The 43-year-old has welcomed Taraji P. Henson, Eva Longoria, Keke Palmer, and Michelle Buteau to the desk in recent weeks. These actresses have delighted fans with their quick wit and magnetic charisma.

Today fans aren’t the only ones excited to see Scarlett join the ranks of guest anchors; the mother of two revealed to Jenna that she had now fulfilled a lifelong dream of being a morning show host.

She added that as a child, she would pretend to be a reporter in the mirror, addressing an invisible audience. She would ask, “Good morning, everyone, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend. What’s happening in your neck of the woods? All of that stuff.”

  • Scarlett Johansson Guns For Permanent ‘Today With Jenna & Friends’ Post On Second Day As Guest Host: “I Love This Job”

Is the search for Jenna Bush Hager’s new co-host already over? Scarlett Johansson seems to hope so.

The actress is killing it as co-host on Today With Jenna & Friends this week. Johansson returned to the daily broadcast Wednesday in good spirits, announcing that she had “the best time” on her first day as a morning talk show host Tuesday (Jan. 21).

“I went to bed last night and I was like, buzzing,” she told Bush Hager. “I was so excited, I like prepared everything for today… I love this job!”

Bush Hager said that she was “delighted” to have Johansson on the show. She spent most of the broadcast gushing over her new co-host, especially when they brought back some of the most popular segments Bush Hager used to do with Hoda Kotb when she was still on the show.

At one point on the episode, Bush Hager even announced that they should just change the show’s name to Today With Jenna & Scarlett.

“Now that you’re a morning television host, I mean, Jenna & Scarlett sounds good. We can just change it,” she said.

“I agree, let’s make it happen!” Johansson giddily responded.

It’s just Johansson’s second day on the job, but it looks like she’s made quite the mark on Bush Hager and NBC. By the end of Wednesday’s episode, Bush Hager announced that she needed a sharpie to scratch out “& Friends” from the show’s title.

Johansson will be guest hosting for the rest of the week. In fact, Thursday’s broadcast will be a family affair as Johansson and Bush Hager will be joined on the show by both of their twin siblings. Today has yet to announce who will be the next guest host to join Bush Hager once Johansson leaves.

While it’s been fun to see Bush Hager co-host with the likes of Keke Palmer and Eva Longoria, the Today host is still searching for a permanent co-host to replace Kotb, her partner in crime, who recently retired from daytime television. But Johansson certainly brings a sunny attitude and quick wit that matches Bush Hager’s hosting style. Could she be the one?

It might come down to a matter of money. At one point on today’s show, Johansson’s husband, Saturday Night Live cast member Colin Jost, joined the duo for a playful debate during which Bush Hager had to rule in favor of Jost. “Scarlett, please do the show with me if we can round up a lot of money,” she pleaded to Johansson after choosing her husband over her.

Today With Jenna & Scarlett certainly does have a nice ring to it. Fingers crossed this works out for Bush Hager!

Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Actress Scarlett Johansson is wasting no time in making her mark as a guest host on “Today with Jenna & Friends.” Just one day into her guest hosting duties, the Hollywood star is already gunning for a permanent spot on the popular morning show.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Johansson expressed her excitement about her new role on the show. “I am absolutely loving every minute of being a guest host on ‘Today with Jenna & Friends,’” she gushed. “The energy on set is electric, and I feel right at home chatting with Jenna and the rest of the crew.”

Johansson went on to reveal that she is hoping to turn her guest hosting gig into a permanent position. “I would love nothing more than to be a regular fixture on this show,” she said. “I love talking to the guests, sharing stories, and bringing a little bit of Hollywood glamour to morning television.”

Fans of the show have already taken to social media to express their support for Johansson as a potential permanent host. Many are praising her natural charm, wit, and charisma, and are eager to see more of her on their screens.

As Johansson continues to impress viewers and producers alike, it seems like she may just get her wish of becoming a permanent host on “Today with Jenna & Friends.” Stay tuned to see if Scarlett Johansson lands the job of her dreams!

  • Without Gregg Popovich, Victor Wembanyama plays role of Spurs dinner host in Paris

PARIS — If Gregg Popovich were here, he would take the San Antonio Spurs to a fancy restaurant.

Maybe to a place like the Michelin star establishment along the Champs-Élysées, L’atelier de Joël Robuchon Etoile, where Éric Bouchenoire, one of the most famous chefs in the world, dazzles patrons with foie gras, lamb chop, shellfish, caviar (of course) and a delectable passion fruit dessert.

And there would be wine, bottles and bottles of wine, bused to tables for as long as the Spurs were in their plush, cushy chairs, and probably for long after they get up and start to move around. The only question would be whether Pop chooses the wine himself or gives way to the sommelier to suggest which French red goes best with the choice meats and fish being served.

Popovich is not with the Spurs this week as part of the NBA Global Games series in Paris, which will feature two Spurs games against the Indiana Pacers. Popovich remains away from the team recovering from a stroke suffered in early November.

So Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs’ French sensation, took the team to dinner Monday night in Pop’s stead.

“We talked about it — Pop had a schedule here, and he would have done something like that too,” Wembanyama said. “Doing that on the first day was important for me to welcome (teammates) and to show them, because I know if I went to any of these guys’ country or city, I would have loved to find out about about where they come from to learn to know them better because they’re they’re all good human beings. So really, it’s a real chance to share these moments together.”

Spurs acting head coach Mitch Johnson was preparing to organize a team dinner like the “break bread” meals Popovich is known for, but Wembanyama asked if he could set up a dinner at L’atelier de Joël Robuchon Etoile for just the players. Wembanyama and one of his primary corporate sponsors, Louis Vuitton, organized the evening, which included a trip to the Vuitton store on the Champs-Élysées.

The menu included lamb chop and quail, shellfish and caviar, and the passion fruit dessert. There was, however, no wine for the table. Wemby just turned 21 on Jan. 4, treats his body as though it’s the La Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and is not a wine connoisseur like his legendary coach.

“I think that’s something Pop may have had us do if he were there,” Spurs guard Tre Jones told The Athletic. “I think that was really the only difference (between this dinner from Wemby and the usual Pop dinners). The food was definitely French, but it was amazing, and then just the hospitality Victor showed, only being 21, obviously he’s very mature beyond his years, but the hospitality and also the appreciation he showed us just for being there with him, he was so thankful for us.

“He showed us a great time — that was definitely one of the best meals I’ve ever had.”

Jones, 25, from Apple Valley, Minn., had never been to Paris before this week — nor had many of his younger teammates. So the names of the dishes, and of the restaurant, may have been hard for Jones (and people in his shoes) to pronounce or remember. The experience, though, he will take with him forever. Paris tends to do that to the people..

Perhaps a scene or two from the dinner may have been a little fuzzy if Popovich were there to do the ordering (Jones said he is just getting into wine but has a lot to learn). It was not lost on Jones while enjoying his time with Wembanyama and company that it was the kind of atmosphere and setting Popovich would have cultivated and thoroughly enjoyed.

Spurs chief executive RC Buford said Tuesday that Popovich was continuing to improve and the team expects that he’ll return, but on Wednesday Buford added that there was no way to know when that might be because of his ongoing recovery. Jones said Popovich has insisted since he’s been gone that “break bread” continue.

In Paris, Wemby, obviously, was eager to oblige.

“That’s definitely something that Pop has made sure we continue to do as we’re in these cities and we’re on these long road trips and things like that,” Jones said. “He makes sure that we still have team dinner set up at the restaurants that he loved to go to or would want to be going to if he was on the road with us. And so he’s making sure that we’re continuing that tradition and making sure that we’re still, no matter if we win or lose or what it is, that we’re still going to the restaurants together and enjoying those team dinners.

“It’s part of the Spurs culture, and it’s something that we’re just going to have to continue on no matter how long he’s away from us.”

The Spurs have ties to France that date to at least 2000, when Buford first began scouting Tony Parker, the future Hall of Famer San Antonio made the 28th pick of the first round in 2001. But make no mistake, San Antonio was included in the NBA’s Global Games series in Paris this year, and the week was extended to include two regular-season games for the first time, because of the franchise’s current superstar.

Wembanyama was born and raised in Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt, a western Paris suburb, and has made it a focus this week to introduce his teammates to Parisian culture and the life he led before he became the NBA Rookie of the Year and likely next face of the league.

“I think that was really cool, the dinner that we had with just the guys — he just wants us to be comfortable,” said Chris Paul, the Spurs’ elder statesman at age 39 in his 20th season. “We were riding here to practice and Vic was just talking about how beautiful it was. He’s just wise beyond his years. Like he’s very smart. He knows the history of everything. We were talking about when the Louvre was built and why it was built. And he’s talking about all these different things, and probably because I’m older I appreciate it.”

Upon arriving in Paris on Monday, the Spurs, at Wembanyama’s request, practiced at Nanterre 92’s gym, where he first turned pro in France at age 15. On Tuesday, teammates, Johnson, Buford and general manager Brian Wright joined Wembanyama in unveiling two new outdoor basketball courts just four minutes from the house he grew up in and where his parents still live. Wembanyama said he used to go sled riding on the property where the courts were built.

The project, the idea of which came from Wembanyama, was funded mostly by the Spurs’ charitable foundation and was pulled together over the last several months.

“He said to me when we were taking pictures (Tuesday), I never dreamed that I would have my family, my friends and my teammates all together,” Buford said. “He is doing a great job of welcoming our program to his home.”

In a surprising turn of events, the San Antonio Spurs found themselves without their legendary head coach Gregg Popovich during their recent trip to Paris. However, they didn’t miss a beat thanks to the young and talented Victor Wembanyama stepping up to the plate.

Wembanyama, the 7-foot-2 French center who was recently drafted by the Spurs, took it upon himself to play the role of dinner host for his teammates in the City of Light. Known for his maturity and leadership on and off the court, Wembanyama organized a team dinner at a popular Parisian restaurant, making sure everyone felt welcome and comfortable in the absence of Popovich.

Teammates were impressed by Wembanyama’s ability to step into a leadership role at such a young age, showcasing his natural charisma and team-first mentality. His efforts to bring the team together off the court only solidified his status as a rising star in the NBA.

While Popovich’s absence was certainly felt, Wembanyama’s performance as the Spurs’ dinner host proved that the team is in good hands both on and off the court. With his combination of skill, leadership, and poise, it’s clear that Wembanyama is destined for great things in the NBA.

  • NHL On Tap: Kopitar closing in on milestones when Kings host Panthers

Florida Panthers at Los Angeles Kings (10 p.m. ET; MAX truTV, TNT, SN360, TVAS)

The Panthers (28-17-3) and Kings (25-14-5) meet for the first of two games this season with Florida captain Aleksander Barkov looking to extend a nine-game point streak (13 points; three goals, 10 assists) against Los Angeles dating back to Feb. 23, 2019. Forward Adrian Kempe has scored in three straight, including a goal in a 5-1 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday that ended the Kings’ nine-game home winning streak. Kings captain Anze Kopitar (1,254 points; 431 goals, 823 assists in 1,417 games) needs a goal to pass Dave Taylor for third place in Los Angeles history. Kopitar has 666 points (217 goals, 449 assists) in 705 home games and is three points shy of tying Luc Robitaille (669 points; 322 goals, 347 assists in 540 games) for second-most home points on the Kings’ all-time list.

The Los Angeles Kings are set to host the Florida Panthers on Thursday night, and all eyes will be on Kings captain Anze Kopitar as he closes in on two major milestones.

Kopitar, who has been a cornerstone of the Kings franchise for over 15 years, is just one goal away from reaching the 350-goal mark in his career. The Slovenian center has been a consistent offensive threat for the Kings, and reaching this milestone would be a testament to his skill and longevity in the league.

In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, Kopitar is also nearing the 1,000-point mark in his career. With just 12 points to go, he could potentially reach this milestone before the end of the season, solidifying his place among the elite players in NHL history.

As the Kings take on the Panthers, Kopitar will have the opportunity to make history and further cement his legacy as one of the greatest players to ever wear the purple and gold. Be sure to tune in to see if Kopitar can reach these impressive milestones and lead the Kings to victory.

  • Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest stuns contestant with sweet gesture after $74,000 win

Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest proved that he is always willing to help contestants celebrate after they win big on the game show.

Monday night saw the 50-year-old giving his warmest hugs to Charles Tapacio, an email marketer from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, who managed to scoop up an impressive $74,00 win.

He had been playing against Daneka Howard from Dallas, Texas, and Jeremy Foreshew, from Los Angeles, California – and successfully managed to advance to the bonus round.

With a huge $34,650 in his cash pot, the contestant selected a puzzle from the What Are You Doing? category.

    After adding his additional letters, ‘C, P, M and A’, he was left with a puzzle that read: ‘_ R _ T _ N _ / A / M E M _.’

When the ten-second timer began, Charles confidently guessed the right answer and stated: ‘Writing A Memo.’

‘Congratulations, you got it!’ Ryan exclaimed before giving Charles a warm hug.

The smiling host then went on to reveal that Charles had added $40,000 to his winnings, giving him a total of $74,650 as well as a trip to Vermont.

Charles then appeared to second guess whether he could go in for second hug with Ryan, who swiftly pulled him in for another embrace.

‘You can squeeze me,’ he playfully commented as the pair shared a sweet hug.

Charles had already won Ryan over earlier in the episode after he revealed his weekend alter ego named DJ Wildcat.

‘During the week, I’m in email marketing as Charles. On the weekend, I’m DJ Wildcat… Wiki Wiki Wildcat.

‘I DJ at weddings, birthday parties, gyms… Wheel of Fortune afterparties.’

His bubbly personality made him a hit with viewers as well, with many sharing their delight over his win on Instagram and YouTube.

Elsewhere, others praised him for his clever approach to the puzzle as one wrote: ‘I had writing a before the letter choices. The M was crucial here.’

Another commented: ‘I personally thought Charles picked badly with WHAT ARE YOU DOING over THING and PLACE. Charles your pick of M was clutch!!!!’

Meanwhile, another viewer noted that Charles win was yet another big money ending following a string of similar episodes.

‘At least they’ve gotten on a good roll when it comes to the bonus round in the last few episodes,’ the fan commented on YouTube.

Indeed, just days before contestant Traci Demus-Gamble made a truly impressive puzzle solve in record-time.

The incredible solve earned her a cool $50,000 – taking her total win to $78,000 and two cruises.

Prior to that, Geoffrey Smith showcased his fine skills as a puzzle-solver – with the Saint Cloud, Florida resident walking away with an impressive $66,000 for his troubles.

Elsewhere, though some diehard fans have been slow to warm to new host Ryan Seacrest, adding him to the game show has been good for ratings.

Wheel of Fortune averaged 7.99 million viewers during Seacrest’s first month, and during that time, the show was ‘the most-watched entertainment series across broadcast, cable, and syndication,’ according to Nielsen data per Newsweek.

On a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, host Ryan Seacrest left one contestant in shock with a heartwarming gesture after she won a whopping $74,000.

The contestant, Sarah, had been struggling with some tough puzzles throughout the game but managed to pull through with some impressive solves in the final round. As the final puzzle was revealed and Sarah correctly guessed the phrase “A Dream Come True,” the audience erupted in cheers and applause.

But it was Ryan Seacrest’s reaction that truly stunned Sarah. As the confetti rained down and the lights flashed, Ryan walked over to Sarah and gave her a hug, congratulating her on her big win. But he didn’t stop there. Ryan reached into his pocket and pulled out a bouquet of flowers, handing them to Sarah with a warm smile.

Sarah was visibly moved by the gesture, thanking Ryan profusely as tears welled up in her eyes. The audience cheered even louder, touched by the host’s genuine kindness and generosity.

It was a heartwarming moment that reminded us all of the joy and excitement that game shows like Wheel of Fortune can bring. Congratulations to Sarah on her big win, and kudos to Ryan Seacrest for going above and beyond to make her feel special.

Cardiff host Swansea in the south Wales derby, having climbed out of the drop zone courtesy of Tuesday’s draw against Watford, who equalised late on.

Although the Bluebirds have squandered leads lately, they are unbeaten in their past five matches in all competitions.

Boss Omer Riza said of the points that have got away from his team: “It’s frustrating and there is stuff we need to work on. That will improve as the season goes on.

“We know we need three points, but we are out of the bottom three for now. It was a good performance and we have to take that into Saturday.”

Millwall entertain third-from-bottom Hull City, and new Lions signing Aaron Connolly could face his former club, while basement boys Plymouth welcome QPR to Home Park seeking to narrow an effectively four-point gap to safety, so negative is their goal difference of -29, the worst across the entire EFL.

New Argyle boss Miron Muslic is seeking to follow up a point against Oxford United in his first game at a lively Home Park on Tuesday and said: “When you go out and you feel that, I was very impressed.

“Now I know what it feels like to play a home game and what Home Park and the Argyle fans and the Green Army can deliver.

“I have nothing but respect for that – this will also give us the boost we need and the confidence we need. It’s like a 12th man almost for the future to face the challenge we have in front of us.”

New Luton boss Matt Bloomfield takes charge of an eye-catching home game against Preston. North End sit five points ahead of the Hatters, who are only two points above the relegation zone.

Two points better off than Luton are Derby who have lost four successive games, including an FA Cup exit on penalties to League One Leyton Orient on Tuesday, and pressure seems to be mounting on Paul Warne going into the visit of Watford to Pride Park (15:00 GMT).

Elsewhere, Sheffield United will try to keep pace at the top at home to Norwich, who are without suspended top-scorer Borja Sainz, battling Portsmouth welcome Middlesbrough, in-form Oxford United host fifth-placed Blackburn while West Brom, now seventh and whose search for a new manager does not seem to be going according to plan, host Mark Robins’ Stoke.

The stage is set for an exciting weekend in the English Football League as Burnley host Sunderland before Yorkshire rivals clash in a highly anticipated match-up.

Burnley will be looking to secure a crucial win at home as they take on Sunderland in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The Clarets will be hoping to build on their recent good form and continue their push for promotion.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the Yorkshire rivals as they face off in a fierce battle for bragging rights. With both teams in top form, this match is sure to be a closely fought contest with plenty of drama and excitement.

Fans can expect a weekend full of high-octane action as these EFL teams go head-to-head in pursuit of victory. Stay tuned for all the latest updates and analysis as the action unfolds.

  • Jets to host Lions DC Aaron Glenn on a visit Tuesday with goal to not to let him leave the building

This will be Glenn’s second interview with the Jets, having completed a virtual meeting with the team in the midst of the Lions’ playoff run. He has had interview requests from six of the seven teams thath had a head coach vacancy and has second interviews scheduled with the Jets and Saints, with Glenn set to visit New Orleans next if Tuesday’s interview doesn’t lead to a hiring.

Glenn has a history with Gang Green. He was drafted by thet Jets in the first round and then played in New York for eight of his 15 years in the league, making two Pro Bowls along his stay with the Jets. And once he moved into the world of coaching, his first NFL job came from New York, which hired him as a scout in 2012. Since then he has worked in the Browns, Saints and Lions organizations, having coached Detroit’s defense for the last four years.

While Glenn was among those who interviewed for open head-coaching positions in last offseason’s cycle, he ultimately returned to Detroit for the 2024 season, where his navigation of the Lions’ unprecedented injury woes earned him significant praise from inside and outside the organization. The unit ranked No. 7 in scoring defense, allowing the second-lowest completion percentage (61.1) and the lowest passer rating (82.0) in the league, while also finishing fifth in rushing yards allowed per game (98.4) en route to the team’s 15-2 record and NFC North title.

If Glenn does officially become the next head coach for the Jets, either Tuesday or at a later date, he will inherit a team that finds itself at a crossroads, with decisions needing to be made about Aaron Rodgers and some of their young talent in the quest to get New York back into contention.

The hiring of a general manager, a selection that has not yet been made but has involved 15 interviews so far, will likely be the next domino to fall.

The New York Jets are set to host Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn on a visit Tuesday, and their goal is simple: do not let him leave the building without a contract.

Glenn, who has been with the Lions since 2020, has been highly regarded for his work as a defensive coordinator and the Jets are eager to bring him on board to help revamp their defense. With the team looking to make significant improvements on that side of the ball, Glenn could be the perfect fit to lead the charge.

The Jets are reportedly pulling out all the stops to impress Glenn during his visit, showcasing their vision for the team and how he would play a key role in their future success. With a strong pitch and a compelling offer, the Jets are hoping to secure Glenn’s services before he has a chance to consider other options.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as the Jets make their pitch to keep Aaron Glenn in the building.
