Teddi Mellencamp allegedly had a bombshell affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder – and now his wife, Karli, has officially filed for divorce. 

The RHOBH alum, 43, announced her divorce from her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave, last month on November 2.

And shortly after, a source claimed to DailyMail.com that her infidelity with Schroeder had been the catalyst behind her shock split from Arroyave – whom she shares three children with. 

Nearly two months after the news of Teddi and Edwin’s separation came to light as well as the affair scandal, with wife of Simon Schroeder has now taken the step to file for divorce, per documents obtained by Us Weekly. 

Karli – who had been pregnant with their second child at the time of the alleged infidelity – filed paperwork on Monday, December 30 in Los Angeles County. 

She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split, with their date of marriage as April, 14, 2024. The mother-of-two additionally cited their date of separation as September 22, 2024.

Karli and Simon had previously been married before it was annulled in February of this year. However, two months later, they said ‘I do’ once again. 

According to the outlet, she is requesting primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their kids: Lena, three, and seven-month-old Henry. 

Schroeder’s wife has also asked for spousal support and for Simon to pay her attorney fees.

It comes after Teddi also announced her divorce from Edwin Arroyave – whom she had tied the knot with in 2011.

The former couple share three children: Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, four. Upon marrying, Mellencamp also became stepmother to Edwin’s other daughter, Isabella, 15, from a previous relationship. 

On November 2, she took to her main Instagram page and penned to her fans and followers, ‘After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce.’

‘My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.’

Teddi added, ‘Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward.’

Just one week before the divorce announcement, Edwin posted a heartfelt tribute to Teddi after they attended the Cure Melanoma gala together.

On November 1, Mellencamp officially filed for divorce and cited the date of separation as October 20. She also requested for primary legal and physical custody of their children.

Edwin also filed for divorce and on his end, listed the date of separation as November 1, and asked for joint legal and physical custody of their kids. 

Also last month, a source claimed to DailyMail.com that Teddi’s months-long affair with Simon had been a reason for her split from Arroyave.

Mellencamp and Schroeder’s alleged cheating scandal took place behind their spouse’s backs.

The horse trainer was married to Karli at the time the affair took place. While Karli was in labor with her second child in California, Simon had been in Florida with Teddi. 

‘Karli thought it was suspicious that her husband was in Florida when she was giving birth,’ the insider stated.

‘When Simon returned, Karli found text messages on Simon’s phone that exposed the affair. She confronted Simon and Teddi about it and they confessed. Teddi promised it would not happen again.’

The source added, ‘Karli didn’t tell Edwin when she found out. She was willing to give Simon another chance and stayed with him. But last month, Karli found proof that the affair was ongoing and that it had become “emotional.”‘

‘Simon had a history of cheating and Karli was tired of being connected to him. Edwin only learned of the affair late last month when Karli told him.’

The insider then stated that Teddi, ‘filed for divorce from Edwin so that he did not have the chance to file and get her for adultery.’

‘It has been alleged that the marriage ended because Edwin cheated on Teddi, but it is actually the other way around.’

The Real Housewives alum – who has been open about her battle with skin cancer – broke her silence after news of the alleged cheating scandal came to light.

Along with a glammed up selfie, she added a cryptic caption which read, ‘When you’re being pushed into the shadows always find your light.’

And on her Instagram stories, she also posted a quote from Bruce Lee which read: ‘Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.’

Last month, a source told Us Weekly that Teddi and Edwin had been in couples therapy ‘for years’ before announcing their separation. 

Teddi broke her silence once again on her podcast Two Ts In A Pod with Tamra Judge and expressed, ‘What I can say, which I’m trying very…there’s multiple sides to every story.’ 

‘I’m not going to confirm or deny anything,’ the TV personality continued, while adding that ‘there’s many people involved.’

‘I once again, say the same statement I said before – the kids, they’re the priority; for the time being that’s all I’m going to discuss on this. Small kids are involved, family members – you don’t want to throw other people under the bus.’ 

‘When it comes to kids and other people’s lives that didn’t sign up for this or did sign up for this, I got to just take a beat…’ 

Amid the affair scandal, Mellencamp later took to social media to share that she has ‘apologized for things’ that she did ‘wrong.’  

Earlier this month, Teddi moved in with her RHOBH star, Kyle Richards – who also split from husband Mauricio Umansky, last year. 

The TV personality did not spend Thanksgiving with Edwin, and also seemingly spent Christmas alone. 

At the time, she took to social media as she recreated an iconic scene from Bridget Jones Diary (2001) as she sang All By Myself by Celine Dion. 

In the caption, she wrote, ‘In my Bridget Jones era. If I didn’t laugh at myself, I would cry. First Christmas without my kids, and I know they’re in great hands with an amazing dad, but that doesn’t mean I can’t feel some type of way.’ 

‘Ordered $74 of Thai food, [ate] cookie dough (who has time to bake) and watched nine episodes of Lioness.’ 

In conclusion, the star added, ‘To all my parents out there going through this, I love you. What are all the tips for powering through?’ 

One day after the holiday, she paid a bizarre tribute to her estranged husband while admitting that she is ‘far from perfect.’

Not long before Christmas, Mellencamp reunited with Simon Schroeder as her daughter, Slate, took part in an equestrian competition. 

At one point, the horse trainer was seen holding a big smile on his face as he watched Teddi take photos of her child.
