The Raiders interviewed Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson for their vacant offensive coordinator position, Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reports.
Johnson also interviewed for the Texans’ offensive coordinator job and remains a candidate to replace Bobby Slowik.
The Raiders interviewed Darrell Bevell for the job earlier this week. Bevell worked as Pete Carroll’s offensive coordinator in Seattle from 2011-17 and thus is the favorite for the job.
Johnson went undrafted in 2011 and bounced around the NFL until 2016. He then began an NFL coaching career as the Bill Walsh diversity coaching fellow for the 49ers (2017) and then the Colts (2019).
The Colts hired him as an offensive quality control coach in 2020, and he spent two seasons in that job.
In 2022, the Vikings named him their assistant quarterbacks coach.
DeMeco Ryans hired Johnson in Houston when Ryans was named head coach two years ago, and Johnson oversaw the development of C.J. Stroud.
The Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly interviewed Jerrod Johnson for their offensive coordinator position. Johnson, a former quarterback at Texas A&M, has been making a name for himself in the coaching world after his playing career ended.
The Raiders are looking to revamp their offense after a disappointing season, and Johnson could be the fresh perspective they need. Known for his innovative offensive schemes and ability to develop young quarterbacks, Johnson could be the perfect fit to lead the Raiders’ offense to new heights.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Raiders’ coaching search and who they ultimately decide to hire as their offensive coordinator.
Even though Josh McDaniels was the favorite to earn the job all along, the New England Patriots interviewed several offensive coordinator candidates. Also among them was former Kansas City Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy, as was revealed by a recent report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
“The belief was that Bieniemy was a top candidate for the New England job, had McDaniels not been the obvious choice,” Schultz wrote about the interview.
Bieniemy, 55, started his coaching career at the college level in 2000 and primarily worked with running backs early on. His first stint in the NFL came with the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010. He returned to the league in 2013 with the Chiefs, first coaching their running backs and from 2018 to 2022 leading their offense as coordinator.
After helping Kansas City win two Super Bowls, he left for the Washington Commanders in 2023. He spent 2024 at UCLA but was fired as the Bruins’ OC in December.
In addition to Bieniemy, the Patriots also spoke to the aforementioned Josh McDaniels as well as Thomas Brown, Marcus Brady and Grant Udinski about the position held by Alex Van Pelt in 2024. They eventually hired McDaniels to fill it — his third stint with the organization — but also ended up bringing Brown aboard.
The former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator and interim head coach will serve as the Patriots’ tight ends coach and pass game coordinator in 2025. Bieniemy following a similar path to a role on new head coach Mike Vrabel’s staff could happen, even though it seems less likely given the apparent interest he has from other teams and New England not having many openings left.
The New England Patriots reportedly interviewed former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy, before ultimately hiring Josh McDaniels as their new head coach. Bieniemy, who has been widely regarded as one of the top coaching prospects in the NFL, was considered a strong candidate for the job.
During his time with the Chiefs, Bieniemy helped lead one of the league’s most explosive offenses, working closely with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. His innovative play-calling and ability to develop young talent made him a highly sought-after coaching candidate.
Although the Patriots ultimately decided to go with McDaniels, Bieniemy’s interview with the team showcases his reputation as a top coaching candidate in the league. It will be interesting to see where Bieniemy lands next and how he continues to make an impact in the NFL.
The Bears have filled a few positions on Ben Johnson’s coaching staff, but they are still looking for an offensive coordinator.
One candidate is Titans quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Hardegree has interviewed with the Bears about the coordinator position.
Hardegree was the quarterbacks coach for the Dolphins when Adam Gase was the head coach in Miami and Johnson was on the same staff as a wide receivers coach. That connection may have more to do with the Bears interview than Hardegree’s work with Will Levis and Mason Rudolph in Tennessee during the 2024 season.
Hardegree was also the interim offensive coordinator for the Raiders in 2023 and he’s worked for the Patriots, Jets, Bears and Broncos over the course of his coaching career.
According to reports, the Chicago Bears have interviewed Bo Hardegree for their vacant offensive coordinator position. Hardegree most recently served as the quarterbacks coach for the Los Angeles Chargers, and has previous experience as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets.
The Bears are looking to revamp their offense after a disappointing season, and Hardegree could bring a fresh perspective to the team. Known for his work with quarterbacks, Hardegree could be instrumental in developing young signal caller Justin Fields.
It remains to be seen if Hardegree will ultimately be hired for the role, but his interview with the Bears is a promising sign for fans hoping for a more dynamic and successful offense in the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
As has been expected, Josh McDaniels has interviewed for the Patriots’ offensive coordinator job under Mike Vrabel, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.
Vrabel has said that McDaniels was on the long list of offensive coordinator candidates.
This would be McDaniels’ third stint with New England. He first joined the club in 2001 as a personnel assistant, working his way up to offensive coordinator and QBs coach from 2006-2008 before departing to become Denver’s head coach. He returned in 2012 and was New England’s offensive coordinator before becoming Las Vegas’ head coach in 2022.
McDaniels won six Super Bowls with the Patriots as an assistant under head coach Bill Belichick.
New England has also spoken with Minnesota Grant Udinski, former Bears interim coach Thomas Brown, and Chargers passing game coordinator Marcus Brady.
The New England Patriots have reportedly interviewed Josh McDaniels for their vacant offensive coordinator position, according to multiple sources.
McDaniels, who previously served as the Patriots’ offensive coordinator from 2006 to 2008 and again from 2012 to 2021, is considered one of the top offensive minds in the NFL. He was instrumental in developing quarterback Tom Brady and helping lead the Patriots to multiple Super Bowl victories.
The Patriots are looking to fill the offensive coordinator position after former OC Josh McDaniels left to become the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. McDaniels is seen as a frontrunner for the job, given his familiarity with the organization and success in the role.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Patriots continue their search for a new offensive coordinator.
Argentinian authorities are continuing to investigate the death of Liam Payne — and they’re planning to speak with his grieving girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who left the country just two days before the One Direction star’s death.
The Post has learned that authorities have reached out to Cassidy and asked her to provide a witness statement to aid the investigation.
Authorities confirm to the Post that Cassidy is not under any suspicion of wrongdoing, but they hope that she can add context to what happened to the 31-year-old crooner during his fatal visit to Buenos Aires.

“She’s going to help in any way she can,” said a friend of the 25-year-old influencer. “She wants the right people to be brought to justice, and if that takes her answering their questions, she’s going to do it.”
“Obviously, there’s no reason for her not to cooperate,” the pal continued. “She tried for a long time to help him get clean, and is still haunted by what happened. Anyone who provided drugs to Liam should be prosecuted, she says.”
An autopsy found that the “For You” singer had a toxic mixture of drugs in his system at the time of his death — including crack and so-called “pink cocaine,” which is a mixture of ketamine and other drugs.

They face criminal counts including “abandonment of a person followed by death” and “supply and facilitation of narcotics,” according to the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14.
The first man accused was Rogelio “Roger” Nores, Payne’s close friend who was with him “on a daily basis” during his stay in Buenos Aires, according to the prosecutor’s office.
A second defendant is Braian Nahuel Paiz, a former waiter at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. Authorities say that he allegedly sold cocaine to Payne during his stay, but he denies any wrongdoing.

The third man, described only as “a drug supplier,” is said to have also provided the crooner with drugs on two different occasions on Oct. 14 — two days before his fatal plunge.
As authorities try to bolster their case against the three men, they are hoping that Cassidy can fill in the blanks of what she knows about Payne’s two-week stay at the hotel.
“She’s happy that they’re taking this investigation very seriously,” says her pal. “Because this has devastated countless people, and if she can help in any way, she will do it. It’s the least she can do.”
Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy is reportedly set to be interviewed by Argentinian police in connection to an ongoing investigation. The details of the investigation have not been disclosed, but it is said that Cassidy may have information relevant to the case.
Fans of the couple are shocked by this news, as Cassidy has always been seen as a supportive and loving partner to the former One Direction singer. Many are hoping that the interview will reveal nothing of significance and that Cassidy will be cleared of any involvement in the investigation.
