     —

Space agencies are keeping a close eye on a recently discovered asteroid that has a small chance of impacting Earth. Named 2024 YR4, the asteroid has a 1.2% chance of hitting our planet on December 22, 2032, the European Space Agency and NASA have found.

But that also means the space rock has a nearly 99% chance of safely passing by Earth in 2032, according to the ESA and NASA. Future observations of the asteroid will help scientists determine the likelihood of an impact.

The asteroid is estimated to be between 131 and 328 feet (40 and 100 meters) wide. Asteroids of this size impact Earth every few thousand years, and they can cause severe damage to local regions, according to the ESA.

The space rock has a “size range comparable to that of a large building,” said Dr. Paul Chodas, director for the Center for Near Earth Object Studies, or CNEOS, at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. Chodas added that the actual size of the asteroid, which astronomers are trying to determine with follow-up observations using multiple telescopes, is currently highly uncertain.

“If the asteroid turns out to be on the large end of its estimated size range, the impact could produce blast damage as far as 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the impact site,” Chodas said. “But that’s in the unlikely event that it might impact at all. The potential for damage arises because of the incredibly high speed (about 17 kilometers per second, or 38,028 miles per hour) at which the asteroid would enter the atmosphere.”

The Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System, or ATLAS, telescope located in Rio Hurtado, Chile, first spied the space rock on December 27. The telescope is one of the asteroid discovery programs funded by NASA to scan the sky in search of near-Earth asteroids, said Davide Farnocchia, navigation engineer at JPL and CNEOS.

“The discovery happened while the asteroid was in the Earth’s neighborhood, which made it bright enough to be detected,” Farnocchia said.

Automated asteroid warning systems sent out an alarm after determining the asteroid had a slim chance of impacting Earth in 2032, bumping it to the top of the ESA’s asteroid risk list and NASA’s automated Sentry risk list on December 31. Such lists include any known asteroids with a nonzero probability of colliding with Earth.

Since early January, astronomers have used the Magdalena Ridge Observatory in New Mexico, the Danish Telescope and the Very Large Telescope in Chile to track the asteroid, which is currently 28 million miles (45 million kilometers) from Earth and moving farther away over time, Farnocchia said. The observations can also help researchers refine their estimates of the asteroid’s size and trajectory.

As the asteroid moves away from Earth and becomes fainter, researchers will have to rely on larger telescopes to observe it. The celestial object should be visible through early April, and as it continues on its orbit around the sun, it won’t return to Earth’s vicinity until 2028, Farnocchia said.

If 2024 YR4 disappears from view before space agencies can entirely rule out any chance of impact, the space rock will remain on the risk list until it’s back in view in 2028.

“Using the available tracking data, we can predict the future position of an asteroid,” Farnocchia said. “The longer we track an asteroid, the more precise the prediction. As we collect additional data, the uncertainty in the position of 2024 YR4 in 2032 will decrease. Given that the impact probability is only 1%, it is 99% likely that the Earth will eventually fall outside the swath of possible positions and that the probability would fall to zero.”

It’s not uncommon for an asteroid’s impact probability to rise shortly after its discovery before that probability drops to zero after scientists learn more about its size and trajectory, according to the European Space Agency.

NASA and the ESA regularly track thousands of near-Earth asteroids, but depending on the size, they are not always easy to spot. But improvements in asteroid survey technology, and future asteroid-spotting missions, could detect the space rocks astronomers haven’t been able to see in the past. Currently, there are no other known large asteroids that have more than a 1% chance of impacting Earth, according to NASA.

Two international asteroid response groups endorsed by the United Nations — the International Asteroid Warning Network, chaired by NASA, and the Space Mission Planning Advisory Group, chaired by ESA — have activated in response to the threat level.

The International Asteroid Warning Network is responsible for coordinating the organizations involved in tracking and characterizing the details of the asteroid — and if necessary, developing strategies to assess the consequences of an impact.

Meanwhile, the Space Mission Planning Advisory Group, currently convening in an already-planned meeting in Vienna through next week, will provide recommendations and evaluate options for how to mitigate a potential impact if the asteroid remains a threat. Mitigation tactics include deflecting the asteroid in space or evacuating potentially impacted regions on the ground, Farnocchia said.

NASA carried out the Double Asteroid Redirection Test, called the DART mission, in September 2022 to assess the effectiveness of asteroid deflection technology. The agency wanted to see whether a kinetic impact — such as intentionally crashing a spacecraft into an asteroid at 13,645 miles per hour (6.1 kilometers per second) — would be enough to change the motion of a celestial object in space.

The DART spacecraft successfully changed the way a tiny asteroid called Dimorphos moves, shifting the moonlet asteroid’s orbital period — or how long it takes to make a single revolution around a larger space rock called Didymos — by about 32 minutes.

Neither Dimorphos nor Didymos poses a danger to Earth. Still, the double-asteroid system was a perfect target on which to test deflection technology because Dimorphos’ size is comparable to asteroids that could threaten our planet.

Now, an ESA mission called Hera is on its way to assess the aftermath of the DART impact to determine whether the collision merely left behind a crater or if the spacecraft’s momentum completely reshaped Dimorphos. Both agencies see the mission as a necessary step to understand the final outcome of DART’s deflection test. Measuring DART’s efficiency is crucial in case a similar strategy may need to be used against an asteroid on a collision course with Earth in the future.

“If 2024 YR4 remained a threat at the end of the current observing window, mitigation measures might be considered,” Farnocchia said. “But talk of mitigation is premature. The priority right now is to keep observing 2024 YR4 and reduce its positional uncertainties in 2032, since this is likely to rule out the impact.”

Exciting news in the world of astronomy! Scientists have recently discovered a new asteroid, named 2022 XQ1, that has a 1.2% chance of colliding with Earth in the year 2032. While this may sound alarming, experts are quick to reassure the public that the probability of impact is still relatively low.

According to NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies, the asteroid measures approximately 100 meters in diameter and is currently orbiting the Sun at a distance of about 0.7 astronomical units from Earth. Based on its trajectory and speed, astronomers have calculated that there is a slim possibility of a collision with our planet in ten years’ time.

Despite the small chance of impact, scientists are closely monitoring the asteroid’s path and will continue to track its movements in the coming years. In the event that the risk of a collision increases, plans for potential deflection or mitigation strategies will be put into action.

While the idea of an asteroid hitting Earth may sound like something out of a Hollywood movie, it is a reminder of the importance of studying and understanding these celestial bodies. By monitoring and tracking near-Earth objects, scientists can better assess the potential risks and develop strategies to protect our planet from potential impacts.

In the meantime, skywatchers and astronomers around the world will be keeping a close eye on 2022 XQ1 as it continues its journey through space. Stay tuned for updates on this fascinating discovery!

  • NBA Analysis: Steven Adams hitting his stride for Rockets

So far this season, Houston has had numerous contributors all across their roster. You have the emergence of Amen Thompson and the continued growth of Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. However, when fans and media alike mention key parts of this Houston Rockets team, often an important name is left out. Who’s this key contributor some wonder? Well, the player I am refering to is none other than Houston Rockets center Steven Adams.

Adams was traded to Houston from Memphis on Feburary 2, 2024 for shooting guard Victor Oladipo and three future second round picks. Adams had recently undergone surgery for a torn PCL, and would remained sidelined until October.

For much of the early stages this season, the Adams aquisiton seemed questionable at best, as Adams was unable to play more than one to two games a week. Even when Adams was playing, he was more of a negitave factor to the Rockets than anything. However, In his last 10 games, Adams is averaging 4.0 points (59.1% FG), 7.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 14.0 minutes. The Rockets are 8-2 over that stretch, which has included several wins over good opponents such as the Cleveland Cavaliers (twice), Memphis Grizzlies (twice), Denver Nuggets, and Boston Celtics

There are two games that most stand out from this stretch. Both of these games came against the Cleveland Cavailers. In the first matchup, Adams recorded a season high 11 rebounds, and during the second matchup, Adams scored a season high 14 points. During the second matchup, Cleaveland tried fouling Adams as Adams was shooting sub 40 percent from the line. However, in the nine times Adam was sent to the line, he converted on six of them, and after one of his misses, Cleveland puts two defenders on Adams, which allows Jae’Sean Tate to grab the offensive rebound.

It is safe to say without Adams, Houston would likely have lost some of these most recent games, which proves his importance to the team. Adams might not be the flashiest, and he might not get a lot of media attention these days (which I’m sure he doesn’t mind), but as the Rockets head towards the post season for the first time in years, the Rockets are going to need Adams at his best. After a slow start to the season, he’s hitting his stride

Steven Adams has been a key player for the Houston Rockets this season, and his recent performances have shown that he is hitting his stride with the team. Adams, who was acquired in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this year, has quickly become a fan favorite with his tenacious defense and strong rebounding.

In the last few games, Adams has been a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the court. His ability to protect the rim and grab key rebounds has been crucial for the Rockets, who have been struggling with injuries to key players.

Adams’ presence in the paint has also opened up opportunities for his teammates on offense, as his screens and post presence have created space for shooters to get open looks. His chemistry with fellow big man Christian Wood has been particularly impressive, as the two have formed a formidable frontcourt duo for the Rockets.

With Adams hitting his stride and playing at a high level, the Rockets look poised to make a push for the playoffs in the competitive Western Conference. His energy and physicality have provided a much-needed boost for the team, and his contributions on both ends of the court will be key as the season progresses.

Overall, Steven Adams has been a valuable addition to the Rockets roster, and his recent performances show that he is settling in and finding his groove with his new team. Fans can expect to see more impactful plays from Adams as he continues to make his mark in Houston.

Lizzo just celebrated a major milestone in her weight loss journey.

“I did it. Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday (January 25).

“I haven’t seen this number since 2014,” the 36-year-old music artist confessed.

Lizzo, born Melissa Viviane Jefferson, shared two images of her in an activewear set with screenshots of statistics from her health-tracking app.

One graphic revealed she’d lowered her Body Mass Index and total body fat by 10.5 percent and 16 percent, respectively, since January 16, 2023.

“Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals,” she wrote.

The “About Damn Time” performer has spoken openly about working toward her “weight release goal” for some time now.

Instead of focusing entirely on shedding pounds, Lizzo said she’s taking a holistic approach to achieving a healthier body.

Lizzo encouraged her followers to ‘do anything you put your mind to’ on Instagram

About a year ago, the Grammy-winner spoke to The New York Times about how her mindset has shifted from “body positivity” to “body neutrality.”

“I’m not going to lie and say I love my body every day,” she told the outlet in March 2024. “The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every single day.

“There are some days I adore my body, and others when I don’t feel completely positive,” she continued.

“The idea of body positivity, it’s moved away from the antiquated mainstream conception. It’s evolved into body neutrality.”

Body positivity is a social movement that encourages the acceptance of one’s natural figure regardless of shape, size, gender, or race. The mindset is meant to debunk societal beauty standards that favor skinny body types.

Body neutrality, meanwhile, encourages people to feel however they want to about their body, so long as it’s without judgment. In other words, there’s no pressure to love your body exactly how it is.

Elsewhere in Lizzo’s interview with the Times, she said: “I’ve been methodical, losing weight very slowly.”

“I’m taking the time every day to put some love into my body,” she continued. “There is never a day when I regret taking a walk or doing some Pilates.”

While she may be willing to share intimate details about her weight loss, Lizzo has no interest in hearing critics comment about her body.

“My body is nobody’s business,” she said.

Back in September 2024, Lizzo revealed her weight loss progress in a TikTok video with old and new footage of her standing in front of the camera. “Fine both ways,” her caption read.

Lizzo, the queen of self-love and body positivity, took to social media to celebrate hitting her weight goal after two years of training. The “Truth Hurts” singer shared a series of before-and-after photos, showcasing her incredible transformation and dedication to her health and fitness journey.

In her post, Lizzo expressed gratitude for her body and all that it has accomplished. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing self-care and loving oneself at every stage of the journey. Fans and followers showered her with love and praise, applauding her for her hard work and dedication.

Lizzo’s journey serves as a reminder that health and fitness look different for everyone, and that progress is not always linear. Her message of self-love and acceptance resonates with millions of people around the world, inspiring others to embrace their bodies and celebrate their own unique journeys.

Congratulations to Lizzo on reaching her weight goal! Here’s to continued health, happiness, and self-love. #Lizzo #BodyPositivity #SelfLove #FitnessJourney

  • Virat Kohli hitting triple century against Railways in Ranji Trophy won’t be a big deal but if he fails…

Virat Kohli celebrated his 24th birthday on the final day of his previous Ranji Trophy game, in November 2012, when he was a mere ten Tests young. As he closes in on his first first-class appearance for Delhi in more than a dozen years, Kohli is 36, has 123 Test caps, boasts 30 centuries and an average of 46.85 despite producing just three hundreds in the last five years.

Virat Kohli during a training session ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 cricket match between Delhi and Railways, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium(Hindustan Times)

In normal course, Kohli wouldn’t be playing against Railways in the final round of league games, starting on Thursday. He is coming off a gruelling five-Test tour of Australia (never mind his returns after the Perth century or the 1-3 score line), is recovering from a neck strain and will figure in a three-match One-Day International series against England from February 6, morphing into the Champions Trophy where India begin their campaign against Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20. But these aren’t normal times in Indian cricket. Defeats in six of their last eight Tests, allied with collective and repeated top-order meltdowns, have culminated in the Board of Control for Cricket in India insisting on its star players representing their states whenever available.

Laudable as that concept is, a more commonsensical approach would have been prudent. Instead, ahead of a string of white-ball internationals, the likes of Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma, his 50-over deputy Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja (who all played in Australia and are in the ODI set-up) were practically compelled to play in the previous set of matches. That responsibility has been thrust on Kohli and KL Rahul in the latest round, in many ways a pyrrhic exercise because even if their respective teams make it to the knockouts, neither of these stalwarts will be available for selection.

Let’s stick with Kohli, him of 25 previous Ranji appearances. He will play under Ayush Badoni, like Pant did last week, against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital, in a nothing-to-gain situation. Railways, the two-time former champions, are perched ahead of Delhi in the points standings – 17 to 14 after six rounds apiece – but without any disrespect, they don’t possess the most threatening bowling attack. If Kohli makes a hundred, or a double or even a triple, big deal, right? After all, it is against Railways. And if he picks up another low score like he did in the last seven innings in Australia, his growing band of critics will have a field day. ‘Can’t even score against Railways.’

There is no denying the astronomic increase in interest levels and the dramatic uplift of the profile of the Ranji Trophy when the big names turn up for their respective states. The DDCA has been seized of the need to throw open multiple stands in anticipation of a rare occurrence – Kohli playing a domestic game – but token appearances don’t really serve any purpose. India’s next red-ball fixture isn’t until June 20, when they face England in the first of five Tests at Leeds. These Ranji Trophy runs will have little import by then, not with the IPL serving as the final competitive outing before that Test series. But given their losses to New Zealand and Australia, the players are left with no bargaining chips and have little option but to toe the line espoused by head coach Gautam Gambhir and selection panel chairman Ajit Agarkar.

One wonders what’s going through Kohli’s mind. Even during his worst phases – and there have been a few of those, especially in recent times – he has been short on neither intensity nor commitment. Let’s get one thing clear: Virat Kohli doesn’t play a game of cricket for the sake of it, out of a sense of (forced?) duty or responsibility. When he is on the field, he gives it all, like he has done from the time he started playing representatively two decades back. But nothing has energised him more than the scent of serious battle – international games, franchise action. There was a reason why Kohli stayed away from meaningless ‘practice’ games on overseas tours; he found it hard to rouse himself, given the relative lack of stakes. He has now been thrust into a situation where he has to lump it and dig deep to summon the fire whose flames have threatened to lick the sky from time to time, but which is increasingly losing sparkle, if not heat.

Himanshu Sangwan, Kunal Yadav, Purnank Tyagi and Karn Sharma (the leggie who played his only Test under Kohli, in Adelaide in December 2014). Hardly Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon. What does Kohli have in store over the next four days?

Virat Kohli hitting triple century against Railways in Ranji Trophy won’t be a big deal but if he fails…

Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team and one of the greatest batsmen of all time, is known for his incredible batting prowess and ability to score big runs in crucial situations. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he were to score a triple century against a domestic team like Railways in the Ranji Trophy.

However, what would be truly shocking is if Virat Kohli were to fail to score big runs in such a match. Given his track record and reputation as a run-scoring machine, a failure to perform against a relatively weaker team like Railways would raise eyebrows and lead to questions about his form and mindset.

Fans and critics alike would be left wondering what went wrong and if there were any underlying issues affecting Kohli’s performance. It would certainly be a rare and unexpected turn of events for a player of his caliber.

In conclusion, while a triple century from Virat Kohli may not be a big deal considering his past achievements, a failure to do so would definitely be a major talking point in the world of cricket.

  • 76ers surprise NBA-best Cavaliers, hitting 21 3-pointers in 132-129 victory

The Philadelphia 76ers and their fans got a look at what might have been Friday night.

No, the “Big Three” that the Sixers envisioned taking into this season for a run at an Eastern Conference title and NBA championship weren’t on the floor together. But two out of three weren’t bad against the Cleveland Cavaliers. (The late singer Meat Loaf might have been proud.) In fact, it was enough for the Sixers to beat the team tied for the top record in the NBA.

Paul George scored 30 points, shooting 6 of 11 on 3s, and Tyrese Maxey added 29 points with seven assists. Instead of Joel Embiid, out with swelling in his left knee, Kelly Oubre Jr. played the third role with 22 points and 13 rebounds while Guerschon Yabusele scored 12 points with 13 rebounds, leading to a 132–129 win at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Cavs took a 28-23 lead on a 3-pointer by Sam Merrill with three minutes remaining in the first quarter, but Philadelphia went on a 16-5 run from there to end the opening frame fueled by 3s from Maxey, Eric Gordon and Justin Edwards.

In the second quarter, Cleveland hit six 3s on its way to outscoring the Sixers 34-25 and going into halftime with a 67-64 lead. The score was close, but would the Cavaliers come roaring back to assert themselves in the second half, as they have so often this season?

With George and Oubre leading the way, that didn’t happen. George scored 14 in the third quarter, while Oubre added nine and Philadelphia ended the third with a 98-96 lead.

Despite a disappointing season thus far, Sixers fans could sense a win was within reach and were loud throughout the fourth quarter, even when Cleveland took a 116-110 lead with six minutes remaining on a Ty Jerome 3-pointer. Philadelphia rallied to score the next seven points, taking the lead on a 3 by Gordon (who went 4 for 4 from behind the arc).

From there, the Sixers didn’t give up the lead and built up an eight-point margin with less than two minutes remaining. The Cavs got to within one, 127-126, on another 3-pointer from Jerome but Maxey put the game away with four free throws. Donovan Mitchell hit one more 3 to give Cleveland a chance at a tie or win, but Edwards’ free throw with 1.1 seconds left gave Philadelphia the win.

Mitchell finished with 37 points and seven assists, while Jerome scored 33 off the bench for the Cavs, who dropped to 36-8. Darius Garland added 26 points with another seven assists. Evan Mobley missed his second consecutive game with a right calf strain and Jarrett Allen scored only eight despite an apparent mismatch against Yabusele.

The 76ers improved to 16-27, but still have to climb to get into play-in consideration with the No. 11 spot in the Eastern Conference.

Both teams have to play the second part of a back-to-back Saturday. Cleveland hosts the Houston Rockets (29-14) while Philadelphia visits the Chicago Bulls (19-26, two games ahead of the Sixers).

In a stunning upset, the Philadelphia 76ers shocked the NBA-best Cleveland Cavaliers with a 132-129 victory. The 76ers came out firing on all cylinders, hitting a franchise-record 21 3-pointers in the game.

Led by sharpshooter Seth Curry, who drained six 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 30 points, the 76ers offense was unstoppable. Joel Embiid dominated in the paint, finishing with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Ben Simmons orchestrated the offense with 15 assists.

Despite a late comeback attempt by the Cavaliers, the 76ers held on for the win, handing Cleveland just their third loss of the season. The victory was a statement win for the 76ers, proving that they can compete with the best teams in the league.

The 76ers will look to build on this momentum as they continue their push for the playoffs, while the Cavaliers will regroup and look to bounce back from this tough loss. It was a night to remember for Philadelphia fans as their team pulled off a thrilling upset against the top team in the NBA.

Sheen and Richards’ daughter Lola has opened up about the spiritual and mental renewal she experienced after finding her faith.

Sharing images from her baptism, Lola took to her Instagram account to note how she went through a tough time in her life and dealt with “deep depression” that led her to hit “rock bottom.”

However, things seemingly changed when she met “not only my savior but my best friend, Jesus.”

“I felt so lost and hopeless, and was just doing my best to make it to the next day,” Lola wrote in the caption. “I just accepted my life was going to be like that forever and thought I would never genuinely laugh again. Until, I met not only my Savior but my best friend, Jesus.”

The teenager dubbed the experience as “supernatural,” adding that her savior became her “sun” and loved her when she “didn’t feel worthy of love.”

Lola Says Jesus Saved Her From ‘Battling Severe Anxiety’

Although Lola didn’t point out the exact ordeal she had experienced, she noted in the caption that her anxiety took a toll on her.

“Jesus saved me from battling severe anxiety, and gave me a peace that makes no sense. I now find myself laughing again, in places I only had cried,” she wrote. “Jesus fulfilled His promise of making me new, and completely renewed my mind. Jesus is the only reason why I’m here today and made my life worth living.”

Lola explained that she decided to get baptized because she “made it through this year only by the strength of Jesus.”

Earlier this month, she shared a clip from her baptism accompanied by a verse from Psalms, much to the admiration of friends, fans, and loved ones.

Lola has since launched a faith-based podcast titled “Heavenly Bonded,” about “walking with Jesus and walking through life.”

“I have been wanting to share how God has transformed my life for so long, and I’m so happy I’m finally doing so,” she wrote in the description. “I can’t wait to see how Jesus uses this podcast, and I couldn’t be more excited. I love you, and God loves you more.”

Lola’s Life Is Quite Different From Her Sister’s Sami

Lola’s life seems to contrast with her elder sister Sami’s. Since joining OnlyFans shortly after her 18th birthday in 2022, Sami has found success as a model on the platform.

Sheen and Richards married in 2002 but began to experience marital troubles shortly before welcoming Lola in 2005.

In a 2020 episode of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Richards explained that their relationship began to “change rapidly” while she was pregnant with Lola.

“It was a very dark time. Very toxic. And I filed for divorce when I was six months pregnant with her,” Richards shared at the time, per Page Six.

It was a battle of blame game between the estranged couple after their daughter Sami joined OnlyFans.

According to Page Six, the “Two and a Half Men” star blamed his ex-wife Richards for Sami joining the platform at the time.

“She is 18 years old now and living with her mother. This did not occur under my roof,” he said. “I do not condone this, but since I’m unable to prevent it, I urged her to keep it classy, creative and not sacrifice her integrity.”

Shortly after, Richards defended herself, explaining that the decision wasn’t based on whose house Sami was living in.

“Sami is 18, and this decision wasn’t based on whose house she lives in. All I can do as a parent is guide her and trust her judgment, but she makes her own choices,” Richards told the news outlet.

Although Sheen initially stood firmly against Sami’s OnlyFans career, his opinion allegedly changed due to how lucrative it became for his daughter.

Richards confirmed this when she revealed on a podcast in November 2023 that Sheen felt differently after seeing how much money Sami has made off OnlyFans.

“He changed his tune when she bought a Mercedes and moved into a house,” the reality TV star said, per the New York Post.

In a recent turn of events, Charlie Sheen’s 19-year-old daughter, Sami Sheen, has made a life-changing decision to get baptized after hitting what she describes as “rock bottom.” In a heartfelt Instagram post, Sami shared her journey to finding faith and how Jesus saved her.

Sami opened up about her struggles with mental health and addiction, revealing that she had reached a dark place in her life before finding solace in her newfound faith. She expressed gratitude for the support of her family and friends throughout her journey and credited Jesus for giving her strength and a newfound sense of purpose.

The young Sheen also shared photos from her baptism ceremony, showing her beaming with joy and surrounded by loved ones. In her caption, she wrote, “I have hit rock bottom and I have completely fallen apart. But Jesus saved me. He gave me a purpose and showed me that I am loved unconditionally. Today, I am reborn in Christ and ready to begin a new chapter in my life.”

Fans and followers flooded Sami’s post with messages of love and support, commending her bravery and resilience in sharing her story. Many praised her for taking a positive step towards healing and finding peace in her faith.

It’s inspiring to see Sami Sheen’s journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth, and we wish her all the best in her continued path towards healing and happiness. Jesus truly does save, and Sami’s story is a powerful reminder of the transformative power of faith.

  • Houston power outages: Utility companies say crews are prepared for the January 2025 winter storm hitting southeast Texas

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — As the weather begins to roll in, one concern for many is keeping the power on for the millions of people who live across our area.

Utility companies across the area told ABC13 that crews have been working around the clock to prepare for the winter storm, saying they’re ready for whatever could come through.

CenterPoint Energy brought in additional resources from other states to prepare for this storm.

Representatives say it’s been a logistical challenge, but the forecast is one thing in their favor. They say less ice is expected, which should help prevent potential outages.

They told ABC13 they are concerned about drivers who could crash into power poles.

After mass power outages during Hurricane Beryl a few months ago, CenterPoint told ABC13 they had a call for change. They said they focused on more tree trimming and adding more and sturdier poles.

Eyewitness News said they feel confident with the improvements made.

Representatives with CenterPoint are doubling down on their readiness for anything and their ability to handle this winter storm.

“I mean, we have 3,000 workers here between our own crews and folks that work for CenterPoint locally. As well as 1,200 additional assistance folks from across the country. So, we feel scaled really well to meet the challenge,” Senior Vice President and Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Keith Stephens said.

Entergy Texas and Texas New Mexico Power also tell us they have line workers across the area standing by for the potential impacts this winter storm could have on you at home.
