  • Match Preview: Tullberg’s Troops to Host Shakhtar Donetsk at Home

Barely have we recovered from BVB’s most recent implosion against Werder Bremen before it’s once again time to sit ourselves in front of the screen for another 90 minutes of exciting attacking football. Gregor Kobel mentioned in the press conference for this game, that the squad needs a success. While it seem kinda obvious, it’s true nonetheless. This team really need to win some football matches and convince themselves that they’re good enough to be one of Germany’s and Europe’s biggest teams. Tomorrow they’re facing a team that has a lot of experience in the Champions League, namely Shakhtar Donetsk from Ukraine. Although Shakhtar is a well known name around the European continent, they haven’t exactly been at their best in recent years. Currently they’re sitting 3rd in the Ukrainian division with 10 full points behind Dynamo Kiev in 1st.

If you need a good reason to watch this game, just know that Shakhtar have been playing at the Veltins Arena in Germany as their makeshift stadium because of… You know. That should be reason enough to get some people in here fired up!

    Player to Watch: Salih Özcan?

We all know that I know absolutely nothing about the current Shakhtar Donetsk squad. Instead, I want to focus on Dortmund’s first and probably also last “transfer” of this winter window (Kehl, what the f*ck is happening?). Good ol’ Salih Özcan has returned from the Wolfsburg bench, and honestly, I think it’s a fine move that suits all parties. With Nmecha out injured, Dortmund are in desperate need of someone who can occupy the number six position. And while Özcan never really delivered in black and yellow, he was still a fine servant, although with some fluctuations in terms of his performances. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Özcan thrown right into the mix tomorrow. He know the team, and he knows the position. Let’s make the best of it.

    Predicted Starting XI

Süle is out and Nmecha is out. That about does it for the absences. Tullberg has plethora of different options to choose from tomorrow, and we can’t really know who he favors until the starting XI is officially out. I don’t expect too much to change, which is also reflected in my prediction below.

    Source: https://www.buildlineup.com/

Honestly, at this point, it’s anybody’s game at Borussia Dortmund. Players like Reyna and Duranville have even been on trial in the starting XI in recent weeks, but all logic tells me that Tullberg won’t take too many chances, as the team are in desperate need of a win.

    Score Prediction

I think that Dortmund played a fine game against Bremen on the weekend—and that was with ten men on the field. It’s really hard to say how much of the success can be attributed to Mike Tullberg working with the squad for 3 days, but at least there was something. Are my hopes high? Absolutely not. Do I think we will win? Yeah, kinda.

Match Preview: Tullberg’s Troops to Host Shakhtar Donetsk at Home

Excitement is building as Tullberg’s Troops prepare to host Shakhtar Donetsk at their home ground in what promises to be an intense and thrilling match. Both teams have been in impressive form in recent weeks, making this a highly anticipated showdown.

Tullberg’s Troops have been on a winning streak, with their attacking prowess and solid defense proving to be a formidable combination. Led by their star striker, the team has been scoring goals for fun and will be looking to continue their winning ways against Shakhtar Donetsk.

On the other hand, Shakhtar Donetsk is a team known for their technical ability and quick counterattacks. They will be looking to exploit any weaknesses in the Tullberg’s Troops defense and secure a crucial away victory.

With both teams in top form, this match promises to be a thrilling and closely contested affair. Fans can expect end-to-end action, skillful play, and plenty of goals as these two teams battle it out for supremacy on the field.

So, mark your calendars and make sure to tune in to see Tullberg’s Troops take on Shakhtar Donetsk in what is sure to be a match to remember. Let the games begin!

  • How To Watch The 2025 GRAMMYs Live: Performers, Host, Air Date, Red Carpet, Streaming Channels & More

The 2025 GRAMMYs, officially known as the 67th GRAMMY Awards, will air live on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday, Feb. 2. Watch highlights from the 2025 GRAMMYs on live.GRAMMY.com.

The 2025 GRAMMYs telecast will be reimagined to raise funds to support wildfire relief efforts and aid music professionals impacted by the wildfires in Los Angeles. Donate to the Recording Academy’s and MusiCares’ Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort To Support Music Professionals.

Editor’s Note: This interview was conducted before the onset of the wildfires in Los Angeles. The artist has since addressed the situation.

Forrest Frank joins our Zoom call early, marker in hand, a stack of CHILD OF GOD album inserts set before him. With several boxes’ worth still to be signed, the 29-year-old singer/songwriter anticipates the task will take “all day”; luckily, he’s perfected the art of the quick autograph.

“I didn’t have a signature originally, so I’d just print ‘Forrest.’ At some point, I just decided to figure out how to do it in cursive, so now it’s like a big ‘F’ and the rest… you can kind of pick up on the squiggles enough to see that there are letters in there,” he grins as he holds one of the freshly inked inserts up to the camera.

The fact that Frank has formalized his autograph — coupled with the sheer volume of inserts awaiting it — is further proof that his first Christian LP has been a massive success. Upon its July release, CHILD OF GOD debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, where it stayed for 13 weeks, marking the largest Christian album debut of the year. In October, Frank took home GMA Dove Awards for New Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for the album’s lead single, “GOOD DAY.” And in November, the 20-track project earned Frank his first GRAMMY nomination, as CHILD OF GOD is up for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at the 2025 GRAMMYs.

    Loading…

Along the way, he sold out the entirety of his North American headline tour in support of the album, prompting a second leg. He’ll hit the road for another 26 dates starting in March.

The album’s resonance is partly owed to its fresh and forward-thinking approach to Christian music; CHILD OF GOD conveys sentiments classic of faith-based music in a breezy, catchy fashion. It’s the same buoyant sound that has attracted listeners to Frank’s secular music for the past eight years, just under different monikers: first, as one half of surf-pop duo Surfaces, then as Forrest., Frank’s indie-pop solo venture. And it’s no coincidence that his latest project uses his full name — for Frank, CHILD OF GOD is his truest expression of self yet.

“When I was growing up, I didn’t necessarily have cool Christian music to listen to. If I was going to the gym or if I was at the beach, it seemed like there weren’t really any Christian songs that would fit those facets of life… So, I aspired to make Christian music that I think is cool,” he tells GRAMMY.com. “I’m just making it the way that I love it. I think that authenticity is what kids resonate with.”

While Frank is aware that Christian music isn’t for everyone (he even admits he “couldn’t foresee any success from it” when he first started making it), seeing the reaction to CHILD OF GOD has been both fulfilling and reassuring. But he refuses to accept any of its glory: “It’s felt like God is just holding my hand through it, so I can’t take any credit for it.”

He also recognizes the power of the message he’s sharing, especially in hard times. Amid the wildfire tragedy in Los Angeles, Frank looked to his faith, urging others to do the same. “It’s hard to even begin to fathom the loss that our friends and family in the LA area are going through… I’m praying for an increase of supernatural peace to everyone in the area,” he shares. “And to my listeners, I hope you can find a glimpse of God’s hope and joy in my music. His love is always present, regardless of our circumstances.”

As Frank continues sharing God’s message in his own way, he’s excited for his music to continue reaching and inspiring new audiences — whether they consider themselves religious or not.

On the heels of CHILD OF GOD‘s GRAMMY recognition, Frank chatted with GRAMMY.com about pivoting from pop to Contemporary Christian Music and why he credits all of his success to God.

This interview has been condensed and edited for clarity.

What was going through your head when you found out you’d been nominated for your first GRAMMY?

It’s just been this open door after open door. It’s not like I grew up with a crazy voice. Music was more of a vision I had, like maybe I can make a song. It started as that, and then it became, Maybe if I put music on SoundCloud, people will appreciate it. They did, and then it became, Maybe I can put this on Spotify, and I did.

Each thing was just like I think I can do this, let me do it, and it’s just hilarious to get a GRAMMY nomination from that posture. This certainly wasn’t a goal; it wasn’t like I woke up like, I’m going to go get a GRAMMY nomination.

Has it been difficult to accept and process your success, especially since you attribute all your achievements to God?

It was maybe difficult before I started doing explicitly Christian music, but this journey of the Forrest Frank brand and making Christian music has felt like a complete blessing. It’s felt like God is just holding my hand through it, so I can’t take any credit for it. And I know that’s such a cliché thing to say, but with everything in my being, it feels like he’s holding my hand.

Some of the songs that have been massive successes — like “LIFT MY HANDS,” for example, I was just in the shower, and I heard the whole song in my head. I was like, Okay, God, I’ll go make that song. I just traced it from my brain, which is so abnormal. The typical process is you clock in, attempt to make a good song, and then make seven songs, and none of them are good enough to put out. To have it come out backward, it’s just like…I didn’t write the song.

In 2021, you took a step back from Surfaces just when the band’s commercial profile was on the rise. You’ve said you felt God telling you to slow down, so you did. Did you have any reservations about following this directive?

Thankfully, I had enough experience in my relationship with God that I kind of recognized his voice and this guttural feeling about the decisions I needed to make. My wife and I started to have these weird, guttural feelings towards offers. An offer would come in and it would be $100,000 for a 45-minute set, which seems like a no-brainer. But we would get the offer, and it just didn’t feel right. Then the next one would come in, and it still didn’t feel right, so we just kept saying no. The hardest part was that I was saying no to my friends’ and colleagues’ source of income — that really hurt my feelings because I wanted to be a good team player, but they were all understanding.

It was probably a year or so of saying no to stuff. In this quiet, my wife and I had a baby, and it was cool timing because we didn’t have anything on the books to have to say no to; that felt kind of serendipitous. And in this quiet place, I started writing Christian songs.

I couldn’t foresee any success from it. If anything, moving from a successful pop act to a Christian act would result in more internet flack and less financial gain. For whatever reason, the music resonated with a lot of people.

I see comments from people who are like, “He’s just taking advantage of the Christian system…he’s crafty.” I honestly don’t know what I’m doing; it just happened to work. God gave me the music, he gave me the ideas for social media, and then it all just blew up. If I were to educate someone on what I did, I probably could give them some tips for success, but my learning process was all beyond me.

Surfaces’ sixth studio album, Good Morning, came out in June. You’re credited on the album. How much of a presence in the album-making process did you have and how involved do you intend to be going forward?

For that album, we did a writing camp for about a week, so I was involved in that. What’s interesting is Surfaces was a band and had an album out before I ever joined. I met Colin [Padalecki] on SoundCloud, and we talked about writing a song together, so we did, and it was super well received. Then we were like, let’s just do an album.

In my head I was like, This will be a nice side project, because I had my own project, Forrest. I dropped my album Warm [with alternative hip-hop musician Biskwiq in 2018] and we dropped Surf [as Surfaces in 2017]. Both brands were kind of moving at the same rate. Then, Colin and I did a second album, which had the song “Sunday Best,” which blew up. I put my personal journey on the back burner because I was like, Whoa, maybe this is where I’m supposed to be. So, I put all of that energy toward Surfaces, and then when I felt like taking a step back, I took a step back.

My commitment to Surfaces feels like it’s kind of the same as it initially was. I’m here to contribute wherever I can, but I have taken the hustle out of it. If you want to do a two-week writing camp and keep making albums, I’m certainly down — there’s just a lot of reasons why Forrest Frank feels like it’s where I’m supposed to put my attention.

How does the Forrest. portion of your career differ from Forrest Frank?

I’m a big introspective; I would almost consider myself like a philosopher, and what I’ve come to realize is the Forrest. period was me hiding from my last name because it was an escapism project. It was, “I don’t like my current situation, and I don’t like myself,” so I would escape to what sounded like this technicolor reality on the beach.

With Forrest Frank, it’s just me. I have a son now, and I’m responsible for my last name and continuing the generational torch. And explicitly or implicitly, it’s interesting that the album’s intro is my granddad, and my son is on the album cover. It’s kind of like the passing of the baton, and it feels like the generational spiritual wealth, if you’ll call it that, is paramount.

How did you come to embrace your full name and reach the point where you were ready to pass that baton?

I just had a gut feeling that it was time to just be me and start Forrest Frank. The first song that I released as Forrest Frank was called “Slow Down,” which is kind of interesting.

Surfaces is secular, but it does seem like your faith lyrically influenced some of the music.

100 percent. When I was writing lyrics with Surfaces, it was like, How can I put as many Christian values in this without people knowing? It was almost like talking about the fruit of godliness versus the source; it was everything but the source. So, it’s really relieving to be able to talk about the source.

    Was this always intentional?

I think it goes back to the flow state. Sometimes I would look back and be like, I’m talking about a Christian lifestyle here, and I wasn’t trying. At other times, it was more intentional.

I remember with my Effortless album under Forrest., I prayed for the listener on every song and then turned it to a super low decibel, just so the frequency would be in there. But in the lyrics, I’m just talking about having a good time.

Can you hear your prayers on any of the songs?

I don’t think you could, maybe in an outro where the elements come down, but it’s so low that you probably wouldn’t.

It was a stream of consciousness, like, “Lord, I pray for whoever’s listening that they be freed from the attack of the enemies holding on to them, to break the chains of any generational curses” — just speaking blessings on their life and their family.

You’ve mentioned that performing — particularly as Surfaces — never felt comfortable for you, but that changed when you began performing as Forrest Frank.

In a performance setting, I always wrestled with it because I felt like I was receiving a lot of attention, and that was kind of ending with me. When I was doing more pop-leaning music, I could attempt to give glory to God, but it wasn’t the full meat and potatoes; it was more like breadcrumbs because the music itself wasn’t pure. But now it’s 100 percent to God, and I can sense from the crowd that it’s the same for them as it is for me. I’ll look out at the crowd, and everyone has their eyes closed and hands raised, and it’s like, Oh, this is so cool. I get to be this vessel to send glory straight to God, and that makes me feel alive and gets me buzzing.

The response to your music as Forrest Frank has challenged the notion that young people won’t listen to or connect with faith-based music. What do you make of that?

There are a couple of things to it. When I was growing up, I didn’t necessarily have cool Christian music to listen to. If I was going to the gym or if I was at the beach, it seemed like there weren’t really any Christian songs that would fit those facets of life, but there was great Christian music within the church and for worship. That actually kind of broke my heart; I would cry about it, and I’m not the most emotional guy.

So, I aspired to make Christian music that I think is cool. Not everyone’s going to like it, but I think it does serve a role in the sense of it being music that kids think is cool and want to have as their baseball walk up song when they go up to the plate and listen to when they hang out with their friends.

The other part is, I think every genre is set in its ways, and when you treat it as your job, you start to fit in with the genre and listen to what the industry’s saying. For my song “NO LONGER BOUND,” the radio stations were like “We can’t put this on the radio because the kick hits too hard, you need to change that.” I was like, “Oh, then just don’t put it on the radio.” I don’t care; I’m just making it the way that I love it. I think that authenticity is what kids resonate with.

Would you say that part of the reason why people are gravitating towards Christian music, even if they don’t identify as religious, is because of the consistency, purity and authenticity of its messaging? We live in such a trend- and algorithm-based era, but Christian music is rooted in sentiments that transcend fleeting cultural shifts.

This generation is waking up to a lot of things. There’s a sort of a distrust — or maybe not a distrust, but a questioning happening. There’s a second-guessing to almost everything now because it seems like corporations have taken over the airwaves.

For me, for example, I used to have a whole laundry list of health complications, and when I would go to a doctor, he would say, “You have this, take this medication for it.” I’d still have the issues, but then I’d have a medication overriding it and the side effects from it, without a real solution.

Then, I finally went to a naturopathic doctor who was like, “You’re gluten intolerant. You’re allergic to corn, and you’re eating this all the time. Take these foods out of your diet and switch to organic and whole foods.” I did, and all of my symptoms went away.

I think more people are doing this style of questioning because they’re like, man, the system’s just trying to sell us this and sell us that. And I think kids are waking up to the fact that what you put in comes out; what you listen to and what you consume matters.

I think people often underestimate the influence of music on how they think and perceive the world. Sonic frequencies have been used for therapy and healing, so why wouldn’t the music we listen to have an effect on us?

100 percent. And I always try to create the strongest chorus or hook because I want it to be an addictive mantra of truth and blessing in your head. So on “GOOD DAY,” it’s like “I’m about to have a good day,” you’re speaking that over yourself.

When you think about the lyrics of some very popular songs, you would hate if what’s in the lyrics actually happened to you or if you witnessed it. Some of the music that’s generally on in a grocery store or on the radio…if you visually saw what they were talking about, it would be rated R. There’s no way you would let your kids watch that, and you probably wouldn’t watch that.

When CHILD OF GOD went #1 on iTunes’ All Genres chart, you said you felt “a cultural shift taking place.” What do you think is driving it?

We’ll be able to tell in a couple of years, but there certainly may be a revival happening in our country. A lot of people throw that word around, but I got to go to an event called Unite[US] with my friend JP. They go around to different college campuses, and they completely fill up their basketball arenas with kids [to gather and be baptized]. I think maybe 2,000 kids that night gave their life to Jesus. And it made me think back, because I gave my life to Jesus in college, and it’s just so real.

I think maybe there was a wave of fruition for a couple years or decades where people could choose a lifestyle rooted in sin and have success, but it’s not working now. Well… it’s always going to work, and there’s always going to be some form of success, but still, I think there might be a revival happening. I’m excited to see what happens with that.

Is there anything you’d say specifically to the listeners who found you through TikTok or another platform and don’t necessarily identify as religious, but have come across your music and are curious about the faith and Christian music?

My main message is that Jesus changed my life, and every song is a reflection of that testimony. He saved my life.

If you haven’t considered Jesus, then I would consider Jesus, ’cause that’s really all I have to offer — that’s all my music has to offer.

  • 20. Late Night Hoops on Tuesday as Irish Host Georgia Tech – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Fighting Irish (9-10, 3-5) men’s basketball team looks to make it two wins in a row when they return home to complete the two-game series with Georgia Tech (9-11, 3-6). They’ll also have revenge in the back of their minds, trying to avenge a 75-86 loss in Atlanta on NYE. The Irish and Yellow Jackets will tip off at 9 p.m. ET on ACC Network.

Tuesday night also marks the program’s Coaches vs Cancer Game with the staff raising awareness in conjunction with Suits and Sneakers Week.

    ALWAYS CLOSE

The first matchup was a tale of two halves and it also was a game that didn’t feature Markus Burton. The Irish found themselves in a 19-point halftime deficit after a poor shooting start; however, the Irish fought back in the second half and cut it to a one-possession game with just under six minutes left. The Irish ultimately shot 60.0 percent in the second half, scoring 51 points. Tae Davis tied his career high in points with 27, with 22 being scored in the second half.

For whatever reason, these two teams always play close and it’s always a battle. Twenty-one of the last 24 games between these two have been decided by single digits. Five of those games have gone to overtime. Of those 21 games that have been decided by single digits, the average margin of victory has been 4.9.

ND leads the overall series 18-14 with an impressive 12-2 mark at home.

    BURTON EMPHATICALLY BACK

After 39 days away rehabbing his knee injury, Burton has returned and amplified the ND offense. If you discount the Rutgers game since Burton got injured in the first four minutes, the sophomore has recorded 20+ points in seven of his last eight games.

When you look at January-only scoring averages amongst ACC players, Burton ranks second, trailing only Duke’s Cooper Flagg (25.0). Burton is averaging 21.7 ppg in January, which coincides with his ACC scoring average.

Markus Burton has produced four straight games with 20+ points and if he gets to five, he’ll be the first Irish player to achieve said feat since Ben Hansbrough in February of 2011.

The sophomore has recorded incredible stretches during this four-game stint. He scored the first nine points at Virginia before finishing with a team best 21 in the win – tying his season high of four made threes. Prior, Burton dropped a first-half career high 22 points at Syracuse, finishing with 28.

We’ll end on this note … even despite that 2-point Rutgers game dragging down his scoring average, Burton is still averaging 19.9 ppg on the year.

    CHASING ACHIEVEMENTS

Burton is currently averaging 19.9 ppg and 3.3 apg. If he finishes the season at 20.0+ ppg and 3.0+ apg, he’ll become the first Irish player ever to do so. When we broaden the scope, he would become just the 15th ACC player to do so since 1996.

However, Burton isn’t the only one who can cement their name in the Irish record books this season. Grad transfer Matt Allocco owns a 3.50 assist-to-turnover ratio. The highest A/TO ratio in program history for a season was 3.16 by Martin Inglesby back in 2000-01.

Allocco is also converting 47.9 percent from deep which would ranks second all-time in program history for a season. The top two spots both belong to Joe Fredrick who shot 47.2 percent in 1989-90 and 52.1 percent in 1988-89.

    THREE BALL HEATING UP

The three ball is starting to flow for the Fighting Irish. In ACC play, Notre Dame is converting 41.0 percent from beyond the arc, which leads all league schools.

Overall on the year, the Irish have drained 37.6 percent from deep which ranks 31st in the country.

Twice over the past four games, the Irish have connected on double-digit treys. They sunk 14 at Duke (which tied their season high) and 12 in the win at Virginia.

    PROGRAM FIRST IN CHARLOTTESVILLE

There’s not a better way to correct a certain ACC road narrative then by claiming a road victory in a building you’ve never won in. The Irish did just that this past Saturday with a 74-59 victory at Virginia. Coach Shrewsberry has now defeated Virginia twice in three matchups.

The Irish were led by Markus Burton with 21 points, shooting 50% on the night and 4-6 from behind the arc. Tae Davis finished with 16 points and six rebounds.

Notre Dame shot 48% on the game and an impressive 52% from three, knocking down 12 from deep. The Irish held the Cavaliers to 40% from the floor as they outrebounded Virginia 39-27.

    THE TAE-KOVER

Tae Davis has emerged as one of the top talents in the ACC and should be a candidate for Most Improved.

Tae is averaging a career best 16.4 ppg, up from last year’s 9.2 ppg. His scoring average ranks 10th amongst ACC players.

The Indy native is also shooting a career best 50.5 percent, up from last year’s 48.4. In ACC play, Tae’s scoring average is slightly higher at 17.3 ppg.

Tae is ultimately riding a career best 14 straight games in double figures. Where is he getting it done at? Well, the junior has been highly proficient around the rim where he’s 70-of-104 (.673). He’s also improved from the free-throw line over the course of the season. He’s 22 for his last 27, raising his FT% to a career best 76.7 percent.

    EVOLVING

When Burton was recovering, other Irish had to step up and evolve and we saw it unfold.  We’ve already mentioned how Tae Davis is posting career numbers, but so is Braeden Shrewsberry.

The sophomore guard is averaging 14.7 ppg, up from last year’s 10.2. He’s shooting 43.5 percent, which is up from last year’s 39.8.

    • He’s connecting on 2.8 threes per game this season, with a .371 clip from beyond the arc. Shrewsberry’s sweet spot has been the corner three where he’s 14-31 (.452), which is 9.7 percent above the D1 average. Shrewsberry boasts higher three ball numbers in ACC play where he ranks third in 3pt FG% (.431) and second in threes/game (3.1).

However, it’s important to point out that he’s added to his overall arsenal with a dangerous floater that keeps defenders guessing. He’s shooting 47.1 percent from midrange twos and 48.6 percent from the paint. He’s 53.9 percent overall from two-point range.

    VET LEADER

When Coach Shrews added grad transfer Matt Allocco to the roster he got two things – a talented guard with NCAA Tournament experience and a leader by every definition of the word. Coach Shrews hoped that his young core of players would pick up those characteristics and then be leaders to the next group coming in.

This season, Allocco is averaging 10.1 ppg on 46.7 percent shooting. He’s draining a career best 47.9 percent from three, which would ranks as the second highest for a season in program history.

As previously mentioned, Allocco is also on pace for the highest A/TO ratio in program history at 3.50.

Allocco also leads the team in defensive rebounds per game at 4.3 and leads in +/- at +94 on the year. Lastly, the Ohio native is averaging 1.5 steals in ACC play which ranks ninth.

    NOTRE NOTABLES

    • With 13 points in the win over BC on Jan. 13, Matt Allocco officially crossed over the 1,000 career point milestone. He currently sits at 1,027.
    • Allocco boasts a true shooting percentage of 70.8 over the last five games, which according to CBB Analytics ranks in the 99th percentile.
    • Kebba entered the year with just four double-digit scoring performances to his name. He’s posted three in ACC play including his first career double-double at NC State.
    • Speaking of Kebba, the junior is averaging 2.9 offensive rebounds/game in ACC play, which ranks fourth in the league.
    • Braeden is comfortable playing at home where he averages 15.8 ppg on 48.0 percent shooting.
    • Burton is averaging 2.2 made threes per game in ACC play which ranks eighth in  the league.
    • Yes Sir! – The freshman guard impressed at #4 Duke, recording his first double-digit scoring performance with 11 points on 4-7 shooting, plus 2-4 from three.
    • Notre Dame continues to raise its KenPom Offense Adj. Efficiency. Over the last several games, it has risen from 56th to 40th with a rating of 116.6. Notre Dame’s overall KenPom rating sits at No. 76.

  • Bonnies Host Dayton Tuesday Night in Reilly Center

    ST. BONAVENTURE (15-6, 3-5 A-10) vs. DAYTON (14-6, 4-3 A-10)

    Tuesday, Jan. 28 – 8:00 p.m.

    Reilly Center

    TV: YES Network / ESPN+

Radio: Bonnies Online Network / 100.1 FM The Hero

    OPENING TIP

The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team returns home to the Reilly Center to face off against Dayton on Tuesday night. The Bonnies are seeking to bounce back from a three-game losing skid against a trio of the A-10’s front-runners in VCU, George Mason and Duquesne while welcoming in a Dayton squad that responded from a three-game skid of its own earlier this month with wins in their last three.

    STARTING FIVE

    • St. Bonaventure is looking to snap what is just its second three-game losing skid in Atlantic 10 play since 2020.
    • Bonnies head coach Mark Schmidt enters Tuesday’s game with 399 career victories as a

Division I head coach. He has scored 317 of those wins leading Bona’s program.
    • Senior Chance Moore returned to the Bonnies lineup Friday night at VCU and responded with a game-high 21 points along with eight rebounds. Moore played all but one minute of action after missing the game last Tuesday vs. George Mason due to a toe injury suffered Jan. 18 at Duquesne.
    • Fifth-year captain Noel Brown had his second double-double in the last three games with 10 points and 10 rebounds Friday night. Prior to the game at Duquesne, Brown had never recorded double-digit rebounds in a game.
    • Bona is trying to snap a rare two-game losing skid in A-10 play at home. The Bonnies are 60-19 at home in Atlantic 10 play since 2015-16.

    BROADCAST COVERAGE
Tuesday’s game will be the fifth of five Bonnies men’s games broadcast live on YES Network this season. St. Bonaventure Athletics and YES announced a partnership earlier this fall to air both men’s and women’s games on the network in 2024-25. The YES broadcasts will also be streamed on The Gotham Sports App. YES has ranked as the most-watched regional sports network in the country in 18 of the last 21 years and owns the exclusive regional media rights of the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Nets. Click here to read more about the agreement.

All Bonnies basketball games broadcast on YES will also still stream through ESPN+ as well for fans with a subscription to that service.

Fans can also listen to the audio broadcast as always for free anywhere online through the Bonnies Online Network or locally on terrestrial radio at 100.1 FM The Hero.

    TRENDING NUMBERS

1:13 – Melvin Council Jr. has played all but 1:13 in Bona’s last eight games.

2 – Noel Brown has two double-doubles in the past three games after not recording one in his first 119 career games.

16 – Duane Thompson posted his first career double-figure scoring effort vs. George Mason with 16 points off the bench. That is more than the Bonnies have scored as a team off the bench in all but three games this year.

43 – Melvin Council Jr. has scored double figures 43 of 54 career D-I games.

75-14 – The Bonnies fell to 75-14 when leading at the half since the start of the 2019-20 season with Friday’s loss at VCU.

    ABOUT DAYTON

    • Dayton was picked to finish second in the A-10 preseason poll, receiving six first-place votes to slot behind preseason favorite VCU.
    • Senior forward Nate Santos was named to the A-10’s preseason first team. Santos finished last year as the second leading scorer (11.7) and rebounder (6.3) for Dayton. He was also fourth in the A-10 in three-point shooting. This season, Santos paces the squad at 14.6 ppg while Enoch Cheeks checks in at 13.1 ppg.
    • Dayton has two ranked wins on the season, scoring impressive non-conference triumphs over then-No. 2 UConn and then-No. 6 Marquette.
    • Dayton comes into the game 22th in the nation in assist/turnover ratio (1.57). Malachi Smith is the A-10’s leader in assists at six per game.
    • Dayton is second in the A-10 in field goal percentage at over 47 percent and first in 3-point field goal percentage at better than 36 percent.

    SERIES HISTORY
This marks the 41st meeting all-time between the Bonnies and Flyers with Dayton owning a 29-11advantage.

In the last meeting at the Reilly Center back in February 2023, St. Bonaventure snapped what was a seven-game losing streak vs. Dayton dating to 2016 which had been far and away the longest skid for the Bonnies vs. an A-10 opponent in recent memory.

Last year, the Bonnies lost their fifth in a row at UD Arena against a nationally-ranked Flyers squad. The Bonnies have not won in Dayton against the Flyers since 2016, but in years since, though, the Bonnies have picked up two big wins otherwise in Dayton: St. Bonaventure defeated VCU in the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship Game at UD Arena and also won at the venue in 2018, knocking off UCLA in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament that year.

The Bonnies are gearing up to host the Dayton Flyers in a highly anticipated matchup this Tuesday night at the Reilly Center. With both teams vying for a crucial conference win, fans can expect an intense and electrifying game.

The Bonnies are coming off a tough loss against VCU and will be looking to bounce back with a strong performance on their home court. Led by standout players like Kyle Lofton and Osun Osunniyi, St. Bonaventure has shown they have the talent and resilience to compete with some of the best teams in the conference.

On the other hand, the Dayton Flyers have been on a hot streak, winning their last three games in a row. Led by standout guard Jalen Crutcher, Dayton will be a tough opponent for the Bonnies to face. With both teams hungry for a win, this matchup is sure to be a thrilling and competitive game.

So mark your calendars and make sure to tune in as the Bonnies take on Dayton this Tuesday night at the Reilly Center. It’s bound to be a game you won’t want to miss!

  • ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host Ryan Seacrest blamed for terrible blunder that almost cost a player $50,000

The host made a amajor blunder in the bonus round with the timer running out on the contestant.

Ryan Seacrest won over a number of fans on “Wheel of Fortune” despite initial doubts about his ability to replace Pat Sajak. But despite that, he has landed in hot water over some blunders and the way he carries himself too. Soon after his debut, Seacrest came under fire for nearly costing a contestant $50,000 due to a silly goof-up.

After the airing of the December 18 episode of Wheel Of Fortune, Seacrest faced backlash on social media for seemingly failing to acknowledge a player’s correct bonus puzzle solve. As viewers know, contestants are on the clock to solve the final puzzle and if they run out of time, they lose out on the prize hidden in the golden envelope.

In the episode, the contestant Noel Ballacco, cruised through the games racking up prizes and more than $13,000 in cash along the way. She made it all the way to the bonus round where she had the chance of winning up to a hundred thousand dollars more.

With her lover on the stage, she proceeded to spin the wheel and collect the bonus envelope. For the final bonus puzzle, Ballaco chose the category “People” which is relatively easier than some other categories. In addition to the standard letters, “RSTLNE”, she chose “G” and “L” as her first consonants. Despite “L” being standard, Seacrest failed to spot the mistake. The player corrected it herself and chose the other letters, “M,” I,” and “C.” Finally, the board read, “GRE_T  _I_S,” for her to solve.

Screenshot showing the puzzle (Image source: YouTube/Wheel Of Fortune)

When the ten-second timer started off, Ballanco’s first guess was “GREAT KIDS”. As it turned out, it was the correct answer and she had astonishingly solved the puzzle in a couple of seconds. While Vanna White and everyone else realized it, Seacrest was rather slow in registering the answer. In what seemed like an overreaction, Seacrest jumped the gun and revealed the contents of the golden envelope even before the camera cut to him. He just kept yelling “Yes, yes yes,” putting his hands over his mouth imitating the player. He then went on to engage in an exaggerated celebration while congratulating Ballacco on winning $63,100.

While everything went on smoothly, despite the error, fans took to social media to blast the host for the mistake. In the comments section of the YouTube video, one viewer @AustinTheSuperiorVyonder2021 wrote, “I definitely heard an L before the M. How did the L not get counted? Because of the original package. But seriously, Ryan, please remind the contestant in the bonus round that the letter that’s part of the original package they accidentally call is part of the original package next time if they do accidentally call the letter.”

Further, on the show’s unofficial Reddit forum, one user wrote, “Did anyone else catch she said the correct answer, but Ryan didn’t call it out as being correct at first? She had to say it a second time before it was acknowledged. I even backtracked my TV to make sure I heard it right the first time around.”

Several users agreed saying that it was a big misfire from the young new host. “When Vanna started nodding but Ryan didn’t say anything I started thinking she messed up. He’s also been a little delayed from Vanna obviously indicating they’re correct but never to the point that they have to say it again,” @Cmchk added.

On YouTube, people were quick to point out the same. “She said “Great Kids” in the first guess. How did the bonus round not end there?” @CodyFairlessLee asked.

In a shocking turn of events on the set of ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ host Ryan Seacrest has come under fire for a terrible blunder that almost cost a player $50,000.

During a recent episode of the popular game show, Seacrest mispronounced a key word in one of the puzzles, leading to confusion among the contestants. The error caused the player in the lead to lose their turn, ultimately costing them a shot at winning the $50,000 grand prize.

Viewers were quick to point out Seacrest’s mistake on social media, with many calling for the host to be held accountable for the blunder. Some even went so far as to suggest that Seacrest should be fired from his hosting duties on the show.

Despite the controversy, Seacrest has issued a public apology to the contestant who was affected by his error, and has vowed to make it right by offering them a chance to compete in a future episode for a chance to win the $50,000 prize.

Only time will tell if Seacrest’s apology will be enough to quell the backlash from fans of ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ but one thing is for certain: this blunder will go down in game show history as one of the most costly mistakes ever made on television.

  • Lightning host Chicago Blackhawks at Amalie Arena

After a brutal schedule of games in the month of January, the Lightning are back home at Amalie Arena for the foreseeable future ahead of the 4 Nations break. They’ll open their five-game homestand with a matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks who they faced just last week.

The Lightning won last Friday’s game in Chicago 4-3 in overtime. Jake Guentzel and Nikita Kucherov both scored, with Kucherov scoring the overtime winner on a 4-on-3 power play.

Right now the Lightning have the third best goal differential and are a Top 10 team in every major statistical category. When you look at the numbers in the first 48 games of the season, they should probably be higher in the standings than what they’re showing. Now with the schedule letting up a bit, they have a chance to start grabbing points at home.

“The problem is we’re struggling to score now,” said Lightning coach Jon Cooper. “And so I think anybody who watched Detroit game, saw that we had ample opportunity to score and we couldn’t do it. And even the Chicago game before that, it was tooth and nail.”

“The goal scoring at times in the season does dry up, but you just have to continue to stick to your process, and our process has been excellent.”

The Lightning recalled defenseman Declan Carlile and forward Gage Goncalves from Syracuse on Monday after it was announced that defenseman Emil Lilleberg would be suspended for two games for interference against Detroit’s J.T. Compher.

Noteworthy: Nikita Kucherov took a slight tumble during morning skate on Tuesday. Jon Cooper confirmed in his pregame availability that Kucherov was “fine”.

Here’s a look at the lines from Tuesday’s Morning Skate:

    Forwards
Jake Guentzel – Brayden Point – Nikita Kucherov
Brandon Hagel – Anthony Cirelli – Conor Geekie
Zemgus Girgensons – Nick Paul – Gage Goncalves
Mitchell Chaffee – Luke Glendening – Mikey Eyssimont

    Defensemen
    Victor Hedman – Darren Raddysh
    Ryan McDonagh – Erik Cernak
    Declan Carlile – Nick Perbix

  • ‘Hot Ones’ Host Sean Evans Teases Oscar Plans

As the host of the pop culture phenomenon Hot Ones, Sean Evans is used to sitting across from A-list stars while making them sweat with spicy wings and a side of interview questions. But this week in Park City, Evans found himself in relatively new territory by attending his first Sundance Film Festival, walking red carpets and facing off with journalists.

“I like your side a little bit better, there’s more control. I’m a little bit on my heels with you, but I’m ready,” said Evans with that now-familiar smile as he spent a few minutes with The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the starry fundraiser Celebrating Sundance Institute at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley on Friday night.

Evans, hot on the heels of a deal to acquire his show’s production company, First We Feast, from Buzzfeed along with a team of investors that includes fellow YouTube stars Rhett and Link (who are also here in Park City), was loving what he’d experienced at Sundance so far. “It’s been a lot of fun,” he said. “It’s a beautiful city, an amazing environment. It’s cool to see the way that people rally around film here, and I’m just kind of soaking it all in.”

Like much of his life, the trip was “a little business, a little pleasure,” a benefit of internet stardom. “The show gives me all these unique experiences and I get to travel to all these cool spots and have unique access to all of these things,” he explained. “I never take any of that for granted.”

He’s particularly looking forward to Oscar weekend and he revealed to THR that he’s got big things planned. “I’m going to the Oscars,” he confirmed. “I actually just got fitted for the tux. We’ll see what we can do because of the situation [with the wildfires] in Los Angeles. They’ve had to move some things around, but hopefully we’re going to do some fun sit down interviews with some people. I’m looking forward to it.”

Evans didn’t reveal if it’s a formal partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences or if he’ll be filming away from the red carpet that day, but THR has reached out for additional intel.

In the meantime, Evans will continue to soak up his time at Sundance. And he seems to have been making the most of it. He was spotted at TAO Park City on Saturday night when Jennifer Lopez took to the stage for a surprise 10-minute performance on what turned out to be a snowy, cold night in Park City with temperatures in the low teens. He may host Hot Ones but Evans is just as “well-versed” in the cold.

“I grew up in Chicago,” said Evans, a graduate of University of Illinois. “So my whole thing is if you’re too hot, that’s uncomfortable. If you’re too cold, that’s painful. That’s miserable. I’d rather be too hot than too cold.”

Hot Ones drops a new episode every Thursday morning on YouTube.

Get ready for some spicy Oscar coverage because Sean Evans, the host of the popular YouTube show “Hot Ones,” is teasing his plans for the upcoming Academy Awards. Known for his love of all things hot and spicy, Evans has hinted that he will be bringing the heat to the red carpet with his signature brand of fiery interviews.

Fans of “Hot Ones” know that Evans is no stranger to putting celebrities in the hot seat with his lineup of increasingly spicy chicken wings. From Scarlett Johansson to Gordon Ramsay, Evans has grilled some of the biggest names in Hollywood with his burning questions and even hotter sauces.

Now, it looks like Evans is setting his sights on the Oscars, promising to bring the heat to the star-studded event. Whether he’ll be conducting interviews on the red carpet or hosting a special episode of “Hot Ones” featuring Oscar nominees, one thing is for sure – things are about to get spicy.

So, be sure to tune in to see what Sean Evans has in store for the Oscars. Who knows, maybe we’ll see some A-listers sweating it out over a plate of chicken wings. One thing’s for certain – it’s going to be one hot night at the Oscars.

  • Donald Trump’s soaring approval rating leaves CNN host panicking

US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has hit a record high only days after being sworn into office.

On Friday, CNN Senior Political Data Reporter Harry Enten stated that Americans are already “liking what they’re seeing” from Trump.

A poll by Reuters/Ipsos illustrated that Trump ended his first week as president with his highest approval rating ever.

Eight years ago, the newly elected president had a negative rating of three points, a far cry from his rating now.

Enten commented the rating is “up nine points”, before noting that 47 per cent of Americans approve of Trump compared to 41 per cent who do not.

“To borrow a Donald Trump phrase, this is big league,” Enten said.

“This is a sign that the American people – at least initially – like what they’re seeing. More Americans approve of Donald Trump’s job than disapprove.”

As Donald Trump’s approval rating continues to climb, CNN host Chris Cuomo is left in a state of panic. Despite the network’s constant attacks on the former president, Trump’s popularity among Americans is reaching new heights.

Cuomo, known for his vocal criticism of Trump, has been struggling to come to terms with the fact that the American people are rallying behind the 45th president once again. The latest polls show that Trump’s approval rating has surged to over 50%, a stunning turnaround from his time in office.

As the CNN host watches Trump’s approval soar, he is left scrambling for ways to discredit the former president and his policies. However, with more and more Americans expressing their support for Trump, Cuomo’s efforts seem to be falling flat.

In a desperate attempt to regain control of the narrative, Cuomo has taken to the airwaves to denounce Trump and his supporters. But as the numbers continue to rise in Trump’s favor, it seems that the CNN host’s panic is only intensifying.

The American people have spoken, and they are standing behind Donald Trump. And as Cuomo watches his ratings plummet while Trump’s approval soars, it’s clear that the former president is once again dominating the political landscape.
