared publicly. The charges come as a significant blow to Lockheed, which has faced scrutiny in recent years for its handling of various defense contracts.

Despite the setbacks, Lockheed remains optimistic about its long-term prospects and continues to work closely with the government to address the issues surrounding the classified programs. The company is committed to delivering high-quality products and services to its customers, and is working diligently to overcome the challenges that have arisen.

Investors and analysts will be closely watching Lockheed’s next moves as the company navigates the fallout from the $2 billion in charges. The defense contractor’s ability to effectively manage its classified programs and deliver on its commitments will be key factors in determining its future success in the highly competitive defense industry.

  • PlayStation 5 free upgrade for PS4 hit game quietly leaks online – Playstation

PlayStation 5 free upgrade for PS4 hit game quietly leaks online

    Our Wild Hearts are delighted

A critically acclaimed PlayStation 4 title looks set to receive a PlayStation 5 port.

Released in 2019, Sayonara Wild Hearts took the gaming community by storm, receiving one positive review after another.

This “dreamy arcade game” is a beautiful, creative experience that everyone should check out, even if rhythm games aren’t for you.

If the lack of a PlayStation 5 port has been holding you back, that issue may soon be one of the past as suggested by an online leak spotted by Push Square.

The outlet revealed that a PS5 trophy list for Sayonara Wild Hearts has appeared on PSNProfiles.

We’ll always be Wild at heart for Sayonara Wild Hearts

At the time of writing this, no announcement from either PlayStation or Annapurna Interactive has said that a native PS5 port is due to be released.

Some believe this theory is further strengthened by the fact that the title was recently added to PlayStation Plus Extra.

Naturally, fans will now be watching this story closely for any further developments.

In the meantime, we can only speculate on whether its PS5 version will be free for those who’ve already purchased the PS4 version.

This is typically what happens; however, it’s uncertain whether those who are playing via PS Plus will be able to enjoy the upgrade for free.

Unless Sony adds it to the PS Plus Extra collection as well, it seems unlikely.

Another PS5 port has seemingly been leaked, only this time the premature “reveal” has come from Sony itself.

A Nintendo RPG is coming to the console, one which originally seemed destined to be a Nintendo exclusive. Oh, how the tables have turned.

Similarly to Sayonara Wild Hearts, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation before we allow ourselves to get too excited.

That said, we’re hopeful given all the evidence that’s been amassed thus far.

  • Hawaiian Islands set to be hit by winter storm with rain, snow, flooding

HONOLULU– A powerful storm system will produce heavy rainfall, gusty winds and rough waves throughout the Hawaiian Islands for the remainder of the workweek.

The National Weather Service office in Honolulu has issued a Flood Watch for all islands from Wednesday through Friday afternoon as rain rates of 2-3 inches per hour are expected for some areas.

    WHAT IS A KONA LOW?

The rain and flash flooding also brings an increased risk for mudslides and landslides for much of the islands.

Video from MakaiClicks on Sunday shows flash flooding at Waimea Falls, a popular tourist attraction on Oahu.

In the video, a huge swell of muddy water comes from nowhere, crashing down the falls into the pool below. Another clip shows water rushing downhill, beneath a walkway bridge.

On Sunday on Maui, three girls had to be rescued by Maui County firefighters after they became trapped on a rock outcropping in the middle of Iao Stream.

WATCH: 3 GIRLS RESCUED FROM RAGING HAWAII STREAM AFTER GETTING STUCK ON OUTCROPPING

In addition to flash flooding, the storm system will bring thunderstorms and damaging winds to parts of the islands.

Wind gusts of 30-50 mph are possible on the island of Kauai, where the storm system is expected to hit the hardest.

“The winds are going to be powerful with this thing,” said FOX Weather Meteorologist Stephen Morgan

A High Wind Warning is in effect for the summits on the island of Hawai’i until Friday. Winds between 40-50 mph with gusts peaking at 90 mph are expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow and ice are also possible for the high elevation portions of the big island. A Winter Storm Watch is in place for Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa through Friday, with 4–8 inches of frozen precipitation.

    HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER

The National Weather Service advises travel near the summits could be very difficult to impossible at times, with blowing snow severely limiting visibility.

After the system passes through the islands on Friday, conditions are expected to quickly improve for the weekend.

The FOX Forecast Center is monitoring the possibility of the system impacting the U.S. West Coast early next week, with heavy rain and strong winds.

The Hawaiian Islands are bracing for a powerful winter storm that is expected to bring heavy rain, snow, and potential flooding to the region. The storm, which is forecasted to hit later this week, could bring significant impacts to the islands, including strong winds and high surf.

Residents and visitors are being urged to take precautions and prepare for the inclement weather. The National Weather Service has issued a series of advisories, including flood watches and warnings, as well as high wind warnings.

In addition to the potential for flooding, parts of the islands could see significant snowfall, particularly at higher elevations. This could lead to hazardous road conditions and potential travel disruptions.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and are urging people to stay informed and heed any evacuation orders or instructions. It is important to have an emergency plan in place and to have necessary supplies on hand.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing weather situation and stay safe, Hawaii!

  • NBA players Rudy Gobert, Mouhamed Gueye nearly hit by falling debris during game

Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert and Atlanta Hawks big man Mouhamed Gueye narrowly avoided serious injury on Monday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The two men were walking off the court at the end of the first quarter when a piece of debris fell from the jumbotron high above the court. Gobert seemingly felt the piece drop past his head as he walked off the floor. His Timberwolves teammates seemed to be in awe.

The center talked about the incident after the game.

“It (happened) right in front of me. I don’t know if that’s good or bad,” he told reporters, via FOX 9.

Neither player was injured in the incident.

Minnesota was able to build upon the eight-point lead it had after the first quarter and win the game, 100-92. Gobert had 18 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Anthony Edwards led the team with 23 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Gueye had four points and four rebounds in 19 minutes of action. De’Andre Hunter had 35 points off the bench for the Hawks. Clint Capela added 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch wasn’t exactly happy with how his team won. Atlanta got back into the game after outscoring Minnesota 31-20 in the third quarter.

“That was a totally unacceptable second half of basketball. If we’re trying to be a team, we’re trying to go where we’re trying to go, that’s not good enough,” Finch said.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert narrowly avoided being hit by what appeared to be a falling piece of equipment from the jumbotron at the Target Center during a game against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.

Gobert was walking to the bench at the end of the first quarter when what looked to be a black horn fell from the arena’s roof. It landed just a short distance from Gobert’s head, bouncing off the floor and causing the 32-year-old to jump.

It also didn’t fall far from his Timberwolves teammate Naz Reid, who stared up at the overhead scoreboard with a puzzled look on his face. Hawks star Mouhamed Gueye also appeared to walk past where the object fell just seconds before.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident and a referee removed the broken piece of equipment from the court before play continued. CNN has reached out to the Timberwolves for comment about what happened.

Minnesota went on to beat the Hawks 100-92 in a scrappy game.

The Timberwolves were led by Anthony Edwards’ 23 points, with Julius Randle adding another 20. After his brief scare, Gobert finished the game with 18 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.

The Hawks played without leading scorer and NBA assist leader Trae Young due to an injury, but De’Andre Hunter did step up to score a career-high 35 points in the defeat.

The Hawks have now lost five consecutive games and will hope to turn their luck around against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Minnesota has now won three in a row and will look to continue its good run against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.

During a recent game between the Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rudy Gobert, the Jazz’s star center, had a close call when a piece of the scoreboard nearly fell on him. The incident occurred in the second quarter of the game when Gobert was positioning himself under the basket for a rebound.

As he looked up, Gobert noticed a loose piece of the scoreboard above him and quickly moved out of the way just in time to avoid being hit. The close call was captured on camera and quickly spread on social media, with fans expressing relief that Gobert was unharmed.

Despite the scare, Gobert continued to play in the game and helped lead the Jazz to a victory over the Timberwolves. After the game, Gobert downplayed the incident, stating that he was just glad no one was injured.

The incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers that can occur during live sporting events and the importance of maintaining safe conditions for both players and fans. Thankfully, in this case, it was just a close call and Gobert was able to walk away unscathed.

  • Rudy Gobert nearly hit by horn falling from Target Center jumbotron

There’s been some weird things that have happened over the years during Minnesota Timberwolves’ home games at Target Center.

We’ve had “Glue Girl,” where a woman protesting the killing of birds at an Iowa farm owned by Glen Taylor glued herself to the court. Earlier this season, two women went onto the court using their social media influence to promote a new cryptocurrency. They were immediately tackled and taken away by security.

Monday night against the Atlanta Hawks might have topped them all. Rudy Gobert nearly got hit by a piece of falling jumbotron at the end of the first quarter.

    What happened?

What we know: The Timberwolves led the short-handed Hawks 28-20 after the first quarter. As Gobert and other players walked back toward the bench, something from the scoreboard fell and landed between the free-throw and three-point line.

“It (happened) right in front of me. I don’t know if that’s good or bad,” Gobert said post game. Asked if his life flashed before his eyes, he said, “Yes.”

It was enough to startle Gobert and make him brace himself, and for Naz Reid to look up and see what was going on.

What we don’t know: What actually fell. It appeared on TV to be part of the horn we hear when there’s a substitution, the end of a quarter or a need for a stoppage in play.

Chris Finch rips Timberwolves in win over Hawks

How it happened: Anthony Edwards led four Timberwolves in double figures with 23 points, adding five rebounds and three assists. Julius Randle had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Gobert had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Naz Reid had 15 points off the bench.

The Timberwolves are four games above .500, at 25-21, for the first time all season. Last year, they played 74 games when they were at least four games above .500 and finished with 56 regular season wins. It wasn’t pretty, with the Timberwolves leading 60-43 at half. They lost the third quarter 31-20 and the second half 49-40, making just enough plays to win. But it wasn’t pretty against a depleted Hawks’ team. Chris Finch ripped into his team in the locker room before speaking with reporters postgame.

“That was a totally unacceptable second half of basketball. If we’re trying to be a team, we’re trying to go where we’re trying to go, that’s not good enough,” Finch said.

The Timberwolves were 30-11 at Target Center last season on the way to making a run to the Western Conference Finals. After Monday night’s win, they’re 12-10 on their home floor as we’re more than halfway through the regular season.

Rudy Gobert, the star center for the Utah Jazz, had a close call during a recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center. As the players were warming up on the court, a horn suddenly fell from the jumbotron and narrowly missed hitting Gobert.

The incident was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media, with fans expressing their shock and concern for Gobert’s safety. Thankfully, Gobert was able to dodge the falling horn and no one was injured in the incident.

The Timberwolves and Target Center officials have since issued a statement apologizing for the incident and ensuring that they are taking steps to prevent any similar accidents in the future. Gobert also spoke out about the incident, thanking his lucky stars and jokingly adding that he has a new appreciation for looking up before walking onto the court.

It was definitely a scary moment, but luckily everyone walked away unharmed. Let’s hope that the necessary precautions are taken to ensure the safety of all players and fans in the future.
