  • Christopher Nolan’s Next Movie Might Beat The MCU To A Tom Holland Team-Up Everyone Is Waiting To See

The cast list for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is impressive, and its latest addition suggests that the highly anticipated movie will bring Tom Holland and one other Marvel actor together before the Marvel Cinematic Universe can. Holland, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the MCU, will star as an undisclosed character alongside several other renowned Hollywood actors in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film. Unfortunately, it’s unclear who will portray who in The Odyssey, meaning all roles are unknown, including the movie’s most recent casting.

Some reports state that Tom Holland will play the lead character in The Odyssey, implying his role is Odysseus. However, these reports are unconfirmed.

The Odyssey is an adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, chronicling Odysseus’ 10-year trek home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. So, based on the iconic work itself, some of the characters in Nolan’s next film should be Odysseus, Penelope, Athena, Poseidon, Telemachus, Antinous, Circe, Calypso, Menelaus, Nestor, and Polyphemus. Holland and other cast members such as Matt Damon, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, etc. could be playing any of them. Whatever the case, news of the latest actor to join the cast of Nolan’s The Odyssey should be exciting for MCU fans, as they will reunite with Holland on the big screen.

The Odyssey Might Give Us A Tom Holland & Jon Bernthal Reunion Before The MCU

Jon Bernthal Has Been Cast In Christopher Nolan’s Next Film

According to Deadline, Jon Bernthal has joined the already impressive ensemble of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Like the other cast members, Bernthal’s role in the movie is undisclosed. So, it’s unclear how much Bernthal will work directly with Tom Holland in the upcoming epic film. However, their sharing of the screen in The Odyssey reunites the two actors after they starred alongside one another in the 2017 medieval movie Pilgrimage.

    The Odyssey (2026) Cast

    Matt Damon

    Zendaya

    Tom Holland

    Lupita Nyong’o

    Anne Hathaway

    Robert Pattinson

    Charlize Theron

    Jon Bernthal

Holland played Brother Diarmuid in Pilgrimage, while Bernthal portrayed The Mute. Since 2017, though, Holland and Bernthal have yet to work together again, despite both having prominent roles in the MCU. Whereas Holland joined the MCU as Spider-Man in 2016 via Captain America: Civil War, Daredevil season 2 (which also debuted in 2016) introduced Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher. Still, the two native New Yorkers haven’t crossed paths in the MCU, meaning The Odyssey might reunite Holland and Bernthal before Marvel can get the chance to.

Holland & Bernthal Might Reunite In 2 Movies Back-To-Back Depending On What The MCU Has In Store

The Punisher Could Share Scenes With Spider-Man In Future MCU Projects

In March 2024, Jon Bernthal reprises his role as the Punisher in the Daredevil revival, Daredevil: Born Again. Consequently, he could appear in other MCU projects, even ones featuring Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. A shared scene between Frank and Peter in the MCU is quite feasible, especially after Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil made a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So, Holland and Bernthal might star in two back-to-back movies in 2026.

Ultimately, it’s unclear whether Holland’s Spider-Man and Bernthal’s Punisher will ever share the screen in the MCU.

Although the cast is mostly unconfirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, the film, which debuts on May 1, 2026, could feature Spider-Man and the Punisher. Or, the two characters might encounter one another in the untitled fourth Spider-Man movie, premiering on July 24, 2026. Ultimately, it’s unclear whether Holland’s Spider-Man and Bernthal’s Punisher will ever share the screen in the MCU. However, the two actors are confirmed to star alongside one another in The Odyssey on July 17, 2026.

  • SPIDER-MAN Star Tom Holland Will Reportedly Play The Lead Role In Christopher Nolan’s THE ODYSSEY

Following weeks of rumor and speculation, we recently got word that Christopher Nolan’s (The Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar) next movie will actually be an adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey, and the acclaimed filmmaker has assembled a very impressive cast of A-list talent, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron.

“Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand-new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026,” said Universal Pictures in a statement when the project was announced.

The initial trade report noted that Damon was set to play the main character (Odysseus, presumably), but Deadline is now reporting that Holland will actually lead the ensemble. Whether this means that the Spider-Man star is playing a younger take on Odysseus is not clear, but there’s always a chance the story will split focus between the legendary hero and his son, Telemachus, who also has a significant part in the original tale.

Homer’s ancient Greek poem follows Odysseus and his crew on their journey home following the Trojan War, encountering all manner of threats along the way, including the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe.

Will Nolan’s take feature gods and monsters? We assume the filmmaker will want to helm a faithful adaptation, but there’s always a chance he will decide to do a more grounded version of the story.

The poem has been adapted (sometimes very loosely) a number of times before, starting with the 1911 silent film by Giuseppe de Liguoro, and followed by 1954’s Ulysses starring Kirk Douglas. The Cohen Brothers’ O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) is also based on the epic adventure, as is 2024’s The Return starring Ralph Fiennes.

Anime fans may also recall the ’80s Ulysses 31 series, which put a futuristic spin on the tale.

Back in 2015, Deadpool and Wolverine star Hugh Jackman was in talks to play Odysseus in an adaptation from Lionsgate and director Francis Lawrence, but the project never got off the ground.

Holland was quizzed about the project during a recent interview, but claimed to have been kept in the dark during his initial meeting with Nolan.

“To be perfectly honest, I don’t really know what it’s about,” the actor said on The Dish podcast. “I’m super excited, but it’s been pretty quiet about the project. I met with [Nolan] and it was awesome. He kind of loosely pitched what it is, and I’m sure when he’s ready he’ll announce what it’s about.”

Exciting news for fans of both Spider-Man and Christopher Nolan! According to recent reports, Tom Holland is set to play the lead role in Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey.

The film is said to be a modern retelling of the classic Greek epic poem, following the journey of the hero Odysseus as he tries to return home after the Trojan War. With Nolan’s signature storytelling and Holland’s acting talent, this promises to be an epic adventure on the big screen.

Holland has already proven himself as a versatile actor, with his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe earning him critical acclaim. Now, fans can look forward to seeing him take on a new, challenging role in The Odyssey.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!

  • Secret Wars Fan Art Envisions Spider-Man Brawl Between Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield & Tom Holland

Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to close out Marvel Studios’ Multiverse Saga. This means that the epic crossover event will feature fan-favorite characters from across the last three phases, including all three cinematic versions of Spider-Man.

At the time of writing, the only confirmed cast members for Secret Wars are the Fantastic Four actors (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. However, several other superheroes have been rumored to appear, such as Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Others who are reportedly in the mix are the three live-action Spider-Mans, played by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland, which prompted artist artoftimetravel to create a piece of fan art that sees them battling one another for the survival of their respective universe. Check out the stunning Secret Wars fan art below.

Captain America 4 Trailer Debuts Epic New Red Hulk Footage as Tickets Go on Sale

To mark tickets going on sale, Marvel Studios debuts a new Red Hulk-filled trailer for Captain America: Brave New World.

Shared on Instagram, the Secret Wars fan art sees Maguire, Garfield, and Holland’s Spider-Mans fighting one another in space. “It is rumored that the three Spider-men will fight each other in Avengers: Secret Wars for the survival of their respective universe. Who do you think would win this fight?” the artist captioned the post.

Avengers: Secret Wars was announced at 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con and is expected to serve as a direct sequel to Avengers: Doomsday (originally announced as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty). While story details remain under wraps, Marvel Studios has begun to lay the groundwork for Secret Wars in some of its movies. The 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness seemingly set up the Secret Wars storyline with its end-credits scene mentioning an impending “incursion,” a term pulled from the 2015 Secret Wars comic book storyline that is used to describe two worlds that are about to collide. 2023’s The Marvels also dealt with multiple realities, with the movie ending with Monica Rambeau trapped in a parallel universe that is home to the X-Men.

The Russo Brothers Are Returning to Direct Secret Wars

Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed Shang-Chi, was originally set to direct the fifth Avengers movie back when it was still known as The Kang Dynasty. While no director was ever officially attached to Secret Wars, Michael Waldron had been hired to script both Avengers sequels following his work on Loki and Multiverse of Madness. However, at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Joe and Anthony Russo were confirmed to be returning to Marvel to helm the retitled Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, with Stephen McFeely joining them as writer for both movies.

  • 60 sick in fourth Holland America norovirus outbreak since early Dec.

In the latest outbreak of norovirus on a Holland America cruise ship, 60 passengers have fallen ill since early December. This is the fourth reported outbreak of the highly contagious stomach bug on a Holland America vessel in recent weeks, raising concerns about the cruise line’s handling of the situation.

Norovirus outbreaks are not uncommon on cruise ships, but the frequency of incidents on Holland America ships has raised alarm among passengers and health officials alike. The cruise line has come under scrutiny for its response to the outbreaks, with some critics accusing them of not taking adequate measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Passengers on affected cruises have reported experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps, leading to a less-than-pleasant vacation experience. Holland America has stated that they are taking steps to sanitize the ship and prevent further spread of the virus, but some passengers remain skeptical of the cruise line’s efforts.

With the busy holiday season approaching, it is more important than ever for cruise lines to take proactive measures to protect their passengers from illness. Hopefully, Holland America will take this latest outbreak as a learning opportunity and make necessary improvements to prevent future incidents.

The actor, 28, who starred in Apple TV+’s limited series The Crowded Room, revealed that the set of the thriller series was less than pleasant in a new interview with Men’s Health.

“There was quite a lot of animosity on that set. It was not a very harmonious place, and there was a lot of arguing and butting heads,” he said.

According to Holland, the disagreements weren’t over creative differences, which the outlet noted he welcomes, regardless of whether or not they become heated.

“I thought, ‘If I start drinking again now, with all this going on, it’s gonna get worse, right?’” he recalled.

Nevertheless, Holland said that he was “quite strong-willed. When I decide to do something, I’m really gonna do it.”

“I leaned on close ones a lot: family, friends, old colleagues, new colleagues, people that reached out that I didn’t know who also were sober,” he added of his sobriety.

‘It was a tough time, for sure,” he told Extra of working on the project. “We were exploring certain emotions that I have definitely never experienced before. And then on top of that, being a producer, dealing with the day-to-day problems that come with any film set, just added that extra level of pressure.”

“I’m now taking a year off, and that is a result of how difficult this show was,” he added at the time.

In a recent interview, Tom Holland opened up about his experience working on the upcoming Apple TV+ series, ‘The Crowded Room’. The actor revealed that there was “a lot of animosity” on set, but clarified that it was all in service of the intense and emotionally charged scenes they were filming.

Holland plays the lead role in the anthology series, which explores the true stories of people who have struggled with mental illness and the impact it has had on their lives. The actor shared that delving into such heavy subject matter took a toll on the cast and crew, leading to tensions and conflicts behind the scenes.

Despite the challenges they faced, Holland emphasized that the end result is a powerful and impactful series that sheds light on important issues surrounding mental health. He expressed his admiration for his co-stars and the dedication they all brought to their roles, even if it meant facing difficult emotions and navigating interpersonal conflicts.

‘The Crowded Room’ is set to premiere later this year, and fans can expect to see a raw and authentic portrayal of mental illness that is sure to spark important conversations. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated series.

  • Tom Holland says he leaned on ‘close ones’ to maintain his early sobriety

Tom Holland says he leaned on ‘close ones’ to maintain his early sobriety

    CNN
     —

For those who observe “dry January,” consider letting actor Tom Holland motivate you to keep going.

Holland is now more than two years sober, according to the “Spider-Man” star, who spoke to Men’s Health in an interview published Thursday, and he opened up about those who have supported him along his way.

His initial decision to stop drinking, however, is something Holland decided to do on his own and without formal treatment.

“I’m quite strong-willed. When I decide to do something, I’m really gonna do it,” he told the publication. “I leaned on close ones a lot: family, friends, old colleagues, new colleagues, people that reached out that I didn’t know who also were sober.”

Holland’s lawyer, who he did not name, was also integral to his journey early on during a moment of weakness, offering Holland what he described as “a really poignant piece of advice that helped me get through everything.”

That insight, Holland said, was that “you’ll never wake up the morning after a night out and wish you had a drink. That piece of advice really rang true to me, because my problem was that I would have one drink and be fine, and then I would just go too far.”

Holland, who recently launched his own line of non-alcoholic beer called Bero, also recalled some of the work-related challenges he was met with.

Tom Holland's non-alcoholic beer Bero during an event in New York in October.

He specifically recalled his experience on the set of his 2022 TV series “A Crowded Room,” on which he started alongside Amanda Seyfried and Emmy Rossum.

“There was quite a lot of animosity on that set. It was not a very harmonious place, and there was a lot of arguing and butting heads,” he said, clarifying that the tension wasn’t related to creative differences but did not go into detail about what.

He added that he thought to himself, “If I start drinking again now, with all this going on, it’s gonna get worse, right?”

Holland also took a year-long break from acting after filming the series. He’s now back in action and was recently announced as part of the cast of director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic “The Odyssey.”

In a recent interview, actor Tom Holland opened up about his struggles with sobriety and how he leaned on his “close ones” to maintain his early sobriety. The Spider-Man star revealed that he sought support from friends and family members during his journey to stay sober.

Holland, who has been candid about his past struggles with alcohol and drugs, shared that having a strong support system was crucial in helping him stay on the right path. He emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with people who truly care and want to see you succeed.

The actor also credited his own determination and commitment to staying sober, saying that he knew he had to make a change in order to live a healthier and happier life. Holland’s honesty and vulnerability in discussing his sobriety journey have resonated with many fans who may be facing similar challenges.

Ultimately, Holland’s story serves as a reminder that seeking help and relying on loved ones can make all the difference in maintaining sobriety. His openness about his struggles and triumphs is not only inspiring but also a testament to the power of perseverance and self-care.

Spider-Man 4 Delay? Rumors of Script Issues and Tom Holland Drama

Three separate scoopers claim that Spider-Man 4 is in big trouble, including reports that Tom Holland is butting heads with Marvel head Kevin Feige over the story. Rumors also suggest there are issues with the script.

Previous reports have suggested something similar, indicating that Feige and Sony have been butting heads, as Sony reportedly wants Spider-Man 4 released as soon as possible. It’s also claimed that some want another big multiverse-style story, similar to No Way Home, while others prefer bringing Spider-Man back to a street-level focus with characters like Daredevil. Black Cat is currently rumored to be the female lead.

Recently saw the news that Spider-Man 4 will get released July 26, 2026 directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and will film next year.

What does My Time To Shine Hello say? Changing everything

Rumors about problems with Spider-Man 4 seem to have recently originated from scooper My Time To Shine Hello (MTSSH). While MTSSH has been hit or miss lately—possibly due to Marvel shutting down Can We Get Some Toast—this one may have some truth.

Last week saw MTSSH say that Tom Holland likes the Spider-Man 4 story but Kevin Feige does not and that they are:

“now rewriting it and changing everything. The script isn’t ready yet and won’t be for a while.

What does Daniel RPK say? Script is facing problems

Following MTSSH’s rumor, Daniel RPK chimed in and indeed said the Spider-Man 4 script is having issues:

    • The script is facing problems.

    • The writing team is trying to fix the plot and improve the story.

    • Following the success of No Way Home, Kevin Feige and Sony felt pressured and want to deliver something better.

What does Jeff Sneider say? Release date possibly pushed back

On a recent episode of the Hot Mic podcast, a fan asked about Daniel RPK’s claims that the Spider-Man 4 script is undergoing significant rewrites, with Marvel boss Kevin Feige taking the lead on creative input. The goal is reportedly to elevate the original script, which Feige was not satisfied with.

Co-host Jon Rocha added that Tom Holland said the script is great, but Sneider interjected and blasted, “What are we expecting Tom to say?! There could be no script! Tom is signing on to Odyssey movies without knowing what the script is!”

Sneider added, “We got to stop listening to Tom Holland… Just the f’k up.”

Rocha asked Sneider if he thinks it will push the release date, which saw Sneider reply, “Yes.” Rocha also asked Sneider if he believes it’s a page one rewrite; Sneider replied, “Yes.”

Sneider continued and mentioned he thinks the third Spider-Verse film will be released in 2026 and that Spider-Man 4 will be pushed back a year to 2027:

From what I heard from my source, I don’t think that Sony will release two Spider-Man movies in the same year. There won’t be a movie next year, so if there is one in 2026 then one of them is to come in 2027 under that logic.

So right now I think the plan was always to have Spider-Man ready in time for 2026, in which case Beyond would be 2027 but at this point – because I heard Beyond would be ready by 2026 [so] they would just hold it [until 2027] to avoid [Spider-Man 4] – now at this point maybe Beyond comes out in 2026 and Spider-Man 4 goes 2027. Maybe March 2027 because [The Batman: Part II] is on October.

Spider-Man 4 before Avengers: Secret Wars

Worth a mention is that it seems Spider-Man 4 will have to be released before Avengers: Secret Wars which gets released on May 7, 2027, so if Spider-Man 4 drops March 2027 that will be similar to how Captain Marvel was released a month before Avengers: Endgame. Captain Marvel wasn’t a good movie yet still made a lot of money, which we now know is because it was sandwiched between Infinity War and Endgame. No one showed up for the sequel and it lost Disney $200 million and is the MCU’s worst-performing movie of all time. So Spider-Man 4 getting released a month before Secret Wars should obviously be nothing to worry about.

Tom Holland is also said to be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, which gets released on May 1, 2026. The present release date for Spider-Man 4 again is July 26, 2026, so any changes shouldn’t impact Doomsday.

There have been recent rumors circulating about potential delays for the highly anticipated film Spider-Man 4. Speculations have been growing about script issues and drama involving the film’s star, Tom Holland.

The script for Spider-Man 4 has reportedly been facing some challenges, with writers struggling to find the right balance between action, humor, and character development. This has led to concerns that the film may not meet the high expectations set by its predecessors.

In addition, there have been whispers of drama surrounding Tom Holland, who has played the beloved superhero since 2016. Some sources claim that Holland is unhappy with certain aspects of the script and has been pushing for changes, causing tension on set.

While these rumors have not been confirmed by the film’s production team, fans are growing increasingly anxious about the potential delays and changes to the highly anticipated sequel. Only time will tell if Spider-Man 4 will be able to overcome these obstacles and deliver the thrilling and captivating experience that fans have come to expect from the franchise. Stay tuned for more updates as the situation unfolds.
