Zayda Steel Says She’s a ‘TV Wrestler Trapped in the Indies’
– During a recent interview with Casual Conversations, wrestler Zayda Steel spoke about how she’s modeling her career after The Miz and how she feels like a TV wrestler who is trapped in the indies. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
Zayda Steel on being a “TV wrestler” trapped in the indies: “I literally am a TV wrestler trapped on the indies. I always, that’s how I feel. I don’t do much. Sometimes, like, my match with Marcus, for example, we had like, a super indie style, like PWG-esque match, but that was more so because I wanted to do something different. I wanted to adapt to his style with like the Poison Ranas and all that. But, yeah, I don’t do much. I don’t need to do much. I don’t want to get hurt on the indies, one. Two, you brought up The Miz, which is a perfect example of someone that, in the ring, really does not do a lot, but yet, he has his own talk show, which I would love my own talk show. The reality show he has. So there’s a reason why The Miz, his career is, I feel like, what I’ve tried to base my career off of.”
On her personal approach: “Again, being on the indies, I’m not trying to tear anybody else down, because at the end of the day, do you. If you want to do your crazy 450s and all that, have at it. I’ve seen people get injured just doing the basics. So hey, there’s no right or wrong way. Me personally, I just like the promos, the character aspects, the hokiness, sometimes, of my wrestling. So why would I try to be a technical wrestler when that’s not even what I like?”
Zayda Steel, a rising star in the world of independent wrestling, recently made a bold statement in an interview with Wrestling News World. The 27-year-old powerhouse declared that she feels like a “TV wrestler trapped in the indies” and is eager to break out onto the national stage. With her impressive in-ring skills, charismatic personality, and undeniable star power, Zayda Steel has caught the attention of fans and promoters alike. However, despite her numerous accolades and championship victories on the independent circuit, she still feels like she is being held back from reaching her full potential.
“I know I have what it takes to compete on a larger platform like television, but it feels like I’m stuck in this never-ending cycle of indie shows and small-time promotions,” Zayda Steel lamented. “I’m ready to show the world what I’m capable of and prove that I belong in the spotlight.”
Despite the challenges she faces, Zayda Steel remains determined to make a name for herself in the wrestling industry. With her sights set on breaking into mainstream promotions and competing on national television, it’s only a matter of time before this fierce competitor achieves her dreams.
Fans can catch Zayda Steel in action at upcoming independent wrestling events, where she continues to showcase her talent and prove why she is a force to be reckoned with in the ring. Stay tuned for more updates on this rising star as she continues to chase her ultimate goal of becoming a household name in the world of professional wrestling.

BASSETERRE, St Kitts (CMC):
DEANDRA DOTTIN bludgeoned Bangladesh Women’s bowlers to all parts of the ground in a superb display of power hitting, and together with captain Hayley Matthews propelled West Indies Women to a commanding eight-wicket victory in the first T20I at Warner Park on Monday.
Dottin smashed seven sixes in an unbeaten knock of 51 from 22 balls, while Matthews finished unbeaten on 60 from 54 balls, as the home side easily overhauled Bangladesh Women’s total of 144 for three from their 20 overs, ending on 145 for two off 16.5 overs.
West Indies Women were given a solid start with openers Matthew and Qiana Joseph putting on 63 runs for the first wicket.
Fahima Khatun got the breakthrough when she had Joseph caught at point after scoring 29 from 21 balls.
Shemaine Campbelle’s stay at the crease didn’t last long as she made just three before she became Khatun’s second victim to leave the Windies 73 for two in the 11th over.
The fireworks began with Dottin’s arrival, as she wasted little time in hitting Rabeya Khan for three huge sixes in the 13th over that went for 20 runs.
She followed up by slog sweeping Shorna Akter for another six in the next over before sending Khatun over the ropes in the 15th.
Dottin wasn’t done just yet, smashing Fariha Islam for two more sixes in the 16th over, the last of which brought up her half-century off 21 balls, while carrying West Indies within five runs of victory.
Matthews hit the winning run in the ensuing over, chipping Sultana Khatun down to deep midwicket for an easy single.
The skipper, whose 16th T20I half-century was overshadowed by Dottin, hit seven boundaries during her innings.
Earlier, Bangladesh Women did well to get up to their eventual total by picking up 52 runs in the last five overs after being limited by disciplined bowling by the home side early on.
They were led by an unbeaten half-century from their captain Nigar Sultana Joty, who stroked 53 from 40 balls with five fours and two sixes.
There were also useful contributions from Sharmin Akter who made 37 from 41 balls and Sobhana Mostary who scored 22 from 21.
In a thrilling match, West Indies Women’s cricket team emerged victorious against Bangladesh as Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews powered their team to victory. Dottin’s explosive batting and Matthews’ consistent performance led the West Indies to a dominant win.Dottin’s aggressive batting style and powerful strokes proved to be too much for the Bangladesh bowlers to handle. She scored a quickfire half-century and set the tone for the West Indies innings. Matthews, on the other hand, anchored the innings with her solid batting and ensured that her team reached a competitive total.
The West Indies bowlers also played a crucial role in the victory, restricting the Bangladesh batters and picking up important wickets at regular intervals. The team’s all-round performance was commendable and showcased their strength and skill in all aspects of the game.
The win against Bangladesh will surely boost the confidence of the West Indies Women’s team as they continue their campaign in the tournament. With players like Dottin and Matthews in top form, the team looks set to make a mark in the upcoming matches.
Overall, it was a fantastic display of skill and determination by the West Indies Women’s team, and they will be looking to carry this momentum forward in the rest of the tournament. Congratulations to them on a well-deserved victory!

West Indies earn slender lead over Pakistan in 2nd Multan Test after Noman hat trick – Sport
The West Indies gained a slender nine-run lead over Pakistan on Saturday as spinners dominated the opening day of the second Test in Multan, with Noman Ali achieving a hat trick for the home side.
Jomel Warrican took 4-43 and Gudakesh Motie 3-49 as Pakistan were bowled out for 154 at the close, replying to the West Indian first innings total of 163.
Left-armer Noman became the first Pakistan spinner to register a Test hat trick during his 6-41 as the West Indies were bowled out at the stroke of lunch in 41.1 overs, having won the toss and batted.
But the visitors hit back with a blitz of their own as 16 wickets fell to spinners — the most by that type of bowling on the opening day of a Test.
The previous record was 14 between England and South Africa at Leeds in 1907.
Only Mohammad Rizwan (49) and Saud Shakeel (32) batted with confidence for the home side, adding 68 for the fifth wicket before Pakistan slumped from 119-4 to 154 all out —losing the last six wickets for 35 runs.
Fast bowler Kemar Roach dismissed openers Muhammad Hurraira (nine) and Shan Masood (15), while Motie sent back Babar Azam (one) and Kamran Ghulam (16) to leave Pakistan at 51-4.
In the post-tea session, Shakeel was smartly caught in the deep by Roach — who hurt his groin but completed the catch — while Rizwan was stumped, both falling to Warrican.
Left reeling
Motie had Salman Agha for nine while the last man Kashif Ali was run out without scoring.
Earlier, the West Indies were left reeling at 7-38 with Sajid Khan 2-64 and Noman doing the damage.
It could have been worse for the tourists had Motie who top scored with a career-best 55 — not added an invaluable 68 runs for the last wicket with Warrican, who scored 36 not out with two sixes.
Motie also added 41 for the ninth wicket with Roach (25) to delay the lunch break before Noman grabbed the last two wickets for his eighth five-wicket haul in an innings.
Pakistan employed the same spin-heavy tactics which earned them a 127-run win in the first Test — also in Multan — with the ball turning from the first over.
Noman came on to bowl as the first change, and trapped West Indian skipper Kraigg Brathwaite leg before for nine to spark a collapse which saw the tourists slump from 32-2 to 38-8 off just 14 deliveries.
Noman dismissed Justin Greaves for one, then Tevin Imlach and Kevin Sinclair off successive deliveries to become the fifth Pakistan bowler to grab a Test hat trick.
Fast bowlers Wasim Akram (two hat tricks against Sri Lanka in 1999), Abdul Razzaq (against Sri Lanka in 2000), Mohammad Sami (also against Sri Lanka, in 2002), and Naseem Shah (against Bangladesh in 2020) achieved the feat for Pakistan previously.
Off-spinner Sajid dismissed debutant Amir Jangoo and Alick Athanaze — both without scoring — while Abrar Ahmed accounted for Kavem Hodge for 21.
Debutant pacer Kashif had Mikyle Louis for four in his first over.
In a thrilling second Test match between the West Indies and Pakistan in Multan, the West Indies have managed to earn a slender lead over their opponents after an outstanding performance by Noman Ali.Noman Ali, the left-arm spinner for Pakistan, took a hat-trick in the second innings to put his team in a strong position. However, the West Indies fought back valiantly, with Jermaine Blackwood and Jason Holder leading the charge with the bat.
Despite losing early wickets, the West Indies managed to build a solid partnership and take the lead over Pakistan. The match is finely poised heading into the final day, with both teams looking to secure a crucial victory.
The performances of Noman Ali and the West Indies batsmen have made this Test match a thrilling contest, and fans are eagerly anticipating the outcome. Stay tuned for the final day of action as these two teams battle it out for supremacy in Multan.
