  • SECRET WARS Fan Art Pits Tom Holland’s SPIDER-MAN Against Tobey Maguire And Andrew Garfield

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker met two of his alternate reality doppelgangers (played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield). However, in a surprising twist, the heroes never came to blows!

It’s become something of a trope in comic books for heroes who meet to initially brawl before taking on a greater threat. For those of you disappointed that didn’t happen back in 2021, this newly revealed fan art is likely to hit the right spot.

As you can see below, it imagines the three Spider-Men coming to blows during Avengers: Secret Wars. It’s a spectacular visual that teases an amazing battle we could have only dreamed of seeing before the Multiverse Saga.

Garfield was recently asked about his possible future as Peter #3 and replied, “I’m gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no [I’m not in Spider-Man 4]. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”

However, in the same conversation, he didn’t close the door on returning to a big franchise. “If it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun. Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something.”

The Russo Brothers are big fans of Spider-Man – they brought Holland’s version into the MCU in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War – and we’d imagine they’ll leap at the chance to have these three share the screen again.

“Endgame was the end, and it took a little time for us to begin to think about it as something other than an end,” Anthony explained in a recent interview. “We’re very close with Kevin and Lou [D’Esposito, Marvel Studios’ Co-President] and the entire Marvel team and we’ve had conversations through the years. We’ve talked about a lot of ideas.”

It was reportedly then that inspiration for Secret Wars struck. “Really what happened was, we ended up stumbling upon an idea that activated all of us,” he added. “You couldn’t see it coming until it came, and once it came it was like, ‘Well, that’s a story we need to tell.’”

According to Joe, “There were ideas that we were trying to wrap our heads around that preceded this one, and we just never found the story. I remember calling [Stephen McFeely] and said, ‘Hey, crazy idea. What do you think if we all go back and do Secret Wars?’ You were like, ‘F*** no. Absolutely not. And then you hung up. And the next morning at 7.30 you called and were like, ‘Alright, I have an idea.’”

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in May 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive in May 2027.

Cillian Murphy & Tom Holland’s $100M Adventure Movie About The True Story That Inspired One Of The Greatest Books Of All Time Is Now On Netflix

Years before Cillian Murphy won an Oscar for Oppenheimer and Tom Holland’s Marvel movies broke box office records, the two renowned actors starred together in In the Heart of the Sea, which is now streaming on Netflix. The 2015 historical adventure film featured many other notable stars. However, Murphy and Holland are undoubtedly two of the most in-demand actors in 2025, with Murphy coming off his Academy Award win for Best Actor and Holland’s everlasting success with Spider-Man and beyond.

Now, Murphy is set to return for 28 Years Later, the third film in the 28 Days Later series, as an executive producer (and possibly onscreen as his character, Jim). Murphy will also reprise his iconic Peaky Blinders role in The Immortal Man, a continuation of the BBC show. Meanwhile, Holland is among the star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s next movie, an adaptation of The Odyssey. And Holland will return in the upcoming untitled fourth Spider-Man film. But if fans want to look back on the actors’ careers, the one movie Murphy and Holland did together is on Netflix as of January 1, 2025.

In The Heart Of The Sea Is About The Real 1820 Whaling Ship Sinking That Inspired Moby Dick

The 2015 Film Is Based On Nathaniel Philbrick’s 2000 Non-Fiction Book

Cillian Murphy and Tom Holland’s In the Heart of the Sea tells the true story of the sinking of the Essex, an American whaling ship, in 1820, which is what partly inspired Herman Melville’s 1851 novel Moby-Dick. Murphy stars as Matthew Joy, the ship’s second mate, while Holland plays Thomas Nickerson, the Essex‘s cabin boy. Both characters are based on real people who were on the Essex when a whale rammed into it, damaging it to the point where it inevitably sunk.

The Essex set sail from Nantucket in August 1819 on what was supposed to be a two-and-a-half-year voyage to hunt whales. However, a whale attacked the boat more than a year into the journey. On November 20, 1820, the Essex was about 2,000 miles west of Ecuador when the whale rammed repeatedly into the ship, resulting in its sinking. The survivors made do with the wreckage, retreated to smaller whaling boats, and attempted to sail towards the nearest land. Unfortunately, their mission wasn’t very successful.

In the Heart of the Sea showcased Holland’s acting chops before people started recognizing him for playing Spider-Man in the MCU.

Much happened during the three months after the Essex sank, when the survivors tried to stay alive, and it’s all documented in In the Heart of the Sea. The true story also partly inspired Melville to write his acclaimed novel Moby-Dick. In the book, a sailor, Ishmael, recounts the mission of Captain Ahab, who seeks vengeance against Moby Dick, a whale that maimed him on his previous voyage.

In The Heart Of The Sea Is One Of Tom Holland’s Best Early Performances Before Spider-Man

The historical adventure drama film In the Heart of the Sea premiered six months before Tom Holland made his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in Captain America: Civil War. Obviously, Holland’s breakout role is as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. However, he had a couple of impressive performances before joining the MCU, like his role as young Thomas Nickerson in In the Heart of the Sea in 2015 (and as Lucas in the 2012 disaster film The Impossible).

Netflix’s New #1 Trending Show Is A Great Reminder To Watch Tom Holland & Ewan McGregor’s 12-Year-Old Disaster Movie Based On A True Story

Viewers who loved Netflix’s brand-new disaster miniseries La Palma should check out this 2012 tsunami movie starring Tom Holland and Ewan McGregor.

Ron Howard’s movie In the Heart of the Sea didn’t receive the best reviews at the time of its release (it has a 42 percent Rotten Tomatoes score). However, critics still praised the cast’s performances, including Holland’s. Even though Holland wasn’t the star he is now, many applauded the young actor for his talent on the screen, acting opposite a couple of bigger names. Ultimately, In the Heart of the Sea showcased Holland’s acting chops before people started recognizing him for playing Spider-Man in the MCU.

In The Heart Of The Sea’s Netflix Release Gives It A Great Chance To Redeem Its 2015 Box Office Failure

The Film Only Grossed $94 Million At The Box Office

As briefly mentioned above, In the Heart of the Sea wasn’t exactly a hit among critics as many had mixed feelings about it. However, the 2015 movie was also a failure at the box office. In the Heart of the Sea only grossed a little over $94 million against a budget of $100 million, officially making it a box office bomb despite featuring a stellar cast and a familiar story.

While In the Heart of the Sea didn’t premiere the same week as some heavy hitters, it was surrounded by them, which perhaps contributed to its box office disappointment. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 was released on November 20, 2015, three weeks before the historical adventure film debuted. Plus, Star Wars: The Force Awakens (one of the highest-grossing movies of all time) premiered one week after In the Heart of the Sea, meaning it had a lot of competition while in theaters.

Chris Hemsworth’s Horror-Comedy Film With 92% Rotten Tomatoes Score Gets Free Streaming Home

One of the most critically acclaimed horror films of the past two decades is heading to a new streaming home for the new year.

Acclaimed filmmaker Ron Howard directed and co-produced In the Heart of the Sea from a screenplay written by Charles Leavitt, based on a story by Leavitt, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver. Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, and Michelle Fairley round out the ensemble for the historical adventure movie. Despite boasting an all-star cast and an Oscar-winning director, In the Heart of the Sea was a major flop at the box office, grossing just $94.3 million worldwide, which was not enough to recoup its $100 million production budget.

In the Heart of the Sea Indirectly Helped Tom Holland Become the MCU’s Spider-Man

Despite being released in December 2015, six months after Holland was cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, production on In the Heart of the Sea began way back in September 2013. Although Hemsworth was not part of the cast for Captain America: Civil War, the MCU movie that Holland debuted in as Spider-Man, the actor previously shared with Entertainment Tonight that he was still instrumental in helping the young actor land the iconic superhero role.

“I mean, look, we worked on In the Heart of the Sea together, obviously, then through Avengers and as they were casting him for Spider-Man, I did what I could do and made a call,” he revealed in 2019. “[I] said he’s one of the most talented people I’ve worked with and has such a big heart and appreciation. I don’t know, we have a great friendship, it’s a good mutual respect.”

  • Why Tom Holland’s Non-Alcoholic Beer Brand Bero Could Be The Next Big Thing

Why Tom Holland’s Non-Alcoholic Beer Brand Bero Could Be The Next Big Thing

Hollywood actor Tom Holland recently launched Bero, a non-alcoholic beer brand that positions itself at the forefront of a growing movement toward mindful drinking. In an industry now seemingly dominated by celebrity-backed drinks, Holland obviously isn’t the first to go this route, but he is one of the first to dedicate his efforts to a zero-proof beer brand, a decision that could reshape perceptions of sobriety and wellness in mainstream culture.

The global non-alcoholic beer market is expanding rapidly, valued at $21.94 billion in 2024 and projected to reach $31.99 billion by 2028, according to The Business Research Company. Holland’s move into this space, timed around cultural shifts and peak sober events like Dry January and Sober October, underscores the significance of his first-mover advantage.

“His celebrity status alone is enough to grab people’s attention and spark curiosity about the brand,” says Kyra Taurman, executive creative director at marketing intelligence firm Gradient, via email. “Being the first celebrity in this space gives him the chance to position himself as a leader in the non-alcoholic beer market.”

Holland’s personal connection to the brand strengthens its resonance. Having publicly shared his decision to quit drinking, the actor’s transparency adds credibility to Bero. Unlike celebrity ventures that feel disconnected from their owners’ lifestyles, Bero reflects Holland’s own values. Taurman emphasizes the importance of authenticity in the NA market: “Sobriety is too serious a topic for superficiality or insincerity. Tom has launched a brand that aligns with his lifestyle, making Bero relatable and trustworthy.”

This alignment stands in contrast to other celebrity-led alcohol ventures that have faced criticism for perceived contradictions. Taurman points to Jennifer Lopez’s recent launch of an alcoholic spritz brand, which drew skepticism due to her previously stated commitment to sobriety. By rooting Bero in his own experiences, Holland avoids such pitfalls and builds trust with consumers, particularly younger demographics.

The timing of Bero’s launch capitalizes on the generational shift in drinking habits, particularly among Generation Z. Members of this cohort, who drink 20% less than millennials on average, prioritize mental health and wellness. A World Finance report reveals that 86% of Gen Z consumers consider their mental health as significant as their physical health when evaluating alcohol consumption. This shift has created a growing demand for alcohol-free alternatives that allow for social rituals without compromising health.

“Gen Z wants real connections,” says Taurman. “They’re connecting over non-alcoholic adaptogens, spritzes and concoctions instead of regretting last night’s tequila. Non-alcoholic is a way to keep the social ritual alive without compromising their reputation or their health.” Bero’s positioning taps into these values, presenting itself as an everyday option rather than a substitute for special occasions.

To sustain its momentum, Bero will need to innovate and differentiate itself within the competitive alcohol-free market. Taurman suggests that collaborations beyond the traditional beverage space could help maintain its appeal. “Partnering with brands in tech, fashion or wellness could generate buzz and draw in new demographics,” she explains. Packaging also presents an opportunity. Eye-catching designs that tell a story could encourage consumers to choose Bero over more established brands like Heineken.

Engaging consumers through immersive experiences could further strengthen the brand’s presence. Taurman envisions customizable drink labs at events such as food expos or college campuses, where consumers can design their own non-alcoholic beverages. “This kind of experience leaves a lasting impression,” she says. These strategies would help solidify Bero’s place in everyday drinking culture, beyond seasonal boosts like Dry January.

Holland’s entry into the non-alcoholic beer market arrives as the sober-curious movement gains traction, amplified by celebrity endorsements. Sustaining interest, however, will require a commitment to innovation and alignment with the values of younger consumers.

Taurman predicts this trend will continue, with more high-profile figures entering the space: “Mixing sober curious consumers with celebrity-endorsed lifestyle products will only amplify the non-alcoholic market share.”

Tom Holland, best known for his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently launched his own non-alcoholic beer brand called Bero. While many may be skeptical about a superhero actor entering the beverage industry, there are several reasons why Bero could be the next big thing.

First and foremost, the rise in popularity of non-alcoholic beverages is undeniable. More and more people are looking for healthier alternatives to traditional alcoholic drinks, and non-alcoholic beer has been gaining traction in the market. With Tom Holland’s star power and influence, Bero has the potential to tap into this growing trend and attract a wide range of consumers.

Additionally, Bero is not just your average non-alcoholic beer. The brand prides itself on using high-quality ingredients and innovative brewing techniques to create a product that rivals traditional alcoholic beers in terms of taste and quality. This commitment to excellence sets Bero apart from other non-alcoholic beer brands and could be a key factor in its success.

Furthermore, Tom Holland’s personal connection to the brand adds a unique and authentic touch. As a well-known advocate for living a healthy lifestyle, Holland’s involvement in Bero demonstrates his genuine interest in promoting responsible drinking habits and providing consumers with a delicious non-alcoholic option.

Overall, with its focus on quality, taste, and health-consciousness, Bero has the potential to make a significant impact in the non-alcoholic beer market. As Tom Holland continues to expand his brand and reach, we may just see Bero become the next big thing in the beverage industry.
