Split Fiction is a world-hopping co-op action-adventure game chronicling the adventures of Mio and Zoe, two writers who get trapped in their own stories after being hooked up to a machine designed to steal their ideas. In order to escape, the pair must work together to escape the sci-fi and fantasy worlds they’ve created by using an array of abilities and gameplay mechanics.I was interested in Split Fiction as soon as it was announced at The Game Awards 2024, as the action-packed co-op gameplay looked like an awesome opportunity for some additional game time with my son. This latest gameplay trailer only draws me in further, as Hazelight gives us a look at two levels: a sci-fi world created by Mio and a fantasy world made by Zoe.
There are tons of platforming sections throughout both levels along with boss fights. In the sci-world, the players take on a robot while riding motorcycles, while in the fantasy world, the players can transform into animals.
We also get a look at some other parts of the game, which show the players floating around in space, riding sandfish across a desert, waterskiing, and more. It just looks like a thrill ride, and the perfect excuse to sit back on a Sunday afternoon and explore two very different gameplay styles with the little dude.

Minnesota Timberwolves fans have seen the progression of Jaden McDaniels throughout the current season. After struggling quite a bit to begin the year, McDaniels has really stepped it up and has been much more productive as of late. In fact, his play has been one of the reasons the Wolves’ offense has found life in the last month or so.
Just how impressive has McDaniels’ play been? All you need to hear are Chris Finch’s words from before Minnesota’s matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The Timberwolves’ coach gave some ridiculously high praise to Jaden.
When asked if the past month has been the best basketball of McDaniels’ career, Finch’s quick reply spoke volumes. “Absolutely,” he said. “It’s the most mature basketball that he’s played in every facet. He’s fouling less, he’s composed, he’s rebounding, he’s making all the small plays. He’s playmaking, he’s taking good shots, he’s not getting frustrated. When his shot doesn’t go in, he’s finding ways to contribute no matter what.”

When a coach is saying these types of things and going out of his way to explain each and every way one of his players is dominating, he really means what he says. To say that McDaniels is playing the most mature ball he has played of his career in every single facet is no small statement.
Jaden has largely been playing better by way of playing smarter, not harder, as the old saying goes. It is not like he has simply just started hitting shots. As Finch says, his mentality is evolving and we can see the mature decision-making on nearly every play.
Rather than hoisting up a contested three when he is passed the ball in the corner, McDaniels is judging how close his defender is and then attacking off the dribble, quickly analyzing who is open that he can make a quick pass to or looking for room to get his own shot off. His measured approach is vastly different from what we have seen from him in the past, and it has done wonders for the Timberwolves’ offense.
Again, you simply do not hear coaches openly give such high praise like this very often. Finch’s words say a lot about just how big Jaden McDaniels’ play has been over the last month.

Scientists have made a stunning Parkinson’s disease breakthrough after a man fitted with an incredible new device said he feels “cured” of the brutal disease.
Kevin Hill, 65, was the first patient to be fitted with Brainsense, a groundbreaking new “adaptive” technology.
A year ago, surgeons from Newcastle Hospital installed an implant into Mr Halls’ brain. It is linked to a tiny computer in his chest that sends vital electrical signals.
An update to the device now means scientists can closely read the patient’s brain activity.
It means they can provide a much more tailored and personalised treatment, using his body signals to adapt and adjust to meet his needs on a potentially minute-by-minute basis.
Now, Mr Hill forgets about Parkinson’s “for days and days and days”, telling the BBC he feels “cured”.
The 65-year-old Sunderland resident first began feeling Parkinson’s symptoms in his forties, including shakes and trembling in his thumbs and later his arms and legs. He suffered countless sleepless nights and nightmares as a result.
Mr Hill did not receive a diagnosis until 2017. He was told there was no cure but was informed about a new treatment being trialed, known as deep brain stimulation (DBS)
He enrolled and had the rice grain-sized chip planted into his brain which links up to wires threading up to the back of his neck.
Mr Hill said his body tremors stopped “stopped instantly”, leaving his wife in disbelief.
He said: “Before the implant I suffered badly with tremors which affected my sleep and gave me terrible pains in my shoulders, arms and legs. It also affected me mentally – I became really self-conscious and withdrew from socialising or seeing other people.
“The medication I was on wasn’t really working and I also had to give up my job.When I was referred for deep brain stimulation, I was told it could take a while to have an impact but I had a great response and the improvement was instant.”
Now, Mr Hill is even back on his bike, seeing friends and playing snooker.
He added: “To know that I’m going to benefit even more from having the latest version of the technology is just fantastic.”
The technology was developed by Medtronic, a company which specialises in developing technology solutions for complex health conditions.
Amaza Reitmeier, vice president, Neuromodulation marketing and strategy at Medtronic, said: “Medtronic remains the only company in the world to offer a complete sensing-enabled deep brain stimulation system, and now we have enhanced this innovation to allow patients with Parkinson’s to spend less time thinking about their disease.”
Around 153,000 people in the UK are living with Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological disorder affecting the brain and nervous system, in particular movement and balance.
This number is expected to soar in coming years due to population growth and ageing.

In an interview with Vogue published on Monday, Jan. 20, the actor, 38, shared a glimpse into his life as a father, highlighting one of the special qualities he admires most about his daughter, whom he and fiancée Suki Waterhouse welcomed in March 2024.
“I remember people used to be like, ‘Oh, don’t you like the smell of babies, but I thought they were just smelling the baby powder,” the actor told the outlet with a laugh. “But then I had a baby, and I was like ‘my baby smells incredible.’ ”
